Trying to update itunes on pcXP,new iPhone 5s. I keep getting the error:' the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

After trying to run the iTunes automatic update, I got this box on my pc "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. I ran a search for the file, and entered that into the box, to no avail. Then I launched iTunes and clicked on 'check for updates', and was told I had the latest version 11.0.1 I think it is. Trying to upgrade my iTunes for my new IPod Touch(32GB). It needs a newer version than I have. When running the installer, it must remove the old iTunes first, I assume. This is what I receive:

There is a dropdown box with 2 options:

This leads me to another dialog box that says: The file .......is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes. Try to find the installation package iTunes64.msi in a folder from which you can install iTunes.
That doesn't work either. What to do?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

Never had issues with itunes. However, currently unable to up-date to 10.4 version. It tells me to enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'tunes.msi' in the box below. Can't find this. Should I remove itunes and re-install all together? thanks
