Folder with !! (i know this has been on here a million time, i'm DESPERATE)

Let's start off with this:
My old 4G 20GB clickwheel iPod broke (the click wheel) so I sent it in and got a "refurbished" one back, still 4G 20GB
Since the day I got the "new" it has been showing the folder with !! and support.apple.com. resetting it fixed it several times, but this time it's toast.
My computer is not reconginzing it anymore.
I have already:
1. Reset it.
2. Tried to restore it, but since my computer will not reconginze it, i cannot.
3. Put it in disk mode with no luck
4. Dropped it on the carpetted floor.
5. Taken iTunes on and off my computer, and reset it.
6. Read Apple.com's advice and tried to restore it with no luck.
I do have BestBuy care, which is the same thing as AppleCare only through bestbuy, but i really do not want to send it in . first of all, i JUST got this one about a week ago. and i was told 7-10 days i should have it back, but it ended up being 33 days..and let's just say i'm not a patient person.
is there ANYTHING else i can do?

Sorry, I know this has been covered, but it has a ton of things I can not use....or understand.
I am on a mac. I have some movie previews that are in a .mov format. I had uderstood I need to convert them into .mp4 format....I did this in Quicktime....and exprteded them a few different ways....but every time I go to play them they break up and get all pixialated!
I have a 16g card, and I am putting them in the Videos folder on the chip through usb reader.....what am I doing wrong?!

It was magical. I did something to my router, I'm not sure what, and iChat now connects to Windows machines with audio/video. I think the problem is very specific to what type of router you have.

So, I know this has been asked before, but I'm just looking to see if anyone had heard from Apple on this at all. The minimum volume on my iPod Classic 160gb is too high, and I can't lower it. (AKA when I kill the volume, I can still hear music).
I called them today, but the rep was pretty useless. He even dropped the "well, just press pause" line on me. Took him a while to understand that when I'm in bed or studying, etc. the minimum volume is too loud, and I wanted to be able to set it lower.
The best workaround I've found so far is to buy headphones with their own volume control, but I just can't help but feel that someone shouldn't have to by additonal gear after buying this thing on account of such a basic feature exclusion.

I've heard all of what you spit up before. And for your point of "Well, in several cases, people have complained (here in these discussion pages), that they expect the volume to be zero when turned to minimum position" that kind of ties in to why Apple should fix this.
And yeah....it's pretty much a given that "you and I have different interpretations of what constitues too loud" This is where the option to adjust the minimum volume comes in to play. (I relly feel bad for you. Honestly. Having to live everyday of your life this way must be just brutal)
The wording would be pretty simple too. " Be aware there are many instances of the minimum volume being too loud, so think twice before dropping a few hundred bucks on this"
And, you're right. It is horrible to 'whine' about being ripped off and asking if there is a possible fix for the issue. I really do apologize for that. I should just suck it up and not voice my opinion that this is not fair to consumers, and Apple shouldn't fix a known issue with a product.
I did reset & restore, I figured that was pretty much implied since I said I spoke to Support.
And I am not at all surprised that you would say "I - for one - am not surprised that Apple might say, "simply hit the pause button"." Again, I don't want it on muteReading your post made my eye twitch at least three times.

Just my thoughts to add to the excellent answers above.
• BRAND of DVD used - Matters when doing Video-DVDs
Memorex, NoName etc cheap brands usually do NOT work
I only Use Verbatim (more organic dye in these)
• Type of DVD - matters
- DVD+/RW - usually results in problems
- DL-DVDs are more problematic than SL-DVDs
- DVD+R are a more modern sort - BUT PLAYS BADLY or not at all on older DVD-players
I only use DVD-R
• BURN SPEED - matters
- Best in iDVD app - IS NOT BEST at all but results in lot's of Burn Errors = Doesn't play well or at all
I set this down to x2 or x4 max.

if you have no back up in icloud or itunes the best you can do is sync with your computer and get back what you can from there

Those dates are when a backup was automatically made by Firefox, not dates when you saved specific bookmarks. Try restoring the backup from the day before you deleted all those bookmarks. It will restore the entire backup file - not just what you deleted, you will lose any bookmarks that you saved after the date of the file you restore.

I know this has been posted a few times but, High Pitch noises!!!!!!!!!

I keep getting wierd high pitch noises from the MOBO, I have tried to push in the MSI plate on the NB but it didn't stop the noise. But what I have found out stops it is kind of wierd.
If I go into any Windows Explorer window and right click on certain icons, (i.e. C: Hard Drive, the nVidia Ethernet Adapter, or my DVD-RW) the noise stops suddenly, but if I click off of the right click menu the noise starts back up again. I don't get it? Also if I use my mouse wheel and scrol up and down rapidly, the sound stops while I am scrolling, but once I stop it comes back.
I know that this has been posted a few times, but I still haven't found any way to stop the noise other than the ways above. So if anyone has/had the same problem and knows how to fix it, I would really appreciate it if you would share.
EDIT: I have also tried to return my CPU to stock speeds but there is still a noise.

Im sure this noise, is the copper coils around the components near the cpu socket.. its a known problem on MSI boards, where they start to resernate / vibrate.
I've seen two solutions, neither have i tried, as I don't have the problem, but they are pretty harmless.
one is to apply a small amount of superglue over the copper coils, allow to set and switch back on,, or a safer way (in my opinion) is to use some wax (or electical sealing wax).

I know this has been discussed but the login error...

i know i know! many people have posted about this. i have been working with this error for quite a time now and i was happily waiting for apple to solve this. there is still no change and it is getting VERY annoying that apple is not doing something about it!
is there any plan that this error will be removed or will it stay forever?

Communication Error - Yes I know this has been made.

As stated previously, I know these have been made before, by a lot of people. I have yet to find an answer that works. I have tried setting up new locations like the youtube video. I have tried to open said ports, and I have tried turning on UpNP and all of the other tricks. I still cannot get video chat to work. I will do my best to provide all info that I can to get this to work.
Obviously, this is the dreaded Communication Error, "You did not recieve a response from [name here]"
Current Specs:
Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Using Mac OS X 10.5.3
Router is a D-Link DI-624M.
This is all updated with firmware and is current (v2.5). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Render Error: -50 I know this has been posted about a lot

Hey folks! I understand that this question has been posted many times to the community, and while it is not my intent to waste anyones time (Tom Wolsky), I have not found a solution that works. Can anyone help me? I will monitor this feed to respond back as soon as possible if you have any questions.
Here is my system:
OS 10.9.4
Late 2013 iMac 3.1 GHz I7
16gb ram
317 GB free space on 1TB hard drive
Final Cut version 10.1.2
Compressor Version 4.1.2
Here is what I have tried (all have failed with Render Error: -50)
Turn off Background Rendering, Delete Render Files, etc.
Copying media to new project, event, library, re-export
Tried Multiple Presets in both FCPX and Compressor
Turned off app nap on both FCPX and Compressor
I am at a loss here guys and gals. I have seen some posts explaining that it may be a corrupt clip that needs to be removed. Is exporting individual clips to find the culprit my best option?

Any manual-converted .mts clips involved in your Project?
You could use FCPX' feature to export just parts/ranges of a Project to narrow down the culprit (export a half, ok? export a half of the oither half, ok? export...)
