Wishing I could have written a better question.
MY PROBLEM:
I have folders on my desktop with multiple files as contents.
Is there an easy way to print up the names of files within any given folder without having to open the folder, note the names of the files on a text edit page, and print it off... There must be some way to do this..by just clicking on the folder?? or is there some way to program the computer to do this.?
I need to do this all the time!!

i did go to the Utilities folder and opened up the appleworks editor and copied and pasted everything you wrote above from the : colon onwards.. and got a message expected ","
..it did not work.
in other words, i copied and pasted
do shell script "ls " & quoted form of POSIX path of ( NAMED FOLDER) (114148)
My questions.. will this work every time I copy and paste the above instructions ..for any folder , anytime.( If I can get it to work)
And will it list the contents of the folder somewhere, where I can print out the list of folder contents?

PRINTING A FOLDER CONTENTS LIST?

I'm trying to print the contents list of a folder as we used to be able to do in system 9. I'm aware of dragging the folder onto my printer icon that I've placed in my menu bar. That works fine but only shows me the folders contained within the main folder. It will list the contents of any sub folders within the main folder even if I open these folders in the finder to reveal contents on the screen. Am I missing something or is doing a screengrab the only way to get a printed list of a folder's contents?

Or, drop the folder on TextWrangler (also freeware) and print from there.

External content list doing nothing

I am attempting to create an external content list in Sharepoint designer and when I click on it, it literally does nothing. No error code, nothing. Has anyone ran into this problem before?

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to make an external list form Azure SQL database in SharePoint Online.
Please make sure you create external list correctly.
In addition, you need to grant permissions to the people who will use the list.

PerformancePoint Designer is not loading when clicking on "Add new item" from PerformancePoint Content List

Hello,
I am using Internet Explorer 9 to create a new item by launching Performance Point Dashboard Designer from browser.
When i click on "Add new item", an Iframe will open showing dashboard design redirect which keep loading for couple of minutes and the designer never opens.
Yes, there are working workarounds like opening these links in other tab or opening dashboard designer directly or by clicking on "Run Dashboard Designer" from BI Center homepage.
However, Can someone please help me how to get designer opened when "Add new item" has been clicked from PerformancePoint Content List from browser?

An Update :
I found this is due to the browser limitation.
I have downgraded my Internet Explorer Browser to IE 8 and did the following changes in my browser settings.
Tools --> Internet Options --> Navigate to Security Tab --> Click on Custom Level Button --> Under Download --> Select "Enable" radio box for Automatic Prompting for File Downloads.
Sadly, I cannot ask users to downgrade their browser to IE 8 because MS already stopped support for this browser and there are no other solution for this except going by workarounds.
This clearly says why people are moving away from PerformancePoint Services in SharePoint.

Refresh content list in Front Row?

I'm using Front Row on a Mac Mini as a mediacenter for my LCD-TV. This Mac is only turned on as soon as I'm actually using it for listening to music, watching movies and video podcasts, etc.. When turned on it automatically starts Front Row and iTunes. Via iTunes I subscribed to various video podcasts which are downloaded as soon as a new episode is available.
The problem is that when new podcasts are available, iTunes actually starts downloading but they are not displayed in Front Row until I quit both Front Row and iTunes and restart Front Row. If I don't do this Front Row either says that there are no podcasts at all (even not the old ones) or it just doesn't display the new ones although they are finished downloading.
Is there a way to refresh the content list (eg for podcasts) in Front Row, either automatically or manual, without performing the sequence above? Or is it possible to make Front Row download the new episodes of the subscribed podcasts by itself without using iTunes?

first question:
are your movies in itunes also, thus appearing in front row with all the proper meta data? If so, you'll have to delete them from itunes also. Deleting just the movie from the HDD isn't enough

Content list of external drive

Anyone know how to print a content list of an external drive. I could use Grab and capture the first level of items but I wanted to see all subfolders and files.

Open the Terminal in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and paste in:
ls -R
Type a space and drag the drive into the open Terminal window. Press Enter and copy the list from the Terminal. Use -AR instead of -R to include invisible items.

Limiting content-list height of choicebox

I want to limit the list-height of the choicebox for example to select an year from the choice box the list-height goes beyond the screen so how to limit the content-list height of the choice box??

Narayan I think that ListView does not need ScrollPane, in 1.3 there were ScrollBars in ListView i did not need to wrap it into ScrollPane. Not 100% sure how it is in 2.0

Thank you for posting the screen shots I have been unsuccessful in determining exactly where the problem is coming from. Would it be possible for you to post the actual VI so that I can work with it so see if I can reproduce this issue using your code? In regard to your questions:
1.    You are correct 1000 samples read should write 1000 samples to the table
2.    I believe the discrepancy is due to amount of manipulation done between the read and the file write but I cannot be certain, without the code to work with.
3.    I am unclear as to exactly what is happening. If you are reading empty channels then you may receive erroneous readings this is to be expected. When you connected your accelerometer did you connect in RSE or differential? You can also manipulate the signal range with will affect the gain setting, how off are the readings?

Which of these folders contents can I delete

I want to free up some space on the hard drive, and I know this is where all the memory is being taken up at. Which folders contents can I delete, that will not effect playback and exporting of my sequence in a project?

within these folders you should find that you have subfolders for each of your current projects
if you find that there are folders for projects which are already completed, signed off, mastered to tape and/or achived, then you can safely delete those particular projects subfolder
warning: be careful that you are not deleting content from one old project which you are actually reusing in a new and current project

Content List Portlet

I created a Content list Portlet which lists the content pages in order.
Is there a way to customize the "look" of the content list portlet in a customized JSP portlet. We really need some control on the look of the page to adhere to our branding design. Thanks.

Additional content list disappeared

I have used Logic 10.0.7 recently.
At that time, additional content packages are well listed.
After updating to 10.1.0, i checked new sound.
But total content list including already installed items was disappeared.
Anyone can help me?

A fair and just question, dkire. However, it is pointless asking that here. None of us know.
We are the quality control of Apple software. We run multiple machines with various setups so that we can continue working . None of the regulars here update their working setup for very long periods of time and through many released versions, quite a few of us are on 10.6.8 with Logic 9.1.x because it is stable and efficient.
Apple does not know we do this because Apple does not care that we, or anyone does this. Do you really think they care if you, or anyone, updates immediately and you cannot use your hardware because it is no longer compatible? Of course they don't, why would they.
I find it personally irksome that I would have to (have to) choose US English as a System language and every time there is a major update we brace ourselves for the many many "I'm in the middle of the most important album on the planet and the update has broken everything". This is followed by someone saying "Revert to your backup and finish your record…". Which is usually then followed by "I haven't got a backup…". And on it goes.

Folders/Content areas? I am able to add text, urls, Application Components etc but not portlets.

Script to Compare File Contents in Two Folders and List Differences?

I've looked through the Forum but can't find anything that seems quite to address my problem--and I'm really new to AppleScript, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I burn a great many files of varying kinds (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PDF, etc.) to DVD everyday as part of my job. It happens not infrequently, though, that files drop out in the process and don't make it to the disk, with the result that I get calls from Manufacturing saying that I've screwed up and that random files X, Y, and Z are not on the disk that I sent.
I've tried various ways to failproof my burning routine, but utlimately, it seems like something still slips through sometimes--that is, the files are definitely in by Source Folder, but sometimes they don't leap the chasm to the disk. And since there can be several hundred files, it can be difficult to know at a glance if something is wrong.
It would be extremely helpful if there were a script that I could run to compare the contents of the folder source on my desktop (just say its called "Source Folder") with the contents of a disk I have just burned (whose name might vary, but whose folder structure is a duplicate of the subfolders in "Source Folder" that I have burned to disk. All I need the script to tell me is if there are files in my desktop Source Folder than are not on the burned disk).
Is this possible? I'd appreciate any help anyone could offer--right now, I'm printing up the disk directory and a list of the files from my desktop Source Folder and comparing them line for line, and my soul is dying.

This can be pretty easily hacked together using a combination of AppleScript and shell scripting.
There's a shell command diff that can tell if two directories are the same or not. You can use AppleScript to put a nice front-end on it, like:

It's quick and dirty, but should get you started. It runs the diff command which triggers the 'on error' code if there are any differences. The script then reports the differences and exits. If there are no differences the 'on error' code is skipped and you get the all clear message.

Sub folders content are not getting displayed using KM Navigation iView.

I created CM repository and did all settings.i could able to see the folder and subfolder contents under Content administration>KMContent>root-->KMPublications(my own folder).
-->using Administrator user i could able to see all folders/subfolders correctly and could able to edit.
-->now i created KMNavigation iview and created new role called "KMRole".then i assigned iview to page,then page to Role .this "KMRole" is assigned to user called "prasad".
>for folder "KMPublications" ,using context menu Details>settings-->permissions ,i added "KMRole" for "Read" only.
-->when i logon to portal with user "prasad" ,it is showing all root directory content and subfolders.when i click on subfolder called "foods",it is showing me exception.this problem is not coming if i logon as "Administrator".can anybody helpme out.
Note:if i chnage the Path to display value to subfolder ,it is only displaying subfolders content only.if i click on its subdirectory ,it is giving null pointer exception.

Maybe there is approval set up on this folder. Order time based publishing. Both can cause the read users to see nothing.
The first means that read users can only see published documents. If no document is published the result is a empty folder.
Same for the second feature. If timebased publishing it can be that all documents are hidden for the read users because the documents are out of there time interval.
Hope this helps. Check both in folder > details > settings.
