Follow up on copying unested sequences

I've been coping sequences as some of you described by using "Select All" and copying and pasting them into new timelines to keep from getting nested sequences, but it seems when I Command-drag marked sections of these copied sequences into a new sequence I'm lossing my linking from video to audio as well a losing my stereo pairings. Is there a way to make these edits and still maintain linking and pairing?
I have also found that if I want to use the "replace edit" or the "overwrite edit" in the same manner (cutting a portion of an unested copy of a sequence into a new sequence) the Command combination does not work with these edits and I get a nested clip when it is edited into the new sequence. Is my FCP malfunctioning, or does the Command combination only work with a drag or the "Insert Edit" button?
Thanks again for the help!!!!!

Shane,
Thanks for your reply. It seems I may have misundertood some of your original instructions. I have been copying ("select all"; copying and pasting into a new timeline) my sequences as you suggested to prevent the unexpected nesting I was getting.
I have been also utilizing the Command-drag method, but apparently I've been doing it incorrectly. I have been Comm.-draging marked sections of my copied sequence directly into the timeline. I gather by your reply I should be Comm.-dragging into the canvas (which I have done from time to time) My question is that I have found that I can successfully Comm.-drag into the insert window of the canvas and get the expected clip in the timeline, but when I use the overwrite window in the canvas in the same manner I get a clip of a slightly different color in my timeline. I also find that I'm losing my audio to video linking and my stereo pair linking when I Comm.-drag. Can you explain where I'm going wrong? Why do I lose the linking, and why does it appear that a different version of the same clip comes into the timeline if I Comm.-drag into the insert window in the canvas as opposed to Comm. draging into the overwrite window of the canvas? Also, I do quite a bit of Replace editing and it does not seem to me that Comm.-drag Replace works either. Can you halp me with that too?
Thanks again for your patience. I really appreciate it!

  • Follow-up transaction copy control for opportunities

Our CRM system is currently configured to permit follow-up opportunity creation.  When follow-up transactions are created all product categories are copied to the new opportunity.  We would like to stop this.  All header and business partner data should be copied as present, however product information should not be copied.  (i.e. follow-up transactions currently work, we only want to switch off product data copying)
I am not familiar with follow-up transaction customization, and not sure exactly where to start.  Should I be modifying the current BAdI or is there a standard customizing option to switch off copying of product categories?

    Hi Derek,
    Just try this:-
Go to SPRO->IMG->CRM->Transactions->Basic Settings->Copying Control for Business Transactions->Define Copying Control for Transaction Types.
Search for entry Source=oppt and target=oppt. In this entry, uncheck the check box-Copy Item Number and see if it resolves your issue or not?

  • Premiere crashes every time I try to copy a Sequence that contains a nested sequence

I'm working a project that has a lot of multicam sequences in it and I'm having a problem with Premiere crashing. I want to be able to iterate my sequences for versioning as I go through and make changes requested by my client for final approval but don't want to get rid of the old versions in case I need to go back for something later. I use the as a general practice because I've learned the hard way that it's much easier to save everything and need it rather than start making changes that I might want to get back later
Most of the items don't have any issues; footage, gfx .movs, stills, etc. all copy and paste fine as do my 'source' sequences which have 3 video tracks (cam 1, cam 2, and a gfx track). I am then dragging those sequences into a new sequence and 'Enabling Multicam' on that clip so I can use the multicam function of the Program monitor (a great feature I might add). However, I am now going back and making changes and want to create new iterations of my 'Multicam Sequences' and when I go to Copy them Premiere crashes. I also tried right-clicking and selecting 'Duplicate' but this also causes a crash. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening? I think I'll need go ahead and submit a bug report because I really can't think of why this should be the case.
The only workaround I have thought of is to create new sequences and drag the contents of each of my old timelines into new, revisable sequences while still retaining my old originals.
I'm on a PC with Windows 7 Professional and have all the updates for the newest version of Premiere CC

Sounds similar to what's happening to me. I'm on a Mac with Premiere CC.
When I try and duplicate audio tracks, crashes almost every time.

  • SCD2 mapping following the "scdwhitepaper", but my sequences are skipping

    All,
I have created a mapping that follows the guidelines set in Oracle's "scdwhitepaper"
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/products/warehouse/files/SCDWhitePaper.zip
I have got the mapping to work but I am experiencing a problem where my Surrogate IDs, which are populated by a Sequence, are skipping. I would like the IDs to be sequential like 1,2,3,4,5 etc. But instead I get 1,2,3,4,8,12,etc.
I look at the generated code and here is the relevant part:
    WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
    INSERT
    ("DIM_PROD_TEST"."TGT_OWB_SURROGATE_ID",
    "DIM_PROD_TEST"."TGT_OWB_BUSINESS_ID",
    "DIM_PROD_TEST"."TGT_PRODUCT_CODE",
    "DIM_PROD_TEST"."TGT_PRODUCT_TYPE",
    "DIM_PROD_TEST"."TGT_EFFECTIVE_DATE",
    "DIM_PROD_TEST"."TGT_EXPIRATION_DATE")
    VALUES
    ("DIM_PROD_TEST_SEQ".NEXTVAL,
    "MERGE_SUBQUERY"."EXP_PRODUCT_ID",
    "MERGE_SUBQUERY"."EXP_PRODUCT_CODE",
    "MERGE_SUBQUERY"."EXP_PRODUCT_TYPE",
    "MERGE_SUBQUERY"."EXP_EFFECTIVE_DATE",
    "MERGE_SUBQUERY"."EXP_EXPIRATION_DATE")
I suspect Sequences are being generated for all records in the "open set" (inserts and updates of live records), even though I only need Sequences for records which are truly new/inserts.
Anyway ... has anyone experienced this behavior or know how to troubleshoot / fix?
    Thanks!
    Sammi

Yes, this is because of where the sequence is generated. No, there is no real fix. Well, unless you want to break up the mapping into two completely separate where you first identify all of the inserts and do them, then do all the updates as a totally separate path (or do it in the other order). Of course, then you are trading off efficiency for your sequence. Also, you will have to manage correlated commits or have some other strategy for how you deal with one of the two discrete operations failing.
Or, I suppose you could simply not load the surrogate key in the mapping but do it in a row-level insert trigger. That will definitely impact performance too!
Oracle has never intended sequences to be used to create a dense key. The simple nature of OLTP systems, for example, assumes that sometimes data will be deleted thus putting holes in a sequence even if you had managed to load it perfectly.
Frankly, you should take a hard look at why you think you need a perfect, gap-free surrogate key. In my experience, attempting such a thing is far more trouble than it ever would be worth as ensuring order implies that you are attaching some meaning to the surrogate key, and by definition they are supposed to be meaningless.

  • PP CS6 crash when copy a sequence

I work sequence by sequence before putting them together. To do that I open sequence after sequence, select  all tracks - copy and paste in the main sequence (I need to have all tracks in detail in the main seq before putting music and mixing).
It worked fine until a few days ago when PP starts crashing when I copy (ctrl c). I made sure the media cache file has enough available memory. PP doesn't crash when I copy only one track at a time (but it's a hell of a work with 10 seq and 10 tracks each). Windows events list shows error with "Blackend.dll" but I'm not 100% sure it's related to this crash.
I run W7 64b 8GB cache. PP apps are on C: with 110 GB free; data and work files on external with 486 GB free.
I never had this before with CS4 and 5.
    Thanks for your help.

I've not seen this error before.  You might try reinstalling PP.

  • Copy whole sequence and subsequence.

In my main sequence there is a sequence in a Select Case structure that has one step, a call to a sequence which has several subsequences. I want to copy the whole case including all the subsequences and subsubsequences. By copying Case, step and end and then pasting am I copying the whole enchilada or just the cheese topping? Maybe there is a standard idiom for doing this.
    thanks,
    jvh
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If the two are almost identical, why don't you just use one and have different parameters that you pass?
Dennis, that was my goal. However the original was written by one who was an old hand at LV and he uses TS sparingly. The original has the same subsequences repeated for each frequency in a band. An expression is used to set the freq at the beginning of each repeated group. So the whole suite could could be shortened and a set of frequencies passed in for each band (group). I have been using LabView part time for a couple of months and I am learning TS on the fly. I proposed shortening the sequences and passing in parameters from an .ini file or perhaps using Property Loader. There are 4 modules involved. I offered two schedule alternatives and as I am learning on the fly I estimated that doing it the right way would take me 5 days and the quick way would take 2. (Less in reality but I have several other projects ongoing at the same time.) The RF engineers said we need it now so management said do it the quick way first. Either way it is a learning experience.
That's probably much more information than you wanted. I guess I could say "that's the long and short of it".
Looking forward to doing it the right way, quick way will be done in a couple of hours.

  • TS1717 I am on Windows 7. Yesterday I ran an update on iTunes, today when I try to launch iTunes I get the following message: This copy of iTunes is corrupted or not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. I am worried that I have now lost my music

I am on Windows 7. Yesterday I ran an iTunes update and today I receive this message when I try to launch iTunes: This copy of iTunes is corrupted and not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. I am woried that I have already lost my music and don't want to re-install.

I found this on another discussion board and it really helped, I didn't have to uninstall anything and didn't lose any music
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".

  • How do I sync the "view size" when I copy clips from one sequence to another in FCE4?

My idea was to edit an advanced clip in a separate sequence (bad idea) and then copy it into the main sequence, but I ran into an obstacle.
For a clip to fit the window in Sequence 1 it is shown at 44%, while in sequence 2 it is enough with 22%. Problem is, when I copy a clip from sequence 2 to 1, it appears twice the size. How can I adjust this? The clip from sequence 2 becomes disproportionately big on the screen when copied to sequence 1.
Thank you for taking your time.

As Studio X pointed out, you open a huge can of worms when you work with sequences of different specifications, but try this -
once the clip has been pasted into the sequence, click on it on the timeline so that it is selected. Now Control-click on that clip, and from the drop down menu, choose Remove Attributes.
When the remove attributes pane opens, check the box for Basic Motion and Distort (if they are not grayed out) and click OK. This should reset the clip size.
If this is successful, you can do this to multiple clips all at once by selecting them, then clicking on any one of the selected clips and doing the above.

Hi I followed instructions to copy/move iTunes music to a new PC. I can see albums listed in the library but SYNCH will not put any music on my new iPod.
It took three weeks to import my CDs on the old PC and I don't want to do it again!
    Can anyone help ?

Take a look here; it should help:
iTunes for Mac: How to copy purchases between authorized computers
Though it refers to items purchased from the iTunes Store, it applies to all your iTunes content. And if you happen to also own an iPod:
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
Once you have the tracks on some removable medium, you can mount that on your new computer and then just drag the content to the iTunes window. Make sure that the option to "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is set in the iTunes -> Advanced -> General preferences before you do. Alternatively, you can use the Add To Library command and select each track (or folder of tracks).
If you won't be using that Windows system once you move the content, don't forget to deauthorize the system from your iTunes Store account before you dispose of the computer.
    Regards.

  • Working on keyframes in a copied sequence changes the original sequence as well (Premiere Pro CS5.5)

    Hi everyone,
maybe this is a very basic question, but the search in the forum didn't bring up any related questions, so here i go:
Let's say, i copy a sequence in Premiere Pro CS5.5 and paste it in the same project. I have some textclips with keyframes in them. (I do this, because the videos stay the same, i just write different things into them. When i change the keyframes in the copied sequence the way i need them there and then go back to the original sequence, the keyframes there were changed as well. This is not what i wanted.
My question therefore is: How can i make a copy of one sequence and then work on it without changing the original one at the same time? Why are they linked anyway? Is that just a selection in my version of Premiere Pro or is that a general thing?
Would be great, if someone could explain that to me.
    thanks!

If you have not done the New Title Based on Current Title, what you have are Instances of that Title, and they are all linked to the original Title. Make a change, and it is global to all Instances. This is very useful, if for instance, you have a typo. Say that you have used the old Western moivie cliche Title "Meanwhile Bock at the Ranch," a dozen times, only to discover the typo. You only have to correct "Bock" to "Back" one time, and it corrects all Instances of that Title.
With New Title Based on Current Title, you have separate, individual, and un-linked Titles, so any change will ONLY affect the Instances of THAT Title.
While the Instances can be very useful, one can be easily confused, when a change to one Instance affects all others.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Creating Copy of a Sequence

    Hi ppl...
I am trying to create a Copy of a Sequence in a Sequence file by using SequenceFile.GetSequenceByName and  SequenceFile.InsertSequenceEx method. Then I rename the Inserted Sequence. This Method doesn seem to work. Because both the sequences are getting renamed. How should i create the Copy of sequence...?

    Hi,
You need to use the Clone method.
This example my point you in the right direction

  • Copy setting to new sequence

I'm working on an HD project and when I copy the sequence and paste it in a new sequence where do make it the same settings? I went to settings and it looks like they are the same.

    1) It's only been a few hours. Calm yourself.
    2) You hardly gave any information to work off of. "HD sequence"? What kind of HD? What do you mean "copy the sequence and paste it in a new sequence"? Are you taking about nesting, or just duplicating clips? "I went to settings" is not quite a sentence.
