once again I am going to ask how the hell do you change the font size in the Skype apps, as it been that small it is given me a headache trying to read it, please someone help me with this problem, I would like to know why they get things going ok then stuff it up by changing it, I can't see the sense in that

Skype app not working and needs "repair"

Hello, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. But yesterday I tried to use my Skype app on my Sony Vaio (I'm running Windows 8.1) and it just hung there for a few minutes, it was just the skype screen with the logo on it. I turned away then noticed that the app had closed, so I clicked it again and the same issue happened. Figuring 3rd times the charm I clicked it, only this time I got a notification from my computer saying that the app couldn't open and to go to the Windows Store. Once i get there it says that the app needs to be repaired, so I press the repair button, and I get the little green dots at the top that show that its working. After a few minutes, I get a notification saying that the Skype app has been installed, so when I go to my start screen and press on it, it says the same thing, that the app can't open and to go to the Windows Store. So I left it alone, this morning when I turn on my laptop I have a blue square with no Skype logo instead of the usual Skype app, I click on it and the process starts over. For some reason it just isnt repairing...is anyone else having this issue or can help me solve it? :/

I cant view my contact's full profile on skype app...

I believe a contact has blocked/deleted me cuz he stopped getting online. I can still see his profile and all info on laptop but when i installed skype on my android phone, i cant see his full name(which is available on laptop) but only the skype id. Furthermore, when i tapped to see his profile, only this info was available:- gender: not specified, language: english (even though his native language is something else and i can still see that on laptop) and skype id. While on the pc, i can see the same old info:- full name, birth date, age, gender, language, no. of contacts, plus his profile picture.
So, I want to know that since this guy used to get online and we chatted on my pc, is that why i can still see his profile on my laptop? is there a possibility that he has blocked or deleted me thats why i cant see his profile on my phone, on which i installed the skype app AFTER he stopped getting online?

Nokia N8 Belle 'Vodafone skype app 'does not work

I spoke to vodafone oz, who said that Nokia have not sent belle over to them for testing yet....it's HIGHLY FRUSTATING to upgrade to belle, than not be able to use vodafone's own skype app (so i can get unlimited data very cheaply).....firstly it's a shame vodafone put a wrapper app behind skype in the first place!!! For now I have to just use skype from the ovi store and use my data allowance. Anyhow, will nokia be sending over belle anytime soon to vodafone australia????????? They said until they do and it passes testing, it won't be supported...I wish I had stuck with anna now, which nokia informed me can't be rolled back to. It seems nothing is easy!

Hi, thanks for the reply...the problem is that vodafone do UNLIMITED skype for $3...but you HAVE to download their skype wrapper program....the ovistore one is not free, as it uses data.....basically vodafone enforce you to use their skype wrapper program to get the unlimited data allocation.
I have the ovistore skype version, but this does not solve my problem. Vodafone are not supporting belle until nokia send them the sofware. They support anna, so thats why the skype wrapper program works with anna, and then you can use the unlinited $3 package.
Basicall for belle, when you choose skype for vodafone it says "phone not supported"
if you use anna, it says "phone supported" and vodafone skype program can be downloaded
is nobody else getting annoyed by this???????

How old is your battery? This weird trackpad action was the same thing that happened to me when my 3 year old battery started to swell. As it swelled it pressed up on the trackpad and caused all sorts of almost ghost like mouse pointer movements...many all on it's own. The battery itself still held a charge.
I took the battery out and could barely see where it had swelled. I then ran my MacBook Pro with battery out on the MagSafe adapter. No more ghost mouse pointer movements, resizing, dragging, and clicking.
If you can remove the battery DIY, try what I did.
I installed a new battery and everything is back to normal.

Skype App installed with windows 8.1 CPU usage

Skype App is consistently the highest consumer of CPU cycles on my Intel Core I5 machine. It is higher than the appliations that I use most ( Internet Explorer and Thunderbird e-mail) by an order of magnitude. This occurs when Skype has not been used. I could not find an option to stop it from running when starting the computer. My solution was to uninstall the Windows 8.1 installed app and install the old fashioned windows desktop client. Problem solved. In additon the user interface, IMHO is 1000% better!

I cant use my skype app

Earlier today I was on the skype app that came with my windows 8 computer. Then I log on later today and it says that I can only use skype desktop. I tried reinstalling it and that still didn't work. I don't like the way skype desktop is designed and i would like my skype app, what do i do?

Disable Spell Check for Skype APP windows 8.1

I am using the Skype App for windows 8.1. I am Spanish, but I regularly use English in my Skype conversations.
Is it even possible to turn off the spell check? I already disabled it for windows, in the PC settings but, for some reason I won't ever understand, Skype keeps correcting my words.
Please someone help me, before i throw my laptop out of the window.

It won't let me edit post for some reason.
If in some case you are satisfied with turning your keys globally, you won;t see the changes until you press ctrl +w. So correct steps for this procedure are:
You can do it via charms and disable spellcheck globally , but if you don't press ctrl-W then you return to skype, it won't show as working
If that rocks your socks then:
Launch the charms pressing Win+C.
Go to Settings and hit on Change PC settings.
Choose PC and devices and navigate to Typing.
Carry the slider right or left as you want to use the feature.
Come back to Skype and hit Ctrl+W to return to Skype Home and compel the changes to take effect.

For some reasons Skype online manuals don't work, so here's how you can do that.
Add this person via his Skype ID/name (ass you do with new contacts), then when you find them, you'll have an option to unblock them if you long click the result.

I have faced a similar issue: While being on invisible status on my mac and wish to be the same on my i-phone (latest system update), it would put me automatically on online status! That I do not want, I always want to be on invisible status. Basically the latest Skype update does not synchronize my status. Please try to fix this bug.
