Folder for stored images (Portalheader)

Hello experts,
could anyone let me know where I can find all the uploaded images for the Portalheader(Masthead). Where can I find the folder who is ressponsible for the administration of the images/background images??
Thank you
Regards
Marco

Hi Marco,
You can find those uploaded image files in KM. KM is like your file server but is within the Portal that you can use to manage your files/content/data. Files, content or data exist in KM can be index and search via the Portal TREX (Search Engine).

  • Which is better datatype for storing Images in 11gr2 Database ?

    Can anyone tell me which datatype should be maintained for storing images in database in terms of
    1. Space
    2. Speed.
    And, Is there another way for storing images instead of database ?
    Thanks/Regards in advacne.

    Which one have better speed, database system or file system ?Database is better all around. It is not just a question of speed. It is a question of storage, security, flexibility, scalability, robustness and so on.
    If you use ASM and raw devices from a storage array or SAN, how do you get o/s files onto that? (requires a file system on the SAN/array LUNs)
    If it is inside the database, database security, concurrency and consistency apply to the image. Outside the database? How do you control who has access? Prevent someone with slippery fingers from accidentally deleting/renaming/moving images files? How do you backup up the image data with the image attribute data in the database?
    Having all this inside the database, part of the database, managed by the database, provides you with more flexibility, robustness, and security. After all a RDBMS is a data management system - it is designed for managing data. And that includes managing binary data.
    As for speed. Reading a 24MB image is reading 24MB worth of data. Whether that data is read by process A from disk1, or process B from disk2 - the amount of data is the same. So if you want faster I/O, then use faster disks. If disk1 is faster, process A will perform better reading the image than process B. If disk2 is faster, the roles are reversed.
    So I/O speed is not a direct function of process A or process B. It is a direct function of the I/O storage and fabric layer. Yes, a process's method of I/O can make a difference (e.g. using block reads not aligned with the physical blocks on disk). But this is more a configuration issue than process doing badly designed I/O calls.
    So the speed question is a bit loaded as it has more to do with the architecture and design of the I/O system - and less to do with the process doing that I/O. You can have a highly optimised I/O process doing poorly using an old and slow I/O layer, and poorly written I/O process doing pretty well on a SSD I/O layer.
    Databases like Oracle is designed for dealing with data - and thus effectively dealing with I/O. Lots of it. For lots of data. So I/O process design is not a consideration. The database processes will use the I/O layer as optimally as possible and as configured.

  • IFS for Storing images?

    Would it make sense to use iFS to store and serve images that are uploaded
    (via browser) and then displayed on a website?
    When storing the imgages directly on the disk we run into scalability issues
    as well as having to worry about propagating copies of each image to each
    web
    server.
    Does it make more sense to store the images in iFS or simply in a BLOB (or
    whatever) in a normal Oracle table?
    Is anyone using iFS for this?
    Regards
    null

    Well, it runs more resources than the database itself does, since it runs as an external Java application. Check out the Installation Guide for recommended memory and disk for running it on the same machine as the database or on the middle tier.
    As Hanne said, it all depends on your priorities. If all you want to do is store and you're an adroit database programmer, you might bypass iFS altogether. If you don't want to do any development to give users the ability to upload, download, and search for images, and you'd rather give them familiar network protocol interfaces like Windows networking and FTP than a custom application, I'd run the file system.

  • Rescan Project Folder for New images

    I've got an existing folder structure on my hard drive that I wanted to maintain but try importing into aperture. I imported each folder into aperture as a project. I imported, but left the files in their existing location. Since then i've added addtional files to various folders in Finder. This is where my question comes. Is it possible to have Aperture rescan the folder associated to a project and have it import new files into aperture?

    See my Aperture AppleScripts page at <http://homepage.mac.com/brettgross/Aperture/ApertureAppleScripts/index.html> for the Sync Folder into Project script. I think it will do what you want.
    That is what I use it for, at least...

  • How can i use adobe drive/cs4 for storing images and interact this with adobe cq5.4 DAM...

    Hi,
    Can anybody suggest me i want use adobe drive to store images and i want to access the images for my cq5.4 instance..
    I want to integrate drive to the cq5.4 dam for ignoring the dam burden on cq5 instane repository..
    Is it possible to use this drive? or is there any other way i can achieve my task?
    Thanks,
    Sony C.

    Adobe Drive software doesn't store images; it enables integration of a DAM system with Creative Suite and now Creative Cloud desktop apps.
    Adobe Drive 3 is the first version of the software to support integration with Adobe's DAM. This version was designed to work with CS5 and CS5.5 apps.
    We do not have a version of Drive that supports integration with CQ 5.4 DAM and CS4 apps.

  • ALERT: Bargain: laptop for storing images in the field

    This is a slim laptop with DVD and CD burning capabilities:

    Toshiba - Satellite Laptop with Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T2370
    On sale at Best Buy through the 31st of this month. In-store only, not available online. I was able to finagle an additional 10% discount over the already amazing $430 sale price so it came to $387 plus sales tax and a $8 California "recycling fee."
    DISCLAIMER: I have absolutely no connection to Toshiba or to Best Buy.
    I just thought this would be a nice portable storage and archival device for photographers on the go.

    Wait until you start to wander into the realms of uber-low-light photography or watch enthralled as you track a fast and erratically moving object as the camera locks on to it in 3-D and nails it time and again at 9 fps Ann. <br />Those are the areas that no amount of previous experience (both digital and film) has prepared me for, though as you indicate, it's really more a progression than a learning curve.
    <br />
    <br />Yesterday I hand-held macro photographs at 1:1 of a tiny critter with rapidly flailing translucent feelers (or front legs?) negotiating a little blue toadstool cap no more than 1/4" across in a deep, dark forest gully (1/40, f/4.8, ISO 6400, 105mm Micro).

    <br />They're not the best macro results ever seen, but considering the circumstances it's something I would never have even thought to look for, let alone try to photograph pre-D3. I kept catching myself muttering "Extraordinary" under my breath as each exposure showed a result on the screen.

  • How choose destination folder for images edited in external program?

    Using LR 2.3 with the Windows 7 beta. It seems to me there should be a preference or option to set the destination folder for an image sent for editing in Photoshop. The default is the folder where the originals are located, which seems to me to be the worst choice. In any event, I can't find where in LR the user can choose a destination folder for the edited image. Ideally, the user should be able to choose this for each set of images being edited, and the choice would be available in the dialog that appears when the user sends an image out to Photoshop.
    So is there a way to set the destination folder for the image that results from sending an image out for editing in Photoshop or other external application?
    Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks very much. I have CS4, but haven't installed it yet. So I have been using the rendering option. Apparently that is part of the problem, because I seem to recall that there was a Save As option shown when LR 2 was compatible with whatever the ACR with CS3 was.
    Saving with originals seems an odd default. I wouldn't think too many photographers mix processed work with originals, and making the destination folder choice always available wouldn't seem to be a particularly difficult piece of engineering.
    Anyway, your answer was very helpful.

  • Data type for Saving Image in SQL database

    Hi,
        Which is the best way for saving images in the database? Filestream or Varbinary(max)?. Will the Varbinary max comsume much space or it will only take the actual size of the data?

    I've used FILETABLE for storing images in SQL 2012
    You can configure it to have transact and non transact access if you want

  • Storing images to persistent storage

    Hi all
    Does anyone know a good tutorial for storing images to persistent storage?
    I am comfortable in the process of storing items such as int and string etc.
    writeUTF ()
    readUTF()
    etc...But i cannot see how to store an image? and the inverse how to load the image back up.
    Mainly my lack of knowledge hinges on the fact that I do not know how to convert an Image to a byte array and make an image from a byte array?
    Then using this byte array what methods I uses from the DataOutputStream and DataInputStream for population?
    If anyone knows or can help would be very grateful?
    jimbobegg

    For anyone concerned heres a solution I used in its own class:
    public static void convertImageAndStore( Image photo, DataOutputStream daos )
         int imageWidth, imageHeight;
         imageWidth = photo.getWidth();
         imageHeight = photo.getHeight();
         int[] imgRgbData = new int[ imageWidth * imageHeight ];
         try
              photo.getRGB(imgRgbData, 0, imageWidth, 0, 0, imageWidth, imageHeight );
              //Start to write the different parts to the
              //DataOutputStream
              daos.writeInt( imageWidth );
                    daos.writeInt( imageHeight );
                    daos.writeInt( imgRgbData.length );
                    //Serialize image and store
                    //Serialize the image raw data
                    for (int i=0; i<imgRgbData.length; i++)
                        daos.writeInt(imgRgbData);
         catch( Exception exc )
              System.err.println( "Exception thrown by Utility::convertImageAndStore()");

  • Is there any way to force iPhoto to present faces by folder for identification rather than randomly?  Would provide better context for identification especially if a huge number of images is involved.

    Before I commit the time and energy required to load and tag faces in 25,000 images within iPhoto, I need some questions answered;
    Is there any way to force iPhoto to present faces by folder for tagging rather than randomly?  When so many images need tagging, over many years, the context of a folder helps with the identification. The work around is to load the images into iPhoto one folder at a time and do the tagging then.
    How do I get iPhoto to present the tagged faces by last name rather than first name? When so many faces will be identified, it is much easier to find people by surname, particularly when I share the library within the family. The work around is to enter names as last name and first name.  Being able to toggle the sort is much more desireable.
    Is there a way to export a portion of the library including faces?  I want to pass on portions of this huge 125 GB library to my family members.
    Since my family members will need an Apple computer to view the images and faces, they will likely have their own photo library.  So is there any way to combine two libraries and merge the faces?
    About 2/3 of my images have been scanned, so the date of creation is the scanned date rather than the date the photo was taken.  Will this mess up any sequencing or the retrieval of faces?

    If I want to carve off part of a library, I presume the way to do this is to make a copy of the library using PLM then go into iPhoto and delete what I don't want.  The result is the carved off portion.
    You don't need Library Manager to delete the portion you don't want.
    As a general rule: when deleting photos do them in batches of about 100 at a time. iPhoto can baulk at trashing large numbers at one go.
    If I want to merge two libraries, PLM implies that it will do this but will the Faces be merged too?
    I believe so.

  • I have no folder for firefox in application support... where can I find the stored passwords from my time machine back up!!?

    Everywhere I look it says I should have a folder for Firefox in library/applicationsupport/ BUT I don't have one! I'm looking to restore passwords from a time machine back up but there's no Firefox folder so I don't where to look. I even did a fresh install of Firefox on my mac and even then it never created a Firefox folder in library/applicationsupport/... they must be store somewhere in my back up...!?

    Hello kamilr, check also in :
    ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder>
    The tilde character (~) refers to the current user's Home folder, so ~/Library is the /Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Library folder.
    note that in mac 10.7 and above, the ~/Library folder is hidden by default, see : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders#Mac_OS_X
    when you find the file seek for '''key3.db''' and '''signons.sqlite''' files.
    Your passwords are stored in two different files, both of which are required:
    '''key3.db''' - This file stores your key database for your passwords. To transfer your saved passwords, you must copy this file along with the following file.
    '''signons.sqlite''' - Saved passwords

  • What is the best method for storing/retrieving images?

    Friends,
    OS: RHEL AS 3
    DB: 9iR2
    We have some critical situation. We need to scan all our Purchase orders and to store in our pc. we don't want to store the images in the database. it will be a big headache. We have 4 branches in different cities. All the branches are connected to our local network. We have novell server in every branches to store the oracle forms and the db is centralized in our head office. The purpose is to view any PO in any branch.
    so,what will be the best solution for storing the images for our archiving?
    thanks & regards

    Yes - a good quality external hard drive is the answer
    Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
    And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
    And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
