Any comment on my Summary:
My understanding is that, in dealing with forecasting during modeling
a) One approach will be to create a new Cube, infobjects for Forecast data in addition to the cube for the actual data. That makes it 2 Cubes.
Advantage:
if you have huge amount of data having several cubes may serve as a kind of physical partitioning - improved performance.
Disadvantage
To compare the data in the actual and forecast, the two Cubes will have to be united with a Multiprovider; more DB space because of redundant storage of characteristics in the similar cubes.
b ) a Second solution will be to keep to a single Cube, i.e combine the actual and forecast, and differentiate the actual and forecast with a new characteristic (like 0Version) and set different values for actual, plan, forecasted data.
(By the way, will we have to create a new dimension for this additional characteristic)?

Also on this message ...in other words, if you have a lot of data, go for a multiprovider, otherwise you can manage only one provider with a char that aims to separate different views...
Does go for a multiprovider mean create 2 Cubes and use multiprovider to unite them?

Not very sure of this message So Use the logical partition by Multi provider concept -- By "multi provider", is it referring to b) (above) or on a different subject and referring to partitioning the single cube in a)

I am new to BPS. Trying to implement forecasting. Can u let me know how i should implement the forecast planning function when using a single cube scenario.
can u give me a small example to make it clearer or point me to an example link where they actually tell you how to implement the function.
I am having a lot of difficulty expressing the exact issue I am having but still i'll try to explain. How can i in the forecasting function use several data columns in the layout as reference data columns and copy the result of the forecast to new data columns in the same layout. I have defined each data column as a key figure in the cube.
I am really having a lot of problem. If u have some contact number please let me know so that i can call you from my office now.

Also, the message And when comparing to query execution time taken by the single cube, the above disadvantage is countless. Can you clarify this?

Issue in consumption of forecast for configurable material

Hi,
we have a issue in consumption of forecast by sales order for a configurable material.
Please find the below details for the settings maintained and the steps followed.
Please let me know how we can overcome this issue.
settings in R/3
1. Class and characterisitcs are created in R/3
2. standard material was created and class assigned
3. planning strategy used is 56
4. material, class, characteristics,ATP check, ATP customizing , sales order were integrated to APO
Settings in APO
1. CBF table, CBF profile, Consumption group were created in APO
2. Consumption group is attached to the product master
following steps were followed.
1. Forecast was created in DP for a certain characterstics ansd relaesed to SNP/PPDS
2. forcast is visible in product view
3. sales order was created in R/3
4. slaes order is visible in APO but it is not consuming the foreacast for the same set of characteristics.
Please let me know how we can overcome this..are we missing any customization ...?

The forecast consumption problem was solved after correcting the entries in requirement strategy.
have one more query.
when the sales order for a configurable material is transferred from R/3 to APO, we should be able to see the values under "descriptive characteristics tab" in APO product view.(when we click on the green triangle representing the configuration).
However, we could see the values under "descriptive characteristics tab" for some of the characterisitcs and not for other characteristics.
we tried comparing the characteristics but could not figure out the reason.
any pointers / clues to come over this issue would be helpful.

For me it was Solution 5. I had to change permissions and add me as a user (only had system access to the folders).

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.

Issue with 2wire dsl router when connecting power pc g4 via ethernet. The 2wire will keep resetting. When I connect my macbook pro via ethernet to the 2wire all is ok, but as soon as i connect the power pc. . . .reset. I have emailed 2wire support. They recommended using a different patch cable. Tried that.. .. anyone else having this issue???? Any help would be appreciated. . .

Search the discussions for issues with 2wire dsl routers. This has come up before in a discussion I've been involved with, but probably not to do with the MDD. I do remember it being a design issue with the router, something that was done to it before dispatch.
Let us know if you can't find it and we'll have a look.
If you afford it, bin the 2wire and go buy something decent like a Netgear.

Updates come through Software Update not the App Store. If you have to reinstall Lion that is done via Internet Recovery.

My unusual (?) printer issue -- Prints only partial lines when printing in black (part 2)

I have been using my HP Officejet J4680 with my Win7 PC for several years and relatively problem-free -- until about six months ago.
My printing issue might be rather odd. So odd, in fact, I’m not sure how to succinctly describe it. I’m not too techie, but I will try….
This printer will print some lines correctly, other lines print only partially, and some lines don’t print at all.
This oddity happens ONLY when I print in black. When changing the color of the text to any other color other than black the page does print correctly.
Further, this issue seems to occur ONLY when printing certain things/files/formats. For example, material from most websites will print correctly. As will most .PDF files. Printing files such as .txt, .doc, .wps, etc., seem to be the most problematic.
Fixes I have tried include:
Uninstalled and reinstalled printer
Run HP’s diagnostic tools (including checking for any driver updates)
Installed several new black ink cartridges
Cleaned and re-aligned printer head
Lastly, the “copy” feature continues to produce good results. These problematic symptoms seem to occur only while using the “print” function.
Short of relegating this printer to the trash, I’ve tried everything I can think of. Help/ideas/suggestions appreciated.

This only occurs when I attempt to go into iCloud setting in system pref's... I have attempted to change my password and also reloaded iCloud. Neither of these actions resolved the issue. When I open iCloud preferences in system preferences on my Mac, it prompts me to enter my appleID and password. Once entered, it just hangs...
What exactly did you do (verified your apple ID/iCloud but in a very difficult way)?

Hi,
In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears when you do this.
Navigate to Containers/com.apple.soagent/Data/Library/Preferences
You will notice that many of the items are Aliases (to the Originals in ~/Library/Preferences).
But there are exceptions.
Delete (Drag to Trash) the com.apple.soagent.plist and com.apple.messageshelper.AccountInfoController.plist
Restart the Mac (I have not worked out is SOAgent launches when the Mac does).
Restart Messages.
If this does not work navigate to ~/Library/Preferences
In here find and Delete com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
This will need a Restart of the app.
You will be asked Again for your Apple ID

Ref Solution 2: It's interesting how I cannot find the Preferences file anywhere on my mac. (new mac pro, OS 10/9.2) . . .
Ref Solution 3: Lightroom doesn't allow me to do anything after the error message appears
Ref Solution 4: don't have any Nik Software plug-ins
Ref Solution 5: checked permissions and changed all to "Read & Write" - makes no difference

I would have had the phone looked at long before a month of problems.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. You phone is under warranty and someone at an Apple store can help you.
