FMLE Out of Memory Crash

I'm using an AverTV Hybrid Volar Max USB tuner connected to my cable box via composite cables, and my computer is Win7 64bit running in Bootcamp on an iMac (Intel Core2 Duo 2.30GHz with 4GB RAM).  I can select and stream video from the Aver device using FMLE 3.1 fine.  But when I try to select the Aver device as the Audio Input in FMLE, FMLE hesitates for a few seconds and then crashes.  The initial error message that I got when this first happened was ...
FMLE - out of memory
And then another Windows error message ...
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files (x86) \ A...
R6016
-Not enough space for thread data
This sounds like it may be a hardware issue, but I'd like to get any feedback possible on potential software workarounds or machine configuration changes that I might try.  I have looked at the Windows Task Manager when FMLE is running and, during video-only streaming, CPU usage is high (approx 80-90%).  But the FMLE crash occurs even before I've started streaming; it happens right after I simply select the Aver device in the Audio dropdown.  Any ideas?

No i am saying FMLE 3.2 Win will work properly on Windows based machine since it is not certified and tested on BootCamp Windows OS. And already CPU usage of FMLE on that machine is high. We recommend only 75% CPU power consumption of a system for FMLE to work properly.
So first of all you need to take high power Windows based Machine to support your encoding.

  • FMLE Out of Memory?

I am planning on streaming video live tonight and have run into a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I successfully installed FMLE on my Windows Vista machine.  I was able to successfully test it with my webcam and the streaming server received the signal.  Suddenly today, whenever I open FMLE, I'm getting a small error window that pops up and all it says is 'out of memory'. No error codes, no other information.  I'm running 4 GB of Ram and not running any other applications.  I've got more than 20 GB of space on my C drive (where the program is running from) and more than 100 GB of space on my D drive (where the video is being saved while it is streaming).
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to resolve this?  We go live in 3 hours!
    Thanks,
    Rachel

i reckon you have already gone live, but i will provide my 2 cents anyway.
Its probably not FMLE problem but rather the capture device filter which has returned a COM error of OUTOFMEMORY. If you really want to test this out, you might need to use graphedit or some other graph building tool to stress test the filters to ensure they are operating correctly.
I would just reboot the server and pray the problem goes away.

  • Java jvm server mode memory leak out of memory crash

    Hi,
I am using java version "1.6.0_13" on a windows 2003 server.
    I am running apache-tomcat-6.0.18 PermSize:256M HEAP:1G
If tomcat is started with java with client mode vm, the site works very well!
Requests are processed without problems and memory heap will stabilize on 500M.
I like to use the server mode. If I start the tomcat with server mode, then
the web application work better (30% faster), but memory heap will increase
increase more than the 500M about the 1G and then the tomcat process crash.
    Questions:
    A) Is normal that memory will increase? If client mode need 500M then 1G for
server mode is not enought? Should I increase the heap? How much?
    B) Is a know problem? Is server option for windows not good supported?
I have double checked the problem. If I return to the client mode then the
tomcat will run without problem (excluding some software change problems)
No use of native code (JNI).
    C) How to track better what happens in server mode? If there is a bug or is normal?
Please help me. Thanks in advance.

this problem may arise if u r using a windows 95 series of OS. after starting the dos window, go to that windows properties and increase the memory allocations to maximum, dont let it be at auto. I think this should help u

  • RoboHelp 9 gives an out of memory error and crashes when I try to import or link a Frame 10 file or

I have Tech Suite 3. If I start a new RoboHelp project and try to import or link Frame files, RoboHelp tries for a while, then I get an Out of Memory error and the program crashes.
I opened one of the sample projects and was able to link to one of my frame files without any problem, so it seems to be an issue with creating something new.
    Any suggestions?

It happens when I create a new project and then try to import or link frame docs to make up the content. It starts scanning, then crashes. I did get it to the conversion setting page once, but no further.
It does not happen if I open one of the supplied example projects and link a file. But then it doesn't let me choose, during import, any style mapping. And I can't delete the sample project fold
Twice now it has told me when I tried to import (not link, but import) that my .fm file could not be opened, and told me to verify that Frame is installed (it is) and that the file is a valid frame file (it is).
The docs and project are in separate folders on my C: drive.

  • Adobe Illustrator "out of memory" when saving then crashes

We have a user who uses Illustrator.  Every once and a while she will have the issue where it says that it is out of Memory (RAM).  I checked and at that time she had over 4Gb of physical memory left and the Swap was at 0 of 8.6Gb.  Am I reading the memory wrong or is something else the issue?  Also the CPU was at 5% used and the hard drive has almost 600Gb free.  She is using a USB 3.0 external hdd to open and save to.  When it crashes the below error is given.

It doesn't happen every time and it is different files.  I can't get the user to only keep stuff on the computer.  Do you think that is the issue?  It used to work fine for months then now it just started doing this on a pretty regular basis, but I can't find anything that I can do to make it repeatable.

  • Sequence-RenderOnly-Mixdown crashes - Out Of Memory

Out of Memory trying to use FCE Sequence->RenderOnly->Mixdown.
The video that crashes is 19:30 min in length (and others as well). Plenty of memory (actual=3GB: recognized as 2GB: SysSettings->Memory&Cache shows 1649Mb = 90%); Plenty of disk set as FCE Scratch - external FW400 drive with 228Gb available.
Deleted the Scratch Audio cache folders before trying the mixdown.
    Suggestions?

    Thanks for your suggestions.
I am running FCE 3.0.1 and QT 7.1.2.
Yesterday I tried importing the raw files in two ways: (1)through MackTheRipper and (2)through the linux box/copying across the net. DropDV seems to be the only way to convert the raw files to .dv, so I used it. At that point QT can play the individual .dv files with no problem. FCE can open both sets of .dv files, and the waveform shows sound is present (which dragging the pointer along the timeline confirms.) FCE can play the individual .dv files through the Viewer with no problem.
I added everything to the Timeline and started an audio mixdown. When FCE gave the OutOfMemory error, I ran vmmap through Terminal, and the process showed 3Gb from malloc (YIKES!), so I guess that it really is Out Of Memory!
At your suggestion, I downloaded a copy of Cocktail and restarted. FCE again crashes with the same OOM error after ten minutes or so.
This whole problem started because of audio dropouts in completed QT files. Unfortunately, I have pitched the .dv file sets for the projects that have completed successfully without the Mixdown - it would be informative to know whether Mixdown would work on them.
I guess the next step seems to be to deepsix FCE and reinstall. (This is beginning to remind me of microsoft products...)

  • Manager keeps crashing - out of memory

I'm getting tired of restarting oc4j due to it running out of memory. It seems I can work in the manager for a day or two and it crashes. I've increased the MaxPermSize from 512 to 1024, but that still isn't working. I'm sure I'm not the only one running into this since it's happening on more than one OVM environment. What are the typical configuration changes made to the manager either using the manager template or manager installer?

    keithrust wrote:
Very interesting Avi. How much of the 12 GB of RAM are actually used? I'm using 2 since that's what the documentation called out. I suspect if I increase the RAM it would work better, which means to me the minimum requirements need to be increased. No idea, I'm afraid. We've never had a cause to look at the memory usage of that server, as we've never had any issues with it. I'm at home at the moment (ah, timezones) and it's a long weekend, so I'll only be back onsite next Tuesday.

  • Out of memory error. Throughput zero. Server crashes

    Hi,
We have this issue about 'java.lang.outofmemory' error, which brings down the
nodes one at a time. The logs don't help at all.
At the time of crash follows:
    - Memory shows fine on weblogic console. It cruises flat at approx 160 megs. We
    have ms
    and mx heap of 512megs.
    - jdbc connections on the console show 15 and we have set initial of 15 and max
    of 95.
    - throughput shows zero on the console
    - queue length just spikes and goes like 50+ till the server finally crashes.
    - weglogic.log has an entry of jdbc connection leak, which doesn't make sense.
    - then a large number of out of memory statements are printed out.
It is our existing application, which worked fine. We put in small additional
features which don't really do any big thing. We have already checked our connection.close()
statements. We are closing all the connections to return them back to the pool.
    Our environment is as follows:
    OS: Win2k

    HI,
here i only want to inform that i'm using JRockit java version "1.4.1_03" rather
    than jdk.
I wonder is it "-XX:MaxPermSize" cannot be set in JRockit??This option is not available for JRockit - may be it uses different heap structure.
When your server runs out of memory - how much heap is available.

    Slava,
Thanks for the info. We added -XX:MaxPermSize=128m and it worked. Bingo.
As you said, the parameter MaxPermSize specifies memory for long lived
    objects.
Also, what I heard from someone in BEA, that this memory allocationis
    something
aside from the heap assigned with -ms and -mx parameters. What I would
    really
appreciate is if anyone can talk about any benchmark for this parameter.
    The jvm
tuning recommendations for wls 6.1 on BEA's website (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/perform/JVMTuning.html#1104200)
    doesn't mention this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Abbas,
Try to add -XMaxPermSize=64M to JVM startup parameters. That will
increase heap size allocaed for long-living objects. If you don't
    have
    an
application-caused memory leak, this should fix the problem.

  • How can I trap Out- of-Memory data with no crash after Crop Tool fails to finish?

The Photoshop 6 beta program froze while using the crop tool on an image size of 8052x5368. I tried to save a file in another program while waiting for the crop to finish (usually about 1 second) and got an out-of-memory error. I checked the D: driv where the file in the other program was saved. I have a flash C: drive and is not selected in the scratch disk preference. Two scratch disks, E: and G:, are selected with a total of about 800GB free space. After closing PS6Beta, the D: drive recovered about 164GB. The D: drive is not selected in the Scratch Disk list. I work with larger files and anticipate this problem again. How can I trap information for Adobe next time?

The problem remains for how the c: and d: drives were not selected in the scratch disk list. I tried again with only E: and G: drives and the file completed after 20 minutes with a 27.7G file. It would have been an ovious problem if the "info" diaglog box included the projected file size and/or dimensional units (px or in) because I use the dialog for verifying the size of the image. I wanted to make a 300 x400px image rather than a 300x400inch image( 90000x120000px).

According to this log, process "dropbox" triggers oom-killer, which has the effect of killing X because it's the most memory-hungry process (833 Mb, I think).
Does it stop if you stop dropbox?
No. But even now X org averages almost 2gb and eventually goes up to 3gb.
Do you have a swap partition?
    no

On Intel, I had some similar (but not exact) problems crop up recently.  Turning off testing helped.
    Nah, no testing.
It feels like a bug, but it seems like I'm only the one. Not sure what could of changed.

  • InDesign CS 6 keeps crashing "out of memory" ???

    Hi
I am having trouble with InDesign CS 6.
It does not respond. I can open a document, but as soon as I select a tool it starts hanging. I then have to use Windows task manager to end CS 6.
After the 5th time of ending CS 6 and receiving the message "Adobe InDesign is out of memory "  I updated InDesign and recieved the following  error code:
Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update
Update is not applicable. Error Code: U44M1P28.
InDesign is still hanging and I still have to use Windows task manager to quit the program.
Would it help if I reinstall InDesign?
This has never happend to me before.
Please help me with this, I have extreme amounts of work that needs to be completed this weekend as I am on a tight deadline for Monday morning

  • Out Of memory in prod

One of the prod clusters is running on below crashed both nodes with an out of memory exception which looks like below.
How do we get to know if the crash is due to a memory leak in the code or elsewhere?
Any inputs which helps to identify on the issue and submit data to application team supporting the need to update the systems is appreciated.

We are seeing memory leaks in our application, this is causing Out of Memory exception after every 5-7 days in prod environment. We tried to analyse our application with JPROBE and these are our findings...
    1) Once these session is expiring, all application objects are getting garbage collected.
    2) We are seeing huge increase in String and Char[] with each submitted applicationWhere are these coming from?
Are you using any libraries like JAXB? Are you binding XML to objects?
We are using Weblogic 10.0 with jdk version 1.5.0_06. Are there any known String related memory leak issues.
My understanding is that unless we are using any static variable or application scope objects we should have any memory leakage.Apparently not.
Can someone please validate if this understanding is correct? The JVM is telling you that it's incorrect. Believe the evidence you have before you.
Your JVM settings might help. What are the settings for the GC? How big is your perm space, and how is that changing with time?
What could be other possible causes of memory leaks? We are also using private static ThreadLocal variablesSounds like the perm space is exploding in size. It fills up and you're done.
I'd recommend that you download JVMStat from Sun and watch what memory is doing as you run your test. It's not a nice graphic view of eden, old & new gen, and perm spaces that will give you an idea of what's going on. It won't tell you why. Keep drilling down with JProbe.
