FM9 Map to FM book with components question

I've begun experimenting with FM9 (trial at this point), and all is going pretty well.
But, when creating a FM book from my ditamap and xml, I want to segregate it from the xml sources. I can specify the book file to go to a different directory, but the FM files generated in the process are staying in the directory with their xml sources.
I'm not seeing a setting or a line in maker.ini to cover this. Did I overlook something?
Thanks in advance
Bruce

Hi Bruce...
I do believe that this is a limitation of FM9's DITA implementation. I don't have access to FM9 right now to verify however.
DITA-FMx 1.1 will soon be available for FM9 and allows you to specify an alternate location for the book and generated FM files.
Cheers,

  • How do I use my own templates when saving DITA map as FM 11 book w/ components?

I have updated the ditafm-output.ini file in the following places:
    [BookWithFM-Chapter]
    [BookWithFM-TOC]
    [BookWithFM-Index]
    [BookWithFM-ListofFigures]
    [BookWithFM-ListofTables]
    [BookWithFM-BookTitle]
In each I used the following information for my Template file path:
    Template=$STRUCTDIR\xml\DITA_1.2\app\technicalContent\template\Book_Templates\templateChap ter.fm
However, when I saved my DITA map as a FM 11 book with components, it still used the standard DITA templates, rather than my own templates.
    What am I doing wrong?

  • How to fix a problem with my book pro that has a gray screen with a folder with a question mark on it

does any one know how to fix a problem with my book pro that has a gray screen with a folder with a question mark on it?

Hello Mokhtary123 and welcome to Apple Support Communities,
It will help us diagnose your problem to know the exact model, size, year built, RAM installed and OS you're running.
    But basically your system can't find the boot disk. Usually this is a symptom of a dead/dying/corrupted hard drive;

  • My mac book pro does not start but has error message with a question mark on screen. took it in and was told probably the hard drive as could not reconize it so bought new one but still not connecting.what do i do

My mac book pro does not connect but shows an error message with a question mark on the screen.I took it to a retailer that said it was not reconizing the hard drive. He said i needed a new hard drive but it may be something else as well but he was sure a new hard drive would fix it.So putting faith in someone who deals with them i purchased a new hard drive to find it was still not working although he said the computer did know reconize the hard drive and i may have to send it away to get it checked .After already paying 120 pounds for a new hard drive and they wanting another 80.00 pounds to diagnose it i am a little sceptical.
That's why i am interested on anyone's help.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I think that your Mac detects your hard disk, but the problem is that your new hard disk doesn't contain any operating system, so your Mac doesn't find any bootable partition and you see a question mark.
If your Mac came with DVDs, insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting. Then, just install Mac OS X. If the hard disk isn't prepared to install Mac OS X, you will have to erase it using "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.

  • Just installed new hard drive in mac book pro 15", when trying to boot OSX from original disk I still get a folder with a question mark in it. How can I reinstall the OS?

Can't seem to get my mac book to boot from the CD after installing new hard drive.
I keep holding down "c" while restarting the machine with the disk in but it just keeps ejecting the disk and giving me a folder with a question mark.

If your on 10.5 with a Intel Mac, I think Apple has jinxed the firmware so you can't boot from the 10.5 disk anymore.
So far several people, myself included, can't boot from a 10.5 OS X disk on a Intel Mac.
Your going to have to buy a 10.6.3 Snow Leopard retail disk, it's wayyy better than 10.5 anyway, faster and most stable even better than Lion. Have to buy iLife though as it doesn't come on the 10.6.3 retail disks, only free with grey disks.

I have a problem with iphoto (have a mac book pro): the icon in the dock appears with a question mark, and the application is gone!!! Can someone tell what's going on? Yesterday I had the same problem with itunes: I downloaded the last version (it's free), but I cannot do the same with iphoto, and more important: I need to know what is happening!!! Please help me!

Applications should not disappear all by themselves.
If they are then that coud indicate serious problems with your hard drive.
Backup everything up as quickly as possible.
Using Disk Utility verify your system disk.

  • I just powered on my mac book pro and have a blue screen with a flashing folder with a question mark in the middle, how do I get out of this?

I just booted my mac book pro and it is at a blue screen with a flashing folder with a question mark in the middle of it.  How do I get out of it?

Click here and follow the instructions. If the computer was running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier and you reach the third set of steps, insert a Mac OS X install disk.

Have you tried to boot in Safe Mode (keep the Shift key down while booting, until the Apple grey backdrop, spinning gear and progress bar appear)?
If you can boot that way, it means some third-party software is causing problems.
If not, try to boot in Single User mode (press the Command/Apple and S keys on startup), then type "fsck -y" (no quotes), press Enter.
You should get a return such as:
fsck_hfs: Volume is journaled. No checking performed.
fsck_hfs: Use the -f option to force checking
If you do, then your startup volume is accessible. Type "restart" (no quotes...), then press Enter.
If not, you can try the following command:
    mount -u/w /
(there's a space between mount and the dash, no space between the dash and u/w, and a space between u/w and the slash sign).
There shouldn't be any visible return on screen after that command, but if you wait a few seconds, you could then enter the following command:
    systemstarter
    Then press Enter.
That could suffice to boot your system, but still not the graphical user interface.
When the prompt sign (#) returns, type "restart" (again, without the quotes), and press Enter.
    Tell us how it went.

  • My mac book is flashing a grey file with a question mark does any one know what this could be?

my mac book is flashing a grey file with aQuestion mark in it what does that mean does anyone know?

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the hard drive data is somehow corrupted.
Put your install DVD into the drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the optical drive.
Once it has finished booting and you are at the Install screen launch Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is then select the First Aid Tab run Repair Disk and if that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

  • Mac Pro wont book, getting folder with flashing question mark icon

I opened up Disk Utility but it only shows one of my two hard drives. I'm guessing it's toast. But before I go buy a new one, is there any value in going into an apple store and see what they can do?

I have the same problem with my brand new Mac Pro. from the start, upon bootup, i see a flashing folder with a question mark. I've already sent this Mac back for service. I believe the problem may have something to do with the airport card i had installed. something about the OS trying to find the wireless network...i'm not savy at this, by any means and hope we both resolve this issue. Do you an airport card installed?
I guess I'll be calling tech support again.

  • E7 - No status updated in contact book with Social...

    Hi,
I have noticed a new functionality in the Beta of Social 1.3 where status updates are shown in the contact book respectively. This worked once and stopped ever since. I installed the most current release from the Ovi store (post-beta as of June), but I can't get status updates to the contacts in my contact book. I have mapped the contacts in Social 1.3, as appearently indicated by the icon that looks like a contact book with a little chain piece. But no success yet. Is there a trick to get this to work?
    Hints are appreciated
    Robert

If your contacts were synced to your Mac, then yes they will have been written to it's hard drive at some point. Whether data recovery software can recover your contacts or not is another question and one that can't be answered because there is no guarantees with data recovery as to what can be recovered.

  • How to use two sets of books with one responsibility

Does anyone know if it is possible to run reports in the General Ledger business area of the Oracle EUL against two or more sets of books with the same responsibility? For example, I want a regional finance manager to be able to run a Discoverer GL report for both Bolivia and Peru using their South America GL Manager responsibility. It looks like you can do that for AR using HR security profiles but I'm not sure how to do it for GL. Thanks.
    Greg

    Hi,
There are two types of security: business areas security which allows a user to access the folders in a BA and is controlled through Discoverer; and data security which filters the data returned in the report. The data security is usually implemented as a condition in the views mapped in the EUL, though it can be implemented as mandatory conditions in the EUL. The data security is controlled by Application system profiles.
In your case you will have conditions in the database views which only returning data for the set of books defined in the profile for the current responsibility. To bypass this security so that a responsibility can report on multiple sets of books you need to create new folders in the EUL that map onto database view or tables that do not have the data security.
    Hope that helps,
    Rod West
