Focus level of BPX
Hello all,
I'm new to the community and my experiences with BPM are -for now- on a theoretical level.
I do sense an area of tension of which I would like to hear the opinions of more experienced people.
What I've learned so far is that a BPX should try to create an image of how processes run in the company; top-down. Start with the vision and mission statment, strategy and identiy the end-to-end processes that directly contribute to the goals of the company. These processes should be the starting point of identifying all processes on a lower level.
So far my experience is that people are mainly interested in processes on a lower level. Sometimes people are only interested in the processes they are working in or process descriptions that lay very close to functional diagrams.
My understanding so far is that it's very important to get the whole picture. I'm curious about your opinions and experiences on this one.
The situation as you describe it indeed the ideal situation which we strive for. In daily practive however, customers / organisations are very much inclined to limit the focus on an existing issue or a limited (non end-to-end) proces. As a result (as we have seen so many times in the past during implementation, upgrade and enhancement projects) the solutions found are sub-optimal solutions limited to a restricted set of users and/or processteps.
Furthermore, as R.S. Krishnan describes in the post Who hires BPX?, the focus of IT departments is mainly Technology focussed, whereas the business is usually process or output focussed. In comes the BPX bridging the gap between these 2.
This does require a new approach in defining the project at the customer site, since the project can no longer be driven by IT (technology) which is usually the case. Basically things that we already knew are coming to the foreground. Innovation must be
- driven by technology,
- required and accepted by Business Processes and
- sponsored by Executive level.
Is this a tough job? Yes it is, but if we, the BPX's, can succeed in bridging the gap between techological opportunities, future scenario's and improving business processes by crossing those invisible boundaries of systems and departments the value will become evident and the profession will become clear.

Hi,
When using the Close-Up Scene mode focusing of something, found that the Auto Focus feature can't find out the best focus level, the level is obviously down.
If the total level is 10 , then the actual level is: Actual Level = Best Level - 3
is there a way to let us set the focus level manually ?
Thanks.nobody from nokia will respond on here this is a user forum. Also your question was a little difficult to understand. I have the n96 and my auto focus works fine. Is it possible it could be your FW what version are you running?
I dont pretend to know everything like some people on these boards i am just trying to help. Its not all about the kudos. -
Qosmio G10 - Sound speaker quality
Hi Guys, have any of you qosmio g10 owners experience pretty ordinary sound from your speakers (harman/kardon), specially when you turn up the volume? music cds,mp3s,even movies,, the speakers dont seem to handle bass well at all? i did call toshiba and they will take a look at my machine..i would just like to know if its just me or have all you guys experience the same problem..to my understanding the sound quality of this machine should be excellent crisp and very clear..any input would be much appreciated cheers..
Hi
I am also owner of Qosmio G10. I must tell you that I am very satisfied with sound and very powerful harman/kardon speakers. The only thing that I can advice to you is to check all sound settings. Please check all settings in Toshiba virtual sound tool especially Restore default settings if the basic Settings is switched to ON.
I have noticed that all options there have a strong influence on sound quality and there is possible to set the optimal sound quality for every sort of music.
My configuration is:
Speaker Size 200Hz
TruBass Level 75%
FOCUS Level 76%
Don`t forget that every player has an own equalizer and there you can also try to find out which setting is the best one for your requirements.

I like the special effect at 0:09/0:10 in this fashion video:

How do you do it in iMovie? I have version 10.0.2bubblyxlove wrote:

this 'effect' is basically two... :
• 'micro-edits' - 1 frame from clip#1, 1 frame from clip#2, repeat a few times.. done. A bit 'fiddly' in iMovie, but possible.
• 'artificial depth of field' - have a look:
first the cam is focussed on the girl with the long hair in the background; then, while recording, focus shifts to girl in foreground; then, in the micro-edits, they jump btw., the two focus-levels (plus shift the framing, but that is another story…)
to accomplish that in the same shot (which it is obviously in your demo), you'd need a tilt-shift-effect, or a software which allows to apply 'masks' to moving images to apply blurr to each layer.
=> no way to accomplish that in iMovie.
as Jim already stated: Motion5, or FCPX. And this is no 'push button/done' effect, needs lots of manual adjustments. -
Cetacea Sound - Speaker quality
Hello Spiceworks Community!
I am doing some research to upgrade our classroom technologies. I came across Cetacea Sound's Astronaut CL and XL. After doing some researching I am unable to find any testimonies on the quality and setup.
I am curious to know the sound quality in a room that is roughly 30' x 30', quality of life for the device itself, any pros and cons, and ease of setup.
Check out the link below, and any information would be helpful.
http://www.cetaceasound.com/index.php
Thanks!

Hello, the 'Save As' dialog box used to allow the backspace button to go up one level in the directory when the focus is in the folder contents box but it does not work any more, please help. BTW the same 'Save As' dialog in other applications still allow the backspace button to go up one level in the directory.
cor-el,
I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns. -
CC2014 generates horizontal colors strips in levels also select focus area focus.
Just updated to CC2014 and when I adjust levels it generates horizontal colors strips also the select focus area focus shows a series of horizontal bands.
I have the same problem on my iMac late 2013 (with Geforce 780M).
I have restorre the preference settings, use and don't use graphic processor, ...
No solution ! -
[ADF] Focus not getting set on second level dialog/popup
Hi,
While working on a related bug, I've discovered that for every second level dialog/popup(a popup that is invoked from another popup), the focus does not get set to the second level dialog if the first component in that popup is an inputText, unless a user explicitly clicks on it. By focus I mean that on pressing tab, the fields on the previous popup still get selected/highlighted.
This does not happen if the first UI Component is any other; everything else kept the same. I suspect this is an ADF bug; does anyone know of a workaround?
Thanks,
Ravikiran Sastry
Edited by: 911228 on Jan 30, 2012 11:59 PMHello,
we are having the same issue using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and Internet Explorer 8.
The code is really simple: just a regular popup with an inputListOfValues component inside. Open the popup, open the inputListOfValue's "Search and Select" popup and if you press the Esc key, the first one will be closed, while the "Search and select" popup will remain there.

Spry menu bar woes (add submenu levels and edit width)
So i need some spry menu bar help. Apparently as a graphic designer i'm also expected to webdesign, and while i can solve most problems with a good googling, i seem to be at my wit's end fo this one. So the site i'm doing has a header ith a horizontal spry pop-up menubar (in Dreamweaver CS4). But some problems arise: when i manually add another submenu level, they don't show up in chrome or FF, they do werk perfectly in IE6. I just add the following code to the codepage:
<li><a href="#" class="MenuBarItemSubmenu">audio equipment</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Digital Matrix Systems</a></li> <ul> <li><a href="#">R2 Digital Audio Matrix</a></li> </ul> <li><a href="#">pre-amplifiers & mixers</a></li> <ul> <li><a href="#">PMX124</a></li> </ul>
the PMX never pops open in FF an chrome.. Should i be adding anything else to another part of the code? i'd like my submenu text to have a slight indent? How ever, when i add the indent to ul.menubarhorizontal ul , it elongates the submeny boxes in IE6, while looking normal (width) in chrome and FF. WHat part of the CSS style should i change to just have the text scoot over a bit without it really affecting the box layout? ALso, if anyone could tell me how to add a wee bit of spacing above the text (and beneath), i'd be eternally gratefull. Also, how do i change the with of the submenus? seing as my main buttons are images, but the names i ned to put in my submenus are turning out to be pretty long...
HTML code for the menu:

Where to find entry level sap jobs with a Terp10 Certification
Hello I am a soon to be college graduate graduating this December.
My question is with a Terp10 certification and no work experience what can I expect from the job market. Are there companies that hire college graduates with no SAP work experience? Are there any resources that help graduates find entry level SAP jobs.Hi ,
Welcome to the World of SAP !
As a fresher there are lot of options to start the career in SAP domain . As a fresher doing a certification *** training with out any prior experience , the opportunities for getting a job will be very less. SAP is a Enterprise business software which has the Technical ( ABAP,BASIS .......) Functional (SD,PP,MM,FI,...) Techno Functional modules . Choose a very option to get started . Getting a right career is not a tough job for you , search in web , read about sap , lot of online information ,forums available . choosing a career is a brainstorming work , my suggestion drop the idea of doing certification , as you are a fresher and very difficult to get a job without any experience . Please check the links to get start . good luck

How do I select the entire text when the focus is moved to one TextBox?
How do I select the entire text when the focus is moved to one TextBox?
There are three TextBoxes. I use <TextBox TabIndex="1"/> to set the order they are selected. When I enter one specific TextBox, I would like to have the entire text selected ... one key stroke removes all of the text in that TextBox.
bhs67I do it the following way:
1. Override the OnStartup for the application. Use the following code: (VB.NET)
EventManager.RegisterClassHandler(GetType(TextBox), TextBox.GotFocusEvent, New RoutedEventHandler(AddressOf TextBox_GotFocus))
2. In the event handler use this code (again VB.NET)
Private Sub TextBox_GotFocus(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As RoutedEventArgs)
_theTextBox = CType(sender, TextBox)
If setFocusTimer IsNot Nothing Then
RemoveHandler setFocusTimer.Tick, AddressOf setFocusTimer_Tick
End If
setFocusTimer = New DispatcherTimer
setFocusTimer.Interval = TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(10)
AddHandler setFocusTimer.Tick, AddressOf setFocusTimer_Tick
setFocusTimer.Start()
End Sub
Private Sub setFocusTimer_Tick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
setFocusTimer.Stop()
_theTextBox.SelectAll()
End Sub
What this does is register a handler for every textbox in your application. This will execute when the GotFocus event is raised and will allow you to do whatever (in this case select all) you want. A great way of handling things at the application
level.

How to get the focus of particular UI Element
Hi All,
How to get the focus of particular UI Element in webdynpro Page,
I have a page where i am creating a ALV, I want to get that keyboard focus is on that element is there or not?
Can anyone please give some update?
Best regards,
RohitI would suggest try invoking REFRESH of ALV on the ON_CELL_ACTION event.
Below excerpt is from Thomas
The Events of inner UI elements are not exposed directly as they normally would be if they were standalone. Generally you can capture them using either the
ON_DATA_CHECK:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/c8/6c80dbedfe42d1a93f8e6df1d7244a/frameset.htm
This gets trigger for any press of ENTER, so it generally works like the Input Field onEnter.
You could also consider ON_CELL_ACTION:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/45/12093591152464e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
It is a higher level Event that encompasses both ON_DATA_CHECK and ON_CLICK.
if you want to capture & refresh on some hot key combination then refer to this thread

What am I doing wrong?"pqer" <[email protected]> wrote in message

1. You're allowing unfiltered user input into your SQL query.
I could do
some horrible damage to your system.
2. You have SELECT * in your query.
3. You're doing something that doesn't make any sense. Why
add a constant
to the security level just to subtract it again when you
actually want to
use it? You're just making more work for yourself. There is
no benefit
there. -
I'm adding some user enhancement (anti-screw-it-up functions) to insure the desired process is executed.
Primary question: If I have an event that is handles by a value change in a text control, (event happens when you hit Enter or exit control with mouse) will the event also occur if you exit the control by programatically changing the focus to another control ?
I'm going to try and set up a temp vi to test this but wanted to see if anyone had tried this and if it works or not. My other option is to set up multiple event cases but I was hoping to use a single case to handle everything.
A few details, I have a test system that tests a product automatically when the product is placed in a cradle and the cradle is moved into position and activates a prox sensor. At end of test, system waits for prox sensor to de-activate before resetting the system.
If a unit fails, there are rework options and the unit can be retested. When it fails, a label prints defining the failure modes and provides a failing serial number. When the unit is retested, the failing serial number is entered into a text control. I want the re-test sequence (queued up in the Event) to occur when either 1, a failing serial number is entered or two a button is pressed (with mouse) I'm pretty sure pressing a button would in turn automatically create the text control change event so my button can probably be a dummy button just for appearances.
Where the hole is if the user enters a failed serial # and doesn't exit the control and then engages a pump to start the test. I can use a 'Empty Path/String' function but the control will continue to show empty as if nothing was entered until the Enter key is pressed or the mouse is used to exit the control.
If I can generate the event by changing the focus, then it will insure that if a failing s/n is entered, the re-test sequence occurs and if nothing exists in that field, it performs a first time test.
A little long winded for sure but any thoughts are appreciated.
Can't really post any simple code as this feature is in my top level vi and I have a really big app that doesn't warrant uploading.

Solved!
Go to Solution.Actually, changing the focus alone did not trigger the event but I was able to then utilize the Empty Path/String function to drive a Value(Signaling) node for the control.
