FME disconnects randomly while live encoding

Hello,
when doing a live encode with Flash Media Live Encoder 3 to FMS 3.5, the encoder disconnects randomly after 1 to 8 minutes. It takes about 50 seconds for the encoder to recognize the lost connection, then it re-connects. I tried to encode from different locations, but the problem remains.
Thank you very much for any help.

I suspect the problem with Network connection;
If not tried earlier; can you try running FMS & FME  on LAN connected machines or (better) on the same machine; If it works fine that it would just confirm that indeed network connection has some trouble.

    Carolyn,
I think your TV might be a rear projection model, correct? Those types of TVs inherently have overscan built into them as part of their optical design. The TV should have some picture SIZE settings that affect how much overscan is present, and some settings may even get rid of it altogether with the result there might be a small black border instead.
Don't worry about changing TV settings. Settings like this are tied to a specific input. So if you make these types of changes while the TV is passing the mini's video through to the screen, those changes will only apply to the mini. When you switch to other inputs, like a cable box, etc., the old settings should still be intact and unchanged.

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.1 crashes at launch!

    Hi there,
Accidently asked this question in the flash area--oops.  Here it is, in the correct section now.  :-)
I have used this Encoder extensively on my PC over the past couple of years and have never had any problems.  I am thinking that an update on some other device might have stealth updated on me and is now causing the Encoder to fail?  I have tried deleting and removing the software then re-installing.  I also tracked down the startup xml file I believe it was and deleted that as well.  Also have rebooted the computer multiple times and aside from throwing my laptop through a window I am lost.
    Help!

This is just a shot in the dark....
Do you have all your devices hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE?  For example -- your camera or digitizer?  When FMLE launches it will try to launch with the last known settings... including input devices.  If it can't find these devices (they're not hooked up and on) it can crash, although in most situations it will simply show a default screen with default settings.
If you do have your equipment hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE, try unplugging them and then launching FMLE so that it opens up in default configuration mode (no input devices selected; all default settings).  Then uncheck the "preview" boxes for both your input and output preview windows.  Close FMLE and then plug in your equipment (and turn it on) and relaunch FMLE.  I offer this suggestion as FMLE can sometimes act funny when the preview windows are open with certain types of input devices.  Don't worry -- you don't have to keep the preview windows off forever.  If you can get FMLE to successfully launch with the preview windows off, then you can set your settings however you like and save the profile.  Then quit and relaunch FMLE and then turn the preview windows back on and see if it works.  If it does, great.  Just be aware that making any settings changes while the preview windows are open could result in FMLE crashing.   Again -- this only happens with some capture devices, such as certain Dazzle capture boxes.
If none of this works, you could always try to upgrade to FMLE 3.2 and see if that solves your problem.

  • Flash Media Live Encoder high latency

    Hello,
we are trying to stream via Flash Media Live Encoder over a satellite connection (high latency of 1500 ms) and we get data rates no more of 500 kbps although there is available bandwidth to use. Is there any configuration parameter value to compensate the high latency issue. I searched in the knowlegdge db and I found that there were configuration settings for the TCP window size that were solved after the version 2.
    Any ideas?
    Thomas

No... FME does not have any facilities for negotiating with a
webservice or communicating with a browser. You can create an FME
profile xml document and distribute that (sort of like Justin.tv
does), but your users will need to apply that profile
    manually.

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and static image or recorded video?

Is it possible to put a static image or a recorded video (instead of a live video feed) into Flash Media Live Encoder to air while broadcasting a live radio show online?

FMLE will work with all devices which have direct show based drivers and give data in raw format. Here is a list of devices which have been tested and certified with FMLE - http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf

Please teach Flash Media Live Encoder.
Are you preserved only in the local though provide the recording function in FME?
It will be able to record directly in FMS.
Does the recorded image preserve the image from the camera directly or is what has flowed by way of FMS preserved?

    Hi
Flash Media Live Encoder is just like Windows media encoder.
You can connect your device (example : webcam) then Open Flash Media Live Encoder then left side you will find the Video Device. Just select your your device name.
Right side you will find 2 options
                                  1. Directly streaming into Media server (adobe)
                                  2. Store into hard drive

  • FireWire400 Drive disconnects randomly - Acomdata 250GB External - Help?

I bought a Acomdata 250GB External hard drive with FireWire400. It has worked beautifully for me for the past week or so. I used it with Time Machine and I also backed up files (movies, music, etc.) onto it which worked pretty well. I never formatted it or anything, just plugged it in and it started working. I use it in Windows sometimes using MacDrive - software which lets you access Mac formatted drives. I do this to transfer my Music to my Windows XP partition (Boot Camp) and things like that. Just recenetly (past 2 days or so) it disconnects randomly even when a file transfer is in progress. If I unplug and replug it, it sometimes fixes it. But other times I need to flip the power switch on/off for it to start up again. I feel like cutting the power like that must be bad for the drive. In my 2 weeks of ownership I never turned it off until I started having the issues, I just would let it spin down when I turn off the computer. I thought it got too hot so I let it sit for a while but I still have issues. I've heard you should totally unhook everthing (Firewire cable, power cable, then take everything out of your laptop (ethernet, Firewire, battery, etc.) and let them sit for like 30 minutes to get all power cycled and stuff. I'll try that now but can anyone throw me a bone? Please?

By the way, now I can't even get Mac to see it. I've turned it on/off, unplugged/replugged, what the crap.

We use like 30 handhelds. 7-8 of them disconnects randomly. The handhelds are reconnecting after 15 minutes which is along time for us. I have looked at the handheld logs it retransmits the key and gets timeout. I have tested the field with 3 handhelds while roaming. None of them disconnected but sometimes handhelds disconnects. Maybe this happens on same handhelds. I will look for it.
I have searched the forum but couldn't find any solution. I use agressive load balancing. WPA/WPA PSK for authentication.
    Software Version                 6.0.196.0
Any trick on handhelds or on WLC side that can be done?
    I found this article = http://intermec.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9432
Will try to set these setting on the handhelds. Maybe some of you experience the problem.

These bugs should be related to both 5508 and 4400, pls. see Cisco's software advisory:
    http://www.cisco.com/web/software/Wireless/Deferral/Software_Advisory_6_0_196_0.html
You can try both versions to see if the bugs be fixed. If your problem still not fix after upgrade, you have to open debug(debug client xxx) in WLC, use some wireless analyzing tools to capture the packets and check what happened during the disconnection(always remember to use NTP to sync all the related equipments' time). And of course, call Cisco TAC.
Before that, you definately should do some site survey to see if there's any coverage hole, also do some testing especially with simple environment as suggested by George. For example, firstly choose open, no ecryption for the WLAN, no session time out, no aironet extention, no dhcp(using static IP), enable low data rate such 1M/2M, etc. then test it, if problem disappear, then add more parameters towards your final enviroment to see which parameter cause the disconnection. If problem still exist, you need to check Intermec wlan driver, call TAC.

  • Wowza with Flash Media Live Encoder

Video Quality Problem: Action Script netStream X Flash Media Encoder
    Hi,
We're running Wowza to stream a live webcam from a Flex web application (using ActionScript 3 netStream method) for a 1 to 1 video chat.
We are able to stream it properly, but the quality does not look good at all (320 x 240, 300 Kbps, 15 fps).
We tried tweaking the paramenters (quality x bandwidth), but the quality is still surprisingly poor for a H.264 video.
Just out of curiosity, we decided to use Flash Media Encoder 3 to generate a live stream from the very same computer, with the very same webcam, at the very same video specs. The quality is much, much better than the one using the ActionScript 3 netstream approach. The difference is amazing!
So this leads us to believe that the problem is in the "encoder"; the Flash Media Encoder seems to be much for efficient in generating a high quality video stream, compared to ActionScript 3.
My question to you guys is: are we missing something? Are there any parameters on ActionScript 3 or even on Wowza that can increase the quality of video?
Installing Flash Media Encoder on each end user machine is impossible, so we really need this to work on the browser, via Action Script.
In other words: how can I make the quality of the video generated by ActionScript 3 be similar to the one we're able to achieve (remember: under the very same specs) on Flash Media Encoder?
    Thanks in advance,
    Julio Costa

    Hi,
That may not be possible with Flash Media Live Encoder directly. But you can use softwares like WebCamMax on Windows and CamTwist on Mac to add video affects while broadcasting with Flash Media Live Encoder.
You could refer to this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/2711776#2711776 .

  • Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL and Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder Compatibility

    Good afternoon,
Working in a while with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder for audio and video streams but with an audio card M-AUDIO DELTA 1010 LT. The M-AUDIO plate is no longer manufactured and because of this I am looking for a Audio card that is compatible with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder.
I did some research and found the external audio card Presonus Audiobox 1818 VSL, I wonder if that audio card is compatible with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2?

FMLE will work with all devices which have direct show based drivers and give data in raw format. Here is a list of devices which have been tested and certified with FMLE - http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf

  • Compatibily problems between flash media live encoder 3 and fms version 2 ?

    hello
i am trying to setup a stream for a live event we plan
for this we want to use our "flash media server v. 2.04" and
    to encode the video the
    "flash media live encoder 3"
but im really shocked about the poor quality - actually its
    not working
the video is freezing for a while an then playing back very
    fast and then freezing again
    and the audio is stuttering
i tried propably all kinds of combinations of the settings
    without any success
very often the encoding session is being stopped and started
    again with the following
    error message:
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:02:22 : Audio Encoding Started
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:02:22 : Video Encoding Started
Fri Mar 13 2009 05:03:09 : Unexpected error encountered in
    encoding process.
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:03:10 : Audio Encoding Stopped
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:03:10 : Video Encoding Stopped
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:03:10 : Session Stopped
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:03:10 : Session Started
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:03:10 : Audio Encoding Started
    Fri Mar 13 2009 05:03:11 : Video Encoding Started
    and the media server says:
Sending error message: Method not found (FCUnpublish).
Sending error message: Method not found (releaseStream).
sometimes it restarts only the audio encoding
the machine for the streamingserver (windows version) is
realy strong an has a very fast
    internet connection
the encoding machine is a 2.2ghz macbook pro with windows xp
    and 6000 dsl connection
with the low bandwidth factory setting of the flash media
live encoder the cpu usage is
    about 16%
for the videoinput i want use a canopus ADVC-110 firewire
    capturedevice
but i also tried the apple isight usb 2.0 laptop-camera and a
    logitech quickcam express
    usb 1.0 webcam
    all with negative results
two colleques encountered the same problems on their machines
but when i upstream the video with an standart flash client
    the videostream runs stable
    without any problems
so i guess the problem is the flash media live encoder
is there a compatibily problem between the server version and
    the encoder version ?
thanks in advance for any hints

    Hi,
FMS 2.04 version doesn't support H.264 and AAC/HEAAC. So, you
can only use Vp6, Mp3 and Nellymoser codecs in FMLE for streaming
    to this server.
You are getting "Unexpected error" message within 50 sec of
your encoding session. This error occurs when either of the video
or audio device doesn't function properly. As you have mentioned
that various video devices gave negative results, try to use a
different audio device or uncheck the 'audio' device option and
    encode only video.
Exactly what was the nature of the negative results for
different video devices? Was it the same "unexpected error"
problem? Please share the steps, device and encoder settings also.
When you observe video freezing and audio stuttering problem
while playback, reload the flash player and let me know if you
    still see the same problem.

  • Flash Live Encoder Errors in  with Intensity Extreme

    Hello,
I'm successfully set up a FMS server in AWS and can stream a webcam properly. However, when I connected the Intensity Extreme device to stream audio/video from an external source, the stream keeps crashing. When I disable the audio, the stream works without issue.

  • Live encoding and streaming

    Hi,
I have a video source (avi) that I need to encode into a
format which FMS can then broadcast live. To clarify, the encoding
and broadcasting needs to be simultaneous - I cant wait for the
encoding to finish. I need to encode the avi into a stream and
broadcast the stream while the encoding is ongoing.
What are my options here? Can the Flash Media Encoder do
this? Can I use FFMpeg to convert to flv and pipe the result into
FMS for broadcast? If anyone could help, I would really appreciate
    it!
    Thanks,
    Mike Lee

  • Live Encoder Performance

I am trying to create a live encode station with FME. I want
    to encode at:
    full frame SD 720x576,
    H264 & VP6
    maintain 25fps,
    set to high quality
    400-700 kbps
Recording file to drive at the same time.
    Q. What sort of processing power do I need to avoid frame
    dropping?
    Q. Is FME optimized for Quad-Core processing?
    Q. Xeon or Core 2?
    Q. Do video cards effect the performance of the live
    encoding?
Also where do I find a list of compatible capture cards, i.e.
    Black-Magic
Thanks in advance for any advise.

With 650 + bit rates and 720x480 size, VP6 should work fine
on Dual core Dell Optiplex 755, Intel ® Core™ 2 Duo CPU
    E6850 @ 3.0 GHz with 2 GB RAM
At 720x480 sizes, H264 with Base profile should also work
fine with no frame drops. But for Main profile one may need Quad
    core machines.
Is FME optimized for Quad-Core processing?
H.264 is but not VP6. It is single threaded
    Xeon or Core 2?
No specific reason to choose one over other.
Do video cards effect the performance of the live encoding?
-Cards can send packet with incorrect timestamp causing video
    jerks/stalling.
-Cards can send more number of packets than expected causing
delay or increase in buffer length at the subscriber end
-Cards can stop sending packets, bringing encoding to a
    abrupt halt
Also where do I find a list of compatible capture cards, i.e.
    Black-Magic?
