Followed the xp to osx network guide, but there are permission issues..

I followed the guide that is in these forums.
I finally got both xp to osx and osx to xp working. However when I added my music folder from my mac to be shared, only a few random album folders could be accessed from windows.
Essentially most of the music I did not have permissions to.
In the mac preferences I added "music" and my Admin account and "Everyone" had read and write selected.
What could be the issue here?
on a side note, does Itunes/quicktime not work on Xp x64?

so it looks like my music folder has permissions set correctly.
but the seperate album folders inside arent. Admin account set to read and write, but "unknown" set to no access....
How do I change this? for all my albums?

I have added the OS Lion 10.7.4 but there are most of times that it is too slow, even in web activities or software running, for example several seconds takes to open Microsoft office programs, or Adobe Acrobat.
It takes at least 10 second to Copy 10 Cells in Excel file or paste it.
Some times my CPU activity load is more than 40% (system) as I checked by activity monitor and CPU fan is working very hard.
Every time that I restart my laptop spotlight indexing is start over and takes 15-18 hours to do indexing.
I really getting mad, could somebody help me to recognize the problem.

Step 1,
The top CPU% was belong to Speed Download when it was working with value of 96%, but nothing was in download process.
I forgot to make note of CPU values for % User, % System, and % Idle when Speed Download was working. I quit Speed Download after quitting Speed Download, the top usage is belong to “kernel_task( 24%)” and next top belong to “WindowServer” and “mDNS responder” with different value.
CPU% values for % User, % System, and % Idle is 12% , 7% & 77%

Try resetting your phone, hold the home and sleep/wake button down until the apple symbol comes up, then release. If that doesnt work, you may have damaged your phone and need to take it to an apple genius bar.

Restored vault on a new Mac and the projects and albums show up but there are no photos.

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro. I currently have about 33,000 photos on an older MBP. I created a vault (I thought) of my old Aperture library and saved it to my Time Machine. I restored it to the new MBP, which took forever, but after the restore the projects and albums I created show up on the new MBP but there are no photos. In the 'About My Mac' storage settings it says there is 162.68 GB of photos on my computer (which is the same size as the photos on my old MBP). How do I find them?!

If you want to remove the movies & videos from your iPod Nano in order to transfer to your computer, connect your iPod Nano to your computer. Double click your iPod Nano icon. I imported bookmarks from Firefox 3.6 on a MacBook Pro to Firefox 3.6 on new Mac Air. The bookmark folders all show up, but there are no bookmarks in the folders.

Using Firefox 3.6.12 on both machines. Exported the bookmarks at html and imported them as html. The import seemed to go well -- followed the standard approach. I can see all the folders in my Bookmarks Menu and Bookmarks Toolbar, there are no bookmarks in the folders. I tried re-exporting and re-importing.

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)

Import & Backup is the third button on the toolbar in the Library that looks like a star.
You should be able to export the bookmarks via that button.

My old macbook air crashed so i got a new hard drive. i successfully restored all the music i bought on itunes but there are a lot of other songs that i did not obtain through itunes that i cant figure out how to move from my phone to my computer.

You can transfer songs that you didn't buy from the iTunes store but it requires third party software such as Suneti. This is one of the best programs I know for the task and unfortunately I'm not aware of any freeware programs that transfer music from an iOS device to the computer.

I was trying to attach a template and encountered this error

As you can see below, when I click on "Manage Sites" I do
have 2 sites defined and my index page, for one, is finding it ok
for an earlier attachment.
What's going on here?

Maybe this is tied into the same problem but in my File
window I see the ftp for ML & ScS but I no longer see distinct
selections to see my local files for the two sites. The dropdown
menu gives me access to my hard disk and then I have find them in
the expandable directory.

Check for the latest updates. Installing latest updates should resolve this problem.

Might you have a newly acquired iPad that is still locked to someone else's Apple ID? If that is the case, then you will need the former owner's Apple ID and password to proceed. That feature is called Activation Lock and described here:

If you cannot get that former owner's Apple ID and password, you will never be able to use the iPad.
