Fodler in detailed navigation wont open

Hey people!
I having some problems with folder in detailed navigation. The problem is that the folder wont expand. I have tested it on several computers, and i am only experince this problem on one computer. That means that its not a issue inside the portal, but with the browser, or some local security issue. All the computers are/should using the same security settings. Do you got any tips what could be wrong?
The computer it fails on, have earlier had IE 7.0 installed, but this is now removed and IE 6.0 is installed. So it could be some IE leftovers.

I would check the registry under Microsoft Software registry entries. There is a diagnotic tool or you could check the following manually.
HKCR = HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
HKLM = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Can't find services in the Detailed Navigation when open from Overview page

Hi,
We have developed a custom area page for our ESS application. The area is visible in the Overview page as well as in TLN (Top leavel navigation). When we open the area from TLN the services under this area are visible in the Detailed Navigation(DN) on the left. But when we are trying to open the area from the overview page we can't be able to see the services in the DN and we have realized that the focus is on "Overview" in the TLN. In DN also only the Overview link is coming. But for other standard ESS applications the focus in the TLN is changing.
Please help to find the solution.

Detailed navigation wont remove completely

Hi,
I've been through all the threads on SDN and as a result have removed all but the content area from my default framework page and set the 'set to invisible in navigation parameters' to yes for all the iviews in the role.
However I'm facing two issues.
Firstly, for all ESS screens the small right arrow 'expand' icon remains present for the detailed navigation window. Clicking on it will open a blank window which is not ideal. Can anyone advise how to remove the navigation window completely so that the expand arrow does not appear?
Secondly, rather randomly, for the family member depenendents page the detailed navigation appears as expanded despite being set to 'always close' in the view properties within the role (all other pages are fine). Can anyone advise how to overcome this?

In detailed navigation,on open in new window, goes to persoanlize page

Hi Friends,
from the link in detailed naviagtion,
if i try to open in new window by clicking on right click of mouse, it naviagtes to personalize page.
Can anybody give the reason why presonalize page is coming? Is there any solution to avoid this?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How to make all nodes in a detailed navigation tree open automatically??

Dear All,
I have added some iViews to two folders and add these two folders to a workset "Time" and then add "Time" to the role of Employee portal user.
How to make all nodes expanded automatically when this workset is clicked in EP??

Not surprising...it does not work even if you follow the exact way...
Role ->
         Workset 1
                      -> Page 1
                      -> Workset 2
                                       -> Page 2
                      -> Workset 3
                                       -> Page 3
When the user clicks on Role which is the Entry Point, I want the user to see Page1 (works alright) and want the tree node Workset 2 open (doesn't work)...I want tree node Workset 3 closed (which is what happens...)
The thing is Workset 2 has to be open...
This is what I've done...I've made the Initial State of Navigation Panel set to "Open"...
What else is to be done????

My user is asking the following requirement, when a Iview is opened from detailed navigation, they want to close the detailed navigation. Is it possible to do, if so please let me know how to do this.

The property which u say, shows the detailed navigation as closed when a user logs into portal.
In our system, when a user login into portal. The detailed navigation is opened and all the items in the detailed navigation are shown, this functionality my user require. When he/she click on the program or item in the detailed navigation. That program is opened in the content area. When a program is opend in content area, detailed navigation is still open. My user wants, detailed navigation should be closed automatically when a item or program in detailed navigation is opened in content area.

Open iviews in new window from detailed navigation context menu function

hello,
when we click in the detail navigation menu and in the context menu (because many of ours users are used to right click to open a link in a new window on the internet) on the functionnality "open in new window", the start page is always display instead of the corresponding iview ...
could you tell me if there is a configuration into the portal to :
1- suppress the function "open in new window" from the context menu in the detailed navigation !
2- make the iview displayed into the new window really the iview desired !

The frist part is very precise. Not possible. Period. The reason is that the links are calling JS and not directly calling a http target.
About the second part: Within the Light Framework, you create a Light Detailed Navigation. And in this case, the links are direct http links. So with that, you have what you want.

Can you default a detailed navigation folder to an "open" state?

We have a workset containing iViews, and the detailed navigation on the left displays the iViews within a folder as we would like. However, the folder defaults to being closed, thus making the user click twice to arrive at an iView inside. Is there a way to default that folder to being open?

Its is not possible to have a folder expanded by default when you have all other parallel folders are closed.
Either you can expand only the root folder on DLN or expand all the folders. Expanding all the folder option would need DLN .par customization.
Set the below settings to open launched folder:
Go to Your current Framework Page -> Desktop inner page -> Open Detailed Navigation iView and set the property -> Open Folder when Launched as yes.
Initial State of Navigation Panel option shall expand/close the entire DLN.

How can I make, that, by default, all detailed navigation view trees in the detailed navigation panel are open, i.e. expanded, when ou select a menu item?

I am not I understood the question, but however, I'll try...
There is a property called "Initial State of Navigation Panel" it's located under "Navigation" category in the Property Editor. This property Determines the initial display state of the navigation panel when the current object is selected in the navigation hierarchy at run time. 'Automatic' opens the navigation panel only when it contains items to display, otherwise it will be closed. Choose 'Open' or 'Closed' to force the initial display state.

Hi,
do you mean the navigation panel on the left side? If so find the frameworkpage you are using. Open, goto InnerDesktop. Select properties for this page. Here find a property "Initial state of navigation panel" - set to open.

Open first item in detailed navigation

Hello,
When I click on a navigation element in the 2nd level I would like to automatically open the first element of the detailed navigation. My problem is that if the element of the detailed navigation is a folder it doesn't open the first subelement.
Could someone tell me how to fix it?

Did you set the "Default Entry for Folder" property (see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/9d/36458642e748d7a4bfbf44f00cd7a7/frameset.htm) on the page/iView which should be displayed for that folder?!

When using Ip-address in EP URL, the Detailed Navigation menu doesnt open

Hi,
We are facing a strange situation where if we use the ip address in EP url (e.g. http://172.12.65.12:50000/irj) the Detailed Navigation menu does not open at all for all tabs, and also when we try to log off, the termination pop-up comes but after that nothing happnes and we remain at the same screen (from where we tried to log off).
However, when we use the host name in the url (e.g http://hostname:50000/irj) everything works absolutely fine.
Can anyone please help us with this.

The EP URL should be like this ..
http://<hostname_of_Portal server>.<Domain_name>:<http_port of WAS JAVA _CI>/irj
e.g http://myhost.sales.mycomp.com:50000/irj
The formulae to claculate the http port of WAS JAva CI is
50000+(100*Instance no of CI) or simply 5XX00, where XX stands for the 2 digit no representing the Instance number of the sentral instance.
If you dont know this number , there are other ways to find out this.

Detailed Navigation (disable expand./collapse icons opening tree

Hi,
I would like to adjust the detailed navigation as this site performs with having no action when clicking the +/- icons.
Please can someone point me in the right direction. I have been able to get the detailed navigation.par file out and look at the jsp code, but not sure where this requires a change.

If I am reading your question correctly, you want to create a detailed navigation similar to SDN so that when you click on the expand/collapse icon it doesn't do a server round trip.
Firstly I believe that the standard one performs a round trip to retrieve the nodes underneath the one that you have expanded.
With SDN we created our own detailed navigation iview so that the entire navigation structure is loaded immediately. This is also the same if you use the standard light navigation iview I believe, so you could simply use this iview instead.

you can do using default frame work page.
1.go in portal_content/portal_users/standard_portal_users
2.open default frame work page unclick the top_level_navigation
then you wont be able to see TLN

Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.
