Folio update bug in the branded viewer v23

Hi,
We have a 6-page flatten folio (each page is a separate article) that we updated. If folio was previously downloaded in the viewer and then updated (without archiving of the old one), page 5 (5th article) remains old page (same thing happened on two iPads). After archiving "corrupted" folio and re-downloading (or if it's downloaded for the first time) everything is OK. Also download size was different - 1MB for good new folio and 4MB for the "corrupted" one. Looks like some bug with server pushing old article. I wonder if anyone else have experienced this bug.
Thank you!

I experience this problem frequently (but not always) when updating content: it's as if the interactive overlays get confused about which page they're supposed to be on when you add or change something. That said, the problem is nowhere near as bad as it used to be.
As you have found, Archiving the folio and downloading the whole folio anew is the only fix.

  • ADF does not update FK to the child view (MasterDetail)

    Hi!
Entities have in my system based on database views. These entities have ViewObjects. There is a relationship between the Entities and Associate of View Link between views. Despite this, after inserting a record, got an error warning that the bank could not return the value. To correct this problem, I performed the following operation:
I was in my EntityDefImpl.java entity and overrides the method createDef () with the following code:
    @ Override
    protected void createDef () {
    setUseReturningClause (false);
Ok, I get no more errors returning. However, now I can no longer go to children's views the value of the parent view ID.
Does anyone know how can I fix this?

When you use deepMergeClone you need to be careful as all the objects in the entire graph will be merged. If object identity is not maintained correctly in your graph of objects being merged you could end up missing updates, i.e. if your parent being merged had the changes, but the children were referencing a different version of the parent object without the changes they could get merged again, and your changes lost.
Typically mergeClone, shallowMergeClone or mergeWithReferences is safer, but you may need to cascade the merge yourself, i.e. call merge with each child object if they are not privately owned.

  • How can I make folder view the default view when I open Organizer?

I just bought Adobe Elements Photshop and Premier 11.  I spent 2 to 3 hours getting my picture video library into Adobe's organizer.  I had some problems with duplicate picture (that I wanted to be there - so I had to rename them) and a couple pictures with corrupted metadata.  After I got all that sorted out I am a bit miffed about the folder view on Adob'es organizer.
I love that you can switch to folder view - since this is how I have been organizing my pictures for a long time.  I would like to continue organizing this way for now until I get a grasp on the other ways I can organize them in elements.  However, every time I close and re-open organizer it switches back to the default view instead of folder view.  PLEASE tell me that there is a way to set folder view to the default view!  HELP!

    I am sure it is.
    - The normal use of the Organizer is not the folder view, it's the thumbnail view with an organization based on categories and folder. That way you should forget completely where your pictures are stored. Anyway, the folder view in the Explorer is not a map of the location of the different bits of your file, it's only a logical representation. That's easy to see when you are doing a defragmentation.
    - The folder view is useful even for those using normally the thumbnail view, but that is only for rare cases when you must change the folder organization, for instance moving files to another drive. The folder view is here to prevent you from changing things from the explorer and outside of the Organizer.
    - The new folder list view, which you find 'funny' is there to help better organizing using tags. Its huge advantage is that such a view is created extremely quickly by extracting the last subfolder in the media table : it's the way the database sees the folders, based on its own content,  totally ignoring the complex folder organization of your disk with media files or any unrelated other kind of data. You should use it in many cases, the main purpose being assigning tags when you have assigned descriptive folder names. I had suggested such a solution to prevent the long standing bugs in the folder view of previous versions.
    So yes, the purpose is:
    - to speed up switching modes
    - to help folder organization fans to migrate to tags organization
    - to hopefully get rid of the old folder organization bugs

  • Folios vanishing update bug

    Hi,
I have an v27 app created in the DPS app builder. Some of my folios disappear after an update, but they show again when I go to the "remove issues from iPad" screen.
I searched the DPS forum and found this discussion http://forums.adobe.com/message/6073001#6073001 which reffers to a similar bug in adobe content viewer. Does it apply do v27 apps created in the DPS app builder too?

To piggy back here, I'm having the same issue.
I've tried turning off documents and data under Icloud. I have also tried Resetting all settings.
Edit: possible fix, resetting the keyboard dictionary seems to have worked.

  • "Archive" and "View" buttons don't work after folio update

    Hi all,
I have a subscription to the professional edition and I have built a custom viewer app for Android. I have built about 10 folios and at first download all is ok, the folios are displayed without problems and the app works fine except for one issue: "Archive" button don't work, when I tap on it, near folio cover, nothing happens, the folio does not disappear from folios list.
But the serious problem occurs when I perform a folio update from Folio Producer ('Update content' from adobe dashboard DPS): both "Archive" and "View" buttons stop working, nothig happens when I tap tap on them and I am forced to uninstall and reinstall the application on tablet (.apk file) to see folio changes in my custom viewer.
This is very annoying as well as time expensive.
Tablet is Samsun Galaxy Tab SII with Android 3.2.
    Any help is appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, the SII is a smartphone and not a tablet device, and the official claim is (correct me if I'm wrong) that DPS on Android is corrently tablet only.
Anyway, it seems strange to me so checked and found out that even though the DPS apps are not available when you search for them in the Play Market of a smartphone you can still force load them to the phone and run them.
I've done it on both a Samsung SIII running Android 4.0.4 and a Samsung GT-I9070 running Android 2.3.6 (I currently don't have a device running Android 3.2)
The interface is so small that it's hardly possible to use it, but it works.

  • Folio is uploaded in the server but I cannot see it in my Adobe Viewer

My folio is uploaded in the server but I cannot see it in my Adobe Viewer in my iPad, any idea guys how to be able to see it in my Viewer?
    Thanks.

There are some bugs that can cause this issue. If you are adding long, smooth scrolling pages (ie 1024x3000) and performing a "New" to add the page from the Folio Builder Panel versus using the "Import" command, this issue can be caused.
As the previous posted said, you need to either have all horizontal, all vertical, or all horizontal and all vertical pages. You cannot have a mix of both. If there is a fundamental error with your folio, it iwll not be available in the viewer.

  • Updates to Folio Panel, Producer Tools and Content Viewer on iPad breaking scroll panels

This has not been a good morning.
Came into the office this morning, logged in and saw that there were updates for the Content Viewer, Producer Tools and the Folio Panel. Updated them all. Started to work some more on a promo piece for a new magazine and began to notice Scroll Panels using the "Pan Only" form within the Content Overlay panel no longer work. This was a great way to create scroll panels that could contain hyperlinks. Problem is, I am not sure where the problem lies. Is the problem with the Viewer or with the updates to the Folio Tools or Folio Panel? I am unfortunately on deadline for this afternoon and I don't have the luxury to troubleshoot this. Granted, I probably shouldn't have updated all of these tools at this juncture, but I was hoping that these updates would fix the problem I was having with the Desktop Viewer that wasn't working. Sadly, the Desktop Viewer works now, but that came with the price of losing functionality elsewhere.
    Frustrated.

Yeah, it's been a project that I was working on for the last two weeks. We were supposed to have a final walk-through this afternoon and present it tomorrow. But now a good portion of the features that were working and had been promised no longer work. All out of no fault of my own. I understand that these things can happen, but this one is pretty bad and the timing was worse. Like I said, I shouldn't have updated the tools and the Viewer app until after the presentation... but then again, that may have been even worse. At least I was able to get the presentation postponed until Monday... gives me a little more time to figure out what to do.
Anyways, I did able to get a hold of someone through support and was able to send them some files. It's being looked at as I type this. I do have to give credit to the Adobe support staff, they've been helpful and pretty responsive! Thanks guys!

Photos that have been deleted to aperture trash cannot be viewed. Any assistance is welcome in fixing this bug. The showing all files option is selected in the filter. System is 10.8.4. Aperture version 3.4.5. Used to be able to view the files then all of a sudden they have stop appearing. Once the aperture trash is emptied the files can be viewed in the system trash. Becomes quite annoying if you want to review the aperture trash files before deletion.

Cookiemonster, previously Frank Caggiano's magic helped in this situation - have you tried the double, double Caggiano as described here?

In the most recent version I cannot get this trick to work, however. But try it anyway, maybe it is just my macthat has an issue.
Did this happen directly after the update? Where is your library located, on an external or an internal drive? Are your originals managed or referenced?
I'd try next to check, if this is caused by the library, by creating a small test library and trying to trash pictures there. If it works well in a new library try to repair the database and the permissions on your regular library.  See:

  • Adobe Content Viewer v22 for Android - folio update issue

Yesterday I updated our Xoom to Android 4.1.1 and updated the Adobe Content Viewer to v22.  Both we and a client have had issues with not seeing the "Update Available" message for folios that are been updated.  The "Updating Library..." message flashes briefly at the top of the viewer in library mode, however nothing changes.  It's only after killing the app and restarting that it takes its time while checking the library for updates and finds them.  Has anyone else had this issue?  The iPad rendition of the same folio has been showing update messages in the usual, almost instantaneous, way.
Has anyone else had difficulty with updating folios in the Android v22 Adobe Content Viewer?  In the past couple of versions I've noticed some strangeness with the Sign In/ Sign Out part of the library where it seems like the text tells you you're signed in, but sometimes you have to sign out and sign back in to get updates.  Sometimes you could go back to the home screen and then go back into the app and it would trigger a check for updates as well, however that trick doesn't seem to be working anymore.
    Andrew

Thank you for the reply Himanshu.  Evidently the problem is much worse than I thought because previously created apps don't even open anymore!
None of the apps we have published to the Android app store are getting past the splash screen.  The library flashes briefly on some of them before the app crashes.  The error message it gives is "Unfortunately, ____ has stopped."  This is a big problem!!  Will updating the apps to v22 solve this issue?  When will Adobe have this major problem fixed?
I'm flashing back to June of last year when reliability of basic functionality (like apps opening and folios being downloadable/viewable) was still unpredictable.  You Adobe guys and gals have got to figure out how to make the DPS system dependable.  I understand this is an operating system conflict, but surely you knew this update was coming and could test how well your software would hold up to the changes.  This isn't a barely used minor feature that isn't working, this is something that makes users uninstall the app and lessens their opinion of the company that released it.  Please make this your top priority and get it fixed today.  We and our customers are paying for a much higher level of service than this.

  • View count AND thread update bug?

It's the end of the year, so that might be the reason of this oddity, but here is my problem:
I just posted a comment to this thread and returned to my profile page to just realize that somebody had already posted a comment. I went back to the thread and did not find anyhting new, so I went back to my profile...just to discover that a new post had just been added to the thread (and the view count had been incremented).
Long story made short, at each iteration of this procedure, the view count goes up by 1 and the thread keep appearing as updated, when it is not. I tried that on Chrome and IE8, same thing.
The interesting thing is that this does not happen for another thread (I just posted in this one too and repeated the above sequence and did not see the thread update bug happen, however, the view count increases each time I go back to the thread).
To me the thread activity being stuck IS a bug. The view count being incremented each time the original poster displays the thread is debatable. I guess strictly speaking it is the correct behavior and what would be an intersting additional information would be the number of VIEWERS...

Hmm, I think I understood what is happening: for some reason, I must have failed to read ALL the posts in those threads (very likely in the case of the first one I mentioned, as it is 10 pages long, but I was under the impression I had followed the second one quite closely). I can only see that if I click on the "View All" link at the bottom of the panel showing my recent posts:
Then the list that shows up indicates the number of NEW posts. This is a misnomer in the sense that generally those posts can be be anterior to the one you posted, so there are not "new" rather just "unread". I may be mistaken, but in the case of the second thread I mentioned, I think that what I may have not checked out AGAIN is the response that was labeled as "answer" by the original poster (but I thought I did though). It is only when I went through all pages (without reading anything, of course) that the thread lost its "highlighted" status.
Anyhow, here it the suggestions I would have:
    - introduce a new "unread" post column (in addition to the "new" one).
    - offer an option to "mark thread/topic as read" (so that you don't have to go through 20+ pages of a thread to deactivate it)
    Sorry for the misunderstanding.

  • N70 brand TIM (italy) update bug

i just want to let nokia-guys know that the firmware update 5.0609.2.0.1 for TIM n70 breaks the brand of the phone...
it is not undbranded however, it is a bugged hybrid, for example in the themes menu, i can see the TIM theme named TIMN702nd.skn but i can't use it, nor delete it.
also, the "internet" icon in main menu is now replaced with a blue puzzle icon named "operator menu" which gives a system error if clicked.
right selection key link to operator url is broken and gives a "qtn_idle" instead of the brand version of shortcut

Same for me. But there is an even bigger problem: Now my phone is in a very buggy state. After about 5 minutes in different applications (Nokia e not: i.e. Galleria, Web, Gestione Applicazioni, Opera 8.6) the phone restarts automatically. During a call happens the same.
    Help me out!!!

  • Update-button i the next version o Adobe Viewer?

There is a delay when you´ve updated the folio, and when its actually completed in the Adobe Viewer.
Example. You can login and only half of the Folio is complete, so you have to log out, and then in again, then its maybe 75%.
A nice feature to make this process easier would be to place a update button in the library/adobe viewer?

  • Minor bug within the Folio Producer

When editing an issue containing a Multi-State object within Folio Producer, if the Multi-State object is set to "autoplay" and/or "swipe to  change image" there is no image of the multi-state object in the thumbnail of the article.
However, if "autoplay" and/or "swipe to change image"  are de-selected then the first state of the Multi-State object appears in the thumbnail view of the article.
Annoying because, you get the sense that something is wrong with the article...but the Multi-State object appears to function appropriately based upon teh settings in Overaly Creator - the thumbnail representation aside.

You can update the viewer builder panel independent from producer tools.
So you can stay on version 17 of the tools but you need the current folio
    builder panel.
