Fn+F5 combo not working T430s

Hey everyone,
I've been having this weird problem where my Fn+F5 combination (which toggles wireless on and off) has stopped working. I recently uninstalled, and then reinstalled, the lenovo driver for power management in windows 8 64, because I was having the same problem with putting the computer into sleep mode via Fn+F4 (I think by reinstalling the driver, it fixed the sleep mode problem but screwed up my "toggle wireless" ability via keyboard). If the power management driver was potentially the culprit for these two problems, and I reinstall it once again, could it potentially mess something else up, or am I going too far out on a limb here?

I have a similar problem. I have T440s with WWAN module Sierra EM7345 and when I try to turn off WWAN module with button in F8 / FN+F5 utility the utility freezes and exits. I hava Windows 7 x64 Enterprise. I tried to reinstall the drivers for WWAN, the hotkey utility etc. and nothing helped. Does anyone know a solution for this problem. Tnx.

Ctrl-v key combo not working in keydown event in Adobe Air

I am needing to capture the ctrl-c/ctrl-x/ctrl-v keys in the keydown Javascript event from within Adobe Air.
I have managed to get the events to fire correctly.
When I press ctrl, c, x, v, ctrl-c and ctrl-x, I get the correct corresponding keycodes. However, when I press ctrl-v, no event gets triggered.
Is Air preventing the key presses from reaching this event in the case of ctrl-v?
Here is the code I am using:

I'm surprised you get ctrl-c and ctrl-x. Do they work when you have selected text? What is probably happening is the default handler for the paste event is "swallowing" the keystroke. You could try listening for the paste event and calling the event object's preventDefault() method. (I haven't tried it, though, so I'm not positive that would allow the keystroke to be passed along.) If you are trying to create your own copy/paste functions, you might be better off listening for the copy and paste events themselves, rather than the raw keystrokes.
Another alternative is to listen for the keystrokes on window.htmlLoader, which should get the keystrokes before they are passed to the HTML engine.

USB-Audio does not work correct on T430/T530

Hi all!
I'm owner of a T430 and a T530. Both are new PCs where I have installed Windows XP. The reason for XP is that I own older software and hardware, which is not supported on Windows 7. But it works fine and I have no reason to change hard- and software as long it fulfills my requirements! And Windows XP runs fine and fast on the T430 and T530.
Only problem is an EgoSys USB Audio interdace U2A. It is possible to install and run it, but there is a problem in the communication between operating panel and the hardware. When I move the slider for the level, the level jumps instead a smooth increase of the level, which means not alle values of the slider are transferred to the hardware. There is a similar behaviour with checkboxes: there are states of the U2A which are indicaed with LEDs. When I change the checkbox, sometimes the LED changes, sometimes not. This errors happen very frequently but not reproducable.
I tried several settings in the BIOS, like disabling one CPU, hyperthreading, USB3 etc. I tried the U2a also on a fresh XP-intallation without other software, but all without success, the behaviour of the U2A is always the same!
I also tested with an ExpressCard with USB-port from LogiLink, but this card does not recognize the U2A at all.
Up to now I have used the U2A on many different PCs without problems. What might be the reason that it does not work on an ThinkPad? Up to now I was very satified with the U2A and I would not like to replace it!

Problem with combo in js IE - new Option(t,v) not working

hello! Did somene had experience some problems with
adding new options in select object (combo box) in javascript? I can change text or value property, delete option by setting it to null, but when I want to add new, there is a problem!?

you are right, it works in the 'mother' page, but if I want to add some options from popup window (window.open...), and when I accessing combo throught opener propery, than I have problem, because it is not working!?

I get alert with the number ofoptions in combo, so ref is OK. I can delete some of them, change, but not to add new! Then I get Error message.

T430s SDHC card reader not working

Hi, I recently bought a T430s and when I tried to insert a SD card it did not show up in my computer. I've tried 3 different SD cards the sizes are16 gb, 32 gb and 2 gb and neither of them shows up, to make sure the problem is not in the SD card I tried using the SD cards in 2 cameras and 2 other laptops. In all those devices the cards works.
I have tried installing these drivers from this thread https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/New-T430s-4-in-1-express-card-SD-reader-mi... but it did not work.
I also tried following the instructions in this thread http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T430s-card-reader-cannot-read-16-GB-SDHC-ca... but that did not help either.
According to the device manager the Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC Host Controller is working correctly. The Ricoh SD Disk Device is also working correctly.
Whenever I insert the SD card the Sound for a new device plays and when i remove the SD card the removal sound plays. How can I fix this? I'm going away for 7 weeks with my laptop so I need to fix it ASAP and I dont have time to send the laptop to Lenovo.
EDIT:
I uninstalled Ricoh Media driver and now 1 of the cards show up but Windows complains about that it needs to be formatted, but the size is 0 so that doesn't work either. Tried installing the driver again and now they show up in the device manager again and proudly says that they are working but the SD card still doesn't show up so I can read the files on it.
EDIT 2:
If I go into the device manager and forcibly update the the Ricoh SD Disk Device then it says:

Partitiontype: MBR (Master Boot Record)
Capacity: 15807 MB
Non-allocated space: 0 MB
Allocated space: 0 MB
For the 32 gb SD card everything is the same but instead it says "Capacity: 30828 MB".
EDIT 3:
When the SD card is inserted a storage device pops up in the device manager. The name of the device is just "Unknown device" and the status is that it can't find any installed drivers for the device.

I'm experiencing a similar situation with my 1-year old T430s. The built-in card reader was working fine until recently when it stopped working.
Now the built-in SD card reader doesn't recognize SD cards that are recognized in external USB adapters.
Device Manager shows Ricoh PCIe SDXC/MMC Controller when an SD card is inserted into the card reader but neither Windows Computer Management/Disk Management nor Windows Explorer show the drive. Device Manager indicates that the driver is up-to-date (v6.10.10.32 25May11.)
When I put the same SD cards into an external USB adapter they're recognized by Windows, assigned a drive letter and visible to Windows Explorer as well as other applications.
Do I have a defective card reader?

Combo box selected index is not working.

Hi guys, I have a problem with changing the combo box selected index.
I load a list of phone types(such as "Home","Office",...) using Remote Object and assign it as a data provider for a combo box.What I need is to select a specific index in the combo but combo.selectedIndex statement doesn't work for the first time, I mean the combo changes its index only if I load the view again.
I checked different examples, solutions but none of them worked for me!! Can anyone here help me to figure out the problem?

I think in getComboSelectedIndex() method index should initialized to zero. If that does not work use after assigning the data from result event.

I noticed the same problem started a few days ago on mac pro with logic fcp keyboard but caps lock also stopped working. I cleaned under and around the tab and caps lock keys thoroughly but no dice. If I change usb ports the keyboard is plugged into caps lock lights up briefly and if I tweak keyboard setting tabs to force it to re-recognise the keyboard the tab and caps lock functions work while I have the keyboard system panel open and attempting to "identify keyboard" but back to not functioning when I close it. There have been a few postings about this problem but haven't come across the solution yet. Any ideas...

T430S - Windows 8 touchpad features do not work

I have downloaded and installed the latest UltraNav driver for my T430S. However, the "Edge Swipe" feature within the UltraNav driver does not work. I also noticed on other forums/boards that the "Edge Swipe" feature does not work.
This is supposed to be one of the coolest features of Windows 8 using a touchpad. Has anyone with a T430S been able to get the "Edge Swipe" feature to work?

Audio combo jack Not Working

Hello all
I have purchased a Combo Jack Splitter which is like this one:

I have made sure it's a 4 segment type of combo jack. I have an external microhpone 3.5mm 3segment that clips onto the headphones which is also a 3.5mm 3 segment jack.
The combo jack works fine on other PC's, the Microphone works fine on other PC's. However on my lenovo edge E520, it simply says that the device is not plugged in (microphone) (the headphones work fine with the combo jack just not the microphone)
Any ideas of what to do? I have tried reinstalling drivers. Any adivce will be good.

I'd just like to make an update,
If you plug the combo jack ion 3/4 the way, it detects the microphone, but the headset and microphone are pretty crappy quality.
Any Ideas?

T430s camera not working

my T430s camera(Windows8) is not working now. The LED light is on when I start the camera, but no imamges show up. I checked the driver, and it's already the latest version. The camera was working at the begining when I got my laptop, but I don't know what happened to it.
Any ideas how to solve this problem?

I happened to sovle my problem accidentally ... using skype.
Open Skype->Tools->Options->Video setting ->Webcam settings , then *uncheck* privacy
that's it!

T430s - Disk-activity and wireless indicator lights not working

Just noticed that the indicator lights on the T430s are not working. There is a wireless and a disk activity light that are not lit up or blinks during activity. Located just left of the T430s sign on the lower half of the laptop cover.

T430s - Yellow USB 2.0 not working

Hello,
The yellow USB 2.0 port it not working on my T430s, devices not detected but charging devices is OK with this port.
Need to use others USB 3.0 ports with external HD or mouse.
Any idea how to solve this issue? I think it was OK the first time i started the computer (can't remember).

Interesting that you're having problems with USB 2 but not 3. I have the opposite situation on BIOS 1.11 and USB 3.0 driver for Windows version 1.0.4.225, i.e. some devices aren't recognized on USB 3 ports but they work fine in the USB 2 port. I'm about to leave on a lengthy trip so I don't want to mess with the BIOS until I get back. I've bookmarked the BIOS update you linked for when I get back. Thanks.
Incidentally, I started reading your blog. A quick comment to your "Disk management reports an 8 Gig hibernation partition, not visible from Windows Explorer. I’ll look into that whether it’s safe to reclaim that disk space too." hiberfil.sys is a Hidden, System file in the C:\ directory. You can see it by checking the appropriate setting in Windows Explorer, Folder Options. The file is used to save your RAM image when you put the system into hibernation. If you don't use hiberbation, disable that option in Shutdown settings and then you can delete the file.

WI-FI not working in T430

The yellow mark which you have mentioned it is USB adapter and With Wireless WAN, and you can download and install Lenovo power manger application from the below link. Download both application and install it.

Control-Delete key combo does not work

I have a two-week old iMac. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse.
I am still learning all the ins and outs.
Everything I read seems to say that using the Apple key + delete will move a selected file to the trash.
It does not! I am a former PC'er and hate having to drag stuff to the trash.
I've tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions?

I just tried this on my Mac ( not a big fan of keyboard shortcuts here ! ) at first it did not work for me. Then I tried different speeds of the keystrokes - It works now, for me, if I perform the keystrokes very quickly! Odd? - I don't know.
Is there any way you can try the keystrokes on a different keyboard?
