Fms user recorded audio fail in FP 10.1.82.76

hi all,
I have a small app that uses FMS to record the user voice and  then play it. It's not working *anymore* with the latest FP
In my tracking It  records the voice, it generates the file (if i download I was able to listen to it), but  if I try to play, it doesn´t play. If I use FP9 r124 it works, using FP10r53 or  the latest 10.1.82.76 it fails !!! all with the same SWF
has anyone experienced the same? I can not ask everyone to downgrade the flash player.
I tried to look in here http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html#main_version but couldn't find any details about this specific problem.
here is the  test, http://www.alumni.org.br/elearning/e.html
any sugesstion are appreciated.
thanks!
rodrigo

hi mamata, thanks for your intrest.
Do you publish the audio to FMS through a Flash IDE or through some other publisher? And which codec are you using?
from the Flash 8/CS3/CS5 IDE it works ok I can record and listen. Uploadong this same swf online the *the listening* doesn't work. I really don't know the coded.. How can I find this ?
here is what I got up to now:
a) I saw on a forum that the NetConnection should have the entire path to the "instance app"  and then new Stream should have *only* the filename (without extension) but it didn't work. I change it to do exactly this and it didn't work either. The
I reaaly would some light on this?
b) here: http://www.justskins.com/forums/netstream-publish-badname-109090.html I got this:
"The technical support guys (from the FMS Hosting) told me that this error is occurring because there is a saturation in the amount of streams that server is configured to handle. That's why once the limit is reached, no client can publish any more streams and they get the BadName error.
Now they've increased that limit and the app has been working fine."
is there a way to know the amount of steams that r setup in my server?
c) here is an example:
http://www.alumni.org.br/tmp/rodrigo/gravar/c.html
this one was published to FP10.
I use the firefox extension Flash Switcher to switch the FP,
loading the example using flash player 10.1 r53 I can record the audio, I can see the generaterd flv file in the FMS server but it doesn't play it
switching to FP 9.0 r124 it works ( you don't have to record again, just clicking play it will play the stream recorded with FP 10.1. r53) or you can record AND play....
*it's a huge problem and I'm desperate because I have hundreds of users that have this tool avaliable and I'm getting a LOT of complains.*

  • Recording audio from SoundMixer

    Hello,
i'd like to record live to a server the audio produced by some kind of drum machine made in flash, is it possible with FMS to record audio which is NOT from a Microphone object but from flash' SoundMixer?

I don't think so - as far as i know NetStream.attachAudio takes only Microphone.

  • Record Audio in mp3 file format using FMS

I am Recording Audio Using FMS which will record Audio file in FLV File Format default But I like to Record in MP3 File Format. Is it Possible.
And I also Record Video In MP4 File Format using h264 encode. Which Give me Video File in MP4 File Format but When i will try to play that MP4 File it Didn't play. So, I post-processed video with a tool called F4V Post Processor. Now That MP4 Video File Play But Didn't Give me Sound in that Video.
    My Code is:
            var h264Settings:H264VideoStreamSettings = new H264VideoStreamSettings();
            h264Settings.setProfileLevel(H264Profile.MAIN, H264Level.LEVEL_3);
            ns.videoStreamSettings = h264Settings;
            ns.publish("mp4:"+FILENAME+".mp4","record");
I search Lot but didn't get the solution. So, Please Give me Solution for Both thing.

The .flv format is a "container" format, not a video format.
So that means that inside the container, you can have a video file and/or an audio file or even just an audio file.. which most likely is already an mp3 file. Use something like "FLV Extract" to break open the container and see:
    http://moitah.net/
But really, for any Web delivery of audio, the .flv (audio only) method works just fine. Lots of media players available for the Flash .flv file.
    For example:
Sounds from my bunk on the Lady Washington
    http://exploreolympics.com/reports/?p=2857
Scroll down to third media player.
A little quiet to start with... but this is a .flv file with just an mp3 audio file inside.
    Best of luck!

  • Urgent: Flash Player 10, record audio - save locally on button click?

    Hi there,
I am wondering if Flash Player 10 will allow a Flex app or a Flash app the ability for the user, inside of a web-page, to record some audio with their microphone then click a button to activate the OS's Save File dialog? The user would then just save the audio on their local filesystem.
I was thinking this had to be done with a Java app, but I am seeing that v10 allows saving if the user initiates the action (button click)... i cannot a definitive answer or example that shows recording audio without it going to FMS or Red5.  The requirements of this app prohibit a media server so I am not sure if this can be done with Flash Player 10?
Is this possible?  If so are there any examples of this flow?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

    Hi, everyone,
If we can record audio from Flash Player 10 inside of a webpage and save audio files onto our local places by the use of mic applications, it will be very convenient. In fact, we can turn to use other available programs to record audio from flash and save locally by clicking buttons. It is possible to use recorders to record audio on flash or any other media players.
I don't know whether my guess is what you are thinking or not, perhaps you need to search for more information.
    Regards.

  • QuickTime player 10.2 does not record audio, mic works in other apps

    Hi,
    OS: Mountain lion
    QT player: 10.2
    Perian and Soundflower are installed.
QT is not recording audio from the computer mic or even a headphone mic, neither for audio or video recording.
QT starts always for recording with the volume down.
The mic works in other apps (skype or garaband).
I am not able to find either the plist files for QT.
I used QT in the past to record audio from the computer mic.
I recently updated the OS from lion to mountain lion.
Any ideas why is not working?

  • Recording Audio for Playback

    Hello,
I work with a university making language learning CDs in
Flash CS3 which are often used in locations where there is no
    internet access.
I have the impression from my readings that audio can only be
recorded for playback using the FMS and not locally. Is this
accurate? We would like to allow students with no internet access
to play back recordings they have just made of their attempts to
    say their new words.
    Any advice?
    Thanks for reading!
    David Martin

Yes, the audio is never stored even temporarily stored on the
users machine. It is streamed in real-time up to the server and
stored as .flv files which can later be played back from the
server. There is a company I know of which offers this server
recording as a service. It's called www.userplane.com The company I
work for has our own FMS servers and let users record to the server
but this is a lot more work then just using a company to provide
you with this service. So you can go either way. But there is audio
    stored on the users machine.

  • Can No Longer Record Audio With iMic

I've been using the Camera Connection Kit with the iMic to record audio from my studio via 'Line In' for months with no issue. A few weeks ago, my iPad stopped recording using iMic. It only records with the internal mic now, so the sound is garbage. The software company says it isn't their software that's the problem. Did Apple have an update (prior to latest release) that rendered iMic useless?
Without the ability to record audio in this fashion, the iPad is a useless paperweight for me.
    Any help is appreciated.

Users have reported that some accessories that worked with the CCK before the update to iOS 4.2.1 now no longer work. This article, updated after the iOS update give a clue that the update changed what worked.

  • IChat video/audio fails to work

iChat video/audio fails to work 90% of the time. The error message says the other party failed to respond, or some other, similar, bogus "communication error" message.
Invitation to video or audio chat fails 100% of the time with certain buddies of mine, and anywhere from 50% to 90% of the time with others, regardless of whether they invite me or I invite them. Changing ISPs, Macs, locations, or static/dynamic IP settings has made no difference.
This problem surfaced with Tiger in the summer of 2007, and progressively became worse, especially since Leopard, to the point where iChat video/audio fails 100% of the time, unless the other user happens to be in the same [home] network.
All of a sudden the problem went away since the upgrade to 10.5.6, and I was able to again use iChat video to communicate with friends I have not been able to "see" in a year and a half! However, the problem started again today, with the same bogus "communication error" message every time a video connection attempt is made.
Screen Sharing also fails to work, 100% of the time, regardless of how it is invoked, through iChat or not, unless, again, it is attempted between 2 macs in the same home network.
In the meantime, Skype video works fine all the time.

    Hi,
Thomson-Alcatel by default do what is called Binding of SIP to port 5060
This means ANY SIP data is forced to that port. iChat 4 no longer uses this port for SIP. It caused problems in iChat 2 and 3 which could be resolved when the firmware was Version 4 or earlier.
    How do I know ?
Personal Experience from a Speedtouch 510v4 (running version 4.2.5 firmware)
Hence the web page I linked you to.
Built up from comments on the iChat 3 forum and the iChat 2 forum since 2004
Search Results for iChat 3 (it will only go back to about Nov 14th 2005 when the software Apple Uses to run the forums changed - some active threads did cross over this date so occasional ones are older)
    Smaller results from iChat 2

Known issues for the BT HOME HUB in Britain as it is a Thomson-Alcatel inside.
Because the fix on Page 4a in the orignal link I gave, worked until Version 5 firmware came out.
As I clearly said the results can be intermittent.
With non Speedtouches it tends to be a 10:10:30 split out of 50 Buddies
10 you can get all the time.
10 now and then Buddies and
    30 Never successful.
The Original Version 4 Telnet command would make this 100% successful to non Speedtouch devices
In Version 5 it becomes about 15:10:25 which only marginally better.
Later versions of the firmware do not even seem to reach these figures.
Speedtouch to Speedtouch connections are better but still not 100%
I would guess you live some where where Speedtouch's are popular and have many Speedtouch to Speedtouch connections that fair slightly better than average.
Last time I had contact with iBoise on this the Firmware was at version 7 and he was in the process of evaluating it for any changes.
There has been no announcement. In this case I don't think No News is Good News.
    I hope this helps.

  • Record audio is not working

Does anyone know why when I open up the "Record Audio" button why it would not be recording?  The audio box appears but there is no sound.  It was working but now..... it has stopped and could use some advice.  Thanks.

The fact that it also fails in iMovie suggests that this is probably not a problem with FCP X.
That leaves either a hardware failure or a software conflict.
You can check whether the microphone itself is functional by testing in System Preferences->Sound directly.
Open the input panel and speak into the microphone. As you speak, you should get some visual feedback like in the picture below. Do you get some bars or does it stay the same all the time?

  • Recording audio from device on server

I have some really nice audio recording gear hooked up to my computer, and I got a neat idea. I want to turn my PC into a web server and serve a flash application from it that allows a user to record audio from MY hardware (basically record the output of a mic hooked up to the "server") and then download the resulting audio file to his or her computer. Is this possible to do using a single flash application? I'm sure I could send commands to a C application on the "server" that would do the recording, but I'm wondering if there is a more simple solution. Also, monitoring the audio while it is being recorded would be nice.
    Thanks

The issue I see with iTalk and similar iPod apps is that the iPod has no line-level input, so you'd have to use one of the earbud/microphone combinations or an external microphone like this one which will be limited as to quality. There are some other options here. But if you want pro quality, and particularly want to tap straight off of a mixing console, a device like the Alesis is going to be necessary, though there may be something less expensive that I can't find.
If a microphone works for you, then iTalk might be fine. There's a freeware version of iTalk, iTalk Lite, you can try, to see if it will do the job. It doesn't have the advanced playback controls and has a limit of 2MB per recording, but it should allow you to test it out. Voxie is another possibility.
    Regards.

  • Recording audio from a soundboard

Hello fellow iMac'ers, got a brand iMac with OSX Mavericks. I'm trying to set it up to record sound from a Peavey XR1212. I'm a PC guy, so I'm used to using Audacity to do the same procedure, so I downloaded it and tried to get it to work.  The soundboard has an "mp3 in" line as well as an RCA out jack.  The iMac does not have a mic in line, only a headphone port.  I called Apple Support and the representative informed me that the headphone port on the Mac is smart enough to determine whether I would be using it for headphones of a mic in line, so I should put the mic in line there.  So my set up was running an RCA jack (red and white connected to soundboard) with a headphone jack on the other end into the headphone port on the Mac.  When I began recording on the through Audacity, the program did not show me the soundboard or the RCA jack as one of the available options to choose to record sound from, it defaulted to the internal mic on the Mac as the only option.
I did not try going from the "mp3 in" line from the soundboard (which btw is a headphone port as well) to the headphone port on the back of the Mac.  I use an auxiliary cord to play music from the Mac through the soundboard with these headphone ports, but it just didn't seem obvious to me that this set up could be used for recording.
While I was downloading Audacity, the Mac was updating garageband, which I have little to no familiarity with.  I have done some research and found out that I could potentially use this to record from my soundboard as well.  So finally here is my questions:
    1) The back of the iMac has 4 USB ports, 1 FireWire port, 1 headphone port and 1 ethernet port.  Since there is no "mic-in" port, what port can I use to record audio from the soundboard in audacity or garageband?
    2) If I go from the soundboard with an RCA into the headphone port on the Mac, can I use garageband to record?

Thanks. Now, since Apple failed to provide an audio in jack for their new and improved iMacs (mine has one), all I can suggest is that you contact AppleCare, since you have 90-dqy free phone support. If need be, you might reconsider your purchase, but that's for you to decide.

  • Recording audio with the macbook

    HOWDY HO EVERBODY!!!
is there anybody out there who is using their macbook to record audio?i'd really like to know the results/problems.for those of you out there who do use computer based audio recording software, and r using pro tools in particular,pt version 7.1.1 was released yesterday!
(you can download it at the 'compatibility' section of the digidesign user conference/duc).this update is for the new intel core duo processers, making pro tools compatible with all iMacs, mac minis and macbook pros.it says in the digidesign website that macbooks are not yet qualified for the software update, but there r a few ppl on the duc that hav already tried the software on their macbooks.i just ordered my macbook last week (1.83)and i can't wait!!

I use garage band from iLife '05 side by side with ProTools mBox 6.4 on my eMac and stuck there because I have to pay extra for upgrade to 6.7. So I wait until I really need newer Protools for my Black Mac Book, and if I need it I might go with mBox 2.
I just got my Mac Book yesterday so I haven't play with garage band on that, but you cannot depend on built in mike to capture the audio for sure because of the unwanted environment ambience that also captured by that mike or captured mac book fan and noise. Invest a dedicated decent mike for that.

  • Recording Audio

I hope this is in the right section.
Whenever I try to record audio into my Mac Mini, whether it be through garageband, or audacity or the like program, my recording pics up this weird noise.
Not sure how to explain it.. it's almost like background noise. But since I dont' have anything else turned on when I record...
My condesnor mic is plugged into a mixer board, then into the Griffin iMic, which is set to record line in.
I have tried this on my other computer, whcih is a PC, and it doesn't have this noise.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Michael--
I'm guessing the Griffin iMic is the culprit. I had
one of those I was using with a G4 Power Mac and was
getting the same hissing or background noise in
recorded audio as you described. Just to rule out my
mixer and the G4 itself, I tried the iMic with an
iMac and a PowerBook, and had the same hissing sound
as with the G4 (but straight line-in recordings on
these Macs without the iMic yielded clean sound). I
did a little digging and discovered the iMic was a
problem for other users as well. So, what you may
have to do is try a higher-end FireWire or USB-audio
adaptor, maybe something from M-Audio, Edirol or
    MOTU.
(One more thing, if it's any reassurance. I have
decent-quality USB mic that I use with my own Mac
mini, and recorded sound using it is perfectly clean
and totally without extraneous noise. Your mini
should be capable of the same with the right
    equipment.)

    Hi,
Thanks for you reply, I think for the time being I'll stick with using the windows machine, at least til I can afford to get another Mac.
It's not the ideal solution, since it's noiser than the Mac Mini... but it's all i've got to work with at the moment.

  • Manually recorded audio is being truncated at beginning

I'm recording narration for a Captivate 3 movie of a software
demo. After I record the audio for a slide, I use the built-in
audio editor to replace the "ramp-up" (noise) at the very beginning
of the recording (usually about 0.7 seconds before the voice
speaks) with silence ("Insert Silence"). This technique has worked
quite well for several demos that I have created, and during
Preview my voice begins to speak about 0.7 seconds after the slide
appears. (This is what I want -- let the user first see the slide,
then hear the description. It "feels" quite natural.)
Today, however, although I have been doing the same thing in
the Audio Editor, I find that when I click OK and return to the
slide this silence at the beginning of the audio has been
discarded. In Preview, as soon as the slide displays the voice
immediately begins to speak; this "feels" too rushed. And, indeed,
if I edit the audio (Audio > Edit Timing > Slide) I find that
the silence that had been at the beginning no longer exists.
I can fix the audio timing, of course, by moving the audio
track to begin at 0.7 seconds rather than 0.0 seconds, but that's
one more manual operation to perform.
Any idea why this suddenly began happening? And how to
    prevent it from happening?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Thanks, Rick. I am recording audio individually for each
slide, and I find an annoying "click" at the very beginning of each
recording as the audio signal starts its ramp-up to the first word
that I speak. I like to eliminate this click, so I select the
waveform from 0.000 till just before the voice starts, and insert
silence. I haven't found any problems in my headphones from doing
    so.
In previous movies, Captivate retains this initial silence
(usually about 0.5 to 0.7 seconds) in the audio recording. In my
current movie, though, C3 is discarding the silence, and the audio
track starts immediately with my first word. Thus, I need to shift
the audio track to begin at 0.5 seconds into the slide...another
    manual step on each slide.

  • Pause button problem while recording audio

Someone talked about that problem on another post but I think
that problem deserve a post for it...
We have a probleme when using the pause button while
    recording audio on a slide.
If we hit the pause button, it completely deletes all
    previous recording in the slide.
If someone have a long text to read for a slide he cannot
take a break and think if everything is ok. Our clients are
    disappointed and calls this function.
Do you have an idea when that problem will be solved ?
    Thank

Hi Edji, I could not agree more. We reported this to Adobe
months ago and it has been acknowledged, but no information will be
made availlable about any fix release date. We have over 500 staff
users making recordings using Presenter and have trained the
majority on version 6. Imagine the number of supports calls we have
had to deal with when suddenly the pause button deletes all
previous slide recordings in version 7.
Depsite many attampts to get a resolution for this we have
had nothing aside from the suggestion above which certainly does
not fix the issue. It is a significant bug in the program that has
caused us endless hours of support work.
We are quite dissappointed at present with the lack of
reponse to the need for a fix and are currently evaluating a number
    of other products.
    Pityful but true.
