FM8 to PDF - Imported Files Problem

When converting an FM8 file to a PDF, my imported files that have been pasted or linked in the FM8 document (primarily from Excel) show up as blacked-out boxes in the PDF. How can I fix this?

I have been using native .ai files for about 5 years with no difficulty and the current file with referenced ai file was created in FrameMaker 7.0 and Illustrator CS2. I have been revising a number of files and the problem appeared only at this time. I think there may be a problem with the Illustrator/PDF settings because I could create the graphic as a PDF but not an eps file. the resulting PDF when referenced in the FrameMaker file did not print either.
There were some font warnings when I updated the Illustrator CS2 file to CS3 format.
I had another file that I revised in FrameMaker but did not change the Illustrator file (CS2) and the resulting PDF printed the graphic fine.
I am trying to check my Acrobat settings and Illustrator settings.

Well, these files are part of the zip.file which belong to the note. This is part of a regular transport and is normally done be basis. The data and the cofile (K....PLM & R...PLM) should be imported into your system. Before doing so they have to be transferred to the file server. Better let BASIS do these kind of things.

Collision with obj imported file problem....help!

The geometry is modeled in Maya... is very complicated mesh.
The problem is:.... when i walk on... the camera walking through the imported object!!
Can I stop che camera when enter in collision with obj file??

But you can use a signed applet.

Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files PROBLEM

I've installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard on Windows 7 operating computer.
And while I was trying to create PDF from a file, it always shows
Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files.

I've pressed yes yet it doesn't really help me and still shows the same message.
I've pressed no, and it doesn't do anything.

Does this occur if you are logged in as the administrator? Have you updated AA8 to the latest version? You very likely need the latest version to run on Win 7, particularly since AA8 is not certified for Win 7. If you have a 64-bit system, there is no question that you need to update.

Import file - problem

When i import the any file ( video, music or picture) AE CS5 sending me message:

1) If i import file from program menu:

Import file problem, the video is stretched

I have a 720*576 .mov file, but when I import this file in iMoive, the video is stretched, it have two black bars on both sides... How can I fix it?

Where did this video come from? Captured from a camera? Open the file into the QT player and report exactly what it says in the movie inspector. You might need to run it through MPEG Streamclip or the QT pro player to fix the anamorphic flag.

Embeding Uploaded PDF Static Files - Problems

Good morning all.
I have an application where users enter details and need to read through a selection of documents depending on what details they entered. I have uploaded 5 documents to my Apex server and used the following code to embed them inline (within the HTML itself)

This all worked file on my development server, all the documents were displaying inline with the HTML document (Example - http://www.planetpdf.com/mainpage.asp?webpageid=1682 Example #1)
However, I realised one of the documents being displayed was wrong - file 1 was showing instead of file 2. I had embeded the wrong file in the page. So I just changed the &p_fname to file2.pdf. When I ran the page, all the other embeded documents were working fine, but the recently updated one was popping out of the window, and the region where I embeded the file was blank.
Now, I just exported my application to a new server for testing, and have had to change all the embeded regions to point to the newly uploaded files on the new server. None of these now show anything. They either show the little picture icon (red square, blue circle, red triangle) if I include the &p_inline=YES code, the same icon if I say &p_inline=NO instead, or if I drop this argument, the entire region is blank, and the Adobe PDF icon displays streched across the region after a new seconds.
Any hints?

END;The "2967670122524254593" refers to that file that was uploaded, yes? How do I find this number for my uploaded documents? I think it was a table somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember which one.
Update: I found it - apex_applcation_files. I should just be able to insert the ID of the document I want in there, yes? I copied my document ID number (select id from apex_application_files) but the document is 404'ing on me.

Problem printing PDF picture files imported from JPG using HP Colour InkJet cp1700 printer

When I print PDF picture files imported from JPG using an HP Colour InkJet cp1700 printer, the picture spills over. A wide range of other PDF files print OK. Have tried things such as configuring the printer to scale to letter size, etc,, but without success. Have a Windows 7 64 bit computer and Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.5.5. Any ideas?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @rt70
I understand you're having some issues with printing PDF files from a website on Windows 7.
I would personally suggest trying to print from that website using a different web browser. If you're using Internet Explorer, try FireFox or Chrome, for example.
You can also try running the Print and Scan Doctor tool, that will search and try and fix printing issues.
If you have any issues that continue, please let me know what they are and which programs, websites, and web browsers you have tried, along with the results from running the diagnostic tool above.

Re importing files to AE problem

I followed the help instructions to re-import files to an AE project, but I had one problem. Certain files don't appear in my timeline, they are unviewable, and they have a different name and icon next to them. I'll provide a screen shot to show you what I mean.
Let me also explain the process of how I imported them. There's three things you should know first.
1. the files are in multiple folders, and those folders are within other folders.
2. The files I'm importing are .jpg files.
3. I'm using a mac with After Effects CC
So what I did first after it told me I was missing 210 files, was double click on the first missing file. It prompted me to choose the file in my finder, just like the help said. I double clicked the first file I wanted to replace. It then said that 48 files were recovered. I thought this was great, and repeated the same process for each of the other folders. Everything worked perfectly, except the initial files I clicked on had become some other file type. I tried to replace them but it didn't work. They no longer appeared in the timeline either. so I managed to replace the vast majority of my files, but about 4 of them don't work. I'm posting a screen shot to show you the icon that appears next to them after I recovered them. I have no idea what these icons mean and I can't work with those images. Any idea how to get my original image back in there?

That icon says that this is an image sequence---i.e., a set of images that are treated as one footage item (as a movie), not as independent still image footage items.

Problem with import file type setting

Problem with import file type settings - In preferences>general I select "wav encoder" But then going to tools>Create it still says "create mp3 version".
Can't find a way to overcome this. Thanks for any help.

Doublechecking, roy. After making the preferences change, are you leaving the General tab by clicking the OK button down the bottom-right-hand corner of the tab?

Getting Started with FCE - Problems with my imported files

Hi,
I'm trying to get started with Final Cut Express, but I'm experiencing lots of problems when I import my project from iMovie.
My project contains video, which I imported into iMovie at 960 x 540. It also contains some keynote animations, which I exported from Keynote as quicktime files.
When I export my files to FCE, I instantly get problems.
1) When I add the imported file to the sequence, I get an "Attention the clip does not match the sequence's setting or any of your sequence settings" error.
2) Whether I choose to translate my settings or not, I try to play the video in the timeline, but there is a continuous beeping sound, no audio from my video and when it hits the keynote animations, it just says "unrendered" or "media offline".
Please can you offer any advice on how I can get started with FCE more successfully.

Well, your sequence settings in FCE should be DV-PAL 48 Khz.
Create a new sequence.
From iMovie and Keynote, export your movie with quicktime conversion andd select DV-PAL 48 kHz (*And Not* DV Stream...). This material should play without rendering because his format and codec match the sequence's codec.
Import your files and everything should be OK.

Permissions problem when importing file in Final Cut Pro X 10.1.3

Hi guys!!
Today, like all days, I opened up my Final Cut Pro X version 10.1.3 and created a new Library and new project. Then I selected "Import Files" and I checked all the files I needed. Last I clicked on import selected files and I received this error:
"Directory Not Writable. The chosen directory is not writable."
This is a real tragedy. I have to start an important project and I can't use the program at all.
This is what I tried so far:
- Checked Macintosh HD permissions - Done - No problems
- I use an external HD as my scratch disk - Checked - No problems
- Tried to create a new project on a new HDD - Same error
- Checked Read / Write permissions on Macintosh HD and on footage folders - No problems
This is my Mac:
- iMac 21,5" Mid 2011
- Core i5 2,7 GHz
- 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
- AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
- HDD 1TB
- 2nd External HDD WD My Book 3 TB USB 3.0

And you're using managed media?
Did you repair permissions for the drive?
What OS are you using? Did you update to Yosemite? Did you do a clean install?

Sounds as if you used Microsoft software to make a PDF. If so, and you didn't use Adobe Acrobat ($$), then you need to get help with Publisher -- Adobe Reader only shows what you make.

Importing files into DVD SP problems

Just now having the following problem. When trying to import files into DVDSP, some files import correctly, while others show either the audio or video component of the file in red. checking error logs shows that there are errors on encoding either -47 or -43. Also two folders both named "multimediaimporter.oxygene" are showing up in the dock and app switcher. any clues?

You cannot bring VOBs into DVD SP. You can use other tools to do that, but your best bet probably is to demux the VOBs using [MPEG Streamlcip|http://www.squared5.com> to the m2vs and audio and just use those in DVD SP (in other words if you are not re-editing the footage this will be the easiest route) then add menus as needed
