Folder Disappeared - Please help

I had many files and folders on my desktop, some with many files nested (a few gigs of data). Anyway someone was going to use my computer and I didn't want to confuse them with all the stuff on my desktop. I have often used the trick of just creating a new directory called "Clean Desktop" where I select "All" on the desktop then deselect with "Shift key" the main drive, and any network, or other devices connected to the computer, then I drag everything into the new folder as a temporary way to consolidate.
This last time I tried this the Desktop along with the folder (now containing everything I had on the desktop) disappeared completely. It took me a few restarts and playing with the finder view preferences just to get the desktop back up. However, my "Clean Desk" folder with all the contents of my desktop never returned.
I can not find it by searching with spotlight.
I can not see it with apple script or a program like BBEdit which allows one to see "ALL" files.
I tried starting up from a CD and running disk utilities.
I even used Disk Warrior to search for erased or corrupt files.
I know I did not Trash anything and I feel as though the remaining space on my drive has stayed the same, so it feels like it all could be somewhere.
Any help greatly appreciated, and will respond with any troubleshooting questions.

Performance tip: Keep the Desktop clutter-free (empty, if possible)
Mac OS X's Desktop is the de facto location for downloaded files, and for many users, in-progress works that will either be organized later or deleted altogether. The desktop can also be gluttonous, however, becoming a catch-all for files that linger indefinitely.
Unfortunately -- aside from the effect of disarray it creates -- keeping dozens or hundreds of files on the Desktop can significantly degrade performance. Not necessarily because the system is sluggish with regard to rendering the icons on the desktop and storing them in memory persistently (which may be true in some cases), but more likely because keeping an excessive number of items on the Desktop can cause the windowserver process to generate reams of logfiles, which obviously draws resources away from other system tasks.
As such, keeping as few items as possible on the Desktop prove a surprisingly effective performance boon. Even creating a single folder on your Desktop and placing all current and future clutter inside, then logging out and back in can provide an immediately noticeable speed boost -- particularly for the Finder.

The iTunes Library.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "i Tunes" folder in the "Music" folder. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have been trying for over 2 weeks now trying to get my iTunes to open up so I can use my iTunes but I have not had any luck since I up graded to the new itunes. I have tried uninstalling (all apple programs) and reinstalling and nothing seems to work. Ah I see. That folder would only be there if you had perfomed the earlier steps in that section.

I was looking through our resources and found an article with information regarding that error message. The article is called iTunes for Windows XP: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1866.
Here is the text but the article contains images for a visual reference:
Verify the location of your Windows XP My Music folder. The default location for this folder is
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music
If you do not have this folder at the default location and have not moved it to another location, consider creating one inside your My Documents folder.
Download and install Tweak UI from the Microsoft PowerToys website athttp://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Note: This utility is for Windows XP only. Please review the system requirements before installing.
Once you have installed Tweak UI, open it from the Start menu.
In the column on the left, click on the plus symbol next to My Computer and select Special Folders.
In the right pane under Special Folders, choose My Music from the Folder pop-up menu.
Click the Change Location button. You may see a warning message appear with precautions for changing this setting; after reviewing the message, click Yes.
In the resulting window, browse for the My Music folder as described in step 1, and click OK.
Reinstall or open iTunes.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, the settings for the current user may be corrupted, which could cause iTunes not to install or open. You may have to install and open iTunes in a different Windows user account.

My iphoto icon has disappeared from my dock and applications folder. Please HELP

I tried clicking on the iphoto icon in the dock and nothing happened. I went looking for it in the applications folder and it wasn't there. I then moved the icon from the dock on to the desktop and it poof'd into thin air! GONE. What can I do? Please help! VERY upset.

reinstall iPhoto from the restore disks that came with your computer -
reinstall iPhoto - go to your receipts folder ("Your hard drive" ==> library ==> receipts) and remove any iPhoto receipts and reinstall from the restore disks that came with your computer - do a custom install of bundled software only

Purchased a Movie, which has just disappeared - PLEASE HELP!!!

I really need some help here please,
A few hours ago, I purchased a Movie from the iTunes store which took 3 hours to download to my iPod touch which cost £6.99. A soon as it finished, I took then plugged it into my PC to transfer the purchase to my iTunes library, for a backup.
Whilst I was doing this, iTunes (as per usual) froze on me when it was syncing and did not respond at all when I moved and clicked an area of the open window. Because of this, I was forced to quit iTunes and re-open it again, to try and get the film onto my PC.
When I connected my iPod to iTunes again, the Movie disappeared from my iPod and there was no sign of it anywhere on my PC either. Where is it?!
Because of this and un-aware I had to pay £7 again to download the movie on my iPod, I repeated the whole process and as before, the file just went missing on both my iPod and PC.
You may ask "Why didn't you purchase it through iTunes on your PC?" and the reason why is because the iTunes Store doesn't work on the PC any more. I've tried hundreds of new and old solutions to fix this and none of them seem to work. I've disabled EVERY type of firewall that could potentially be blocking me using the store, disabled all spyware programs and it still won't work.
I feel very angry and annoyed here, as I've spent £14 on 1 film I've tried to get twice and attempting to find a missing file that never appeared on my PC.
So how do I resolve this constant freezing probelm with iTunes, how do I get the iTunes Store working again, and most importantly, is there any way of me getting my £14 back? Please help!
Any answer will be greatly appreciated.

There is no 'f' in the loop, I don't understand what the loop would evaluate, unless k is a constant in which case the loop is redundant.

If k is a function of frequency you need to say what that function is. For example if you are evaluating 'k' for changing 'f' and applying it to the equation for R. I don't know what the best procedure would be but my first port of call would be nested loops: 'R' for each 'k' for each 'f' ?
In the absence of a function for k this vi would evaluate you formula for k=f, I don't know if this wil help any.

Folder Issue Please Help

Here's my dilema. I would like to use the Artist field for the name of the credited artist and the album artist field for any guest artists that may appear. The problem is if I enter info into the album artist field that particular song gets moved into a folder named after the album artist info I provided. Is there a way to have the song remain in the folder named after the artist? NOT the album artist. Please help I will be your best friend. Thanks in advance!!!

That is backwards.
The Artist field is who does the song. *Album Artist* is who's album it is.

Problem trying to move iTunes folder! Please HELP!

Please help. I am using Windows 7 with iTunes 10 and cannot for whatever reason move or change the location of the iTunes media folder. I have uninstalled icloud (was using with iPad) and iTunes several times but each time I change the location and consolidate (i really don't mind loosing all the stored info) the folder jumps back to the same location on my D drive. I have tried everything from following online guides and even changing the default music folder location but it keeps going back to the same place.

Note, if iTunes won't stay connected to a new library after you've used the shift-start technique then it is possible the problems are down to a corrupt iTunes Prefs.plist file.

Table Cell Contents Disappears Please HELP!!!!

PROBLEM: I have a different tables within different table cells in the Master table. One table per Master cell. Once I click on a table cell (0,0) and click on another table cell (1,1) the cell (0,0) blanks out. Likewise with other cells so that if I've click on all the cells in the Master Table and then clicked somewhere else all cell contents have disappeared.
QUESTION: Do I need to call some UI refresh procedure????? I have a cell renderer which returns the table for each Master's Cell.

the problem is that the DefaultCellEditor can't handle tables.
So you have to write your CellEditor, which returns another table as Editor.

All Entourage events and Tasks just disappeared - PLEASE HELP

PLEASE HELP!!
This is what JUST happened to me. Everything between Entourage 2008, iCal and my iPhone had been working fine for a couple months. Then, about 3 days ago, my iCal calendar went blank and so, of course, did my iPhone.
After reading some discussions and finding that this was not uncommon, I tried what seemed to be the common fix:
1. In the Entourage sync settings,
2. Turn off 'sync with iCal';
3. Delete the 'Entourage' calendar from iCal;
4. Go back to Entourage and turn 'sync with iCal' back on.
After doing this I was prompted, during the subsequent sync, to resolve conflicts. Of course I chose for all events from Entourage to erase those on iCal. That's where the 'fun' began.
First, almost every event in Entourage duplicated, but still nothing in iCal. Then, AS I WATCHED THE SCREEN, one-by-one every single event in my Entourage calendar DISAPPEARED!!! Finally, in iCal, the 'Entourage' calendar symbol re-generated itself, but no events whatsoever. So now every single event in my entire calendar is gone! All tasks have been erased as well.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me a way to recover those events in Entourage. This is my only work calendar and it was chock full. Unfortunately, I'm not on Leopard on this machine, so I can't use Time Machine.

It sounds like you might be using two different applications for taking notes. That could get confusing. Have a look at this tutorial on using the Notes application that comes with iPad. I just bought two ibooks. they power up but all the screen will display is a little folder that blinks icons but thats all i have two disks for software installation and software restore but all it does is that folder thingie. please help.

You need the original installation disks specific for each machine or compatible Mac OS X retail disks which you can buy on eBay or from several dealers.

Apps disappeared, please help!

Hi iPod experts!
My iPod Touch crashed and rebooted. After the reboot, I cannot see any of my apps. I had 6 pages of apps before, but now there is only the default first page (calculator, etc.).
I tried to reset the iPod a couple of times by holding the round button + power...to no avail. When I plug it into iTunes, I do see the space that was previously occupied by "Apps" is now "Other". So it looks like my apps are still on the iPod, I just cannot see them.
Unfortunately, I don't have a backup of the iPod on iTunes. Please help!

For some strange reason my "To do list" is gone. I made sure it is checked in the
Settings - General - Personalization - Home Screen - Mode Settings - Home Screen Applications - Enabled Applications
I have also tried factory resetting , it did not help
And when i try to create a To do list when i go to my calendar , i get a " System Error "

Btw folks. I tried backing up the phone and it failed. Everything - contacts, notes, calendar, etc - all failed to be back up using PC Suite. I have no idea what's going.
