Folder similar to Res folder in OBIEE 11g

Hi
There is res folder in OBIEE 10g in OracleBI/web/app which acts as the source for all images on dashboards. Similar to res folder in OBIEE 10g, what is the respective folder in OBIEE 11g that acts as the source for all images on the dashboards. Please, also mention the location of the folder in OBIEE 11g.
Thanks.

  • Create New folder options is not coming in OBIEE 11G.

    Hello Everyone,
I am testing Authorization part of the dashboard rite-now and issue is like I am not able to Create any New Folder within My Folder for Catalog.
I gave my self Read, Traverse Access to dashboard and Reports that are stored in Shared Folder, now I want to use Shared folder's Reports and want to create My Dashboard. but even I am not able to Create My Dashboard too because I can't save any reports in My Folder.
I checked with Manage Privileges      options too, where I gave access to any Authenticated Users to create Personal Storage (My Folders and My Dashboard) , Create Folders , Save Customizations ..
if there any other change that i need to do???
    Thanking you..

    Hi Veer,
Yes, I just tested this thing out in 11.1.1.5. Please find more details below.
    1. I create a sample 'BIConsumer' user.
    2. Logged into the BI Server.
    3. Navigated to Catalog and clicked on New
    4. I could get only two options 'Report Job' and 'Action Intelligence'.
    To provide proper privileges,
    1. Logged into BI Server as BIAdministrator.
    2. Navigated to Administration -> Manage Privileges -> Catalog/
    3. Given explicit permissions to 'BIConsumer' to create folders and 'My folders and Dashboard'.
    To verify,
    1. Logged back to BI Server as 'BIConsumer' user.
    2. Now, in the catalog could see 'New Folder' option under 'My folders'
For further analysis, can you please check which roles this particular user is having? You can click on username at the top right corner -> My Account->Roles and Catalog Groups.
    Thank you,

  • File access to /res folder before decompression

Hi, anyone please assist on how i would access a compressed text file in the /res folder before I can decompress it. • Transfering star rating from a low res folder to a high res folder in bridge?

I am wondering if anyone has ever needed to do this or am i the only one?
I have a folder of low res images that have been rated with stars in bridge.  I'd like to move these star ratings to another folder of CR2 files that are the exact same file names except they are CR2 and not JPEG's.
    Any way to do this?
At the end of the day i have about 1500 images that have been "selected" and i want to pull these same high res images out of the 4000+ images in the high res folder.  Any help you can give would be great.
    Thanks a bunch.
incase you are wondering why not just rate the high res...Shooting wirelessly to laptop, my client is making the low res images as their selects and then later i'll deliver only these as high res.
    Thanks again!

I am wondering if anyone has ever needed to do this or am i the only one?
I recognize this question but I'm afraid that was about many other situations...
Maybe you can ask in the Adobe Bridge Scripting forum if someone has a solution for this but in my experience the time looking or learning for a solution exceeds the time then just bite the bullet and start picking them manual (and don't forget to charge the client for the hours, but you are right, it is better to have a simple solution and yet still charge hours)
I would start to select the rated files in Bridge and add a clear visible label to all the files and then drop (or copy) the lot in the HiRes folder,
Select sort order by filename (or even try date created) and just start clicking on the files next to the labeled jpeg files with holding down cmd key (on a Mac, don't know the windows but this key keeps adding only the clicked files to a selection. Every 10 or 20 files hit a rating or labeling key so you can filter those files later on in the process to only keep the wanted HiRes files in view.
When done choose the filer panel to view only CR2 and label / rating and you have the wanted selection.
Yes it takes a bit time but so does finding out a solution. If you have to deal with it more often you better try the scripting option immediately.

  • Android res folder not included in the ane extension

    Hi.
I am trying to develop an android extension fro air, but I have a problem with resources.
According to this : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/extensions/WSf268776665d7970d-2e74ffb4130044f3619-7ff8.ht ml
The res folder should be included inside the created extension. But it actually isn’t.
for this test I simply use the basic Hello world Vibrate test, but I added a new png in the drawable folder.
As you can see while unziping the .ane file, then going to META-INF/ANE/Android-ARM
    the res file is absent.
As a result, the program crashes when I try to access my ressource FREContext.getResourceId("drawable.ppy_accessory_manage.png")
Has anyone managed to make resources work with ANE in android?
PS, here is my batch to compile the ANE :
    set adt_directory=C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6\sdks\4.6.0\bin
    set root_directory=C:\Users\hugo\Adobe Flash Builder 4.6

  • Cannot load ttf banglaplain font from /usr/share/fonts & there is no 'res' folder where to place this ttf as I used to do in earlier version of ff. How to load this bangla font?

    Hi,
I see the www.guruchandali.com website a lot, which use a ttf bengali font (not a unicode). In earlier version, I used to place the banglaplain.ttf in .mozilla/res folder, but in this ff 5.0 there is no 'res' folder. Also, the banglaplain.ttf is not accessed from the /usr/share/fonts. Now, how I can see the bangla fonts in ff 5?

The usual location for installing that font would be in the ~/.fonts/b folder. That location work in Firefox 3 and 4 for me. That font doesn't seem to be compatible with Firefox 5 (Aurora) and the Nightly build. Both do not use the font even if I select it directly as the default font. I have another font BanglaFontNormal.ttf that still works in Firefox 5 and 7 if I select it. I don't know if that has the same mapping because I can't read that script.

Which tool is trying to parse those xmls? You have any VSS plugins for
    Eclipse?
You can try Resource Filters on the project to exclude the pattern.

  • OBIEE 11g Analysis : Change Report edit link to go Criteria tab instead

How to change the setting to have the "Edit" to go to criteria tab instead of Results (Compond view)?
Many time we may need to change the filter from default setting and then run the report or if the filter is setup to be used from a dashboard (using "Prompted") option...then the report attmpts to run the report without values...
And I have not checked to see if the server cancels the query to the database when the user navigates to the Critetia Page as there is no cancel link...(as it displayed in 10g...)
FYI, We have just started using OBIEE 11g in a dev environment, we are in the process of configuring the new env to get ready for prod...
    Thanks
    Sundar

    Hi,
By default, the Action request is sent to results tab. You can modify it by editing the dashboardeditor.js file found in /app/res/b_mozilla/dashboards folder.
    Steps:
    1) Open dashboardeditor.js file.
    2) Search for the function "DUIModifyReport".
    3) Inside the function you will find that ***"&Action=results&Path="****
    4) Change results to criteria. In other words, the changed code will look like
    ****"&Action=criteria&Path="*****
    5) Re-deploy the code and bounce the services.
-- Remember, this will affect for entire dashboard, and for all users. ---
If you want to avoid step (5), then manually copy the changed dashboardeditor.js to /user_projects/domains/BIfoundation/servers/bi_server1/tmp/_WL_user/analytics_11.1.1/$RANDOMFOLDERNAME$/war/res/b_mozilla/dashboards and bounce the services.
Voila - now when you edit the analysis through dashboard, it will take you to the criteria tab, instead of results tab.
Please award points, if it helps.

  • OBIEE 11g: Searching Subject Area for measure names in Answers

    Hello,
I have installed OBIEE 11g SampleApp 825 and just exploring the provided set of dashboards.
From the samples, I am performing following steps:
    - I selected Edit Dashboard (for 2.1 Simple Demo Dashboard)
    - For Column 2, in the Master Detail 1 Compound View, I did Edit Analysis
    - which took me into the Answers design interface with 4 tabs (Criteria, Results, Prompts, Adv).
In the Criteria tab, there is the Subject Area pane on the left where it shows the Subject Area this Answers report is built on and a bunch of Folders like Time, Products, Base Facts etc.
Beside the Subject Area pane, is the Selected Columns pane where you drop fields from the folders.
This particular analysis (Product Line Analysis) has three columns: Revenue Analysis, Products Hierarchy and T05 Per Name Year.
Now, I want to find the folder to which the Revenue Analysis measure belongs. So, I started expanding each node/folder in the Subject Area pane and visually searching for "Revenue Analysis"....cannot find it!
How to determine which Subject Area folder a field on the Analysis belongs to? In Oracle Discoverer, only the Folders from which fields are selected are "enabled" so it's easy to navigate straight to that folder. Or again, in Discoverer, you can actually search for a particular field name and it will return all folders that have that field name pattern. While the Search feature on the top row is useful in finding which Analysis/Report match a string, it does not help in identifying relevant Subject Area Folder fields that match a pattern.
Is something similar available in Answers/OBIEE 11g?
    Thanks,
    Manish
Edited by: mhathi on Oct 21, 2010 8:53 AM

Again answering part of my own question...It was staring me right in the eye and I couldn't see it:-)...When you have a column in the Selected Columns pane, it's source is right there above the field name. If there is no source folder listed, then it might mean it's a formula. For example in my case, the Products Hierarchy column has the word Product above it...that's the folder it belongs to.
Good. But, the follow-on question still remains, how to search for folders containing a particular string, to find say all folders that have columns like %Margin%?

  • Image Prompt in OBIEE 11g

    Hi,
I would like to know how to configure the image for image prompt option in obiee 11g.
    I done it in 10g.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Lakshmipathi.

    Hi,
Placing the image file in /l_en folder dint work for me too however you can place them inside the following paths and restart the services,
    1)
    \MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\_WL_user\analytics_11.1.1\silp1v\war\res\s_blafp\images
    2)
    \MW_HOME\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\app\res\s_blafp\images
You can then call your file with the url, http://hostname:port/analytics/res/imagefile.jpg
Its worked for me, let me know in case of any issues.

  • Need help -To Restrict Huge temp file, which grows around 3 GB in OBIEE 11g

    Hi Team,
I am working on OBIEE 11.1.1.5 version for a client specific BI application. we have an issue concerning massive space consumption in OBIEE 11g installed linux environment whenever trying to run some detail level drill down reports. While investigating, we found that whenever a user runs the drill down report a temp file named nQS_xxxx_x_xxxxxx.TMP is created and keep's growing in size under the below given folder structure,
    *<OBIEE_HOME>/instances/instance1/tmp/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obips1/obis_temp/*
The size of this temp file grows huge as much as around 3 GB and gets erased automatically when the drill down report output is displayed in UI. Hence when multiple users simultaneously try to access these sort of drill down reports the environment runs out of space.
    Regarding the drill down reports:
    * The drill down report has around 55 columns which is configured to display only 25 rows in the screen and allows the user to download the whole data as Excel output.
    * The complete rows being fetched in query ranges from 1000 to even above 100k rows. Based on the rows fetched, the temp file size keeps growing. ie., If the rows being fetched from the query is around 4000 a temp file of around 60 MB is created and gets erased when the report output is generated in screen (Similarly, for around 100k rows, the temp file size grows up to 3 GB before it gets deleted automatically).
    * The report output has only one table view along side Title & Filters view. (No Pivot table view, is being used to generate this report.)
    * The cache settings for BI Server & BI Presentation services cache are not configured or not enabled.
    My doubts or Questions:
    * Is there any way to control or configure this temp file generation in OBIEE 11g?
    * Why the growing temp file automatically gets deleted immediately after the report output generation in screen. Is there any default server specific settings governing this behaviour?
    * As per certain OBIEE article reference for OBIEE 10g, I learnt that for large pivot table based reports the temp file generation is quite normal because of huge in-memory calculations involved . However we have used only Table view in output but still creates huge temp files. Is this behaviour normal in OBIEE 11g. If not, Can any one Please suggest of any specific settings to be considered to avoid generating these huge files or atleast generate a compressed temp file.
    * Any other work around solution available for generating a report of this type without the generation of temp files in the environment?
Any help/suggestions/pointers or document reference on this regard will be much appreciated. Please advice
    Thanks & Regards,
    Guhan
    Edited by: 814788 on 11-Aug-2011 13:02

    Hello Guhan,
The temp files are used to prepare the final result set for OBI presentation server processing, so as long as long you dataset is big the tmp files will be also big and you can only avoid this by reducing your dataset by for example filtering your report.
You can also control the size of your temp files by reducing the usage of the BI server.I mean by this if you are using any functions like for example sorting that can be handled by your database so just push to the DB.
Once the report finished the BI server removes automatically the tmp files because it's not necessary anymore.you can see it as a file that is used for internal calculations once it's done the server gets rid of it.
    Hope this helps

  • Issues with integrating Java script functions in OBIEE 11G

    Hello experts..
I am trying to integrate some Javascript functions in my OBIEE 11G Dashboard..
I have modified the original common.js file and renamed it as insight_common.js in the following directory (backed up the original file of course)
    OBIEE 11G Folder/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/servers/bi_server1/tmp/_WL_user/analytics_11.1.1/7dezjl/war/res/b_mozilla/insight_common.js
In my dashboard, I have a dashboard object as text component where I have checked 'Contains HTML Markup'. I have written the following code:
    hello
    <script src="/res/b_mozilla/insight_common.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    sayHi();
    </script>
However, when I launch the dashboard, it is not working.
In the Google Chrome browser as I inspected the element to investigate the reason, I am getting the following error under 'console'
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://localhost/res/b_mozilla/insight_common.js
Uncaught ReferenceError: sayHi is not defined saw.dll:611
It seems that OBIEE is not recognizing the new file that I made..
Is there a way around this?
    Thanks

    Srini
I don't have backgrounds in coding, so a lot of what I wrote came from my own researching...
Now I have tried your latest suggestions again as the below:
    1.<script type="text/javascript" src="res/b_mozilla/insight_common.js">
    sayHi();
    </script>
    and
    2.
    <script type="text/javascript" src="res/test.js"></script> ----- in my case: <script type="text/javascript" src="res/b_mozilla/is_common,js"></script>
Now both codes this time do not yield any outputs when launching the dashboard. The section is blank and the preview of the Text section in the dashboard is blank as well..
So, are you sure these are all the steps I need to take to call javascript function in OBIEE?
Do I need to define anything in weblogic or other places?
I hope I am not missing any steps..
    Thanks and let me know..

  • Different calculation on each column in table in obiee 11g report??

    Hi ,
I have to display values in a table for measures in obiee 11g report which should hold different calculation on each column. For ex:
    Result 1:
    Flag  Display   Transaction  Amount
      C      'A'                 2              3
      C      'B'                 3               0
           SubTotal1            5             3
    Result 2:
    Flag  Display   Transaction  Amount
      H      'C'                 2              11
      H      'D'                  0              0
           SubTotal2          2             11
    Result 3:
    Flag  Display   Transaction  Amount
      H      'C'                 1              0
      H      'D'                  1            0
           SubTotal3          2            0
    Final Result:(Transaction shd hold :-subtotal1-subtal2 , Amount should hold:-subtotal1-subtal2+subtota3)
    Flag   Display               Transaction         Amount
    C    'total tran(1-2)              3                     8
           Total Amnt(1-2+3)'
Please help me how can i achieve this ... ??? I am new to OBIEE 11g.
    Thanks,
    Pavi

There are a few things I cannot understand; I'm assuming Transaction and Amount are fact columns. Then how do they have different values for the same values of Flag and Display ??
Anyway, sub total can be achieved by going to edit view for the table and from columns and measures area under the Layout pane click on the summation icon and select After.  This will automatically display a grand total value at the bottom of each fact column.
Now, to get the final result, say Total Transaction you can add a dummy column and edit its formula.
         Total Transaction = trans_subtotal1 - trans_subtotal2 and
         Total Amount = amt_subtotal1 - amt_subtotal2 + amt_subtotal3
Now if we could say that trans_subtotal1 is the total of transaction value when Flag = 'C' or something like that then you can get this value of subtotal1 by using the formula FILTER(SUM("Subject Area"."Folder".Transaction Column") USING (DESCRIPTOR_IDOF("Subject Area"."Folder"."Flag column") = 'C')).  Similarly we can obtain subtotal2 and subtract them to get the total transaction value.  But I am sure if we can do this because for the same values of Flag and Display, Transaction has different values.  But by using the above formula, the values we obtain for subtotals 2 and 3 will be the same.  So calculating Total Amount would be a problem.
The above formula is obtained by going to edit formula and selecting the filter option at the bottom of the edit dialog box.
Hope I made my point clear

    Manu,
    For Creating New Reports,
1.Got to -> New ->Analysis you will have your Presentation Tables under Select Subject Area
Click on your Subject Area -> you'll get list of tables under the Subject Area
    2. Expand the Folders and click the required column.
    3. Click on Result tab - > you'll get Title and Table View
