  • Junk characters in ldt file

    Hi Experts,
    Am a newbie to oracle apps.
    Iam using 'messages' to store and display arabic characters in xml report and it is working fine . While migrating the report form one instance to another instance by downloading ldt file, the arabic characters are displaying as junk characters in the ldt file.
    Any pointers to resolve this issue will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Santhosh

    I am using Windows 7 and used notepad to view the ldt file.
    The arabic characters are converted to some other format like junk.
    I tried uploading the ldt file in the same instance.
    After uploading the ldt file in the same instance,the the arabic characters are displaying as junk characters in front end while checking.
    Are the arab characters are converted to some other format in ldt file?
    i didnt tried uploading the ldt file in someother different instance to check for the correctness of arab characters in front end.Set NLS_LANG as suggested in my previous reply before you download the data and it should be in Arabic (assuming your database/application characterset support Arabic language and your client can read Arabic characters) -- FNDLOAD problem with Arabic font

  • Problem with FNDLOAD upload command for Concurrent Program

    Hi Apps Gurus,
    I am facing a peculiar problem with the FNDLOAD command.
    My customer has a concurrent program which is running fine in Prod, and now they have requeseted for a change in the program, the change requested was to modify the parameters and the name of the program. I have done the changes and when I try migrating this change from DEV instance to IAT using FNDLOAD commands it is not getting migrated. There does not seem to be any problem with the LDT file, There is no error message in the log as well.
    However I have noticed something very peculiar.* In the target instance (IAT) , when i run the FNDLOAD command directly the migration is unsuccessful but when i delete the existing parameters of the prog and rename the concurrent program and then run the FNDLOAD command the migration is sucessful and the changes are getting reflected!!. I dont understand why this is happening. This is happening in preprod as well , the migration is unsucessfull initially when i directly run the command, when i modify the name and parameters of the prog and then run the command the migration is sucessful. Now i do not have access to prod and this trick of changing prog name and parameters cannot be done in prod , so I need a proper solution for the migration.
    Any pointers to resolve this issue will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

  • Fndload error while downloading a profile

    Hi,
    Can any one help out with downloading a profile using fndload. I am following the exact syntax but the afscprof.lct fails with the following error.
    Column 2 in the select list is too large for LEVEL_VALUE in entity FND_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES
    The exact fail is at this part of the sql statement
    select TO_CHAR(ov.LEVEL_ID),
    decode(ov.LEVEL_ID,
    10001, '** Site **',
    10002, pla.application_short_name,

    10005, pln.node_name,
    10006, plo.name,
    'Unsupported level - '||ov.LEVEL_ID),
    I understood the issue, the level_value in the lct file is defined only as varchar of 100 where as this particular decode statement makes the level_value 240 which is causing this error.
    Is this version problem?
    Please help me out.
    Thanks all in advance.

    I checked the profile_option_value field and it is of 240 width. But I think the problem is with level_value in the select statement. I am pasting the log file below. This should give you more idea.

  • FNDLOAD error while uploading responsibilites

    Hi All,
    I have created a few custom responsibilities in an EBS 12.1.1 instance (windows) and used FNDLOAD to download them. After that, I uploaded them into an EBS 11.5.10 instance. Everything worked fine. Now we tried to upload them into another 11i installation and it crashed with the following error:
    Error Message :
    Dump LDT file tesis_inv_usr_resp.ldt into FND_SEED_STAGE_ENTITY
    An error occurred at line 52 in file tesis_inv_usr_resp.ldt
    An entity definition is required to define values of type FND_APPLICATION
    Here is the code at line 52:

    LAST_UPDATE_DATE = "2005/08/29"
    BASEPATH = "INV_TOP"
    APPLICATION_NAME = "Inventory"
    END FND_APPLICATION
    Any ideas, what the problem could be? Is it the line with "OWNER = "ORACLE12.1.1" because the version string does not match or is it a problem with the INV application? Could it be possible that this 11i instance does not have an INV application (it is an instance at a customers site so I do not have access)?
    Thanks,
    Konrad

    Konrad,
    I have created a few custom responsibilities in an EBS 12.1.1 instance (windows) and used FNDLOAD to download them. After that, I uploaded them into an EBS 11.5.10 instance. Everything worked fine. Now we tried to upload them into another 11i installation and it crashed with the following error:You are not supposed to use FNDLOAD to download/upload entities between different application release.
    BEGIN FND_APPLICATION "INV" <---- this is line 52
    OWNER = "ORACLE12.1.1"
    LAST_UPDATE_DATE = "2005/08/29"
    BASEPATH = "INV_TOP"
    APPLICATION_NAME = "Inventory"
    END FND_APPLICATION
    Any ideas, what the problem could be? Is it the line with "OWNER = "ORACLE12.1.1" because the version string does not match or is it a problem with the INV application? Could it be possible that this 11i instance does not have an INV application (it is an instance at a customers site so I do not have access)?It could be because of any of the above but most probably it is about the module (whether it exists or not). Without having access to that instance it is not easy to troubleshoot.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Cannot redirect output of FNDLOAD

    Hi All,
    We are using AIX 6.1 ML7 to host Oracle Apps. We are using FNDLOAD to migrate setups.
    We have big script running a number of FNDLOAD commands to load setups in a target instance. Problem is, we are not able to capture the output of these commands in a file. The echo commands in the script can be redirected using >>. but the log file names and errors printed by FNDLOAD are not getting redirected.
    What could be the issue?

  • FndLoad updates wrong value set values

    Hello.
    When uploading value set values, fndload updates both US and N language value descriptions. Supposed is to update only N language values.
    Step by step what I have done.
    *1. Set NLS_LANG environment variable*
    export NLS_LANG=NORWEGIAN_NORWAY.WE8MSWIN1252
    *2. Downloaded value set*
    $ FNDLOAD apps/apps O Y DOWNLOAD $FND_TOP/patch/115/import/afffload.lct KONTO.ldt VALUE_SET FLEX_VALUE_SET_NAME="KONTO"
    *3. Change environment*
    *4. Set NLS_LANG environment variable*
    export NLS_LANG=NORWEGIAN_NORWAY.WE8MSWIN1252
    *5. Uploaded value set*
    $ FNDLOAD apps/apps O Y UPLOAD $FND_TOP/patch/115/import/afffload.lct KONTO.ldt
    I have investigated that its happening because of the update statement which is called by the fndload control file. Procedure fnd_flex_values_pkg.load_row line 708:
    update FND_FLEX_VALUES_TL set
    FLEX_VALUE_MEANING = X_FLEX_VALUE_MEANING,
    DESCRIPTION = X_DESCRIPTION,
    LAST_UPDATE_DATE = X_LAST_UPDATE_DATE,
    LAST_UPDATED_BY = X_LAST_UPDATED_BY,
    LAST_UPDATE_LOGIN = X_LAST_UPDATE_LOGIN,
    SOURCE_LANG = userenv('LANG')
    where FLEX_VALUE_ID = X_FLEX_VALUE_ID
    and userenv('LANG') in (LANGUAGE, SOURCE_LANG);
    Problem is with this statement and userenv('LANG') in (LANGUAGE, SOURCE_LANG);, because there is included SOURCE_LANG which not always is the same as LANGUAGE. Therefore the update statement updates also US language values which source language is N
    Any suggestions how to override this problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    Aldis

    Hi Hussein,
    Thanks for the tip, but it is the same if I set the NLS_LANG environment variable *"export NLS_LANG=NORWEGIAN_NORWAY.WE8MSWIN1252"* before upload.
    I will try a workaround. Update the source_lang so it is the same as language and then upload with fndload.
