Folder changed into .bundle file... can't open.... new to macs....
Hi. I use a music program called Ableton Live 7. My library (presets, samples, etc.) was located in the Library/Application Support Folder, but now it has magically changed into a .bundle folder and renamed itself "Ableton Live Engine."
Ableton Live 7 itself works fine, and under it's preferences it says it's library path is still in the Application Support folder.... what gives? I need to get back into my Ableton library folder so I can copy some of the files to a DVD for backup.
I'm brand new to macs. Macbook 2.2ghz, 1gig ram, I'm using.
Press the Control key while clicking on the bundle and choose Show Package Contents from the menu which appears.

I reinstalled OSX on my macbook which previously played all avi files with no difficulties. Now I am having difficulties playing Avi files with quicktime PRO that use the Mpeg layer 3 codec. I have done the following with no success: downloaded flip 4 mac, divx, xvid, 3ivx, Xvid codecs, changed MIME settings, and deleted and reinstalled.
Depending on the specific version and sometimes the ordering in which they were installed, you may have created a conflict among the components here. While most current VidX components should be able to play MPEG Layer-3 audio, v5.1.1 is the only free VidX codec that is bi-directional. If that is not a problem, then I would recommend you remove (or "hide") all components in the main "Library > QuickTime" folder. Next I would determine if one (or more) of the AVI associated components can actually play the specific files mentioned on their own. You do this by installing a compenent to be tested, opening the player with one of the problem movies, and checking for correct audio and video playback. Log your results, close the player, remove the tested component, and move on to the next component to be tested. Once you deterime which component(s) may function correctly, I would then move on to determine which specific components are in conflict by repeating the tests but leaving the components installed after each test. In this case start with a component that is known to work and is the one you most desire to use (if more than one works). If the player stops working, then you have located a potential conflict. Set the offending component aside and continue testing until all components have been tested and are either installed or set aside. The last step is to simply evaluate component alternatives and configure you system for those files most often played. In my case the VidX v6 Pro components did not seem to get along with the 3ivX D4 v4.5 and/or Casio AVI and/or XVIDDelegate component combination. -
Content generation error. Please confirm the file can be opened in InDesign?
I have been trying to upload a couple of files to a folio that was built yesterday, everytime I try to upload one of them I recieve the error message "Content generation error.Failed to open the InDesign file. Please confirm the file can be opened in InDesign." I have no idea why this is happening as one of the files was successfully uploaded to the folio yesterday and I have not made any changes to it since. I have a also restarted and trashed InDesign preferences so there are no problems there. If anyone has any answers or has experienced any similar problems could you please let me know.

Adam FlanaganThat was the first thing I tried because obviously I wanted to find out if it was a problem with my file or a general issue with all uploads to that folio. It seems to be working ok now, although I still have no idea what the problem was and I have never seen that error message before :s

I am trying to install software for iTwin Connect, but after downloading the dmg file and launching the program, I receive a message saying the file can't open and to check my internet connection. Any ideas?

While opening a file in Adobe reader 10 in Windows 7,I am getting the error as
"The maximum number of files are already open.No Other files can be opened or printed until some are closed."
Can Anyone help or suggest a setting for this ?

Could you please let me know how many files have you opened simultaneously.
This count will include files that are being displayed as well as opened (without being shown in the viewer).
Using Reader, you cannot make any setting for the same, but close some of the files before crossing that limit.
It also depends on your OS and memory size as you would need enough memory to open many files at a time.

Can't open new tab by going to file/new tab (or CTRL+T or clicking on the new tab field). Only way is to right click on a link and choose open in new tab.

I can't open PDF files, can't open, update, or download Adobe Reader. (I had it until recently.) None of the "helps" seem to help. I can't even open Adobe Reader now.
Ignore the instructions about "edit options", to install Adobe Reader download the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/ and run the installer. Alternatively, a direct link for the latest version of Adobe Reader is:

The Ask Toolbar is probably causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13 version. Disable that extension or un-install it.

Illustrator CS2 can't open new file with network printer installed
It seems that with my network printer set up I can't do much with Illustrator, I can't open new files and I can't print without opening up the printer setup menu in Windows.
Photoshop CS btw, I can't open it at all.
I take the network printer offline and everything is fine, except then I don't have a printer.

DavidCreating a Dummy Generic printer fixed the issues of opening a new file in Illustrator and being able to open PS at all.
However Illustrator is still taking several minutes to print something as simple as a test circle.
The menu I was referring to is Printers & Faxes under control panel, though I realized later that may not have had anything to do with it. It may have simply been coincidental timing. I opened the P&F window about 10 minutes after hitting print and just after opening P&F the print window popped up. It simply may have been taking 10 minutes for the print window to open.
With the network printer set up as the default printer if I try to open Photoshop a window opens but just stays a grey blank screen, no credits box, nothing. Then if after a few minutes I hit ctrl+alt+del it says Photoshop not responding.
What I was doing to take the printer offline was to completely delete the network printer from Printers & Faxes.
I'll see if they have an updated set of drivers, but I think I have the latest ones, as I updated them a month or so ago.

Since yesterday all my usual .xls files will not open (Office for Mac 2011). CAN open .xlxs files. Default 'open with' is Microsoft Excel.app. No software updates done yesterday or the day before (or maybe a Silverlight or an Acrobat one by accident?). Have repaired disc permissions. HHD name is still same as it always was. What next? Thanks

To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

When I´m on the internet I can not open new windows, not by ¨file new windows ¨ or by ctrl N. New tabs work but no new windows. It worls well with all other browsers.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

i install JDK 1.6 update 29 x64 (jdk-6u29-windows-x64.exe from ORACLE) and already set environment path of WB_JRE_Home to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6
but in my ADEP server has installed in Windows 2003 Server (x86) and install WB too. It worked.I am having this issue also on my Windows 7 64 bit machine. When I try to open Workbench it takes forever, slips into a non-responsive state, and then when it finally does open I can't actually see anything in the design palette. On my old XP machine ADEP Workbench opened just fine. And on the same Windows 7 machine ES2 Workbench opens just fine.
Any ideas?
