FME freezing after startup

I'm trying to setup FME to generate a live video stream from
a Philips SAA7130 capture card and Intel c-media audio input port.
Shortly after startup the program freezes, if I disable the audio
input in device manager FME does not freeze and works with video
only. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem with audio
capture freezing FME and are there any log files or a debug mode
that could help figure out where the problem is?

Yep, had it all the time with FME 1. Which version of FME are
you using (version/build)? Replicated the issue with usb capture on
a later version, but it went away with latest FME and latest usb
drivers.

Mac Pro on 10.6.8 freezes after startup

Since updating to 10.6.8 my 2009 MacPro will freeze after startup when opening finder, safari and itunes (so far). No beach ball and ForceQuit doesn't work. Resolved only by a hard shutdown with the off switch and restarting. Never a problem on restart. This problem seems identical to that described in an archived discussion (after an update to 10.5). -run AHT and no issues found

It means that a third-party system modification you installed is causing the problem.
Reboot as usual (not in safe mode) if you haven't already done so. Don't launch any of your usual applications. Launch the Terminal application, copy or drag -- do not type -- the line of text below into the window, and press return:
kextstat -kl | awk ' !/apple/ { print $6 $7 } '
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.)
Next, do the same thing with this line:
sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|com\.vix|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
That's one line, not two. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Next, this command:
launchctl list | sed 1d | awk ' !/0x|apple|edu\.|org\./ { print $3 } '
Again, one line. Finally, one more:
ls -1 /Library/{InputManagers,StartupItems}
Remember, this is all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer -- no typing, except your password.
You can then quit Terminal.

Acrobat Reader 9.1.x freezes after startup

Hello,
Our Acrobat Reader is having problems on some machines during startup that it completly freezes after startup.
I've traced this with procmon and have seens that a certain file "sharedEvents" is trying to to somthing buth it is hanging on
lock - unlock. Killing All process of Acrobat Reader and deleting this file and then re-starting the program isn't helping because it keeps 0 kb and the mentioned behaviour is trying to do something with this file.
the file can be found in %appdata%\adobe\acrobat\9.0
Our profile's is redirected , it is working for most of the users but some users are having this problem.
Can anybody tell me what Acrobat Reader is doing with this file and is there a work around to initialize everything back again so the
user can startup the program normally so it is not freezing after startup without having to remove and install it back again ?

The problem I'm having is a problem on the journal file. After some more investigating it look that the problem can be related to oplocks since we have enbaled oplocks on our server (were the file is placed trough folder redirection). We will check this ...
I've already disabled oplocks on client side and then everything is working however we are using Vista in combination with offline files and if you disbale oplocks then offline files will not work so we are looking a bith further to see what we can do on server side ... to be continued ...

PS CC 2014 freeze after startup

Photoshop CC 2014 freezes after startup on MacBook Pro.
Start screen dissapears, all tools and panels are loaded and then the app crashes.
I tried to reinstall twice but it changed nothing.

IMac freeze after startup, works fine in safe mode

Hello, my Mid 2010 iMac is freezing about 3 minutes after startup. Ive tried booting from the instal disk and repairing it but it didnt work. In safe mode it works completely fine. It similar to some other peoples problem but i was hoping someone could help me, my applecare literally just ran out like 3 weeks ago.

HP Pavilion P7-1225 Desktop Freezes After Startup. Frustrated!

Hi,
My family's HP Pavilion P7-1225 desktop computer freezes a few moments after startup, most times. However, it will occasionally work just fine for hours and then suddenly lock up. Over the weekend a sort of clicking sound was heard followed immediately by the freeze. Restarted a few times, heard noise, got lock up. We're not hearing the noise now but it's still freezing up.
We have yet to talk to HP Support about it, but no other professional has been able to solve it (and we have had many try). Please help!

Hi Leo,
Many things could be causing your issue. Intermittent freezes can be very difficult to solve. Since so many professionals have already tried to solve your issue then it's probably time to contact HP Support. As such, I am not going to suggest what has probably already been suggested and/or tested.
I don't know if you are using an UPS but transient changes in line voltage (too low or even too high) will often times cause a failover and clicking noises (relay closing and opening) with some UPSs will be heard. I hear clicks from my UPS at times even though the lights don't flicker. A poor or faulty UPS could cause issues like you are experiencing. You might also having an electrican check the circuits in your house. You might want to isolate your PC equipment off circuits that might have high current start up devices that might cause local voltage surges.

MBP Freezes After Startup - Fixed Version Cue Already!

I installed the OS X security update last week and i had the problem where after boot-up I can see the mouse pointer but the entire desktop is frozen. I deleted Adobe Version Cue from the Startup Items and that solved the problem.
Until today, the SAME thing started happening. I have NOTHING in my startup items. At this point, I can't use the computer unless I do Safe Boot and then it works ok. The only thing I can pin it on is that the first freeze up happened when I was running Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 and converting a document to PDF. It froze and then every subsequent reboot freezes about 10-20 seconds after startup.

Ok in the 30 seconds I had before my machine froze, I opened the activity monitor and under all processes found that there was a root pdf process using 80-100% of the processor, after force quiting this process I haven't had the problem agian and have been able to reboot with any problems.

Mac freezes after startup

Hi, I have a macbook aluminium from 2008, 2 GHz Intel core 2 duo, 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory and using OSX Lion 10.7.3 Everything is up to date.
For the past year or so my mac has sometimes frozen after it starts up. All icons and background load, EXCEPT my google notifier on the top tool bar. That's how I know my mac is freezing. But it's frozen before I started using google chrome and years after using google notifier. So I don't think those are why it's freezing.
When I click things the rainbow spinwheel comes on and it stays that way, so I just turn it off and reboot. Sometimes this will happen a couple times in a row, if I'm lucky it won't freeze for weeks. I don't know what is causing it or why it's so sporatic. I copied my console system log. Please help me! I'm afraid I'll turn it on and it won't start again. Thank you!

Is this problem with every app installed in your mac or just a one application ?
Can you tell me which application you faced this type of problems ?
Because you mention force quit is working , that means machine process is working (may be i am wrong). But provide more details which application you faced this problem ?

IMac freezes after startup; locks at Login screen

Hi,
I have changed the system date to an ealier date - a day earlier. After a few moments, my computer froze. Restarted my computer but it still freezes at login screen - keyboard doesn't work. The system works on safemode though, but normal startup doesn't work at all. No HW was added or removed except for the external USB drive. I also have tried the following items to no avail:
1) PMU Reset
2) Changed date/time to normal in safemode and installer-disk startup.
3) Disk/folders permissions tests were OK. Terminal disk check was OK.
4) Removed my internet connection and all external disks.
5) Created another user-admin account.
Please help me here. I'm backing up my data files right now and would reinstall my OS later as a last resort.

Finder freezes after startup

This is happening many, many times.
I startup my Macbook Pro and it freezes (beach ball) with Finder. I just hold on/off button to turn it off and turn on again.
Any idea about what is causing this problem?

G5 Power pc mouse freezes after startup

I have a liquid cooled power pc G5 that won't start up intermittently. I have been going through the threads on apple discussions and finding the same problems I am having. I have tried most all of the suggestions and still cannot get results. I had put the mac to sleep a few weeks ago and when i came bacck to it later in the day the fans were blazing so i shut it down and have never been able to get it to come back up without the mouse freezing on me after about 2 minutes or so. I can get it to work and get so far then the freeze comes and i have to power down the start button. Any more options any one can think of would help please.

Can you start in Safe Mode, (holding SHIFT key at bootup & have it run longer?

Freezing after startup

My iBook shut down after the battery showed 0%. I didn't have my power adapter with me which is why it went all the way to 0% before shutting down. iPhoto was open when it shut down. When I got back home, I plugged in my iBook and booted up. Startup would get as far as the blue bar before the login window. After the "blue bar" screen, I cannot get anything more than just a blue screen.
I've tried to start up holding down the "alt" button while powering up, but that doesn't work either. Do I need to reload iLife because iPhoto was open, or do I need to reinstall OS X? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How much time goes by before you shut it down after the blue screen? Sometimes all it needs is a few minutes extra to reload and "think". Try inserting the install cd #1 and hold the C key and from there run the disk utility to repair the disk.

ITunes Freeze after Startup :(

Okay so i looked around for a Solution and only thing that semi works is disconnecting from the internet (VIA Cable on back of Computer) but when ever I start iTunes with a Internet Connection (Cable Plugged in) it Freezes. Now if I Plug in the Cable after I start iTunes it works fine Unless I go to iTunes Store then it Freezes again, I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling, moving/deleting all iTunes Folders, and ever Moving all my Music (Music is the only thing I have on iTunes no Videos, Podcasts or whatever only Music (7281 Songs >.>) but it just started doing this an hour ago for no reason Please Help!?!

Thats what I started to think but then I Disabled everything at Start up (Except what needs to be on) and there was still a problem but Im not to Worried about it It was fixed with a Factory Restore

HP Pavillion 23 freezing after startup

As soon as I turn on the computer, the hp logo shows and usually, these colors start showing. This just started after the 8.1 update. I don't think it's graphics because you see the hp logo, and the prompt to restart my computer. You can somewhat see if I hold the space bar or click random keys. I posted video as well.
