Folio producer error

I needed to publish our monthly folio for a client. But all I get this month is an error that reads:
An error has occurred while trying to publish your folio. We could not start this operation. Please try again later.
What does this mean? We regularly publish this on a Tuesday morning each month. It gives me no indication of what the error could be. I have tried various options, even setting it for a scheduled delivery (always fun trying to figure out GMT time) but I get the same error every time for the past 20 mins.

Ok, we seem to have solved this. It seems the Enterprise renewal has not been finalised...
So if this happens to anybody else, check for renewals dilemmas.

  • May 1 Folio Producer Error

    Hello,
Today I log in and can not update any Folios. I get the following pop up in the web interface.
An error has occurred while saving your changes.
A newer version of Folio Builder is available for download. Update Folio Builder to the latest version here.
Not really sure why I need to update anything as this is the web interface but I follow the link anyway and download the folio builder that is available
    Here goes to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/collection.jsp?collID=4&platform=win
    I then go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5155
and download the same version as I already have. And thus, am still getting the error.
Have tried refreshing cache, in both chrome and IE.
If anyone can offer some advice, it would be most welcome.

    Hi,
but except for the DPS App Builder, the other tools are not yet online or did I miss something?
    Thanks,
    Yves

Hello, I've just finished folio. But when I press Publish and fill product id, it crashes
    What's wrong???

Getting the same error!! What's going on??

  • Error when i try to upload a Folio in the Folio Producer.

When i try to upload a Folio in the Folio Producer i receive this message:
"An error has occurred while trying to publish your folio. We could not start this operation. Please try again later."
I need a solution guys, please?

When I've received this error in the past, two things worked to resolve it:
1 - Close and reopen the Folio Builder panel
2 - Quit and restart  Indesign
My problem has gone away since I updated to CC 2014.

  • Error when updating in folio producer

    When I try to update my folio in Folio Producer I got the following message;
"An error has occurred while updating the folio on the distribution server.
    Failed to get folio catalog."
    What could be the issue?

    Susanna,
This sounds like unexpected behavior related to your specific account or folio.  If you are willing to contact me off of the forum, I will arrange for further investigation of this problem.  Please provide the following information when you contact me:
    1. The user name of the account you are attempting to publish from.
    2. The folio name you are trying to update.  A screen shot of the row in the Folio Organizer may be the simplest way to show us which one.
    Please reference problem #2934524.
    Thanks,
    Michelle

  • Folio Builder Error: Source Files Not Found

I'm having some weird issues with DPS that are preventing me from editing folios. Whenever I try to update, import or add an article to a folio (whether it's a new or existing folio), I get one of the below error messages saying that the source files cannot be found. However, I haven't moved any of my files. Also, it doesn't make sense that I get this error when creating a new folio and trying to import/add a new article as I'm inputting where the files are located.
I've also tried reinstalling the Adobe folio tools. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks for the help.
    Error message text:
"An error has occurred opening the source file for the article layout. The InDesign file for the layout cannot be found."
    "Content generation error. [SourceFilesNotFound]"

Fuzzpocket17's issue was found to be caused by the following:
He had a working install of InDesign and the Folio  Producer tools when he left on vacation. When he came back, he did not.  It turned out that his IT had converted his user account on his Mac to  be a Managed Mobile account, synching their data to a new network volume  named "Users". When he unmounts that volume, all his Folio Panel  activities returned to normal. T
o see if you have a Managed, or Managed  Mobile account, open the System Preferences and choose the Accounts  pane. Look at the description under your account. Here is what a Managed  Mobile account looks like:
Managed  accounts have the ability to be restricted in many ways. One of those  restrictions could be preventing the application from reading/writing to  the CS<N>ServiceManager folder refernced in my earlier  post. Again, if you find this to be the case, consult with your IT. You  may need to revert to a non-Managed account to have the Folio Builder  panel operate correctly, until your IT can ensure normal user/library  file access.
    Sincerely,
    Matthew

  • Having problems to sign in folio producer

I recentrly updated the dps plugins to 27.0.0 version and since then i can't sign in to folio producer. Any help about this??

This forum is held together by sticky tape and wire from the sounds of the posts over in the general forum area (which is probably where you wanted to post this comment, more than here, but you have been beaten to it by a long way: error signing in
As a tip, I find killing the browser and starting it again usually does the trick usually within 5 - 10 attempts :)

  • Folio Producer fails to update older published issues

A client wants me to update an advertisement in several past issues including issues published in January and February 2012.
I updated the article in the folio and go to the Folio Producer to update the published issue, but either immediately get a failed attempt or it will process up to 20% before failing. I have tried publishing multiple times and it constantly fails.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
    Why can't I update?

What do you see when you click the 'Failed' link. There should be an error message there.

  • Export failed in Folio Producer

I'm having repeated export failure in Folio PRoducer on a folio that I've already exported 4 times with no problems. I can't figure out what is different since there was a minor fix, then I updated, and now it won't export. the message is just "An error has occured while exporting the folio."
any ideas for what I might do to get past this??

    Hi Michelle,
I've exported this folio and built an iPad single viewer app just yesterday.
The folio is changhed, but we made only some minor changes like text correction.
There is no problem to view this new folio on the Adobe viewer
The download of the zip file doesn't start, but the error message is generic.

Adobe engineering has looked into this and found that the server queues appear to be functioning properly at this point.  I’ve also tried export from test accounts and seen it succeed.  Thus we are not encountering the same problem as we were a few days ago.
Can you provide specifics of the error or failure you are receiving?
Have you successfully exported this folio previously?  Have you made changes since?
Are you able to preview the folio without warning messages?
    Thanks,
    Michelle

  • Folio Producer Editor: Missing or unable to load layout

I have an ongoing problem.  I have rebuilt from scratch the folio and article of my app multiple times, but once I view the folio in the Folio Producer Editor I receive the error "Missing or unable to load layout."  The folio and articles get loaded to the Adobe Content Viewer on my computer and iPad with no problem.  The app looks and works great. When viewed from the online Folio Producer Editor, I continue to get the error.  I am debating the idea of moving forward to publishing the app, since the app works well everywhere else.  Does anybody know if I will encounter an error later, because of this error?
I read an earlier forum post that asked the question about connections.  I am using a standard wifi connection with download speed of 8.46 Mbps and upload speed of 4.45 Mbps.  Would this cause a problem?

I had this issue. When you are initially setting up your folio, you are given a choice between landscape, portrait, or both orientations. I had set it as both as I had originally intended to do both, but later decided to do landscape only. Unfortunately you only are given this choice in the beginning. I only created horizontal/landscape orientation (insert what ever orientation you used) and needed to click on the horizontal view in order for it to pull it up correctly. It doesn't automatically recognize what orientation is required to view the app when  you do not have the other created yet. The buttons for the orientation are just to the left of the Thumbnail size adjustment slider. If you only produced one orientation (landscape or portrait), you'll need to click on the appropriate view in order to see your layout correctly. My solution was to go back and create a new folio choosing landscape only orientation and repopulating it. Hope this helps. Perhaps all these kinks will be worked out in the future.

  • IPad VS Folio Producer: some folios not matching

    helllo
on my iPad's content viewer, I still see some old folios that are useless
I've deleted them on the Folio Producer panel but htey are still in the iPad content viewer and there's not way (?) to get rid of them because the only choices i got are
    - resume/show (i don't know if THESE terms are used in the english version as i use the french one)
the "archiver" button does not show
and if resume, the article just deos not upload of course
anyone experiencing this and has any clue ?

Unfortunately, there's no way to hit any "cancel" button, it does not show, i only got "resume/show" and if i try to resume, a popo up shows saying "Dowload error" try again later" and i just an click okay, and then back to state#01

  • Unable to publish in folio producer

I'm having an issue trying to publish in folio producer. Last night I published renditions for both resolutions of iPad and made them private, this morning when I tried to update them to make them public and I got the following message:
"An error has occurred while trying to publish your folio. We could not start this operation. Please try again later."
I'm still getting this message six hours later. We've recently renewed our DPS subscription and this is the first thing I've published since then. We've apparently been reassured by our Adobe representative that there would be no problems with our ability to use DPS while the subscription was being renewed.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks for replying Bob, this turned out to be a problem at Adobe's end here in the UK, it's all sorted now.
