FMS as a solution Now?

I've tried this forum before with no <3 so far. I hope this time I can get some help from the community...
I'm building out the baseline demo for a startup and I was hoping to use FMS as a solution, but our service will require that live video and DVR'd video (saved for VOD is OK too) be available from IOS devices (iPad, iPhone). I absolutely have to have a solution (however kludged for now) that enables us to deliver live streaming video on these devices.
I've been using FMS on EC2 in both "production" and development environments and have HTTP Dynamic streaming to Strobe, but a flash player this isn't very helpful to me - I'm good with RTMP in these cases.
I need this solution so that I can demo now. My option, for the moment, is too look at other solutions.
Examples, helpful docs, an official Adobe release date on the functionality would be super.

I'm not sure, but I know it's not recommended to upgrade to iOS 8 on anything older than an iPhone 5. I only lost my music playlists and music that was on my phone, but that music is also on my iTunes, not the playlists though, and I don't want to go through ALL my iTunes library to fix it either... But it seems I don't have a choice right now.
Whatever you do, do NOT upgrade to iCloud Drive, keep iCloud till OS X Yosemite comes out, if your computer is a Mac. I also just noticed that all my documents on my phone are gone from Pages, BUT if I go on the iCloud website they are still there. Hopefully it will all work itself out when I can update my macbook pro to OS X Yosemite.
If you backed up your phone and all your purchases off your iPhone prior to trying to upgrade you should be fine... But I'm not even remotely sure.

Unfortunately it looks like your 3GS' battery has expanded so much that it cracked the whole case wide open. If you have AppleCare on your device then you're all set, just take it to your local Apple Store.
If not, then still take it to the store. Complain about the battery bursting, and make sure to tell them that it's for sure a defect (you'd think it's obvious, but sometimes you just need to drive the point in), and that it potentially could have been and still be a hazard.
Remind them that the phone has not been in any adverse conditions, extreme temperatures, or abused in any way but that you just merely used it normally. (I'm assuming that's the truth?)
If they're good about it they should replace the broken phone for you; but unfortunately there's little chance of repairing your current device.

I'm sorry for your frustration. You have an ExportPDF subscription, which you can use to convert PDF files to Word format. It does not allow you to remove pages from as PDF and create a new PDF. It looks like you may have placed an order for an Acrobat subscription today, but it has not processed. Once it does, you can download and install Acrobat, and then use it to extract pages from a PDF (choose Extract from the Pages pane on the Tools panel).

LIRC / KDE freezing for months, need a solution now!

First of all I've been following these two threads until no one has posted anymore

Actually, for me, they have been too general in the sense that most everyone has found a completely different solution, for some it was ATI, some Nvidia, some Gnome, some had solved it with specific modules like wifi. But I need answers for mine and since I have no clue if it's kernel / module related, hardware, software or ever where to look anymore (newbie forever!) I'm posting to the Newbie forum.
And this is how it looks:
Around November last year my computer started freezing, AMD64 2,6GHz desktop, 4GB RAM, Nvidia onboard graphics, all about 3 y.o. including the installation of Arch Linux x86-64. Until now I never had a problem. Then it all came down. It froze so often causing me to do so many hard resets that I eventually lost about 100GBs of data, only some of which I could recover. And it continued to freeze, so over the holidays I reinstalled Arch 64 and KDE, this time however alongside Ubuntu - just in case... In the beginning it froze up mostly while playing audio or video in Amarok and XBMC, but this is what I usually do with it anyway, often just surfing in Opera or Chromium, occasionally moving files and sometimes just clicking anywhere with the mouse will do the trick.
And this is what I have attempted to solve this, well, besides a completely new installation, I have tried downgrading many packages, removed daemons, switched to linux-lts, tried the nouveau driver, tried different audio backends, removing unneeded gstreamer plugins, switched off compositing, removed my dot kde directory, created a new user - all without absolutely any difference in behavior.
Then I thought it might very well be a hardware issue althought I have to say this - Ubuntu has not crashed even once. Over the weekend I left Ubuntu running for 3 days and found it just as I left it, then booted in to Arch, went to play softball for a couple of hours and came back to a frozen system. I also installed a case fan, bought a new Nvidia card but nothing has changed. When it freezes I can reboot and it will run for another few hours, so it can't be too hot.
This is a real nightmare and I cannot find anything in the logs, only an occasional suspicion that leads to nowhere. My suspicions now are powersaving and evdev. I really don't know where else to look so I am asking the help of the Arch community to have a look at what I have previously posted in the aforementioned threads in addition to my description here and tell me which logs you would like to see. Experimenting hat taken some time, but I can confirm that Gnome freezes too when lircd is running.

Alternative external hard drive solution now that FW is gone?

Okay, so I purchased my new Macbook without totally thinking through the implications of the lack of FW. I'm now using this shiny new computer and went to do a first time backup after reinstalling applications and files manually (I've had some software conflicts for awhile and did a painful reinstall to fix these which seemed to work). I plugged in my G-Tech mini backup drive to the USB port and... nada. After reading online discovered that USB ports generally cannot power a drive over 160GB without an external source!?!?? So, now my portable computer is no longer portable because I have to lug around an AC adapter to make the backup drive work. I won't get into the merits of FW and using the BUS power to avoid having to have an AC adapter, I know that is being hotly debated in other threads. So, having my limited knowledge, I'm going to just ask is there anyway to have a functioning backup drive (over 160GB) that can backup and boot without AC power? Anyone know of a drive that can draw enough power from the USB port to allow it to operate? I'm already bummed about the loss of Target Mode option but can live without that if I can get the drive to backup/boot from USB without an AC adapter being schlepped along. I'm afraid the answer is not going to be a good one, but thanks for any feedback.

I use a Verbatim FireWire/USB 250GB hard drive ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/TR043ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0Nw&mco=MjE1NDcyMw&p=2& s=topSellers ), which draws its power from the USB port. I use this with a MacBook Air, and have it partitioned into four partitions (Startup, Utilities Startup, Time Machine Backup, Data). I use SuperDuper! ( http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html ) to create bootable backups of my MacBook Air's Startup partition and Utilities Startup partition) and Time Machine to backup to the Time Machine Backup partition on the USB external drive.
I don't leave the external USB drive connected, but rely upon the Time Machine application to remind me every 10 days to backup. At that time, I attach the USB drive, let Time Machine do its thing, then run SuperDuper! to update the two bootable backups I noted above.
In summary, I run my MacBook Air from its Startup partition for everyday stuff. I have a Utilities Startup partition where I have my software tools installed to perform the occasional repair of the startup partition (haven't needed it yet, though). I use Time Machine to back up the Startup partition to the external USB Time Machine partition every 10 days, and I use SuperDuper! to backup the MacBook Air's Startup and Utilities Startup partitions to their respective USB backup partitions once Time Machine finishes every 10 days.
This is overkill, but I still remember the days in the '80s when drives crashed and destroyed data on a regular basis, so I take no chances anymore.
So, to answer your question, YES, there are bus powered USB drives that you can use as bootable and Time Machine backups. Just format the drives for GUID, decide on the number of partitions you want, and you're set.

I spent several overnights and later realized that the edit that would activate the download link is not in the SOURCE category but rather in the SETTINGS with 11g edition. When I changed the setting I had it perfectly. Thanks so much to all of you. I really enjoy the Apex Forum though I am new in Oracle.
Howbeit; what should I do to have the picture always displayed on the form so that whenever the particular form is opened the image would be seen? Looking forward for the solution.

I have two buttons: Run Report and Reset Report
I have two branches which operate on When button pressed.
Run Report - sets showvalue to show
Reset Report - sets showvalue to hide
I have a hidden item on the page called showvalue
The region is set to conditional display
ConditionType Value of Item in Expression1 = Expression2
Expression 1 is my hidden item (showvalue)
Expression 2 is set to Show
showvalue is initially set in a computation to the value 'HIDE'

NEED ARCHIVE SOLUTION NOW!!!

We are ready to cut the check for purchasing FCS, but after seeing a demo of FCS, we were informed that a Superloader 3A LTO3 wouldn't work for archiving. Is that correct or did I hear that incorrectly?
We work in a sports facility and have hundreds of hours of game footage from our own Jumbotrons and broadcast feeds. Our goal is to have the current season's footage and the previous years footage up on our SAN and into FCS. When we move on to the next season, we want to archive the footage from 2 years prior, but keep the proxy files within FCS so we can search them.
If the Superloader 3A LTO3 does work, when you go to archive clips onto it, does it know when to switch the tape? And after the autoloader is full and you stick the LTO3 on a shelf, will FCS know that it isn't in the autoloader?

FCS will not manage your tape library directly, you will have to employ another software product to do that for you, Time Navigator or Bak Bone can get your volumes across to tape and catalogue them. To make use of the 'archive' function in FCS for this scenario, you have to create an 'archive device' and then ensure that is backed up. When you archive assets in FCS, they'd be moved to the archive device, the backup would then run, and after it completes you could then delete the files from the archive volume. FCS will think they are still there and maintain access to your proxy content and metadata, but you would have to restore them from tape before you ran restore in FCS.
Unless you must use tape, you should definitely consider going disk to disk for your backups which is much more elegant. We use Object Matrix MatrixStore to manage our backups directly from Final Cut Server. MatrixStore is software that allows us to create a cluster of secure redundant storage out of a Xserves and RAID hardware. You don't have to use expensive, new or particularly fast hardware for this, we used our old PPC metadata controllers and Xserve RAIDs to build a cluster.
Integration with FCS is built in, and offers you some advantages over tape, for instance we set a production status 'For archive', and all assets within are moved to the cluster, but the proxy content is still viewable and asset metadata still searchable. Then, restoring individual assets is just a right click away, or restore the whole production in the same way.

I have been waiting since months for the new IPad4G 64 Gbt. ON recommendation of Apple Support I have changed my IPad 4G last week in the hope that something was wrong with the firts one I bought.
The one I have now has the same problems. WiFi is working however 4G not at all. Apple what can I do? What are you doing for the thausands of German Apple fans who have bought a IPad4G and can not use it. We need a solution NOW. I´m working with this tool and need to be able to rely on it.

Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 still crashes after beginning of encoding - bugs for months now!

Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 is still crashing after beginning of encoding! In my case this bug exists for months now and Adobe is not able to get rid of its own programming faults! The user pays a lot of money for the license and doesn't get a functioning software! I spent days to get a solution now, but NOTHING of your suggested help works!
This is my 'support' history beginning in AUGUST (!):

Concise problem statement: Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Go to Premiere Media Export
2. Stating Media Export Parameters for ME
3. Starting ME
4. Define video title and path
5. Start Media Encoder CC rendering
6. ME states 'Preview not available'
7. Rendering aborts after about 15 sec.
8. Media Encoder CC crashes, no matter which kind of video! Every time.
9. Direct 'Export' from Premiere CC is possible with all the same parameters, but CC AME crashes!
10. Also installed Premiere CS 6 Media Encoder WORKS without any problems, but not the CC Media Encoder!!
Expected results: Media Encoder CC WORKING. This is still my expected result as a paying customer!
My steps to solve these problems (with Adobe's help) were / are:
- Cleant every suggested media cashes.
- Tried to render the sequences also without audio.
- Tried to render as one pass.
- Even if I try just to export ONE simple standard SONY PMW EX1 mp4 file which should never cause problems it chrashes, also without audio.
- Also if I clean all preferences and caches before, EVERY file type crashes, no matter if I try to export a video or a still picture.
- This is not happening in Adobe AME CS6 with the same files, but in CC!! CS6 still renders reliably with preview, but CC crashes without being able to show any preview.
- Held the Shift key down while starting AME. This should reset preferences and so on...
- Deleted suggested "7.0" directories as described in other forum posts concerning this topic.
- Logged out of my CC account.
- Deinstalled and reinstalled PPro, After Effects, InDesign, Flash, using Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. All is the newest version 7.2.
- Set GPU renderer to "Software Only". Some video cards have issues when GPU is set to "OpenCL" or "CUDA".
- Checked updates available for video driver. Latest is installed.
- Turned off "Enable Native Premiere Pro sequence import" in AME prefs.
- AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt doesn't have any content, not a single line.
NOTHING WORKED OR HELPED!
