FMLE 3.2 Supports Dual Xeon (i.e. 2 physical processors)?

Hi there,
Right now I use a i7 990x, to stream 5 independent TV signals (encoded as 3 streams each, totaling 15 streams) and the processor usage is between 70 and 80%. Each TV signal takes about 1.5 Mbps = 7.5 Mbps throughput. I want to be able to handle at least 8 independent TV signals (encoded as 3 streams each, totaling 24 streams). Each TV signal will take about 3Mbps = 24 Mbps througput.
I plan on buying a Dell server (PowerEdge 620) that includes Dual Xeon processors (2 Intel 2630L with 6 cores each = 12 cores) and I wanted to know if FMLE would be able to take advantage of this machine - i.e. the 2 processors.
Any idea?

All the crash report code on the world won't save you brother. I am with you; when will Adobe release a Lion update??
I sent a request in to Adobe but I think it was more for my own benefit than making a difference. They must be aware of this issue! All we can do is say please, sincerely, utterly, release 3.3 lion compatible.

  • Dual Xeons Or Dual GPU Premiere cs6?

    Hey,
Does PR support "DUAL" processors. GPU OR CPU.
Iam willing to upgrade to dual Xeons like  " HD-Juggernaut"

Is it helful for PR or not, or i just stick with i7?

As Bill said, dual GPU is not a good idea... some previous discussions

  • Installing CCM on DL 380 G3/G2 with dual PIII or Dual Xeon

    Hi NetPros,
I am planning to buy and install CCM 4.X or higher version on HP/Compaq DL 380 or DL 320. when i looked at the Cisco Approved Hardware requirements sheet i found the model that i am planning to buy... with dual PIII or dual Xeon on DL 380 G3. The Cisco document says
"DL380-G2 is a robust server solution designed for Cisco Unified Communications software
applications. Up to 7500 IP phones can be supported on a single server running Cisco
CallManager 3.3 or later. The required processors are dual Intel Pentium III 1.4-GHz processors. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 2 GB of memory is achieved".
Just wanted to make sure with NetPro's before buying the server that i am able to install and practice myself on CCM 4.X or higher versions.
Also, wondering.. Is DL 360 is also on the approved list ??? and is it possible to install CCM on it
    Thanks in advance....

  • Intel 960 vs dual Xeon E5520 for AVCHD editing

Like many people on this forum I am trying to determine the best hardware to purchase for my use of Premiere Pro. For the last several years I have been using Liquid Edition but decided to move over to Premiere because of its support for AVCHD editing.
I have narrowed my system choice between a single processor i7-960 and a dual processor xeon E5520. From the PPBM4 benchmarks it appears that a 960 system is sligthly ahead of the xeon system which surprises me. However, the results does vary based on task. An added benefit is that the 960 system is cheaper to build. On the other hand, Adobe seems to recommend a dual processor system for HD editing.
My question is which system is better at AVCHD editing? For the tasks that you routinely do in Premiere which configuration would better suit me?
    Thanks for any help.

There are a number of things to consider:
    1. Price/performance
    2. Number of CPU's and cores
    3. Clock speed
    4. Memory slots
    5. Overclock ability
What are the factors in favor of the i7-960 in comparison to dual E5520:
    1. Price/performance
    3. Clock speed
    5. Overclock ability
so that means that dual E5520 have in in their favor:
    2. Double CPU's and double the number of cores
    4. Twice the memory slots (12 or even 18 versus 6)
When looking at the PPBM results, the i7-960 @ 3.2 performs around equal to dual E5520 @ 2.26. So effectively double the cores and lower the clock speed gives around the same performance. However, overclocking can have a significant impact as you see in the top results and that is where dual Xeons have a problem. Servertype mobo's are very difficult to overclock if at all (the same applies to Dell XPS BTW, because of their crippled BIOS). But the servertype mobo's have double or triple the memory slots of an X58 mobo and with CS5 around the corner, that may be a distinct advantage, because you can at reasonable prices go for 24 or even 36 GB memory.
However you remain limited to the standard clock speed and E5520 are not very fast. On the other hand if you were to build the system yourself, you could get an i7-930 at half the price of a i7-960 and overclock it to let's say 3.6 and it will be faster than both a single i7-960 and a dual E5520 at stock speeds.
Unfortunately, there are no tests specifically for AVCHD (there may be in the future for CS5) so a definite answer can not be given to your question, but keep in mind that all the top scores were achieved with raid configurations, so that is an aspect that should not be forgotten.
My advise: Depending on your budget, calculate between 30 - 50% of your budget for disks and raid controller. That will probably limit your choices.
If you have indefinite means available, I would go for dual W5590 or the new Gulftown hexacores, at least 24 GB RAM and an Areca 1880iX-24 with 24 Seagate Cheetah 15K.7 600 GB disks in raid30 and 4 SSD's in raid10 for boot disk. Add a nice nVidia card and a Tesla C2000 co-processor and you are equipped for the next coming years.

  • Can my Macbook Pro support dual boot and Secret World

    Hi
My MacBook Pro has the following specs
Processor  2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
I was wondering if it can first of all, support dual boot, because I would like to play a Windows based MMORPG. And I was wondering if there are risks involved? I'm also worried because I like Mac's secure delete trash function and won't having a Windows platform affect that?
Furthermore, can it support playing Secret World with such specs?
Secret World is an MMORPG I'm not sure what the minimum requirements are.. It doesn't say, but anyone has a guess?
    -EDIT
OS:      Windows XP (SP 1)/Vista (SP 1)/Windows 7 (SP 1)
PROCESSOR:      2.6 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU
MEMORY: At least 2GB RAM for Windows XP / 3GB RAM for Windows Vista and Windows 7 *
VIDEO CARD:     nVidia 8800 series 512 VRAM or better/Radeon HD3850 512MB or better
    DIRECTX: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

If you have an MBP with a Core 2 Duo processor and a clock speed of 2.16 or 2.33 GHz, your max is 3 GB. If you have a 2.2, 2.4, 2.5 or 2.6 GHz clock speed your max is 4 GB.
Check Apple menu > About this Mac for processor type and speed.
I can tell you what you should see - C2D at 2.16 or 2.33 GHz. Those machines have a 3 GB max stated by Apple, but will actually use ~3.2 GB if you have 2 x 2 GB installed, and you get the (marginal) benefit of having a matched pair. In that case, it's also 'normal' for About this Mac to show 4 GB even though the memory controller can only access a little over 3 GB.

  • Extremely poor performance on good machine (dual xeon, Revodrive, SLI etc.)

    Hello,
I've looked for answer, read all the articles about making better performance of PS and I still can't solve the problem... I even tried Photoshop CC and the performance was... worse. I measured time it took to open some files or make some of my actions.
Programs performance is so incredible bad, it's not even annoying it is some disaster... sometimes I have to wait more than 10 seconds for response when I'm moving a layer or few seconds when applying some very simple transformations to smart object (logo etc.). I spent a lot of money on my workstation hoping it will work smooth and fine, and it seems that it is working worse than my old machine for 1/10 of its price. I hoped that moving to Cloud will solve the problem and the new software understands better new hardware I own, but NO! as I mentioned it is working even slower.
The problem only affects Photoshop and Illustrator, After Effects run perfectly fast... but I work mostly on Photoshop and Illustrator. Most of the time both programs are opened.
Some more hardware details of my workstation:
    Dual Xeon 2630 @ 2.3 GHz
    32 GB Ram
    System Drive: PCI-E Revodrive 3 x2 240 GB
    Storage Drive: 3GB WD
Graphic Card: 2x GF GTX 680 in SLI (2GB memory each)
    System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
    Adobe Suite CS 6 Master
I keep to all advices from "Photoshop performance" articles. I tried another SSD drive as scratch drive, all drivers are up to date, system is "fresh installed" without any garbage...
I'll really apreciate any good advice that could help me solve the problem, so I'll be able to work normal. Without lost hours on waiting for the simpliest actions.

I just to reinstalled drivers and NOTHING... (Latest nVidia drivers clean install)... I also looked on my resources manager and after few munutes photoshop easly uses more than 50% of avaiable RAM... when I'M working procesor usage is about 5-9% (12% was maximum) and when I run also Adobe Illustrator memory usage goes above 60% but cpu usage is still low (5-7%). I have 32GB of memory... PSD file I work on is 750MB... Maybe there is some issue with my memory, buffer or something like this? Any idea?
When I copy 1920x1080px layer from one program to the other it takes few minutes, and sometimes programes crush... even if I'm not working the memory usage is now above 60% - shouldn't it go down?
oth Photoshop and files I work on are on the same drive (PCI-E SSD OCZ RevoDrive 3x2 - so it shoulb be super-fast...).
Sorry for bad spellings - I'm so angry now!!!

  • Does 10.5.6 Support Dual displays for Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition cards?

Does 10.5.6 Support Dual displays for Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition cards?
And is there driver updates for anyone using the all-in-ones HP printers...has anyone been able to use their scanners since the update? and has the dual screen support been added to avoid the blue screen on startup?

The ATI Radeon 9600 PC/Mac edition 256 MB should work in the MDD G4. It has two DVI ports (one is dual-link and can support a 30" display). You will need adapters for ADC displays.

Every crash the Java and native frame trace usually report something different, but it is always the File related operation that causes the crash. Ok, now make it even more bizzar I have another Java standalone application running on this machine that also access files has no problem, so just wondering if anyone else here had the same problem before. Oh, almost forgot the same program runs fine on a single processor machine.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

I am encountering similar crash when the java.io.WinNTFileSystem.list - java.io.File.list() is called. Have you found any solution?

  • Does 785GM-E51 DVI support dual link?

I am considering buying the 785GM-E51 motherboard which comes with a DVI port (as well as HDMI and VGA of course).
Will the DVI support dual link?  If so, what is the maximum resolution I could have on the two monitors (say, at 60 Hz with high colour depth)?
    Cheers!
    jcarrete

Please clarify your question, dual link has nothing to do with being able to use two displays.
"Dual-link should not be confused with dual display (also called dual head), which describes those situations where a computer is hooked up to two monitors at once. "
     That quote from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface
That been said I think you should be able to have 2 displays, 1 DVI or HDMI + VGA You can't have 2 digital out at the same time though, DVI + HDMI.

  • Does K8D Master-FT support Dual core Opteron?

    Hi,
Does K8D Master-FT support dual core Opteron? I saw the latest BIOS was released at 2003/12/11 and said to support for all series of AMD Opteron(up to 248, SC, 2.2GHz/1M).
    Thx, Xuekun

Sorry I only looked after his question.
The entire K8D-Master3 series has support for it: >>Link<<

  • Will HP pavillion p6-2260ea support dual monitors

I just bought a HP pavillion p6-2260ea (i3 processor). There are 2 DVI ports on the back - 1 DVI I and 1 DVI D. Will this PC support dual monitors?
I have tried connecting 2 monitors using 2 DVI to VGA adaptors (1 DVI-I to VGA and 1 DVI-D to VGA) but only one monitor is being recognised.

    Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2260ea Desktop Computer. According to the specs, your computer has one DVI-D (digital only <DVI>) output and one DVI-I (digital <DVI> and analog <VGA via adapter>) output as shown below;
    (#3) DVI-D (digital only)     (#4) DVI-I (digital and analog <VGA via adapter>)
Your computer will work with two digital monitors, or one digital monitor and one analog VGA monitor but not with two analog VGA monitors.
Please provide the brand and model numbers of the monitors you are trying to connect to your computer for more assistance with this issue.

Yes. It depends upon the the model Mini you have, The current ones have to video outs.
