FMS not restarting when rebooting

Hi Everyone
I have a problem when rebooting the computer: Flash Media Server will not restart automatically after rebooting.
During installation I've set the server to run as a daemon, yet it doesnt seem to start up automatically.
It's a bit strange because I can actually connect to the admin console, and even 'restart' the server from there, yet when I try to stream content it will not connect. The only way I can start the server is through the command line.
This is what I'm running:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 8)
- Linux 2.6.9-89.0.3.ELsmp #1 SMP Sat Jun 13 07:05:54 EDT 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
- Flash Media Streaming Server 3.0.1 r123
After rebooting, these are the processes that are running:

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is this a known problem with FMSS 3.0.1?

That's strange, especially since the right processes are running. Perhaps there's something in the logs about what happens, have you take a look through /var/log/messages and the FMS logs? Particularly look for the master log mentioning that it's trying to start a core - that should be the sign of the connection, and you can check the access log too to see if the connection is even getting in.

You need to connect to iTunes and restore.

You may need to put the device into recovery mode, this is covered in the link on this page.
Did you back up the device?

You will have to use frames which in itself is a bad idea.
IMO music that
plays automatically is a terrible idea. It is likely to drive
away many
visitors and is unlikely to retain even a single visitor.
Avoid frames. Drop the music. You'll be happy you did.

Downloading additional components for fresh reinstall of lion but does not restart when done

i've attempted to reinstall a fresh copy of lion because ever since i had lion, my dmg files wont open, software would not update and many other problems. So i tried reinstall and i waited hours for them to download additional components. the bar is completely blue (completed) but it would not restart. do i restart it manually?

Manually shut it down.
I would then first reset the SMC:
Shut down and unplug the Mac.
Keep the Mac unplugged for at least fifteen seconds.
Plug the Mac back in and do not turn it back on for at least five seconds.
Press the power button to turn the Mac back on.
Then I would reset the PRAM by rebooting the iMac while simultaneously holding the Command-Option-P-R keys until the machine restarts a second time.
Let us know if these procedures don't solve the problems.

PO Workflow is not restarted when changed by Approver

PO workflow is not restarted.
Scenario (<= 100K 1approver, > 100K 2approver)
Purchaser created PO Document > 100K so there's 2 approvers.
1st approver - approves the document
2nd approver - changes the amount to < 100K. Needs only 1 approver
                  - clicks on back to purchaser
Purchaser - clicks change button
               - view approval preview (approver 1 is displayed still marked as approved)
              - clicks on back to approver
What should be the system behavior?
- Approver 1 inbox?
- PO marked as approved?
SRM currently passes the PO document to the 2nd approver's inbox. I've already set the security level to LOW but still the WFL changes doesn't trigger the workflow to restart.
Any ideas?

My initial thought is that this is brilliant. Approver 1 has already approved a higher amount, why would he/she want to be bothered again if the amount is lowered. So unless you have a specific requirement for new approval I wouldn't recommend viewing this as a problem. It's a feature to reduce the workload, you should charge a premium
One thing must of course be checked: If approver 1 is different for a 1-lever approval than for a 2-level approval, the PO must be sent to the new person for approval.
I don't know if this, i.e. different first-level approvers, is possible for PO approval, but I know it is possible for Release for Payment (FI).

Gnome 3 - disable GDM restarting when rebooting

When I reboot from Gnome 3 (fallback mode), GDM restarts in the process of shutting down. To explain it more clearly, this is what happens:
1.) I go to "User menu", then press "Shut Down...". A windows appears with various choices. I select "Restart".
2.) Gnome 3 closes down
3.) For a brief moment I see tty1
4.) GDM starts, user login window appears
5.) GDM closes down
6.) I see tty1 again. At this point sometimes steps 4 and 5 repeat again.
7.) System shuts down
I have gdm in daemons list (rc.conf) and my .xinitrc has nothing about gdm in it. I noticed something similar when using SLiM; when I had it in my daemons list (not the same system) and killed it later from tty2, it would automatically restart itself.
Any ideas?

Have you tried to remove it from the daemons list in rc.conf and start it from /etc/inittab?

FMS not working when only item chaning is drop down.

I'm having an issue on 2005A where I have a FMS in place the sets a date if another field changes.
Sent: Y/N (Drop Down Box)
Dt: FMS to set to date if sent = Y
The issue is this, if you open the sales order and do nothing else but drop down sent and set to Y the FMS does not fire.
After it is set to Y, you change it to N then change to Y it works.
If you alter any field anywhere else first, then change the sent to Y it works.
Has anyone else experienced this ? Is there a work around?

U_Extract: Values Y - Yes, N - No. Default = (N)
U_ExtDate: Datefield.
FMS Query:
IF $[ORDR.U_Extract] = 'Y'
select getdate()
FMS is set to Auto Refresh when U_Extract changes.
Open the sales order and do nothing but click the drop down for U_Extract, change to Y, update... NOTHING.
Change any other field, then choose the drop down and select Y and it works.

Solaris intel (x86) DCA not saving when rebooted.

I'm working with a Panasonic CF-71 toughbook laptop. I have loaded the 2.6 Solaris intel OS and the Xig PCMCIA patch. I have been successful in getting a 3Com 3C589D card to work, but only if I enter into DCA at boot time and delete the PnP ISA PCMCIA device at port 3e2-3e3 and then add a ISA PCMCIA device at port 3e2-3e3. Unfortunately this must be done every time the system is rebooted. Does any one know of a way to do this delete/add using the /etc/system file? Any help is much appreciated.

I have download Solaris 9 x86 and Cd1 at boot time gives the same error as you mentioned. I am using my Toshiba Satellite A60. I have check the HDL list and its not listed there. Does it mean I can not install Solaris 9 x86 on this box. When I boot I get the same error which is mentioned above.
For more information I never installed Solaris in past and have no idea which Disk space /partition to be created it talks about in Install Guide.
Can some please clarify and do let me know where am I going wrong and how to fix it.

Workflow process does not restart when re-ordering a PO

We are running SRM 7.0 with Process Controlled Workflow and have configured N-Step approval process for PO.
When the PO is ordered for the first time, the approver determination and the approval process work as expected. However, after the PO has been ordered, and the user makes changes to the ordered PO and re-orders it, the PO's approver list does not get refreshed, and the PO header shows the following staled information in "Approval" tab with "current status" = "Finished" -
Process Step Status Processor
SRM Purchase Order Approval Approved <approver user name>
And the PO would go into "Awaiting Approval" status but the PO work item does not appear in anybody's UWL.
Any hints regarding the possible cause of this behavior are appreciated.

check in the BBP_PD the changed version po generated. there you will see if any WFL started or not. Or take the PO change version GUID and go at SWI6/swi1 to check the WFL log.
At SLG1 should appear also, check if at table /SAPSRM/C_WF_CST you have the trace level set to 1. This will make slg1 take all logs (green and red).
You can also always force a restart via BADI /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_PROC_RESTART

Why server is not restarted when JSP is modified?

And in case of Servlet changes why do we have to restart the server?

hi,
when you request that corresponding JSP file.. then it will convert into servlet coding and compile then its executed..
so no need to restart the web server
but if you modify the servlet, that changes will reflect while you restart the webserver only.. bcoz then only that new modified class will be handled by the webserver
Note: sometimes even that new (modified) file too will not updated.. at that time you have to delete all under tomcatx.x\work\localhost

WF does not restart when requester accept changes

We have a problem with the non badi Workflow in SRM Server 5.0 (even with a 1 step Workflow WS10000129). When a approver (bbp_wfl_security = low)changes the Quantity or the Price the changed shopping cart returns to the Inbox of the requester. When the requester goes into his inbox and looks at the approval preview for the changed shopping cart in the graphic mode the result is Approved. When the requester clicks on Accept changes the shopping cart disappears out of his inbox. The shopping cart does not go to the approver again. The shopping cart becomes not a purchase order. We would expect that the workflow would restart after the requester clicks on Accept Changes however now it is a black box.

What type of Workflow is used in the ystem - Item level Workflow or SC Workflow. ?
Couple of reasons can be behind this.
1) Either the BADI code in custom implementation is incorrect.
2) start conditions for Workflows and sub-workflows are not correctly determined.
3) Missing OSS note / Bug in ths system.

Local zones do not start when rebooting gobal zone

HMy solaris host had been working well. Then all in a sudden, all local zones do not start automatically after I reboot the system. Did anybody see this before? Thanks.

I found the status of svc:/system/zones:default is offline. With this status, zones will not autoboot regardless of zones configuration. But I cannot enable the service. After I execute the following command
# svcadm enable svc:/system/zones:default
the status of that service is still offline. Any idea?

I press sleep - wake button and it will not start

Then try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. This should reboot the phone.

Mac Mini will not restart when told to

Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with my Mac in terms of restarting. Occasionally, and mostly after it hasn't been turned off in quite some time, I will hit restart from the Apple logo and once clicking the "Yes I do want to restart it" box, nothing happens.
This has happened quite a few times and I will usually get so frusterated that I'll yank the power cord from the back and turn it on from there. I don't know exactly what's causing this problem, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's sometimes the case that if a Mac won't sleep or shut down, it's because it is running something that it can't interrupt.
First thing I'd look at is Activity Monitor (in the applications/utilities folder). With this running so you can see all the processes the system is running, try shutting down, and then watching Activity Monitor to see if any process is actively loading the CPU.
Let us know what that shows.

HT4061 ipad 2 does not restart when battery is fully discharged and has been put on charge - any one have a solution?

Ipad 2 - battery has fully discharged - connected to mains charger but no sign of charging and will not retstart on button press.
Tried re set and holding both buttons independently.
Tried other chargers taht are working with other iPads.
Any ideas?

Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.
