Foggy screen

Cider leeked into my ipad 2 and now the screen is very blurred and foggy..
Apparently is still working..
But what should i do?
Should i put it in rice or not?
Could you help me please?

It's impossible to know that's going to happen with your device; the only thing that's certain is that a blurred screen needs to be remedied. The rice solution is okay for water exposure, but your unit has been been exiposed to fruit juice.
I'd suggest visiting your local Apple Store for assistance, or find a local repair shop to perform the same service (possibly at a lower price).

  • Lock Screen photo show's up under some kind of washout in front the image is not clear.

When I go to the wallpaper section in settings I choose a photo for my lock screen, but when I turn off the screen of my phone and turn it back on the photo show's up behind some kind of washout or something,  a foggy screen is in front of my picture and I only can see the colors of the image behind but not the clear photo.
    Help Me! Thanks

I had the same issue, as well as missing the Date.
So I forced restart (top and face button pressed at the same time for a few seconds),
and everything went back to normal.

  • I have a clear screen on firefox on startup. My desktop is completely visible thru Firefox screen.

Looking back at a possible cause. 1 or2 x's a script error would appear but I hit continue I'm sure. When the problem arose the screen was showing my yahoo email account. When I ret'd 3 or so hrs. later, I had a clear foggy screen on my pc with a thin border on the edge. Surprise I could barely make out what some of my desktop icons are. After rebooting twice, I shut down the pc completely for periods of 2 minutes. At which time on start the firefox screen would hold for about 8-10seconds than back to foggy clear.

hello oldeberwyn, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/940393#answer-377118 from another user] we found out that this might be related to malware active on your pc. please close all firefox windows and try [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|running firefox in safemode]] (by pressing the shift key while you're starting it). in firefox safemode go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove the entry named "Codec v1.0" or any other addons that look suspicious & you have not installed intentionally. afterwards see if you can run firefox normally again...
please also do an in-depth scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & keep firefox and your plugins up-to-date in order to stay safe on the web.

  • Charged $299 for water damage, from an occassional rain drop in top charging port

I have been charged $299 for water damage to my motorola Droid. The water is from an occassional rain drop coming in the top charging port. I contend that is a design flaw. Anybody else run into this?
    Subject shortened.

Of course it is a design flaw.  That is why I have a Casio Commando. My first smartphone was a Verizon blackberry and it was the worst for water damage...it got a foggy screen after being through a rainstorm inside a water resistant bicycle handlebar bag.  No phone should suffer damage from casual contact with water, folks.  People are 70% water after all.  You could put some of these in your pocket, go jogging, and ruin the phone...sort of defeats the purpose of the phone don't you think?
Good to see that Verizon was so reasonable about repairing it, don't you think?

  • Mac mini Suspend Mode

My Mac mini is a Late 2012 version.  When it used to sleep, I could press a button on the keyboard several hours later and it would wake up (almost immediately).  Lately, I have to press the power button instead.  It wakes up with a foggy screen and a progress bar and it's nearly two full minutes before I am greated with the password prompt.
I'm not aware of changing any settings or installing any new software / updates, but clearly I've changed something.
    What could it be?
    Many thanks.
    Chris

Try these commands in a terminal window.
to check which sleep mode is active
    pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
    ==============================
    to change sleep mode
0= old style sleep  3= new (save to disk style)
    sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
    ==============================
to remove sleepimage file which is as large as your installed ram, and save the disk space
    rm /var/vm/sleepimage

  • IOS6... How do I see the full screen when watching youtube videos and second the map quality is very poor, foggy most of the time and images overlap to each other... Can I restore to IOS6 if these problems can not be solved?

I just upgraded to IOS6 and I have some difficulties that I never had on IOS5:
How can a see the full screen when watching youtube. Address bar is always in view.
Maps are foggy and some images overlap to eachother.
If these problems can not be solved, how do I downgrade back to IOS5?

No, there is no legitimate way to downgrade iOS to an earlier version.
Be patient, Apple will eventually get around to fixing the "bugs" in iOS 6.

  • My screen suddenly got foggy and cloudy - iPhone 6 Plus

My screen suddenly got foggy and cloudy. When I press screenshot combination keys, I see a blue circle with the symbols 5JKL in black, this fades and I get a cloudy screen, then that fades to black. Trying reset with the Home plus Sleep/Wake button brings up the apple but that fades to the black screen. Anyone who have experience this? Or have tip that could help me?

  • My iPad froze, screen went foggy, then blue, then black and now won't turn on at all

I was on the internet, when the page just froze, it wouldn't let me select anything on the page, zoom in, return to the main page, recognise I'd put the charger in or turn the whole thing off. A couple of minutes later, the screen went grey/foggy with lines all across the internet page, then another couple of minutes later went bright blue, then a minute later turned to black. I tried seeing if it would turn on, but wouldn't, so left it overnight. Tried turning it on again this morning, but nothing. It wasn't low on power, it was at about 60-70% when it happened, so I know it isn't a simple "try charging it".
Am going to take it into a store, but wondered if anyone had a diagnosis now?
    Thanks

    Have you tried a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

  • 2008 glossy imac 24" screen is foggy

This very rainy summer my imac monitor has started to show large areas of condensation behind the glass making the display blurry in places.
What can I do about this? Surely it has happened to someone else. But I have never seen this before and am baffled.
    thanks for your comments.

On that iMac model, I believe the glass panel is held in place by a series of magnets, so it can be removed, as shown in this guide
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Replacing+iMac+Intel+24-Inch+EMC+2267+Glass+Panel/47 33/1
If you have an Apple Store nearby, the techs at the Genius Bar probably have the proper tools to remove it, get it moisture and dust free, and put it back.  Or, if you are the DIY type, get a pair of suction cups...

  • How do I get prints to match what appears on my screen?

I have noticed that my prints from online printing services (Ofoto, Shutterfly, Walmart, etc) all seem a bit darker than my prints appear on screen. I use Photoshop CS and sometimes iPhoto for editing, and the pictures look the same in those two programs. I have iPhoto set to add ColorSync profile, and I have Photoshop set to embed sRGB color profile.
Does the monitor calibration have anything to do with this? I mean, when I am making adjustments in Photoshop, I want my print to look like what I am seeing on the screen. The best I have been able to do is change my monitor calibration to gamma 2.2, which darkens the screen, but this seems to match my prints better. Is the best solution...... and is anyone else noticing this??
I mostly use my pictures for digital slideshows on DVDs, put I do want to be able to order prints also.
    Thanks for the help.....
Flat Panel iMac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hi Don,
If you are using an online printing service, they will 'auto adjust' your prints unless you indicate otherwise. Most, if not all, online photo processing will have a place where you can check off or select 'no auto adjust', otherwise their computers take over and try to adjust or average your digital images before printing. I have sometimes forgotten to check this off, and prints usually come back 'muddied or slightly foggy' looking with lower contrast and brightness.
Check with your service, I am quite sure they can turn off any type of 'auto adjustments'... good luck, Rick

  • Picture with LED looks foggy ???

When I take a picture with my Iphone 4 with the LED the image comes out Foggy [a lot of white} has anyone come across this problem.
Without the LED during the day the pictures are Great, but at night ...
    Please help

There is no way your iphone camera takes better pictures than an SLR. Its impossible. It only appears that way on the Ipnone screen. The truth is in the printing of the picture. Remember, Pixels have nothing to do with quality.
My old 3 megapixel Nikon D90 takes way better pictures than my 8 mp phone camera. It is all in the quality of the lens and the size of the CCD.  MP's are a sales pitch to fool the consumer.  However, if your not printing or enlarging photos then this does not matter. Most young consumers don't print their pictures. They are used on wedsites and shared between cameras. Again, its is kind of a design flaw by apple. But only because of the type of camera. Because the flash is small on a phone and the lens is low quality, you have to get close to the subject for it to work. This in turn creats flashback which causes ghosting. The only way to fix this is to put a more powerfull flash on the camera at the opposite end from the lens, which will eat up your battery life.  Remember, Phone makers don't know squat about cameras and how the lens and flash work. They just throw something together for the consumer.

imac DV 400MHZ   Mac OS X (10.3)   Grape

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Have you checked the monitor settings on Apple Menu > System Preferences... > Displays > The last time I used a CRT Mac was on my iMac 400 Grape but you should have some CRT control options that we don't seee on LCD displays.
The other thing to try is to boot in to OS 9 again and see if the issue persists. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences... > Start-Up Disk > select OS 9.1 and click Restart.

  • Recommended way to clean the screen MBP Retina?

Can anybody recommend a product or house hold remedy?  I have two different solutions designed for this purpose but they leave the screen smudgy/foggy/cloudy.  It's not that noticeable when you view it straight on but even the slightest angle can show it, especially when the content on the screen is dark.
    I have tried
    RQC LCD SCREEN CLEANING KIT
Suitable for: Laptop screen, digital camera, PDA, Plasma screen, LCD screen, CD/DVD media, mobiles, etc.  (or so it says)
    Also tried:
AF Screen-Clene  from AF Computer Cleaning Products (AF International, Kingsbury Park, Midland Road, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE11 0AN, UK)
(GB): Highly effective non-smearing pump action (NOT!) cleaner for use on monitor screens, anti-glare filters and glass surfaces of photocopiers and overhead projectors.  Spray onto lint-free cloths such as AF Safetiss or Safecloths and wipe surface.  Not suitable for mesh filters.  Contains no alcohol.  Anti-static, non-flammable.  Biodegradable.  1 litre refill available - order code SCS01L.  Keep out of reach of children.
    www.af-net.com
Looks alot more legit but produces the same bad results.
Both also produce bad results on my thunderbolt.
Strangley both seem to work at least OK (definitely a lot better) on MacBook Air and on other screens from other manufactures like Philips or Dell, etc.
Can anybody recommend that right stuff to restore my screens to a factory condition.  They are clean now but when viewed from an angle they are cloudy.   I don't think they are permenently damaged because cleaning them again moves the clouds around.
I'd post in the thunderbolt forum but nobody seem sto read that at all.  Never had a post answered in the thunderbolt category.  I am having the same exact issues with the built in screen on the Retina.
    Thanks.

I use this with great success:
    http://www.windex.com/en-US/Products/Pages/electronic-cleaner-and-wipes.aspx
I spray it on a small microfiber cloth and wipe of with a large microfiber cloth (12" x 15").  The display looks like it came out of the box.
