Folio order in a multi folios application

I've 8 folios ready to be published in my multi-folio app. But when I published them, they appear in a random order instead of in the publication time order. How can I fix this ?

Yes, exactly - local currency will be implied as GBP. Planning stores the relevant information in the dimension HSP_Rates - the data in HSP_InputValue, the Currency information in HSP_InputCurrency. If you dont enter currency information in a data form then HSP_InputCurrency is #missing and Planning/the currency conversion script will use (in your example) GBP.
One important point - and besides the answer to your second question: You are only able to enter data for the Currency member "Local". All "reporting currencies" are read-only. If you would like to enter data in USD for the entity with GBP as "base currency" you have to select "Local" in the page and enter 100 USD in the relevant cells --> and then the "100" will be stored in HSP_InputValue and the currency ID for USD (you can find it out in the planning repository or in the generated currency conversion script), for example "22145" in HSP_InputCurrency.
Kind regards

Thanks a lot!! i put the same ID and generate another user on my account, a new email account for the title ID and it works! regards!

  • Folio not loading in Multi-Folio App

I've created a Folio and published it in Folio Producer but the Folio is not loading into the App. I've signed in with the same e-mail address and  yet nothing loads on the iPad. How can I get this to load onto the iPad.

When you say the app is not being pulled down from the adobe server, do you mean the app or the folio?
When you build your multi-folio app, are you creating and downloading the development .ipa file using App Builder, loading it into iTunes, and adding it to your device? I assume so, but I just wanted to make sure.

  • Second folio not appearing in multi folio DPS app – help?

I'm publishing a second folio in a multi folio DPS app. I have used a new Adobe ID to create the folio. I have published it no digitalpublishing.arcobat.com using PUBIC and FREE.
This is where I've run into problems, I think. I have tried using a new PRODUCT ID as well as the one from the first folio but neither appeared to have worked.
    QUESTIONS:
    1. What PRODUCT ID do I use?
    2. How long does it take for the new folio to appear on devices?
    3. Does anything have to be submitted to APPLE this time?
    Thanks in advance!

The term "Product ID" can be confusing because a Product ID can refer to the app itself or to a "product" within the app such as a folio or subscription. In this case, when you publish a folio, the Product ID refers to a product within the app, so you need to distinguish it from other products (folios). That's a long way of telling you to use a different Product ID for each new issue you publish. If you specify the same Product ID for different folios, the viewer will treat them as renditions, and display only one of them. We recommend using the "com.publisher.app.issue" format, such as "com.sportspub.climbingtoday.201406" for the June issue.
If you publish the second folio as Free and Public using a different Product ID, it should appear right away in your app. (For retail issues, it can take longer for Apple to process the in-app purchase.)

  • Multi Folio App for Educative Institution

    Hello,
We are an educative institution and have an internal magazine which we view in iPad with Adobe Content Viewer.
Now we want to publish to App store and we already have the Apple Dev Account, and all Certificates and Assets ready too.
My question is: ¿What is the simplest, and, well, cheapest way to publish our multi folio app?
I see that with a Creative Cloud Account you get the DPS but only single edition. Do we have to purchase the DPS Pro Edition in order to publish Multi Folio App or is there another way?
We also have the CS5.5 license for education. Are there any special offers for Educative Intitutions?
    Thank you so much
    Eduardo Flores

You can purchase DPS Professional Account either Monthly or Annual to create Multi Issue Apps. I do not think that there are any offers for DPS Pro edition.

  • Migrate a Single Edition over to a Multi-folio with subscriptions?

    We have a Pro account.
We want to produce a free Single Edition app and then migrate this over to a retail multi-folio with subscriptions later on. Can this be done?
Basically, we are not ready to offer multi-folio with subscriptions today, but would like to get an App out into iTunes so that we can hold a piece of real estate in a specific category as well as have an App name that someone else cannot use.
    thanks in advance.

Yes, you can switch from a single-folio app to a multi-folio app with subscriptions. In DPS App Builder, you'll need to create a new version of the app. (When you edit an app in DPS App Builder, you cannot change the viewer type.) If you specify mobileprovision files based on the same App ID used with the single-folio app, Apple will recognize the new version as an update to the existing app.
With a multi-folio subscription app, you'll need to submit in-app purchases to Apple. When you do so, you'll need to submit a new version of the app at the same time.

  • Upgrading to Multi Folio with Entitlement

I'm upgrading a multi-folio app to a multi-folio app with entitlement. If I delete the multi-folio app in DPS app builder, will that affect my publications in anyway (e.g. stop the distribution)?

Nope. You may have to contact product support and ask them to adjust the version number of the new app so it is a higher version number than your previous app in the store, so it will upload correctly for distribution.

  • Creative Cloud member wants to publish multi-folios for a client...

    Hello everyone,
I did send this question as a"private message" first and did receive some answers that I would like to share here. Big thank you to both Himanshu and Bob!!!  If someone feels like adding more info regarding the subject please do.
"I’m the Adobe Creative Cloud member (one year subscription) and as such I’m entitled to publish a Single Edition app through my Digital Publishing Suite. Now, I have just been approached by one printed magazine, here in Vancouver, Canada, and I’m suppose to provide them with an estimate for adapting their publication for the iPad. Before I start thinking about my fee I would like to know what we have to pay to Adobe. They have four issues per year and I guess this goes under multi-folio applications category. Now, the questions:
    1. Can I prepare the folios with my Creative Cloud membership or I have to upgrade to Professional edition of the DPS?
    2. Does my client need to purchase the Professional Edition of DPS or not?
    3. Or, we need only one license of the Professional Edition and if so who’s is that license going to be?
    4. Or, I’m talking nonsense and you can just explain me how this works, please?
    Have a wonderful day."
    Regards,
    Dragan, Vancouver
    Himanshu Singh :
You would need to upgrade to DPS Professional Edition for multi Folio Applications. DPS Pro is $495 per month + taxes. Also you have download fees applicable. You get 250 free downloads per month for the first year and  for any additional downloads, you need to purchase Folio Bundle. Approximately, each Folio Download will cost you $ .30, so you can charge you client that amount per folio download + DPS Pro contract fees.
If your Customer purchases DPS Pro, you can read this article to know how to work with them : http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/customer-a gency-dps-workflows.html
    Now regarding your questions.
    1. Can I prepare the folios with my Creative Cloud membership or I have to upgrade to Professional edition of the DPS?
You need DPS Pro for creating Multi-Issue Applications. With CC, you can create Built in single apps. For Magazine with at least 4 issues per year, it’s best to go for Pro edition.
    2. Does my client need to purchase the Professional Edition of DPS or not?
Either you or your client can purchase DPS Pro depending upon your contract with the client. You Client needs to get themselves Apple iOS Developer account.
    3. Or, we need only one license of the Professional Edition and if so who’s is that license going to be?
    4. You need one DPS Pro Contract. You can create unlimited number of apps and account using one License.
    Bob Bringhurst :
In this case, I believe that your client would need to pay for DPS. Have you seen the DPS Getting Started Guide? There's a section about understanding IDs and roles.

Priceless man, thank you so much!
Have a wonderful day, and if you need anything, just let me know

  • Will a complete Creative Cloud version allow me to make multi folio apps?

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone can clear something up for me please? I subscribed to the complete creative cloud package over the phone earlier, and checked with the person I spoke to that I could make multi folio apps with it. I'm putting together a magazine, so need to sell subscriptions and want to have all of my issues grouped together. I explained all of this and the woman I spoke to said I would be able to make multi folios, and that the complete creative cloud subscription would be the best one for me to get.
However, now I'm subscribed to it, I don't seem to be able to do create multi folios. Only single folios are available.
So I'm just checking whether I've been misinformed? Do I need to subscribe to the Professional Edition so my magazine can have subscriptions? Only that's £347 a month, versus £70 for the complete creative cloud subscription.
Also, if I do need Professional Edition, do I have to commit for a whole year with the subscription or can I subscribe month to month?
Thanks, I really appreciate any help anybody has for me
    Vincent

No, you can only create Single Edition applications with your Creative Cloud subscription. If you want to build and submit a multi-folio application you'll have to sign up for either a Professional or Enterprise account.
I believe you can sign up for the Professional edition on a month-to-month basis.

  • How can one change the order of the issues (folios) in a custom viewer?

    Hi,
I am trying to find how one can determine the order that the issues (folios) will appear in a custom viewer (multi-folio with subscriptions).
I tried to rearrange the order by changing the publication date in the Folio Producer Oorganizer, but it has no effect in the iPad custom viewer.
    Thanks

The publication date settings determine the order of the folios in the library, so that should work. Did you update the folios?

  • Multi-folio Next Steps?

I've created a multi-folio viewer, with "sample" material, published the free app and submitted it to Apple. While I wait for Apple's approval, I'm wrapping-up the folios that will follow. but will be for purchase. These folios seem to be working just fine and appearing as a download in Adobe Viewer app on the iPad.
For some reason, I can't wrap my head around what should be the next steps to publish the folios and submit to Apple. Do I create new certificates, does each new folio have a different bundle ID, what about product IDs? (I am using the same Adobe ID and using a Pro account.) How does everything connect?
I would appreciate some help getting over this hump.
    Thanks!

It's hard to tell what in particular is confusing you, so I'll give a quick overview.
On the Adobe side, you use the Account Admin tool on the Dashboard to assign the application role to the Adobe ID that you use to create and publish your folios. In Viewer Builder, you specify this Adobe ID in the "Title ID" field. Any folio you publish when signed in using this Adobe ID appears in your app's library. It sounds like you understand that part. When you publish a folio, each separate issue should have its own Product ID. Use the format "com.publisher.publication.issue." (If you're creating folio renditions to make the same issue available on different platforms such as iPhone and iPad, use the same Product ID for the different renditions of that issue.)
On the Apple side, you create one App ID for your app, along with the certificates and provisioning files. If you're selling retail content, you need to use iTunes Connect to create a Product ID for each issue. Again, use the "com.publisher.publication.issue" format. This Product ID should be identical the Product ID you specify on the Adobe side when publishing the folio as Public and Retail. In iTunes Connect, you submit these In App Purchases to Apple for approval. Apple opens the distribution app you submit and inspects the public folios you publish.
If you have a subscription app, you also need to create a Product ID for each duration. Use the "com.publisher.publication.duration" format. You specify these Product IDs when setting up the subscription app in Viewer Builder.

  • Switching from multi-folio to single edition app

I've recently had to cancel my subscription to the DPS Professional Edition in which I published an multi-folio (iPad & iPhone) app to iTunes.
Now I'd like to resubmit the app as a single edition app with my Creative Cloud subscription (which will be iPad only).
I get the following error message when submitting the app with Application Loader:
ERROR ITMS-9000: “This bundle is invalid. The key UIRequiredDeviceCapabilities in the Info.plis may not contain values that would prevent this application from running on devices that were supported by previous versions. Refer to QA1623 for additional information: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#qa/qa#1623/_index.html” at SoftwareAssets/SoftwareAsset (MZItmspSoftwareAssetPackage)
ERROR ITMS-9000: “This bundle does not support one or more of the devices supported by the previous app version. Your app update must continue to support all devices previously supported. You declare supported devices in Xcode with the Targeted Device Family build setting. Refer to QA1623 for additional information: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#qa/qa#1623/_index.html” at SoftwareAssets/SoftwareAsset (MZItmspSoftwareAssetPackage)
error: xcode-select: note no developer tools were found at ‘/Applications/Xcode.app’, requesting install. Choose an option in the dialog to download the command line developer tools.
And a pop up box asking if I want to install Xcode:
The “lipo” command requires the command line developer tools. Would you like to install the tools now? Choose install to continue. Choose get Xcode to install Xcode and the command line developer tools from the app store.
Is there a work-around for this - besides installing Xcode and trying to figure out the targeted device settings?
Or do I have to start over and apply for a brand new app in iTunes Developer, etc.?
    Thanks!

This probably isn't about features in the app. Support for Newsstand can be removed and Apple will approve the modified app. Same goes for removal of other features.
The error description from Apple is pretty clear... you have stopped supporting a device. There are only 2 devices: iPhone and iPad. If your app supports both iPad and iPhone then switching to single-issue will remove support for iPhone (as only DPS Pro and Enterprise includes support for iPhone). This is why Apple won't approve the app.

  • Multi-folio app with iPhone

I want to build an app and target the iphone...
    1. The app will be free and multi-folio with issues released yearly
    2. I will also target the iPad SD and HD
    3. We have the DPS Professional and will do this with renditions.
The app will not go into the newsstand
I may or may not charge for the issues
How does the library look on the iPhone ? any examples one can show me?
Do I need to offer something for "free" in this app
Is this possible to do with DPS Professional?

You can do this with DPS Professional. Just check the "iPhone" option in App Builder when you're building your application and provide the neecssary iPhone assets. It's pretty easy to do so you might as well just build one and try it on your device to see what the library looks like.

  • Multi Folio App and in-app purchases

    Hi,
I got a multi-folio app that is up and running well under iOS, with free folios inside.
After completing the process of uploading public retail folios, adding them as in-app purchases in iTunes Connect and Application Loader (with screenshots, etc etc) the status of the in-app purchases remain in "Ready for Submit" yellow light, and it seems to be stuck in that position.
The update of the binary app with IAP enabled is already cleared for sale and so forth and so on...
Anyone ever been in this situation?
    Thanks,

    Hi Bob and thanks.
The question is: in a newsstand multiapp - can i have only in app purchase subscriptions (retail) and NOT in app purchase of single folio?
    Many thanks!

  • Multi folio app problem

I created a multi folio app, but my folios are not being displayed in my app. What should I do to correct this problem?

    Hi,
I think I've managed to find you in our system and here is the cause of the problem
You have created an iOS viewer and an Android viewer each associated with a different Adobe ID, also known as Application ID. However, the only folios you have published appear to be under the DPS Master account.
The Master account is not meant to be used for publishing, if anything it should only be used the very first time to set up delegate accounts (Admin, App Builder and Application roles).
Your folios needs to be published respectively under their own Adobe IDs or Application accounts.
If you have 2 different viewers, the Android folios should be under the Adobe ID you’ve selected for your Android viewer and your iOS folio under the Adobe ID you’ve selected for your iOS viewer.
The guide Neil provided is a good starting point, I would just add the following link to get a better understanding of all types of accounts:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/account-administration-tool.html
    Hope that helps.
