Follow These Steps To Always Lose Sound Effects With 10.5.6

I can lose sound effects on Mac OS X 10.5.6 by following these steps. Can anyone else also lose their sound effects? This problem has existed for me on many releases of 10.3 and 10.4.
1) Enable Fast User Switching.
2) Login as user1 and note that sound effects work.
3) Without logging out as user1, login as user2 and note that sound effects work.
4) Without logging out as user2, go back to user1 and note that sound effects still work. Then logout from user1.
5) Go back to user2 and note that sound effects no longer work.
6) Reboot system to restore sound effects.

Can anyone reproduce the lost sound effects problem?
Thanks.

  • HT5149 Hi, I still have problems reinstalling Final Cut Pro even though I followed these steps. Didn´t find "com.apple.motionapp.plist" to remove though, but the others I found. Reason why I have to reinstall is because I have repaired my Macbook Pro hard

Hi, I still have problems reinstalling Final Cut Pro even though I followed these steps.
Reason why I have to reinstall is because I have repaired my Macbook Pro hard drive at a Mac Authorized Repair.
Short history of repair and my Final Cut Pro installation:
    1. Macbook Pro stopped working, sendt it for repair. Had the Final Cut Pro installed,
    2. Desided to try a MiniMac and recovered my backup with Time Machine, got the Final Cut Pro working.
    3. Got my Macbook Pro back from repair, did backup on this one as well. But this time only the files not the Applications.
    4. Removed the files as mentioned in HT5149. Didn´t find "com.apple.motionapp.plist" to remove though, but the others I found.
    5. When I try to install Final Cut Pro from App Store, it downloads the application as planned. But after download it won´t show in the Application folder nor in the downloads folder, nor will it start an installation prosess. If I pause the installation in App Store, I can see the Final Cut Pro icon in my Dock. (But, as mentioned, after installation it won´t show neither here or in the Applications folder).
Any suggestions on what I should try now?
Thanks for any reply, I´m in deep water here...

Sounds like there is a file you're not getting.  Never do a removal manually.  It's so time consuming and a pain.  There's a very easy and fast way to do this, safely, properly.
Get the free "Final Cut Remover" app from Digital Rebellion (dot com), use this to remove FCP X.
    Reboot the Mac.
    Download from scratch.
If you're not seeing FCP X in your app folder, run Disk Utility to Repair all drives.
If that doesn't help, try running Disk Warrior from Altsoft to repair the directories on all drives.

  • Can Reliably Lose Sound Effects On 10.4.5

I found a way to reliably lose sound effects on Mac OS X 10.4.5. I will report this to Apple using Mac OS X feedback.

    Hi, Richard.
One question: are you using USB speakers? Have you tested this using only the internal speakers on your iMac?
    Good luck!

I've this problem and don't know what to do , i'n trying to follow these steps so i'm asking how to turn off photo syncing and to sync my device

As the article you attached says, "Within iTunes, select the device, then select the Photos pane and turn off syncing."
In other words, once you click on the device in iTunes on your computer (with the iPhone attached), you then click "Photos" near the top and uncheck the "sync photos" box.
Then you sync your device by clicking something in the lower right (it probably says "Apply", but it might say "Sync").

  • Playing Sound Effects with System events

I remember that years ago, it was possible to play sound effects with system events (start up, shutdown, insert/eject disks etc.) and am wondering if it's possible to do the same under Tiger and, if so, how.
    Thanks & regards,

9 had a slew of sound effects. OS X is not so forth coming but in one of the System Preferences, maybe Accounts or General (I'm at work on a PC and can't check) there is an option to turn on what few sounds are offered.

  • HT201210 Followed these steps, still doesn't work...

I connected my iPhone to iTunes to restore it, because it is in DFU-mode, but it  keeps saying it wasn't eliglible for this build. Does anybody know what to do? Already followed the steps in apples guide at least a hundred times.
I already know how to leave DFU-mode with tinyumbrella, but my intenition is to restore my iPhone in order to remove the sim-lock (legally, already got confirmation from provider, but still have to unlock via itunes).
    thank you
    heye

Tinyumbrella probably modified the hosts file on your computer, try putting the file back to how it was before you installed Tinyumbrella.
See this Apple doc for more info -> iOS: Resolving update and restore alert messages
If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device,   that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file.   You may receive an error 1004, 1013, 3194, or "This device is not eligible for the requested build" in this circumstance. First, uninstall the unauthorized modification software. Then follow the steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server in the Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store section of iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting.

  • Sound Effects with Adobe Premiere Elements

I am looking to buy a video editing package
Have downloaded the trial version which appears fairly easy to use
I can't find any sound effects? Some other video editing packages come with a whole range of sound effects
Have I missed them? Do they exist?
    Many thanks

  • HT201269 Following these steps, has anyone run into the problem of losing the 4s data ability?  My phone no longer acknowledges my data plan.  I have to reset to factory settings to get it back, but then I also lose all the first gen backup transfer info.

Long story short, I'm trying to progress from my first gen iPhone to my iPhone 4s.  I sync my first gen as directed to create a backup, and then restore my 4s to the first gen backup.  However, once this is done (and it does successfully transfer my first gen phone apps, photos, texts, calendar, etc-etc to my 4s), my 4s phone no longer has 4g data like it did prior to syncing - it doesn't recognize my data plan at all.  The only way I can access the internet is through my wi-fi.  So then I have to reset to factory settings and re-plus my personal settings into the 4s but then I lose everything from the first gen transfer.  Any thoughts and/or recommendations/suggestions?  Many thanks.

  • Re: Creative and VISTA - Works on Record WHAT You HEAR AT LAST - Follow These Steps!!!!

I have "Sorted" Out My Creative to work (NOT RECORDING WHAT YOU / I HEAR) with VISTA?I use Musicmatch to Play and or Real Audio to Listen / Stream?from the Net (You may use ANY Player for the same) and then Press the Record on My COOL EDIT Pro and WHALA There I Have Music that has been Recorded - What a Relief!!!!!!!:smileyvery-happy:?Get / Download COOL EDIT PRO and do ONLY the Following Settings:?Set the Settings in the Options - Settings - Multitrack - Click / Tag in "Open Order" on "Rec Play" and Click/Tag in "Start Order" on "Play/Rec." and Click/Tag in Default Rec on "Stereo" and Away You Go?Enjoy Your Creative Sound Card and Recording / Streaming Yet AGAIN?Best Wishes?Andre (from South Africa - East Coast - Port Elizabeth - The Friendly City)

I do not have 'what you hear' as an option any longer with the new Titanium; I had it with my older X-Fi Fatalty, but not this new card.
I would imagine it has something to do with Microsoft trying to limit recording of DRM-protected content, and Creative bowing to their wishes.

  • Mac stuck on the grey apple screen startup? Follow these steps to re-boot....

So today I had a little scare with my Macbook. It was stuck on the grey apple startup screen with the loading icon. Switching it on and off did nothing and neither did waiting. I did a lot of browsing to try and find a solution but all the forums ended in 'looks like thats the end of my mac' or 'I think i've lost everything' or 're-install Os' blah blah etc. I DID NOT WANT TO LOSE ANYTHING!!! and I'm guessing neither do you! Ok so enough talking, in the end I found a solution which worked perfectly for me and I did not lose anything!!!!!:
    Step 1
If the Mac is on switch it off.
Once it is off, switch it on again but this time as soon as you press the power button to switch it on, hold down the Apple cmd key + S.
Hold this down untill the 'safe boot' screen appears.
A black screen with white writing should now come up.
    Step 2
Once the screen has loaded, at the bottom type:
    /sbin/mount -uw /
    [press enter]
    then type:
    chmod 775 /
    [press enter]
    then type:
    exit
this re-boots the mac. As soon as you have done this the mac should load up again as normal!! Voila!!!
    Hope it helps!

Someone suggested this to be risky. worked for me but DON'T DO IT WITHOUT RESEARCHING FIRST and if in doubt CALL APPLE!!!!!

  • HT2534 i follow these steps.. but i cant find "None" option in the payment Method...

cant find "None" option in the payement methods..please help..

Did you follow the instructions on that page exactly when creating the account (the instructions won't work with existing accounts) ? I've just tried it and I get the 'none' option i.e. I logged out of my account and found a free app in the store and clicked on its free 'price' :
And on the popup that you then get I clicked on 'create Apple id' :
Which then gave me the 'none' option :
