Folder synchronization problem

I have a huge catalog 400,000 + images but they are all jpegs on the average 2500pix on the long edge.  The problem is when I try to synchronize a particular folder which has 18,000 images with sub folders, it comes up with 300 images to sync but then its starts importing images that are not part of that folder about 1,200 of them. The images look like sample images from apps like Filemaker and photoshop most are small tiffs/png.  They don't exist in the folder I'm trying to synchronize.  Any idea how its linking to random files that are in my apps folder? I tried renaming and duplicating that folder to a different location on the HD but still happening.  I upgraded to LR CC, same problem

Please post a screen shot of the LR window with the folder you are selecting to sync.
Sounds like you have the Top Level DRIVE selected and not a folder.

  • Having email imap synchronization problems with outlook 365 proplus

    Hello,
    I have email imap synchronization problems with outlook 365 proplus.
    If I sent emails , my sent items box does not synchronized.
    This is really a bug, because I see more problems like this on internet.
    Please make ASAP a solution , this is not professional

    Hi JMR,
    Assuming you are referring to Outlook 2013 by "outlook 365 proplus". This is actually because Outlook 2013’s IMAP implementation has changed when compared to previous versions of Outlook.
    While configuring the IMAP account, Outlook will talk to the IMAP server for the correct folders first. If Outlook 2013 can’t find the correct folder for the Sent Items in your mail server, it will create a folder which doesn’t sync with the mail server.
    To sync the Sent Items folder with IMAP server, we can try to root the mailbox:
    Go to FILE->Account Settings->Account Settings…
    Double click on your IMAP account.
    Click More Options… button, then Advanced tab
    Type "Inbox" as the "Root folder path"
    Hope this helps.

  • 9.0.2 does NOT solve synchronization problems

    Since we have one title that says 9.0.1 solves the synchronization problem and one that says it does not, we truly have an issue, i.e., conflicting claims that need to be adjudicated.

    Ok starting to understand what you are describing. My only other suggestion is to do this:
    1. Quit iMoive, then go to the event in the Finder where you DV clips live.
    2. Delete ALL of the iMovie cache folders INCLUDING the one that is inside the Thumbnail folder.
    3. Relaunch iMovie and wait for everything to regenerate
    Try that, I've had success in the past using this method
    Thank you for your patience. Since I have quite a few such cache folders, unless I hear different from you, I will try this out on one carefully chosen event. By carefully chosen, I mean one in which there is a scene near the end of the long event that now clearly exhibits a lack of synchronization.
    (My tentative guess is that 9.0.2 solves the problems caused by 9.01, but not the lesser ones caused by 9.0. In the latter case, only people with very long events will notice a problem.)

  • Has anyone not working with .dv files had synchronization problems?

    Has anyone not working with .dv files had sound synchronization problems? I'm not exactly sure what the alternatives to DV are, but I think one of them is HD.
    The reason for asking this question is to help isolate the nature and cause of a very serious flaw in iMovie '11. In the original release of iMovie '11 (version 9.0) there was a small--but serious--synchronization problem. In the 9.01 there is a large synchronization problem. We know of one person who has not experienced the problem, and he is not working with DV files (media). So we want to find out if anyone who is using something other than .dv files is experiencing a lack of synchronization between sound and picture. Knowing the answer to this will help with figuring out where the cause lies. For the initial iMovie '11 release (9.0), you probably would not notice a problem unless you had very long event-clips, e.g., two hours long. Events get this long if you are transferring from analog 8 mm tapes. Even then, it would have to be in scenes in which the connection between event and sound is obvious, e.g., close ups of people talking. It isn't until the 9.01 release that most people would notice anything. All we need to do is establish one case of a synchronization problem in which the person is using something other than DV.

    Hopefully, the 9.0.2 release will make my question moot. Zyfert must have posted the announcement of the release just as I was formulating my question. Still, if you have information on the subject, it would be interesting to hear.

  • To those who have had synchronization problems: Did your files end in .dv?

    In order to determine whether the synchronization problems were restricted to people using DV files, it would be helpful if anyone who had a problem could say whether their files ended in .dv. So: if you had a problem, could you please say what sort of files (medium) you were using? DV? HD? Whatever else there is? Thank you.

    my clips were all pulled directly from my Canon FS20 camcorder. the file extensions of the raw footage is all ".mov" ... hope that helps. J
    Thanks. It does help--or at least it should help the people who know enough about the subject to digest its significance. I'm trying to help them. They said this would be useful to know. (I think you actually posted this information before, but it slipped by; so I am glad you provide it again.)

  • Applications Folder Permissions Problem

    I did a maverick clean install.
    Everything seemed fine but now a few days later...
    I am constantly told I have to authenticate
    and this morning if I try and take anything out of app folder
    I am told I don't have permission to do this.
    suggestions?
    can you be a little more specific.What are you doing when it asks to athenticate? For the Applications folder, that is normal, but... what are you moving and to where
    For ten years, because I deal with a lot of apps
    I have kept folders in my apps folder called:
    - Archive (When an app is never getting used but it's not time yet to get rid of it...
    the app goes in there.)
    - A/V Apps
    - Mind Map Apps
    - 3rd Party Utilities
    - Online Marketing Apps
    - Social Networking Apps
    However, since installing Mavericks...
    If I try and drop an app in any of these folders...
    I am not even asked to authenticate.
    I am just told I don't have permission to perform this task.
    When I get info on these folders...
    - Apps Folder: admin R/W
    - Archive: admin read only
    - A/V Apps: admin read only
    - Mind Map Apps: admin read only
    - 3rd Party Utilities: admin R/W
    - Online Marketing Apps: admin R/W
    - Social Networking Apps: admin read only
    1. I can't unlock the get info permissions window on any of these folders.
    2. If I try to drag an item from one admin R/W folder to another admin R/W folder...
    I am told I don't have permission to perform this task.
    3. If I drag an item from any of these folders into the Apps folder, no problem.
    At this moment, this problem seems isolated to the apps folder.
    I can drag and drop without problem everywhere else.
    Has the permissions structure of the Apps folder
    radically changed with Mavericks?

    Your ACLs have gone awry and need to repair your OS X installation. Use the Recovery Mode and reinstall OS X on top of your install and it should correct the errors.
    I too have nested folders in my Applications folder and the structure migrated over from Snow Leopard to Mavericks intact. See picture below.
    On a day to day basis I use my Mac as a standard user, which does not have permissions to modify the Apllications folder or its contents. However, when I install, move, trash or replace an App, Mavericks prompts me for an Admin user name and password.
    When I 'move' an App from one Application nested folder to another, it 'Copies' it after authentication; hence I have to delete the original (once again after authenticating with an Admin name and password).
    Now when I am logged into an Administrator account (which I rarely do), I can install, copy, move and delete Apps and folders at will without further authentication.
    The above behaviour works as expected. Below is a pic of the permissions of my Applications folder. All enclosed items inherit the same permissions.

  • A very strange synchronization problem

    Hi Everybody,
    I would like to get some help regarding a strange synchronization problem that I have found. I have created a java server application and after a lot of testing I have found the following problem:
    A certain thread (Thread-A) is stuck forever on a synchornized (objX) line, whereas another thread (Thread-B) every 30 seconds performs a section which is protected by the same synchornized (objX) line.
    It seems that the objX is not held by any thread, but Thread-A is stuck forever.
    The BUG is reproducible after the server runs about 1 day.
    The server is running on Linux machine (Red Hat 7.3) with JVM 1.4 (Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.1_01-b01)).
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Idan Zach

    This is not a starvation problem since Thread-B performs its job every 30 seconds. The job is very short (I have added log messages before Thread-B starts its job and after it completes the job).
    However, the priority of both threads are the same.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Idan Zach

  • Troubleshoot synchronization problems in Dreamweaver CS4

    I am now having problems linking files; ie PDFs on my site in Dreamweaver CS4
    I found this trouble shooting guide and followed both suggestions, but neither is working for me, any suggestions?
    Here is a link to the adobe site describing the problem:
    Thanks so much!  Issue  When you use Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and CS5 to synchronize files or upload files to a server, you experience one of the following issues:      * When you put files, Dreamweaver warns you that the remote file has changed on the server: "my_file.htm has changed on the remote server since your last get or put operation. Putting it may overwrite changes to the file. Do you wish to put the file anyway?" However, you are sure that the remote files haven't changed.     * The Synchronize preview dialog box does not correctly list the files that should be synchronized.     * The Synchronize preview dialog box says no synchronization is necessary, but you know some files have changed.  Note: Synchronization underwent major enhancements in Adobe Dreamweaver 8. The current version of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and CS5 uses similar technology.  Reason  When you put or get a file in Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 and CS5, Dreamweaver locally stores the remote and local date/time stamps in files called dwsync.xml, which are located in hidden _notes folders in the same folder as the files being transferred. Occasionally, the dwsync.xml files can become corrupted.

    Sorry I guess the link did not show but the paragraph describes it, I have cleared the cache, deleted the dwsync files and searched for all of them on my computer but I still can'y load a simple link....

  • Process synchronization problem

    I have a unique problem.
    - I have two seperate methods method1 and method2, which I am calling in the same order.
    - method1 produces a file using an exe.
    - method2 should use this file for further processing.
    Now, what is happening is, method2 executes before method1 is finished creating whole file. the code snippet is below:
    public static synchronized void method1(String imageName){
              try{
                            //create a file using myexe.exe
                   String strCmdLine =  "\"C:\\Program Files\\somefolder\\myexe.exe\" \"C:\\Program Files\\using this folder content\\create a file\\" \"C:\\Program Files\\somefolder\\myfile.file\"";
                   Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
                   Process proc = rt.exec(strCmdLine);
              }catch(Exception ex){
                   ex.printStackTrace();
         }and the method2 is :
    public static synchronized void method2(String myFileName, String createAnotherFileName){
              try{
                   Thread.sleep(5000);
                   Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
                   String strCmdLine = "\"myAnotherExe.exe\" " + "param1" + " \"" + myFileName + "\" " + "\"" + createAnotherFileName+ "\"";
                   System.out.println("strCmdLine : " + strCmdLine);
                   Process proc = rt.exec(strCmdLine);
              }catch(Exception ex){
                   ex.printStackTrace();
         }even with synchronization block, i am not able to control method1 to finish creating myFlie before method2 starts using myFile :(
    Can anyone help me?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    DD

    I tried using
    int exitVal = proc.waitFor();
    but it keeps waiting for ever, does not exit :(
    public static synchronized void method1(String imageName){
              try{
                            //create a file using myexe.exe
                   String strCmdLine =  "\"C:\\Program Files\\somefolder\\myexe.exe\" \"C:\\Program Files\\using this folder content\\create a file\\" \"C:\\Program Files\\somefolder\\myfile.file\"";
                   Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
                   Process proc = rt.exec(strCmdLine);
                            int exitVal = proc.waitFor();
              }catch(Exception ex){
                   ex.printStackTrace();

  • Slow folder synchronization on windows 8.1 LR4.4

    Hi there,
    I need a small feedback from you. I have LR4.4 installed on both Mac OS 10 (MacBook air) and Win8.1 and I see that mac version is able to access my photos on network storage (synology disk station) much faster than windows version. The difference in speed, for example for synchronizing the folder with 50000 photos took only 15 min to show the number of photos to be synchronized on Mac compared to half day on win8.1. Further, Mac version took only less than an hour to actually synchronize the folder compared to almost a day that win version took. Can you tell if this difference is natural due to OS differences or if there is any problem with the windows version of the LR or other network settings I have to check on windows. I access the sinology over wifi on both Mac and windows machines. Thanks a lot for your valuable time and help in this regard.

    Hi,
    Here is a similar thread on Group Policy forum:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/05b12275-c595-4c4a-877a-c6a9e8d5e086/windows-2012-r2windows-81-gpo-folder-redirection-woes?forum=winserverGP
    Several possible solutions are delivered including:
    1. Try to enable the following setting:
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\ Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon
    2. Run a RSOP to see the applied group policies and check if any conflict occurs which cause the issue.
    3. Test to recreate user profile (as the last reply mentioned) to see if issue still exists.

  • Video Synchronization Problems

    I am having a major problem with video synchronization. I
    have a single FLV that is used throughout the presentation. I have
    edited viewer.xml and inserted the correct start and stop times,
    and everything works perfectly when run from my local machine.
    However, when I publish to my webserver, everything breaks. The
    video file is reloaded on every slide, and it starts at the
    beginning for every one instead of starting at the proper time. Any
    ideas?

    Are you republishing to your webserver after you have made
    changes in viewer.xml ? If that is true then your xml would be
    created again which will not have these changes .
    Right method would be to use the published folder(or zipped
    folder ) with updated viewer.xml
