If you want more than 10 connections, you need to buy a
license. Using more than one developer edition is a violation of
the EULA.

  • Installing FMS on Webserver

    Hello .. I tried to install FMS2 on a Webserver, but I was a
    completely failure ;)
    Can anyoner tell me, how I can install it, that it works ..
    on my local server it works !!! Or does it only works on local
    server ???

    Hi Seife aus karscht (am I right, this sounds a bit german
    - nope , FMS works great on remote servers...that's what it
    does in several 100s (or even several 1000s ) of installations.
    You claim yours does not work and you ask about the
    reasons.......
    You should provide a bit more information than you did until
    now. If you want to receive serious help this is necessary. This
    forum is filled with helpfull people, but none of them (as far as I
    know) is using a chrystal ball or simmilar. So, at the actual
    state, nobody will be able to answer your request in a valuable
    way.
    Drop some more details about the problem and describe what
    you did. A good idea is to add information about the OS on wich you
    installed FMS on and what Applikation refuses to work. Maybe you
    received any error messages while installing FMS, or does your your
    Application report any errors or tracebacks?
    Maybe there is a logfile reporting details.... ?
    Seei t from this perspective : What do you think is
    necessary, if you like to help somebody in your situation ? What
    would you request him/her to give to you.... ? Think it over and
    post what you know. Maybe then, you find somebody helping you....(

  • Strange problem after share a port with My webserver and FMS

    My webserver is running, and I want to use rtmpt(80 port) to player a video. So I did as same as:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/configadmin/WS02f7d8d4857b167770a4686812a808b 6918-8000.html
    If you want Flash Media Server and your web server to share a port, set up Flash Media Server as the proxy, put your web server on an unused port, and change the  fms.ini HTTPPROXY_HOST setting to point to that port.
    httpd.conf
    Listen *:8080

    Everything is ok except when a post a form.
    When I submit a form, the website send me a “application/x-fcs” type empty file let me download file.

  • Can FMS coexist on a Windows IIS webserver?

    I'm new to video streaming and to FMS. I have a client that
    has been streaming VOD on a MS Server 2003 box but is not satisfied
    with the performance, in particular the substantial delay in the
    delivery while Windows Media Services buffers to the end user. This
    delay is apparent even with Advanced Fast Start. More particularly
    although enabling AFS does shorten the lag, it seems to do so by
    serving up a smaller image.
    Looking around for a way to improve their delivery I
    encountered FMS. Without giving it too much thought (always a bad
    thing) I downloaded and installed FMS to give it a try. Surprise.
    Apache stopped all of their websites! Very dumb of me! Promptly
    diagnosed. Stopped Apache & restarted the websites. Now the
    question.
    Is it possible to have FMS running concurrently on a Windows
    IIS server, or would I need to install a completely separate box
    for them to do this? And, if it is possible, what's the best
    practice to accomplish the task?
    Thanks for reading.

    >>The problem is that both FMS and IIS want to bind to
    port 80.
    I am hitting a similar problem as well using a FMS and IIS on
    XP pro during development. But until FMS 3.5 I have never had a
    conflict between IIS and FMS with both on the localhost. I've used
    2.0 and 3.0 without problems. (And since it is localhost, FMS
    should be connecting on port 1935 instead of 80 ).
    But as of FMS 3.5 I am seeing there is a conflict for port
    80. I need to shut down FMS to start IIS, and *up until now* I
    could then start FMS without killing IIS (up until I rebooted). I
    was passing through the forums when I saw this thread. I'm thinking
    this is being introduced by Apache, although *supposedly* it is
    turned off by the default install. Or could this be FMS listening
    on 80? It seems odd to me that previous versions worked without
    this snag. Anyone else hit this problem?

  • Unable to stream SMIL files unless the html page, swf file and the smil ffile are on the FMS server.

    When I place the .swf, smil and http files on the FMS server the SMIL stream test sample works fine
    But When I move the files to my web server I get Connection error.
    This is the same issue discussed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/554107
    I added a ‘base’ variable but it did not work for me.
    The SMIL file has the correct path to the sample files and FMS server
         <meta base="rtmp://200.200.200.23/vod/" />
    I am able to stream files from my html file on my webserver not the FMS server by pointing to the FMS server at rtmp://200.200.200.23/vod/mp4:sample1_1500kbps.f4v
    Is this a domain security setting? If so, where do I change it?
    If not How do I get FMS to stream SMIL files without installing a webserver with FMS?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I think there is bug with that videoPlayer.swf which is used by index.html of webroot folder of FMS to play media files, its not able to parse smil file correctly. I used some other player and used the smil file and kept it on http server other than fms server so it was able to dynamically stream videos. So I would suggest you to create your own player which uses smil file. You can take help from the below link to create player:

  • Using FMS v4.5.5 with a browser-based audio player running on iPad/iPhone

    Hello,
    I’m seeking some clarity/guidance on using FMS v4.5.5 (Streaming Edition) with a browser-based audio player running on iPad/iPhone (i.e. under iOS).
    Background
    I have a Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Web Server running IIS v7.5 and supporting a website built using ASP.NET and C#. Parts of the website allow a visitor to play a selection of audio clips from our bespoke MP3 library. Due to UK music licencing constraints, we must stream the clip to the client browser – we must not download either part or all of the source MP3 file(s). We therefore had a custom audio player built for us some time ago using Flash/AS3. This has and continues to work very well, and uses RTMP to stream the clips from FMS to the client browser.
    As our site has become more established the number of visitors has steadily grown. In the early days the number of visitors from the iOS platform was relatively small but, last month, it had risen to 40%! As Flash is not supported on the iOS platform, this growing group of visitors are unable to fully maximise the benefits offered by the website, which I am now trying to address.
    What I’m Trying To Do…
    From what I’ve researched and read, I believe that FMS v4.5.5 supports HLS and I need to use this (instead of RTMP) over HTTP between FMS and the iOS Safari client. I have been experimenting with an Open Source player (JPlayer) and a commercial player (JWplayer) and appear to have these playing a MP3 file as a “progressive download” (I think that’s the right term) as all I’m doing is specifying the file path (no HTTP prefix etc.), i.e. the audio is not really being streamed as I require. Unfortunately, I’ve not found / worked out how to configure my FMS to respond to a path request along the lines of:
    http://www.myserver.com/live/audio1.mp3
    Hopefully someone reading this who is much more expert on FMS, HLS, HDS, HTML5, etc. than me can point me in the right direction!
    What I’m confused about…
    1) Can all my MP3 assets stay as is and still be streamed to the iOS Safari client? To the best of my knowledge, the key properties of my MP3 files are CBR, 44,100Hz, 320Kbps.
    2) If not, can they be converted on-the-fly by FMS or do I need to create additional audio assets to support HLS etc.?
    3) If I have to manually create additional audio assets, how do I do that (I’ve seen references to tools from both Adobe and Apple but not actually found the kits)?
    4) Some of the Adobe documentation I’ve read implies that FMS support for HLS etc. is only available when FMS is used in conjunction with the bundled Apache web server. As stated earlier, my entire site runs on IIS so does that mean to achieve what I want I’ll have to run two web servers on my physical server – IIS for the website itself and Apache for RTMP/HLS/etc.?
    5) What changes do I need to make to my current FMS configuration to get HLS to work? I’m sure someone has been here already and can enlighten me with their experience and hopefully point me to some straight forward documentation to follow!
    6) Lastly, and really part of (5), once I’ve got FMS configured correctly, what would be the typical path to a given MP3 audio file that I would give the iOS Safari browser to make this all work.
    I appreciate this is rather a lengthy first post but hopefully the background puts my questions (and confusion!) in context. Bottom line is… I simply want to be able to stream audio clips only (no video) to iOS Safari browsers from FMS v4.5.5 running on a Win2K8R2 platform with IIS v7.5, and with no audio content being stored (even temporarily) on the iOS platform.
    My thanks and appreciation in advance to anyone who can help me achieve this.

    Hi Apurva,
    Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I am not much further forward, despite having read more Adobe documentation (FMS v4.5 Configuration and Administration Guide, FMS v4.5 Developer’s Guide) and trying different configuration options.
    First to confirm a point you made when answering point 4 yesterday. Yes, in my current RTMP scenario I have several MP3 assets (let’s call them Audio1.mp3, Audio2.mp3, Audio3.mp3, etc.) that are made available to a bespoke Flash/AS3 player via the LIVE application. I understand that as I purchased the Streaming Edition of FMS v4.5, a Flash-based player is restricted to using the LIVE application. You go on to say that I “publish” these assets to the LIVE application. I set this up a while back but do not recall having to “publish” anything. All I recall doing was to ensure that all the assets (the .mp3 files) were in a single folder and that the folder was identified by the <Streams> tag in the following file (example shown):
    Flash Media Server 4.5\applications\live\Application.xml
                    <StreamManager>
                                    <VirtualDirectory>
                                                    <Streams>/;C:\MP3Library</Streams>
                                    </VirtualDirectory>
                    </StreamManager>
    To the best of my knowledge, I didn’t have to do anything else to make the current solution work. Having read more of the documentation I am still none the wiser as to what I need to do (step-by-step) to “publish” my converted MP3 assets (see next paragraph) to the LIVEPKGR application. Please could you explain these steps to me by way of an example.
    WRT your answer to point 1 yesterday, I wish to clarify the exact output I need to create when converting my MP3 assets. Am I expected to produce a Audio1.aac file, or a Audio1.mp4, file, or a Audio1.m4a file, etc.? Or am I meant to be using ffmpeg (either directly or indirectly) with a much more sophisticated command line that somehow generates stream-rated info/files as well? An example of how you would use ffmpeg to convert one of my MP3 assets would be very much appreciated.
    Lastly, the coexistence of IIS and Apache (ref your answer to point 2 yesterday). That all made sense but given all the testing/changes I’ve been making I thought it wise to start afresh! So I completely removed FMS from my dev server and re-installed Flash Media Streaming Server v4.5.5 with the bundled Apache v2.2 server. When presented with the dialogue “Would you like for Apache to listen on port 80. If not FMS will be using port 80 instead.” I answered NO. When presented with the dialogue regarding FMS server ports, I entered 1935 NOT 1935,80 (should I have done that as the preamble makes reference to HTTP webserver proxy and HTTP Dynamic Streaming origin services?). I then modified the Application.xml file as described above.
    To test the new set-up, I did the following. First, the test environment…
    DEV Server
    Windows Web Server 2008 R2 SP1
    IIS v7.5
    ASP.NET v4.0
    Flash Media Streaming Server v4.5.5
    Apache v2.2
    IE v9.0
    Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX v11.5.502.146
    TEST Client
    Apple iMac (Intel)
    Mac OS X v10.6.8
    Safari v5.1.7
    Adobe Flash Player 11 Plug-in v11.5.502.146
    On DEV Server… launched IE and loaded the home page of my website, which has two elements on it – one to load/run our bespoke Flash player, the other to run JPlayer (configured to use HTTP). I selected our bespoke Flash player and it played a MP3 audio file. I verified this in real-time via the FMS Admin Console on the server.
    On TEST Client… entered http://192.168.20.250:8134 into Safari – it comes up with the FMS install completed / test your server page. In the middle of the video display area a black box appears saying “10000 OK” – I clicked OK. I then clicked HDS Single Bitrate – the video plays (Not Using Hardware Acceleration is briefly displayed). There is NO activity logged in the FMS Admin Console back on the DEV server under “live”, “livepkgr” or “vod”. I assume this is because I’ve gone straight to the Apache Server via the port reference – is that correct? Next I tried the HLS Single Bitrate – same results.
    The HDS Single Bitrate logs the following in the Apache access_log file:
    "GET /hds-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.f4m HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    The HLS Single Bitrate logs this:
    "GET /hds-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.f4m HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.m3u8 HTTP/1.1" 304 - "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.m3u8 HTTP/1.1" 200 816 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4vFrag1Num0.ts HTTP/1.1" 200 1143416 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4vFrag1Num1.ts HTTP/1.1" 200 873072 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    "GET /hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4vFrag2Num2.ts HTTP/1.1" 200 1591984 "-" "Apple Mac OS X v10.6.8 CoreMedia v1.0.0.10K549"
    etc…
    At this point I’m stuck once again since I’m not clear how to construct the JPlayer HTTP reference. You have suggested:
    http://192.168.20.250:8134/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livestream/livestream.m3u8
    That produces the following in the Apache error_log file:
    [error] [client 192.168.20.4] File does not exist: D:/Program Files/Adobe/Flash Media Server 4.5/webroot/hls-live
    If I change the JPlayer HTTP reference to:
    http://192.168.20.250:8134/hls-vod/sample1_1500kbps.f4v.m3u8
    the audio from the video plays.
    Also, if I look in the applications\livepkgr folder structure there is only \events (with sub-folder _definst_ and sub-sub-folder liveevent) – there are no _definst_ , livestream , streams folders etc. So besides me not quite understanding the logic/flow here, I seem to be missing a few folders/files too! I’d be very grateful for any light you can shed on all this. Plus an example of what my HTTP string should ultimately look like; for example:
    http://192.168.20.250:8134/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/livestream/Audio1.m3u8
    Apologies for such a long reply but I’ve been at this for over 10 hours today! I feel I’m getting closer but clearly there are still some gaps and configuration errors.
    Thanks again for your time, support, patience and understanding.
    Kind Regards, Steve

  • Peoplesoft FMS Journal import error.

    Hi,
    We are getting following error during FMS Journal upload process in FMS 9.1 PT 8.52 Oracle 11gR2.
    A connection with the server could not be established
    https://peelweb.on.ca:8443/xmllink/FSPROD9
    This Journal upload was working fine before but today user said it is not working.
    How to fix it, What logs should I check now?
    Thanks.

    Still having problems?  If so, see if it's impacting more than one user, it's good data to have in order to pinpoint the problem.  Can this user hit the link you provided in a web browser and get any response?
    There is a log file, but if the error is no connection, maybe you aren't getting far enough to generate a log.
    $PS_CFG_HOME/webserv/peoplesoft/applications/peoplesoft/PORTAL/WEB-INF/psftdocs/ps/xmllinkservlet.log
    I'd start there.  If the browser test works, but the load still doesn't and others aren't having problems, I'd probably escalate to installing wireshark on the client and seeing if an outbound request is ever attempted.

  • Apache in FMS 4 Developer vs XAMPP Environment for PHP

    1.  Have a Flash Webpage under development designed to permit preview and streaming of FLV video.  Downloaded FMS Developer as a test server on my computer.  Apache 2.2 loads with it with a checkbox option to install it or not. I'm able to stream my video OK in this setup using RTMP://localhost and the FLVPlayback component in Flash Pro.  I like some of the OSMF players better like the one in the FMS Start Screen, but I haven't been able to integrate/embed it into my Flash webpage using the HTML provided.  They say just paste it to the webpage, but in ActionScript how do you do that?  None of the online help really explains how to embed Strobe Media Player into an FLA webpage using their HTML.
    2.  I plan to use PayPal Express Checkout for Digital Goods (EC/DG) as my pay facility on the Flash webpage. My videos will play to a cuepoint and then jump to a PayPal button which executes (EC/DG) .  I'm having trouble integrating PayPal with my Flash webpage.  There's a lot of online help, but most solutions involve PHP.  To help me understand PHP I bought the e-book, "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 for PHP" which recommends downloading the XAMPP platform which contains Apache, PHP, MySQL etc.  I have several questions concerning this:  (a) If I use the XAMPP software, as recommended in the Dreamweaver book, do I have to first uninstall the Apache that comes with FMS? I assume you can't have two Apache's running at the same time. (b) Is FMS the Server or is Apache the server in the FMS installation? (c) Does the Apache software installed with FMS include PHP and MySQL, which seems to be required for any server-side coding?
    You can see by some of these questions that I'm new to all this Server stuff.  I'm doing it myself because I can't afford to pay the $400 to $500 a month for a Video Streaming Host.  I want to use FMS with Amazon Web Services to implement my Streaming Video Project, but I'm not sure I can do it with all the problems I'm encountering.  Anybody know any "reasonable" developers?   ;-)
    Two final questions:
    3.  Why would I need Flash Builder if I have Dreamweaver?  Don't they do essentially the same thing?
    4.  Can I do everything I'm trying to do in 1 and 2 above just using ActionScript and JavaScript, which I understand is just Server-side ActionScript?
    I appreciate any help you can give me on any one or all of these issues.  Thanks

    1. backup your applications folder, fms.ini and any other config files that you have changed in the FMS install directory.
    2. uninstall FMS
    3. reinstall FMS and uncheck the option to install the bundled apache webserver . FMS should be installed on a seperate server as apache. Flashplayer uses port 80 and it  Will conflict adobe apparently bundles apache to be used as demo. I have never gotten PHP and all its modules such as gd to work on their version of apache. reinstall you applications folder and fms.ini(any thing else you backed up)
    4. install apache 2.2,PHP,PHP PEAR(if you ever want to send mail)  install  mysql and mysql workbench on the server machine.
    5. create a text document and change hide known file extensions in the windows folder options so you can change the text files extension to .html(myEmbedFile.html) paste the html provided into this file put it on the webserver and browse to it.
    Resources to keep in mind.
    1. You can use any desktop machine running windows that is has at least 512 mb of ram as development machine. I have installed all the above mentioned servers on desktop machines. I currently use a single quad core destop for all my delvelopment needs and because its a devlopment machine i took port 80 out of fms.ini and installed IIS,Mysql and FMS on it. Keep in mind if you are using windows 7 that you can install apache and PHP on it but I could not get GD (php graphics module) to install on it an currently use IIS. If you do all of this on Linux its not a problem but you may have to find a patch for FMS to get it to install.
    2. if you want to attach your ip adderess to a domain name use dyn.dns their client will autochange your IP address if your ISP gives you a new one or you change a nic card or for any other reason.
    You should do everything I've described above to be able to learn and create apps as effiecently and with as little hassle as possible.
    You can use a package such as  XAMPP to which will install all the above servers but i prefer to do it one by one and use config files without a config manager and I think its easier to install any sever modules I might want to use in the future to expand my development websites. Your choice though.

  • Must i have FMS to publish a stream from my camera ?

    hello
    i am building an live streaming website and i am use
    1- FMS
    2- Apache webserver
    i have made the subcriber and i works well .
    but i need to build the publisher to allow users to broadcast thier stream from thier cameras.
    i have tested a publisher which was build using actionscript and it didn't work untill i have installed the fms on my localhost , but i need a publisher which any user can use in his web browser .

    Are you asking whether each publisher needs to have FMS on its machine in order to publish stream - then answer is NO. There is absolutely no need for someone have FMS insalled on its machine to publish stream - what he needs is microphone and camera.
    Probably your publisher code was wrong and hence it did not work - may be you just need to put correct URI of your FMS machine in your connection URI instead of "localhost"

  • Liev streaming on ios using FMS

    Dear All,
    I have made an application using cs5.5 and java with struts2 for live streaming through FMS.
    Architecture is like:
    Flash player makes get stream from camera and then transfer stream over FMS. And this flash player component is embedded in html page.
    Flash player contains code for all work flow like making connectivity with FMS interacting user via javascript and capturing live stream from camera. This application works well on IE, mozilla.
    But when it comes to woking on ios it fails as ios, as IOS does not support flash player. I have gone through many solution provided on different forums, I get there to use Adobe air with making connection using http live streaming protocol and then pakaging the solution for ios. But as per my point of view this would work as an apps for ios rather than browser based application as in my previous case. can anyone suggest me alternate solution to launch live video streaming solution to work on ios on its browser. If I am wrong in perception of working phenomenon of FMS with ios via flash player or adobe air then also please suggest.
    Thanks
    Nitesh Kumar

    I realize that using JW player might not be the exact solution that you are looking for (sounds like you're trying to do something customized for a particular need), but using JW player can help you test your FMS set-up to make sure everything is working. We've used JW player to stream multi-bit rate live events to both Flash and iOS devices at the same time.
    > So how can we make connectionn with FMS and publish stream through jwplayer.
    Step 1: Set up Flash Live Media Encoder and create the live streaming manifest files for JW player. These instructions are taken from this page:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WSd391de4d9c7bd6 09-52e437a812a3725dfa0-8000.html
    FMS live Streaming instructions:
    Install Flash Media Encoder (FMLE) on the encoding computer (the computer what will be encoding the live stream): http://www.adobe.com/eeurope/products/flash-media-encoder.html
    Open the Flash Media Live Encoder rootinstall\conf\config.xml file in a text editor.
    Windows is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2
    Mac OS is Macintosh HD:Applications:Adobe:Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2.
    rootinstall\conf\config.xml i.     Set the tag //flashmedialiveencoder_config/mbrconfig/streamsynchronization/enable to true
    Save the file.
    Open FMLE: single bitrate stream.
    Format: Click on wrench and change to appropriate settings: Profile (main), Level 4.1 Keyframes 4 or a multiple of <FragmentDuration> in the applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent/Event.xml file. The default value of <FragmentDuration> is 4000 milliseconds.
    FMS URL: rtmp://localhost/livepkgr
    Stream: livestream?adbe-live-event=liveevent&adbe-record-mode=record
    i.     IMPORTANT: &adbe-record-mode=record query is needed to avoid the problems discussed in the threads below.
    ii.     See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/959974
    iii.     http://forums.adobe.com/message/4311876
    iv.     http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981286?tstart=0
    Click Start.
    Test streaming: http://www.osmf.org/configurator/fmp/:
    i.     http://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.f4m
    ii.     iPad: http://localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8
    Publish and play live multi-bitrate streams over HTTP
    Live multi-bitrate streams:
    Edit rootinstall\conf\config.xml file (step 2 above) on the FMLE computer.
    On the streaming server: go to FMS 4.5/applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent
    a. Remove the Manifest.xml file from the liveevent folder or rename it.
    b.     Browse to rootinstall/applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent and edit the Event.xml file to look like the following:
    <Event>
    <EventID>liveevent</EventID>
    <Recording>
    <FragmentDuration>4000</FragmentDuration> <SegmentDuration>16000</SegmentDuration>                  <DiskManagementDuration>3</DiskManagementDuration>
    </Recording>
    </Event>
    3. Create the f4m and m3u8 manifest files: NOTE: JW player needs a .smil file, not an f4m manifest.
    a. On the FMS 4.5 computer, open rootinstall/tools/f4mconfig/configurator/f4mconfig.html in a browser.
    b. F4M manifest file:
    Stream uri: livestream1.f4m 150kbps, livestream2.f4m 500kbps, livestream3.f4m 700kbps.
    Base uri: http://localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent (replace localhost with FMS internal/external IP address).
    save the file as liveevent.f4m to rootinstall/webroot or on the webserver.
    JW Player does not support f4m files. Must use a smil file for this.
    c. m3u8 manifest file: Open rootinstall/tools/f4mconfig/configurator/f4mconfig.html in a browser.
    http:///hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream1.m3u8 150kbps
    http:///hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream2.m3u8 500kbps
    http:///hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream3.m3u8 700kbps
    Save file as liveevent.m3u8:
    #EXTM3U #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=150000
    http:// localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream1.m3u8
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=500000
    http:// localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream2.m3u8
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=700000
    http://localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream3.m3u8
    4. Publish live streams to FMS:
    a. Start FMLE.
    b. Click the wrench next to Format, Open Advanced Encoder Settings, set Keyframe frequency to 4 seconds.This value matches the <FragmentDuration> value in the applications/livepkgr/events/_definst_/liveevent/Event.xml file. The <FragmentDuration> value is in milliseconds.
                   c. FMS URL field: rtmp://localhost/livepkgr
                 d. Stream field: livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent OR livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent&adbe-record-mode=record Change liveevent to whatever name you want (i.e. Test)
    Flash Media Live Encoder uses the variable %i to create multiple stream names: livestream1, livestream2, livestream3
    To use another encoder, provide your own unique stream names, for example, livestream1?adbe-live-event=liveevent, livestream2?adbe-live-event=liveevent.
    PUBLISH URL: rtmp://localhost/livepkgr/livestream%i?adbe-live-event=liveevent
    IMPORTANT: use the following query parameter: &adbe-record-mode=record
    5. Test live streams:
    a. Flash:
    Open rootinstall/samples/videoPlayer
    In Video Source, enter the following: http://localhost/liveevent.f4m
    b. iOS: Open Safari.
    Open http://localhost/liveevent.m3u8
    Once you create the live streams and the smil and .m3u8 manifest files following the steps described above, set up a test page using JW player (see their documentation and download the files referred to below from their page).
         This is the basic set-up that we use to stream live multibitrate live events (using a smil and m3u8 manifest file created above):
    1. Use JW with javascript file: put <script type='text/javascript' src='jwplayer/jwplayer.js'></script>in the <head> section of the page. I've renamed the javascript file jwplayer.js (look in the JW folder to find the appropriate js file).
    2. Embed the player into the page: put the following code in the <body> of the page:
    <div id="jwplayer"></div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    jwplayer('jwplayer').setup({
      'autostart': false,
      sources: [
        { 'file': "Manifests/liveevent.smil"},
        { 'file': "Manifests/liveevent.m3u8"}
      rtmp: {
        'bufferlength': 5
      'width': "640",
      'height': "480",
      'image': "Splash/live-poster.png",
      'primary': "flash",
      'stretching': 'exactfit'
    </script>
    Sample .m3u8 manifest file: (replace localhost with your ip, Test with whatever you named the stream in FMLE).
    #EXTM3U
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=200000
    http://localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/Test/livestream1.m3u8
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=400000
    http://localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/Test/livestream1.m3u8
    #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=800000
    http://localhost/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/Test/livestream1.m3u8
    Sample .smil file:
    <smil>
              <head>
                        <meta base="rtmp://localhost/hds-live/livepkgr/_definst_/Test/"/>
              </head>
              <body>
                        <switch>
                                  <video src="livestream1.f4m" system-bitrate="200000" />
                                  <video src="livestream2.f4m" system-bitrate="400000" />
                                  <video src="livestream3.f4m" system-bitrate="800000" />
                        </switch>
        </body>
    </smil>
    You have to follow Adobe's FMLE instructions (linked above) and the JW documentation to get this to work.
    http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forums/jw-player/setup-issues-and-embedding/22581/emb edding-jw-player-and-using-with-fms-45-livestreaming/
    Good luck.

  • Configure fms like p2p server ?

    Configure fms like p2p server ?

    Iccsi,
    Yes. Hostname under 'Testing Server' is the testing server's hostname - in your case, since you're using CF, it has to be the path at which CF runs at. It will be localhost:8888 or something similar - depending on what port you configured for the webroot while installing CF. You could check it in CF Dashboard. Or, you could start CF server, open your browser, enter localhost. If the default CF webpage loads, it is just localhost. If not, add the port number.
    The remote server is your actual webserver. It may be http://www.somesite.com or if you're running it in a separate folder within your main site, it will be http://www.somesite.com/test - depends on where you want to upload the working files remotely.
    The full directory under local configuration is the place where your files reside on your local system. Again, if you're using CF, you might as well use CF webroot to create/ store files - this way, you don't have to make duplicate copies of the files in 2 places since you're configuring the same folder as your Testing Server too.

  • NetConnection.Connect.Rejected in FMS 2

    I want to create Audio/video chat application.
    I have FMS 2.0.4 and XAMMP 1.6 installed on my computer
    locally.
    i use the following code to test a connection to the FMS:
    conn = new NetConnection();
    conn.connect("rtmp:/localhost/my_app");
    conn.onStatus = function(info) {
    trace ("Level: "+info.level+" Code: "+info.code);
    but it seems it cannot establish a connection to the FMS
    server and
    returned the following errors:
    Level: error Code: NetConnection.Connect.Rejected
    Level: status Code: NetConnection.Connect.Closed
    tried these other codes too on the connect function:
    conn.connect("rtmp://localhost/my_app");
    conn.connect("rtmp://127.0.0.1/my_app");
    conn.connect("rtmp:/127.0.0.1/my_app");
    conn.connect("rtmp:/my_app");
    but still no luck.
    What seems to be the problem in my configuration?
    By the way, I tried to disable the XAMMP but stll it cannot
    establish a connection?
    Tried to run it in macromedia flash 8 using alt+enter and
    through the
    webserver using the publish html and swf files but still the
    same.
    Ive been working on this for days.
    Im desperate,i need to start working on the application
    already.
    Somebody please help..
    tnx..

    also be sure to check your log files (or you can go in
    through the admin console and view the server log).
    with this particular error, i personally had:
    "Asynchronous I/O operation failed (Failed to attach to
    completion port: The parameter is incorrect."
    if you do a search on this error you will find not so much
    information. i was able to get my application working using the
    rtmpt protocol, but now, after coming back to work and booting my
    machine, it's not working again and i have the same error.
    things i've tried:
    1) i shut down all anti-virus and firewall applications and
    services
    2) run netstat -a to see what is running and what ports are
    being used
    3) try specifying a different port for FMS to run on (default
    = 1935). this can be changed via $InstallDirectory$\conf\fms.ini
    (in windows). Inside the file search for ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT and
    change the value to whatever port you want to try.
    4) try variations of the url e.g. rtmp:/ rtmpt:/
    rtmpt://localhost rtmpt://localhost:1935 etc.
    5) make sure you don't have programs like netlimiter
    installed as this is a known app that can cause problems w/ FMS by
    intercepting system calls on the machine.
    If you do find something that works, please contribute to
    this thread as it could become valuable for others having these
    issues.

  • FMS Server need to restart everytime

    Hi All, I am using FMS for video streaming and
    recording the video and audio in an flv on server side.
    but for replaying back to it i need to restart the
    server,without restarting
    it is not playing.
    Please help me in this regard...
    i am not getting any way out of this...

    we appear to be experiencing the same issue. When we add new policies to sam, we need to restart SAM so the policy is picked up. We see the No policies found code 7 in the policy agent log.
    Below is our setup:
    Apache Webserve 2
    Apache Policy Agent 2.2
    SAM 6.3 patch 7
    We do we need to restart SAM?

  • Stream mp3 without FMS?

    is it possible to stream mp3 without using FMS? how would I
    do it? All the examples I could find and the examples in the book I
    bought show streaming done via rtmp and a flash server. My website
    is located on a shared webserver, so I'm not sure I can install
    FMS.
    I'm trying to write an embedded mp3 player that can play a
    song. when a link is clicked the link should pass the song name so
    the player will play the correct song. for example: when
    http://mysite.com/player.php?value=songname.mp3
    is clicked, the player will play songname.mp3
    thanks.

    I'm surprised that no one has answered this. Is this question
    too simple or something?
    Anyway, I've been trying to load an mp3 at runtime but I'm
    getting some errors:

    how can i implement loading the sound file?
    here's what i've currently put together... I know there's a
