Folio Builder login fail

Hi,
I've a trial version of InDesign CS5.5 with Digital Publishing tools instaled but i can't login in the folio Builder Panel. I used the same ID in both Adobe.com and Folio Builder Panel.
How can I resolve that problem?
Thanks!

There is a dedicated DPS forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/dps
Please make sure you have the most current version of the folio builder installed and if so post full details of any error messages in the DPS forum. Not in the InDesign forum.

  • DPS App Builder Login Fail when start in Folio Builder

After using Adobe Viewer to preview and check everything is OK in my folio, I clicked on "Create App" in Folio Builder.  DPS App Builder then returns with "Sign in failed, please try again".  If I start DPS App Builder individually, I can sign-in with my CC account without any problem.  What is the problem?  I used them on my machine to try to build apps and it actually worked before.

    Bob
Yeah, I am a full CC and active subscriber. The install of App Builder was fresh, just did the update. I'll throw some new twists into the mix here, and I think it at least begins to narrow the landscape of the issue, but only to the degree that I think it isolated.
This problem issue, and a similar issue on another Mac where there is a sign in failure in App Builder, are all on managed computers, ones that my employer controls the admin [Univeristy]. On students' personal Macs, and my personal Mac at home, all is just fine, in fact just built a test app a few minutes ago. To me at least, this seems to be an issue of the App Builder not playing well in these kinds of user situations, namely when the user logged in has no admin control over the computer itself, only managed use of an account.
I will be consulting with my IT support, but honestly I think I am the one out in front on the DPS here and they may not be able to help at all. Which is bad since this course has a requirement that the students build their DPS app, test it and submit to the app store, but not all have Macs to use of thier own. I will also submit a question to Adobe regarding this.
Thanks for your help. I'll post the outcome.

  • Folio Builder login problems

I am having problems logging in to Folio Builder via InDesign (5.5) using my Adobe ID. I know it works because I am logged in with it now! I can access my folios in Content Viewer on my iPad using the same login details, but I obviously can't update folios without getting in to ID.
I have tried logging in via Acrobat.com and agreeing to terms and conditions, and I have tried restarting a couple of times. Still nothing! Has anyone experienced anything similar, and does anyone know of a solution?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Folio builder login issues

I am having trouble logging in to Folio Builder, as are three of my colleagues. We get the following error:
    Sign In has failed.
    Network failure.
Anyone else experiencing this problem? Is the network down?

Hi, we currently have a system outage whereby signing in is affected.
Our Engineering team is working on this and will update the status page ASAP.

  • Folio Builder Login click and nothting happens

Clicking on the login in the Folio-Builder used to launch a login-mask. Right now I've a completely new setup, new Macbook Pro, with a CS6-Installation, never ran the folio builder so far, updated the DPS-tools just today ... and now with a click on the menu item »log in« there is nothing happening at all. Nothing means nothing. No login mask, no failure prompt, no sandclock, no nothing. Even little snitch reports no activity. (Yes, I also gave it a try with a completely disabled little snitch.)
    Anyone an idea about this?

    Check them Basically
    1. Adobe Air & Flash Player
    2. Internet (Of course )
    3. DPS tool and CS 6 version match
    4. close indesign-> go to https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/welcome.html ->and log in->open indesign  and try again

  • Passwort-Limitation in InDesign Folio Builder

    Hi,
I have created a DPS user that has a 13 Digit password (was is allowed to create when setting up the account). I have already created a Viewer-App and submittet it to the iTunes store that uses that account. The Viewer-App is already in Review and will also show and sell first folios within the next hours.
The Problem is: if I want to login with that user via CS6 Folio Builder, I am limited to 6-12 chars by the desktop software.
    What I did:
    - changed the password
    - did all InDesign work
    - changed it back to make the app work
    => success!
But for further actions, how can i overcome this in a reasonable way?
    NO-Options:
    - change the App with new password and wait another 7 days to get a review
    Bad-Options i already figured out:
    - Create Folios online using the correct user, others via InDesign and then Crosslink Articles into the folios
    - wait the App to be Ready and selling, send a new app with new password, change password short before review and approval, as soon as approved works, meanwhile: no downloads
Well, let's say it this way: why the hell is InDesign Folio Builder limiting me? Is there a workaround on that level?
    cheers

To complete this thread for all maybe experiencing a similar problem:
I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing. If I create the Viewer-App using DPS Viewer Builder, already on the first screen I am asked to enter
    - a Titel-ID and a Password. The Help says: This password is used to login when folios for this app are published (I do not know the exact enhlish text as I have a german version)
For me, this seems very much as the Viewer App when DOWNLOADING folios signs into the Folio Distribution server @Adobe and gets the content.
    My evidence:
    - Viewer App showed In-App purchases, I could purchase
    - but when starting the download, it was hanging forever. After changing the passwort, I could download the purchase
If course, already downloaded content stays available.
My biggest problem is the itunes Review timespan. I dare not to change anything in the app because that might reschedule another 7 days waiting. Just for "trying out" experiments, that is a hard decision to take.
So, i thought i can solve the problem like this:
    - keep the (logical) Folio/App Account (with 13 digits) that owns the folio as it is and use another creative account (personal) to edit the folio.
    - after giving access to tha personal account, that person can see the folios in InDesign Folio Builder
    - BUT: even it is the SAME COMPUTER the Folio Builder says, that there is no InDesign Files for the folio. HELL!
I think is this was bootstrapped the wrong way, it is hard to navigate out again. Here's what we did:
    - created a technical account, lets say "magazine@....."
    - used that account to creare the Folio and Inesign files, did all editing with it
Because of the password problem, the idea is now, to use john@..... as the creative designer. How can John get access to the folios for editing (SAME COMPUTER)
Nevertheless: Adobe, please remove the 12 digits limitation in Folio Builder Login Screen if there is no hard need for it
    cheers

  • Sign in Failed - Folio Builder!

    Hi,
I have trying to help my client to use Folio Builder to create Folios and publish them onto iPad.
He created login on acrobat.com and all works fine online.
But when he tries to login into folio builder in InDesign with same login information, he gets 'Signin Failed...Please try again' message.
I tried my login (which work on my machine) and it failed as well. We try all latest updates still no luck.
It looks like high security firewall/proxy settings though we tried disabling local firewall but no luck.
Can anyone tell me the port number Adobe uses to login from Folio builder so that we can open it in Domain level firewall?
    Much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
Could you provide me with some more information to help us narrow down the problem for you?
    - What build of the Folio Builder panel do you have installed?
When you open the panel, at the bottom there is some grey text that is the version. The latest version is 3.3.0.20110622_m_659505. This panel comes with version 1.1.1 of the Folio Producer tools.
    - Have you installed all the Adobe updates?
Under the Help menu of InDesign, there is an "Updates..." menu item. Run this and see if everything has been updated for InDesign
    - Are you able to sign into other extensions?
Open the CS Review panel (Window > Extensions > CS Review) and see if you are able to log in to that panel. When you are signed in, the CS Live menu in the upper right of InDesign will change icons and have have a filled in blue circle.
    Thanks,
    S

  • Hardware Failure - Cannot login to Folio Builder

I was having problems with DPS App Builder - that problem was mysteriously solved.
Yesterday I had a catastrophic hardware failure when my MacBook Pro's screen died. I had to move my harddrive to a new MacBook Pro.
After moving my harddrive, I could no longer login to the Folio Builder Panel in Indesign CS6 (CC subscription). I decided to
deactivate, uninstall InDesign and reinstall, removing preferences, and ensuring that all updates had been applied. I have
done that I am still getting the message:
Sign In has failed. Network failure. Then after I hit OK, I get: Sign Out has failed. Network failure.
I can login to the Digital Publishing Suite Dashboard and the Digital Publishing Folio Producer, but I cannot
login to the Folio Buidler Panel. DPS App Builder continues to work without a problem.
It seems as if these tools are TOO TOUCHY which leads to a lot of wasted time.
    What's going on?

    Try This:
Quit InDesign and any other CS apps.
Use the Activity Monitor to quit the CS5ServiceManager or CS5.5Service Manager.
Next delete this file based on version: (Back up the file just in case.)
    Note:
    For example:
    /Users/"your user name"/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager/preference/csxs2.pref
    /Users/"your user name"/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS5.5ServiceManager/preference/csxs2.pref
Then remove this item from the Keychain Access based on version: Adobe CS5 renga or Adobe CS5.5 renga.
To remove from the keychain, navigate to: /Applications/Utilities and launch the Keychain Access.app
If the lock icon in the upper left appears locked, click it and enter your password to unlock it.
Select the “login” item in the Keychains list in the upper left.
Select “Passwords” from the category list.
Type “renga” in the search field in the upper right.
Lastly, select any matches and press the Delete key.

  • Folio Builder - cannot login after changing password

    Hi all,
I changed my password at acrobat.com, now I cannot login with the new password from the Folio Builder panel in InDesign CS5.5. I'm on Mac OSX 10.6.8. Basically, the panel shows "Signing in..." and the endlessly spinning wheel, which means it's hanging and doesn't let me re-enter my login credentials.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Folio Builder and Overlay Creator tools, and am running the latest versions of each.I've also tried trashing the INDD preferences. No luck. I'd like to avoid uninstalling/reinstalling InDesign CS5.5, but if that's the only solution, I'll do it.
I did create a new user on my machine and that worked — I was able to login successfully with my new login credentials. But moving my production files and recreating all my settings from my account to this new one would take a while, so I wanted to see if there was another solution.
Thanks in advance for any help!
    Jason

    Hi John,
Yes, I can login successfully there. The problem also appears to be with the CS Review and Access CS Live panels in InDesign.
When I initially open the Folio Builder, I get the error dialog "Sign In had failed. [svr.InvalidLogin]". The CS Review and Access CS Live panels also report an internal error.
This happens in both InDesign CS5 and CS5.5 (both installed on the same computer). Could the CS5.5 and CS5 panels be sharing that info? I haven't uninstalled/reinstalled the panels from CS5, just from CS5.5, which might explain the error, if I need to also uninstall the CS5 panels/extensions.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Folio builder panel problem on login

Updated my folio builder panel and now when I login it tells me I have to update eventhough I just did. Am I the only one with this problem? T.

Hi John!  You mentioned that it will be down the evening of March 12th, do you have any idea what time? We'd like to keep working and uploading content, but want to make sure that we don't screw anything up. Thanks!

  • Folio builder no login

today I open my indesign cs6 to work on an old folio I build, but i cannot login in the folio builder.
The message is that there is no internet connection: but i do have an internet connection, I even can open the folio producer from out of indesign.
The message is that there is something with my computer clock?????????????
Also the CC desktop wanted to be updated, so i did and now the updater disappeared all together.
I really regret going into the cloud. i think I buy cs6 and stick with that for the rest of my live.
Since i am in the cloud, my software does weird things...some parts of software do not work at all etc...I want my box back!
    regards, Anne

This sounds like it might be related to a change from daylight savings time in the US. I would call customer service and see if they know what's going on.

  • I can not login into the Folio Builder, I introduce my user and password and keeps logging in...

I've introduced my user and password, the Folio Builder tries to login but gets stuck logging in with the wheel spinning.
I've tried to uninstall and install Indesign CS6 again several times but nothing different happened...
    Could you help me please?
    Thanks.

DPS is no longer supported for CS5 and CS5.5. You need CS 6 or CC.
