'fn' key shows desktop (not in combination with f11). How to turn this off?
iMac 21.5-inch, Late 2012
OS X Yosemite 10.10.2
Whenever I press the 'fn' key (standalone) key it shows my desktop, which it makes it difficult for me to use this key in combination with the f1-f12 keys. I had a similar issue on my Macbook Air, which was resolved by changing my keyboard to the correct input source and double checking that no shortcuts had been installed for the keyboard. When I realised that my iMac had the same problem I went through the same steps but nothing changed this time.
I've restored all shortcuts to default and made sure that my keyboard input source is one that matches my wireless keyboard.
Any ideas on how to stop the 'fn' standalone key from showing my desktop?

In Piano Roll, double click on note opens List editor. CAN I TURN THIS OFF?
While editing in the Piano Roll Editor, double clicking on a note opens up the List Editor.
CAN I TURN THIS OFF?I realize that it is my way of working that causes the editor to open up. When I work fast and with the zoom out a little to far, some times when trying to move a note it fails to move and when I try to move it again the List Editor opens up. I am very set in my ways after 20 years of non linear and 30 years of midi programming. I was just surprised that this is not a preference.
I really don't want to slow down my double click settings. I like them fast to avoid this very thing, false double clicking. Maybe I'll try making them faster.
Does anyone know where the support Feedback is located? I would love to request another pref be added.

I am sorry that this may be a stupid question. I am using 10.7, lion.
I do not want to type "£", i want to type "#". Shift+3 = "£" option+3 changes me to desktop 3 insead of typing a "#". When i show the keyboard viewer and hold option it shows that by typing 3 i will type a "#", but i do not, instead i am taken to desktop 3. Is there anyway i can prevent this and make sure i type a "#".

I receive Adobe POP UPs to subscribe to Adobe XI which I already have joined but this nuisance.
If Adobe has a bug than they should remove it.

I talked with one of their operator and I followed his instructions. According to him it was taken care of but apparently this morning the moment I opened the computer POP UP was the first thing that came up on the screen.
Need solution.If you're getting a message that you are running a TRIAL (or demo), you must solve this problem. The messages are not the problem, the problem is that it doesn't know you own the product. And when 30 days are up it will stop working.
So, don't ignore the pop-ups. Instead, license the software. With a subscription, you simply have to sign in so it knows who you are. -
I was on the website like five minutes with it working perfectly. My firefox install is new as of two days ago. It suddenly decided the website's certificate is not updated. It wasn't updated five minutes ago, but was working perfectly then. I do not give a ''durn'' what firefox thinks. I want to see this website. There is no ignore this BS and take me to my website button. I want to know how to turn this off permanently. I tried updating firefox and I still have the same issue. Make it stop. My firefox is updated as of five minutes ago to the very newest version. My windows version whatever is also automatically updated so that's not it. I do not use any local antivirus because I am behind a firewall. It can't be the firewall because other computers in my network not using firefox have no problem with the website. Also cannot be my windows because other computers which are just ghosted over copies of the same as this one one my network with same exact default settings also with no changes to them just like this one but using another web browser have no trouble at all with this website. Seriously, nothing is different on the other computers on the network except the use of firefox. They work fine for this website. Firefox brand new update even does not work. Tell me how to fix it. I tried to do the stuff listed in certain other posts here. Apparently this version of firefox is different from the versions talked about when I google because certain parts of the answer don't fit what I see when I try to follow them with this version.

Some keys don't work in combination with Shift
Okay so I have the Pavilion Sleekbook 15-b011nr

and today I noticed certain keys don't work in combination with the left Shift for example, Shift+S (both left and right), Shift+M, Shift+Z, Shift +X, Shift+C don't work, shift+F does work but gives me this FV. same with j it gives me JM instead. I installed an updated bios, ran a diagnostic test using F2 and under the compenant test for the keyboard it failed and gave me this

now while trying to type all this I found other letters now working as well as me not being able to input the semicolon with either shift key. frustrating since I got this laptop in June so it's still under warranty. Old ipod, can not get it to connect with itunes & i no longer have the computer it was once synced to. It will not allow me to do anything but turn it off & on.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

since i updated my Apple ID with correct email address I can now only send imessages to email addresses and not iphone numbers - any idea how to fix this problem ?
You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password. They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary. The call should be free.

I brought apple lightining cable from authorised shop , but my i phone is not getting charged with that how can i know its orginal or not there is no printing on that cable and the wire is little harder than which i was using before it came along with phone.., Please let me know is the cable is orginel or not ..
the phone says it is not charging even though it actually is. Check and see if that's the case. A very underhanded trick by Apple so they can charge 10 times what the cable is worth. They do not win admirers by that proprietary trickery.

Using Yosemite, I an't seem to work for more than a few minutes without being asked for my login password. Keychain wants it, Safari wants it, iCloud wants it..the list goes on. Then in 10 minutes or so, they all want it again. Passwords are being stored by Safari as usual, but new tabs or pages bring up the request. How can I turn this off and still have protection?
Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
3. Click the "First Aid" tab
4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
5. Close the Preferences window
6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
7. Enter your username and password
8. Click the "Repair" button
The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:
1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
"New Keychain"
7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
First, you want to enable the root user:
1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.
