FMW version question (OIM/SOA/WLS specifically)

I think I'm just getting buried in documentation here and I thought that perhaps some of the experts here could answer what could be a relatively simple question...
I have the following FMW 11.1.1.3.x components deployed at the moment:
OIM 11.1.1.3.x
SOA 11.1.1.3.0
WLS 10.3.3
Does patching SOA require that OIM also be patched to the same patch level (11.1.1.4 or 11.1.1.5 for all components... no mixing and matching)? I know that SOA is only certified with an equal WLS patch set.
Is the general rule of thumb that all components of FMW should be at the same patch level (excluding bundle patches)?

Yes, ideally all the components which are interacting with each other in an environment should be upgraded to same patch level supported by Oracle. This is recommended step.
Thanks,

  • What is the highest Java version running with SOA Suite v10.1.3.3 ?

What is the highest Java version running with SOA Suite v10.1.3.3 ?
From my point of view at least v1.4.1
    Maybe v1.5
    but not v1.6
    Is this true?
    Peter

    I guess only 1.5.
1.6 is officially not supported and 1.4 does break stuff, I tried running it with it, and didn't even come up.

  • OIM-SOA CLUSTER add new node

    Hi All,
i need to add a new node to my cluster OIM/SOA.
    My env is:
    1) cluster 6 nodes whit SOA and OIM
    2) the first node have a console weblogic server admin
    3) More patchs are installed on
    Look at this picture: [https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9054488/OIM-SOA-CLUSTER.jpg]
I found the proc to doc.id [e10106 pag.523 - 8.9.3.20.1 Scaling Up Oracle Identity Manager] but I don't understand if it is applicable to systems already patched.
There is a procedure already proven and clearer?
    Thanks.

In order to add a new node, you must first install all the applications/modules in your middleware home. Install the same patches on top of those. Then using the packEnv scripts to pack up the domain, and then unpack it to your new host.
From the weblogic console, use the option to clone your app server and create a new machine for your new machine instance. Startup your node manager on your new machine, and start your app server.
You just need to make sure to do all the same modifications, if you have any, to your new server, like deploy jar files, make changes to UI interface, etc.

  • Looking to download earlier versions of OIM connectors- SJSDS in particular

    Hello,
I downloaded SJSDS_904120.zip from the following website.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/id-mgmt/downloads/connectors-101674.html
I am installing this connector on OIM 9.1.0.2 environment. I am running into some issues with this version of the connector and wanted to try a previous version.
Does anyone have a link to the previous versions of OIM connectors (SJSDS in particular).
    Regards,
    Sunny

I was able to get the connectors from metalink.

  • OIM/SOA/OAM Instance cloning

    Hi All,
Can anyone give me inputs on how to replicate an instance of OIM/SOA/OAM from one machine to another machine, with same configuration details.
Given that I have oracle home location and the password to use. How do I go ahead about cloning the instance on different machines?
    Regards,
    Shashi

Further to this discussion, I found these scripts what would copy environments and home instances and its components.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/core.1111/e10105/clone.htm
Can the same procedure be followed for environment cloning?
We are planning to try this approach, so, needs any of your reviews,
    1. Use backup & restore strategy to import the schema and data.
    2. Use the cloning procedure given at the above link to import the instance details.

  • Version error installing SOA on Oracle Linux

    Hi,
I'm trying to install Oracle SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.1.0, soa_linux_x86_101310_disk1.cpio) on Oracle Linux 5, but I'm getting the following error:

    Thanks,

You require a patch 6339508 which provides replacement pre-requisite tests. To use it you need to add two parameters to the runInstaller command as shown below.
    ./runInstaller PREREQ_CONFIG_LOCATION=<PATCH_LOC>/prereq –paramFile <PATCH_LOC>/oraparam.ini
PATCH_LOC is the location where you unzipped the 6339508 patch. With these new parameters the installer correctly recognizes Oracle Enterprise Linux as a supported platform. Note that OEL needs some specific patches when used with SOA Suite and these need to be installed prior to running the installer. Check the documentation for details.
    cheers

  • Version question.

    Dear All,
I have refered this link (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html#Application_Servers)
We have licence copy of wls server 10.3.2 and so can only use jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.x only for development right..? So new versions of jdeveloper is not compatible with the wls server we have.. So is there any upgrade patches available for standalone wls server ?? so we can do development in latest version of jdeveloper .. if yes then is it free or we have to pay for it ?
    Also one more question.
The ADF application developed in jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.x will be compatible with the future releases of jdev 11g (i.e example jdev 11.1.1.4.x) ?
    Regards,
    Santosh
    by the way happy easter..
Edited by: Santosh Vaza on Apr 23, 2011 11:35 AM

    Hi Santosh.
Regards upgrading WLS, yes, patches are available from Oracle Support for 10.3.2->10.3.3->10.3.4.
In terms of JDev versions vs WLS versions, it's a question of support and certification. At it's simplest ADF 11.1.1.2.0 works with WLS 10.3.2, 11.1.1.3.0 with 10.3.3, 11.1.1.4.0 with 10.3.4. You can learn more about the certification matrix here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html (see the application server section).
As for payment, this isn't my area of expertise, but I believe if you have a license for 10.3.2 and a support contract with Oracle you are entitled to a free upgrade.
Regarding your last question on future compatibility, you cannot guarantee this to it's ultimate extreme (say 11.1.1.2.0 to 15.4.3.2), but yes, there is a level of forward compatibility. We've currently three 11.1.1.2.0 applications that are in the process of being upgraded to 11.1.1.4.0 and as far as we know there's virtually no compatibility issues, just one know bug in the migration process of the jazn-data.xml file that affects us.
    Hope this helps.
Happy easter to you and your family too.
    Regards,
    CM.

  • OIM-SOA tasks error (Invalid Token Error in Verification Service)

    Hi Guys,
    I have the following environment:
wls 10.3.3, soa 11.1.13, OIM 11.1..3, OAM 11.1.1.3 with OID and OVD for LDAP store all configured to run in different Hosts according to Entreprise deployement minus the clusters using the latest jrockit.
However, as soon as everything is up and running in developmetn mode (? jrockit maybe jdk if dev mode?), logged on to the OIM admin page as xelsysadm, click on the Task tab, it fails saying that an error occured while trying to access soa. So i went and check soa under the wls concole deployments, it has a warning as its status but i understand that occurs after you have patched soa from 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.1.3. Then i looked into the soa managed server logs and i found the following stacktrace and wonder if you guys have a clue of whats really going on:

    Hi regoeng,
i too am facimg the same issue and using OID .
Can you please let me know the exact stpes followed to resoilve this issue.
Components used : UCM , SOA
    Flow :
1 . User places an file/record in the content server folder in the review state.
2 . An Workflow will be intiated.
3 . It will send an mail to the approvers.
4 . The Approver will click on the link which will be sent in the mail.
    5 . Provide there credentials.
    6 . Approves the file/record.
7 . The file/record will be released state.
Now we are facing an issue in step 4 , where a mail is sent to the approver and when approvers click on the link it will keep on trying to open the page and in the back end we are finding the ORABPEL-35012 error.

  • Multiple Software Versions Question

Rookie question here.  My organization recently purchased a new copy of InDesign CS6 for me and one other employee.  We did NOT purchase Creative Cloud subscriptions, but hard copy licenses.  The software is working great and we love your product.  The problem we are having is in regards to other people in our organization trying to open our newly created InDesign Documents (CS6) with their older version of the software (CS5).  We do NOT have the option to upgrade the CS5 software licenses, so what are our options for those employees with CS5 to be able to view and edit documents created in CS6?  I'm assuming there is a way to save the CS6 documents as older versions, correct?  We all operate Windows PC's.  I greatly appreciate your help.

@Todd – the only way saving back is exporting to IDML from CS6 and open the IDML in CS5.
If this is a reliable workflow is questionable. You have to proofread the opened IDML in CS5. I recommend to export to PDF from CS6 as well and compare the PDF with the opend IDML in CS5.

  • How to choose a specific version and detect the same specific version?

I've found the following link in other posts about choosing versions programmatically:
    http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/versions.html
Well, I'm not quite sure how to use that classid for "static versioning". I mean, if I need to use 1.3.1_08 but not others (not even 1.3.1_07 or 1.3.1_09, but only 1.3.1_08), what classid should I use?
That page doesn't teach us what syntax we're supposed to use!
On the other hand, my webapp needs to detect what JRE is installed and would suggest what to do in case the specific version can't be found in client computer. What should I do?
Thirdly, I've noticed that the order of installing versions is important. Let's say there're two versions in a computer, V1 and V2, while what I need is V1. Depending on V1 or V2 is the final installed one, my detection might or might not work. Someone knows what to do?
    TIA

    Thanks.
