Folders don't show up in Soundtrack browser
They're actually the project folders from the training manual. The sound files all show up in the Soundtrack browser, but there are project files that are on my hard drive, and show up in my Mac finder, but not in Soundtrack. It's not a big deal, since I can access these through the Mac finder, but it's weird that they don't show up in the program.
Are you talking about a regular finder window, or after you have used Cmd-F or Find in the File menu?
From what you describe, it sounds like you are editing a saved search, and not just "finding" normally.
When you select Find, you should see something like this:
Spotlight is the indexing and search technology that Apple uses to find things. You can do a "Spotlight Search" by typing a string into the Spotlight search field in the menu bar.
Whether you use the Finder, or Spotlight in the menu bar, Spotlight is used to do the search.

Why the mail smart folders don't show the email?
Suddenly (as it looks to me) any smart folders of Mail show their email; someone does have anything to suggest?
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and use the minus sign "-" at the bottom to remove any and all accounts that you don't want in Mail.

Folders don't show up in Finder Searches
Hi
I have Mac Book Pro OS 10.8.2.
When I search through finder, folders do not show up, unless I manually go to search options and select- Kind- "Any".
Say for instance I'm search for a folder named "walden". If It type "walden" into the finder, files named "walden" will show up but not the folder itself.
In my old finder, it was easy. You had 2 choices- "contents" and "file name".
Why won't my folders show up?
Thanks

After update, some files and folders don't show in icon view
I had an issue where some existing folders did not show their content in icon view after updating to Mavericks from 10.8 (ie 0 items in icon view, 30 items in list view)
I solved it by going to the "view options" for the folder, and changing the "arrange by" settings from "blank" to any thing else. The update did not transfer the arrange by options correctly.Hi there and welcome to the WD community.
Try to do a system restore on the unit to see if this maked the web file viewer since this should be available on any users dashboard. This link Might help you with the procedure on the unit hope it helps: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10433 -
Jam pack folders no longer show up in Loop browser?
Hello everyone,
I had to move my apple loops from my system drive onto an external drive (needed the room on my system drive). To do this I deleted the logs for the loops, moved the loops folder to my external drive, and drug the folder back into the Loop browser. All the loops show up fine, but I lost the nice organizational folders in the loop browser that allowed me to search only a specific jam pack.
How do I get these folders back? I tried searching the forums for an answer but came up empty, so I apologize if this has already ben covered. Thanks in advance for your help!Looks like I spoke to soon. Turns out you cannot re-install the apple loops for the Jam Packs on a separate HD (you can for the soundtrack pro stuff, but not the jam packs for some reason). So I'm still at the point where I can manually drag the loops to my external HD, drag them back into the loop browser and they seemingly index just fine, but the sub-folders are still missing! Any ideas?
Is it possible to add custom folders to the loops browser pulldown for organizing your custom loops? -
Photos don't show up in media browser when I want to insert a photo into Word
I'm fully updated in Yosemite (10.10.3) on an iMac (recently purchased). Photos updated just the other day and I chose iCloud for storage. When I try to insert a photo into my Word document no photos show up in the media sidebar "photos" nor in the media browser on Word. My photolibrary is visible under "Pictures" in the sidebar, but it is grayed out. How can I link the sidebar "Media =>Photos" or un-gray it on the pictures?
Sounds like more of a question for the Mail experts. Once the file is added to the Mail message it's not really anything to do with iPhoto.
Regards

I can create folders, but when I try to bookmark a page those folders don't show.
I have created a folder in my bookmark tab, and moved bookmarks into it. When I bookmark a site that I want to have in that folder, I have to create it, then manually move it into the folder since none of my "custom" folders appear when I create the bookmark.
Ok, I made a new profile (successful since I had none of my bookmarks etc). I clicked on Bookmarks and then right clicked to make a new folder (Test). Then I went to bookmark the open page and the folder named Test was not there. So I chose the option for New Folder and created Test 2. I then placed the bookmark in that folder. When I then open Bookmarks from the toolbar Test was there but not Test 2. When I click Bookmark This Page, I can see Test 2 as an option below Choose...
I hope that makes sense. -

Do you have rolls activated in the View menu? Can you see the photos in the Last Rolls section of the Source pane?
Those blank windows are indication that iPhoto has lost it's link to the files. In your case both the thumbnails and originals. If the originals can't be located then the rebuild cannot create a new thumbnail. So it looks like you'll have to start with a fresh library and import the original file from your current library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the rolls from the original.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same rolls as the original library. However dates on the rolls may be different but can be edited as you would the roll title.
Once this is completed you can delete the Originals folder from the desktop and the iPhoto Llibrary folder. If desired, you can keep the older library folder to try other fixes on it.
There's one way to get rid of the auto-rotated modified files. Copy the Modified version of it to the Desktop. Then open the Originals folder and locate the same files in that folder's subfolders and replace with the rotated modified version. Now go back to iPhoto and do a revert to original for those files. iPHoto will delete the modified version leaving you with the "modified original" version. -
Some songs don't show up on iPod, but they are there
I have an 80GB iPod classic. I have all my songs in iTunes, and I have manually synced them to my iPod. When I view my iPod through iTunes, I can see all the songs and play them. However, when I look on my iPod directly, some songs don't show up when I browse by Artist, Song, etc.
The only way to play them on my iPod is to add them to a Playlist, and then they are accessible. However, if I want to listen to Eminem, for instance, I want to just browse to it in the Artist area.
The songs do have all of the appropriate info, and I have tried Restore and still nothing. These songs used to show up on my old, original iPod, so I am for a complete loss. Please help! This isn't foolproof but there are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song has no album name associated with it or 2) the song is marked as part of a compilation.
If tracks are missing an Album name (as mentioned above) in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances but the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous in place of a title. See this link for more detail: I don't see some of my songs when browsing by artist on my iPod
Also if the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder which may be why this happens. -
I've lost songs. They don't show up in a search, they don't show up when I scroll through all my songs, and they don't show up in the browser, but when I try to import them from the original CDs, iTunes asks me if I want to replace the files. And they're in my iTunes file directory (I keep it organized). So, they're where they're supposed to be. I've tried to add them to the library, and they remain invisible. It's the oddest thing.
Does anyone else have experience with this? What would you suggest?
Thanks,
BrianThis might be a quick and dirty method.
We're trying to force iTunes to rebuild properly.
With iTunes not running. Make a copy of the library database file (iTunes Library).
Try deleting the iTunes Library file. Start iTunes. Does this then show the missing tracks? To get the original playlists back you can import from the original xml file that you saved.
If you need to get back to the start point just delete the newly created database and .xml files and go back to the originals.

Server Side Includes Don't Show Up?
I support a web site and I've been maintaining it with DW (previous to CS3 and now I'm using CS3) and except for the home page, whenever I test a page locally on my PC, the content of the includes don't show up in the browser. Once I upload them to the web site, they work fine. I should point out that the home page is the only page in the root directory. All the other pages are in a next level folder. At the time I designed the web site, I thought this would help me organize things, but I regret doing it. This has happened with the previous version and with CS3.
Anyway, it's what I'm stuck with. I've set up my local site without server access. Given my situation, is there anyway to get the includes to work on my PC when I test the pages within DW?To summarize: I press F12 to start a browsing session and that page is displayed properly with server side includes. While in that browsing session, I click on a link to another page, and that second page in the browsing session does not disply the server side includes. When these pages are uploaded to the server, they work properly
If you open one of the inner pages, and hit F12 can you see the includes on that page,, or on any of the other inner pages when you browse to them individually? I bet you can :-)
It's only when you try and go from the temp file to a properly name file that it doesn't work. There was a technote explaining this much better than Ican, but I just can't find it now.
If you want to see the pages work as if they were on the server, that is going from page to page by clicking on individual links, you really need to set up a testing server on your machine.

1. The JRE crashed after startup. Many times, but not always, if such a crash occurs it will leave a JRE dump file on the desktop. Its content may help to identify the cause.
2. The Forms runtime crashed at startup. Many times, but not always, a Forms dump file will be created on the server. Its content may help to identify the cause.
3. The Forms runtime was unable to start at all. This can occur on unix systems when/if there is a resource or permissions issue. One of the more common causes is if the file descriptor (nofiles) value is set too low.
4. The applet is actually running, but has attempted to display a dialog box and is awaiting your acknowledgement, but the box was wrongfully sent to the background behind the browser. A similar issue was reported in one of the JRE 1.6.0_xx series, however I don't recall which one. Uninstall your current version and install the latest which is 1.6.0_27
There are other possibilities, but these are most common.
I would recommend the following:
1. Uninstall any JRE older than 1.6.0_27. Reboot. Install 1.6.0_27
2. Set networkRetries=5 in formsweb.cfg
3. Set FORMS_TIMEOUT to 15 (default). Setting to a high value as you have is not recommended and is rarely necessary.
4. Verify that the test form works. For example:
http://machine:port/forms/frmservlet?form=test
5. It appears that you are trying to use WU_TEST_106.fmx. Instead, download an updated version of this file (the name has also changed)
http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/196249.zip
6. Ensure that you have compiled webutil.pll into .plx. Do not use an old version of this file. The installation will include one. If not, check for it in an installation that also includes the Builders. -
How do set up your hotmail account on a mac book pro properly? I have it set up so I get mail but on my hotmail account I have lot of separate folders to save messages in(for example :- bank, skyp, work, Facebook, apple, ect...). They don't show up on my mac. I also have an iPhone and iPad, there is no issue here when I set those up. I automatically got my separate folders. Anybody have any idea or encountered the same problem?

Cheers,
I'm not gonna lie, I actually have no idea if its pop or imap. Do you know where you can check and if it can be changed?
Hotmail on a Mac is POP3 only, you will only get the basic folders (inbox, sent, trash etc) and it will not sync with other devices.
And now I post this I see other replies, so this is redundant. !! -
Multisession data DVD burned on windows don't show the folders on Mac.
Hi,
I think that is a well discussed thread but I weren't able to find anything at this concern on google and this forum.
I've burned a multisession data DVD on Nero (windows XP). That DVD already have files burned and is multisession. After burn it, the folder that I'd copied on PC don't show up on Mac. Is there a way to burn that files on windows that can be recognised on a Mac? Is this a question of burn format? The parameters of copy on Nero was keep as default.
Thanks in advance. It seems like Mac OS X doesn't support multisession-burnt DVDs, no matter how you put them together. In the best case, you'll only be able to see the first session. Finalizing DVDs has no impact on Mac OS X ability to read them completely.
I learnt it the hard way when switching from Ubuntu to Mac OS X, while on the first, Nero-burnt DVDs would read flawlessly, finalized or not. I ended up being forced to burn back around 120 DVDs in one session in Nero.
So far, Apple doesn't seem to have any plan in supporting multisession DVD burning and reading in OS X. As they have a tendancy to ditch obsolete technology sooner than others, I wouldn't hold my breath on it. On a personal level, this lack of support has made my hard drive space needs skyrocket, as I'm no longer able to incrementally burn DVDs, as I always did in Windows and Ubuntu.
Hope that helps.
