  • HTML DB 10g installation problem on linux HTTP-503 ORA-604

I have a problem after the installation of HTML DB from the linux 10g R2 companion image.
I installed HTML DB and HTTP server in one go, on an new system that only has the default orcl database installed. I run Red Hat enterprise linux on a x86_64 system.
The HTML DB installation took a long time, but gave no errors.
When I access the http://hostname:7777/pls/htmldb url I get an “This server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.”-error.
But :7777 works fine and give me the http server default page.
In my Apache error log I see the following errors:
    [Thu Dec  8 13:28:42 2005] [error] [client 10.11.121.20] [ecid: 1134048522:10.14.66.23:28193:0:1,0] mod_plsql: /pls/htmldb/htmldb HTTP-503 ORA-604
I looked at several internet sources, played with my marvel.conf and my dads.conf but to no avail. My oracle home is different from my html db home. There is no ./network/admin/tnsnames.ora in my HTML_DB _HOME. Should there be? One solution in the faq even told me to copy the htmldb tnsnames.ora over my db tnsnames.ora, but the installation did not create one for me.
When should I use a dads.conf instead of marvel.conf? I don't understand the need for this second file. I tried to also use it, because some solutions and the post-installation instructions hinted on doing it. But then I get a different error in the logs about a double DAD.
When I login through sqlplus in the orcl database with the HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER and my password (that was created during the installation) it works, but I don't see any tables (yet?). So the account is not locked. But should I see some tables when I do “select table_name from user_tables; ?
I probably missing something obvious here, but I'm a bit of a oracle newby.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Erik

    Thanks Diemar,
    It worked.
I stopped all oracle process and services.
I then logged out and in again as oracle to see if the unset stuck.
I then started my listener, databases, isqlnet and em.
I then started the httpd with:
    ${HTMLDB_HOME}/opmn/bin/opmnctl start
    opmnctl: opmn started
    ${HTMLDB_HOME}/opmn/bin/opmnctl startproc
this still gave some errors and the httpd was not started:

I then added the PlsqlNLSLanguage line back into the marvel.conf
    which now looks:
    AddType text/xml xbl
    AddType text/x-component htc
    Alias /i/ /mdx/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/http/Apache/Apache/images/

    PlsqlDatabasePassword @BWIuxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxid4Y4t8b9g==
    Allow from all
    </Location>
and I started the http again, and it works fine.
Problem solved. I will try to fine tune it so I'll get the basic LANG setting back in linux but without the .UTF-8 postfix.
    thanks for your help,
    Erik

  • Error on /pls/apex/wwv_flow.show HTTP-404 ORA-06550: line 25, c

Following on from the previous problem I had with Error 33331, we moved the application to a new APEX installation. Everything was fine for 30 mintes until
we started getting this error :-
PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in call to 'SHOW'
I've put in tracing in the httpd.conf file at info level and switched on mod_plsql tracing. Everything went fine for another 40 minutes but we're now getting the same errors, the following is one of the mod_plsql trace files.
I have a hunch caching is at the root of the problem ?

I have done a cache refresh to resolve this error. But then my error is MAPPING PROGRAM NOT FOUND.When I retry I am getting the HTTP 503 error.
Please suggest any solution for the same .

    Hello all,
I randomly this Error: Page not found HTTP 404.

Once this Error occurs, occasionally export and reimport works, if not I have to go back to a running version.
Unfortunately, this happens not to page I made changes on, the error occures on a other Page containing an interactive report.
Does anybody else has this problem ? I searched the Forum, but the similiar Posts are with DB-Version 9.x.., I'm using 10.2.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Heinz

thanks, i checked bug#4015165. that looks like it is the reason for my problems. (as stated the problems started with the upgrade on 9.2.0.6)
unfortunally there is no patch for windows available until now.
how does flushing the shared_pool influences the described behaviour? (i cannot try this before next week ... holidays)
does anybody know if there are other workarounds?

  • Why does TCP tunneling remove http 503 response from async WS call?

    Hi all,
I am facing a bit of a weird problem.
I have developed and tested an asynchronous BPEL process which among other things invokes a 3rd party web service.
It works fine in development environment.
When I migrate to the customers test environment I get a http 503 error back to the BPEL process (only difference in the BPEL code is the endpoint to the WS).
Trying to figure out what went wrong I used a TCP monitor to tunnel through. This solved the problem!
So why does going through a TCP monitor running on the BPEL server help?
Continuing with the TCP monitor in production is obviously not an option, so not only do I need to figure out why using a TCP mon helps, but also figure out how to fix the underlying issue.
I should mention that I am using BPEL version 10.1.3.3, and that I have testet the connection between the BPEL server and the 3rd party web service and found no problem.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Aagaard
Edited by: Aagaard on Mar 23, 2009 9:48 AM
In Metalink in "TCP Tunneling the Oracle BPEL Process Manager" (document id 283484.1) it is suggested to change the "opt-soap-shortcut" property in the "Manage BPEL domian" from false to true if you want to use TCP tunneling.
I don't see this property in the BPEL console or in the domain.xml file found at $ORACLE_HOME/bpel/domains/<domain used>/config.
Could this be part of the problem?
The BPEL server in the customers test environment is a clone of the BPEL server in our development environment, so I don't see how this could be the problem.

    Hi,
Status update: Accessing the remote web service from the BPEL server works fine if not done through BPEL.
My current thinking is that the problem may be linked to port numbers and firewalls. Obviously, there is an opening in the firewall from my BPEL servers (installed on port 8888) and to the remote web service running on port 19313.
However, sniffing at the connection between BPEL and the TCPMon it can be seen that BPEL is trying to make a connection in a range of ports in the 1400s (so far I have seen between 1454 and 1481).
In the Oracle documentation at [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28940/portnums.htm] there is a list of default ports.
The 1400 range does not appear anywhere.
So my thinking is that maybe the TCPMon goes through a static port, which is opened in the firewall, and BPEL is trying to go through a dynamic range which can get to the TCPMon but not to the remote service.
Any comments, ideas or suggestions is most welcome.
    Regards,
    Aagaard
PS: James - Thank you for the assistance. As always it was very helpful.
Edited by: Aagaard on Mar 26, 2009 8:45 AM
The 1400 range may have to do with wireshark sniffer tool ...
    So that might explain it.

  • J2Se receiver File adapter-HTTP 503 no listener registered for service

    Hi,
We are using J2Se file adapter for one the interfaces and the logs of the J2se adapter engine has shown the following error-
Error: com.sap.aii.messaging.net.TransportException: HTTP 503 no listener registered for service /file/example_outbound
         at com.sap.aii.messaging.net.HTTPRequest.run(ServerHttpImpl.java:416)
I checked with the J2SE File/FTP receiver adapter configuration given at help.sap and found the following the following info related to the error-
Specifications for addressing by the Integration Engine
    ○       XI.httpPort=<port_no>
<port_no>specifies the HTTP server port that receives the messages from the Integration Engine.
    ○       XI.httpService=<service>
<service> describes the service part of the address where the Integration Engine must send its messages.
    These specifications are mandatory.
If, for example, you have specified XI.httpPort=1234 and XI.httpService=/file/Receiver, the end point address of the file/FTP adapter in the Integration Engine must be specified as follows:
    http://<fileadapterhost>:1234/file/Receiver
The end point address must be extended as follows for the Integration Engine in Release 1.0:
    http://<fileadapterhost>:1234/file/Receiver?action=execute&pipelineid=Receiver
If the Integration Engine message is sent to a non-specified adapter service, the system displays the following error message:
*No registered listener for <Service> found*
The system displays the same message if the adapter is initialized, but has not been started (status STOPPED or INITIALIZED).
Where I need to check this Integration engine address specifications. I have't found any of the above code in the adapter configuration which we are using presently. The interface is running successfully before but thrown this error now.
Please reply me if some one has faced similar issue and get it resolved.

    Hi
How was this issue resolved? I have the same problem.
I only have two receivers - the deafult j2se file receiver and my newly created one which used the default as a template. The ports and service's are different.
I've even tried deleting my custom receive adapter and using only the default one but i still get that error.

'Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/PLAIN; HTTP 503 Not Ready: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/PLAIN; HTTP 503 Not Ready
SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/PLAIN; HTTP 503 Not Ready

    Hello,
Have you checked if you are passing the correct content type by validating the generated SOAP request against the format the receiver is expecting? You can try using an HTTP diagnostic tool to analyze the HTTP header e.g fiddler.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-01031

Hi ... I am running APEX 3.0 ...I was having trouble uploading images in my applications and to test whether it was my apps or not, I created a new workspace with the standard sample application - which gives the same error as in my apps.
The error appears when I attempt to upload an image. The apache error log entries for this error are the following:
    [Sat May 19 12:28:07 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] [ecid: 1179595687:***.168.2.127:4272:4248:1,0] mod_plsql: /stage/wwv_flow.accept HTTP-404 ORA-01031: insufficient privileges\n
    [Sat May 19 12:29:52 2007] [error] [client 192.168.2.103] [ecid: 1179595792:***.168.2:4272:3064:13,0] mod_plsql: /stage/p HTTP-404 ORA-01403: no data found\nORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOW_FILE_MGR", line 96\nORA-06512: at "FLOWS_030000.P", line 26\nORA-06512: at line 22\n
The forums expert assistance will be highly appreciated ...
    Thanks
    Pter

    Pierre,
Can you show us the block of code that is failing? The error message says it's getting a 1403 in the "p" procedure. That procedure is used for downloading, not uploading.

  • Custom HTTP 503 Error

Does anybody know how to customize the HTTP 503 error message output when the database is down?
    Thanks.

    Hi Joe,
Take a look at the ErrorDocument directive in Apache, for example -
    # Customizable error responses come in three flavors:
    # 1) plain text 2) local redirects 3) external redirects
    # Some examples:
#ErrorDocument 500 "The server made a boo boo."
    #ErrorDocument 404 /missing.html
    #ErrorDocument 404 "/cgi-bin/missing_handler.pl"
    #ErrorDocument 402 http://www.example.com/subscription_info.htmlHope this helps,
    John.

  • Content Server errors report HTTP 503

    Hello,
I've noticed that upon any Content Server error (missing content, IdocScript error, etc), apache will report an HTTP 503 error, but still serve the page. Has anyone else seen this behavior, or know if it is configurable?
This behavior creates a problem because we publish our Site Studio websites with SSPU and it fails deployments on 503 errors.
    Thanks for any advice,
    -Jason

This is probably an error in the configuration of your content repository.
Check the setting for your Content Server at OAC0 again.
    regards
    Juan

  • ACE Module - HTTP 503 Response

    Hello,
Is it possible for Cisco ACE Module to return HTTP 503 to the user making a web (HTTP) request.
Does ACE have any built-in HTTP error response feature.
    Thanks.

The ACE module can't generate web page.
You should have a server ready to send this page and you can configure ACE to redirect users to that server when required.

    Hi,
You can check to see if HTTPS is configured check the instance profile parameters:
    icm/plugin_<n>         PROT=HTTPS,.....

  • Bpel variables return Http 503 (problem building schema) error

First of all if I have posted this in the wrong forum, I apologise in advance.
I have recently installed the Oracle SOA suite and I have downloaded JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, I am running the (http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/products/bpel/orderbooking.pdf) Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Tutorial and when attempting to create a copy rule I have noticed that some of my variables return the following error:
    Exception - Problem building schema
    expanded error:
Exception: Server returned HTTP response code: 503 for URL: http://MYID.MYDOMAIN.com:80/orabpel/default/CreditRatingService/CreditRatingService?wsdl
I can access the WSDL directly and it is visible in my Bpel console window too, yet JDeveloper seems to be having trouble with it. I have setup an integration server connection to the BPEL server and from there, when I attempt to validate WSDL I don't get any problems.
I was wondering if anyone could help as this has got me stuck and I can't continue any further.

Disable the proxy settings in JDeveloper.
