Following Content - Document Preview

If I deactivate the Following Content site feature the buttons at the bottom of the document preview form disappear, is this correct?
I want to remove the 'Follow' option but keep the other buttons. Is this possible?

By design in SharePoint, the Following Content site feature only impact the “Follow” Button.
I recommend to deactivate and reactivity the Publishing feature.
To deactivate the Publishing feature, you can:
Go Manage site features, deactivate SharePoint Server Publishing feature.
Go Site collection features, deactivate SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure features.
To activate the Publishing feature, you can:
Go Site collection features, activate SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure features
Go Manage site features, activate SharePoint Server Publishing feature.
If the issue still exists, I recommend to create a new site to check whether it works.

The content search webpart is fetching documents using query and we didnt know what results are going to come. For the result documents i need to show the preview.

Document Preview File Types

Hi,
I am trying to find a list of all the file types that the document preview in a SharePoint Online environment supports. By this I mean the preview must show the contents of the document, and not just the metadata.
Does anyone know of a list I can reference?

Basically its all the standard office document types and PDF. Its the same list as the document types supported by Office Web Apps since that is what does the preview. Here's a support article that explains what Office Web apps supports.

PC-UI: Document Preview not working in Portal

Hello CRM Gurus,
I'm trying to use "Document Preview" as described in the PC-UI Book at Page 157. I've created my own structure ZCRMT_BSP_OPP_CREATE_QUOTATION which includes the structure CRMT_BSP_PREVIEW. I've created my own Modell access class and implemented the READ Method as follows:

I've created a new Event ZOPP_CREATE_QUOTATIO which is functional relevant. Added this Event to the Toolbar Group OPP_OIC. Added the Event to the Application Layout of "CRMD_BUS2000111" with position "New Window" and Screen type = PREV Preview. In the Application Set I've added the Modell Access Class ZCL_ANGEBOT_ANLEGEN to the structure ZCRMT_BSP_OPP_CREATE_QUOTATION which is dependent of OPP_HEADER.
When I test the application through CRMC_PCUITOOLS its working perfect. As soon as I run it in the portal the page is refresehed when I click the Button "Create Quotation" but no new window appears.
Any suggestions?

I'm facing the same issue. the print preview is not even working when the application is run thru CRMC_PCUITOOLS.
Also, what Field Group/Tool Bar Group have you assigned to the new entry in the Application Layout?

Exchange Office Web Apps Preview Does not work in OWA. An error occurred while the document preview was being created

I have managed to configure intergration between Office Web App server 2013 and Exchange 2013 OWA.
I have created a test users Test1 and Test 2. I have given full access on Test2 mailbox to user test 1.
When I login to owa for user test1 and preview the attachment it works fine.
However when I use "Open another mailbox" in OWA and open test2 mailbox and try to preview the attachments in test2 inbox it errors as
" An error occurred while the document preview was being created. Please try again later " as follows
I am new to office web apps server 2013 and implemented it first time. Can anyone suggest resolutions or troubleshooting ?

To narrow down the cause, I’d like to recommend the following troubleshooting:
1. Does the error appear when you directly access test 2 mailbox through OWA?
2. Check if there is 141 error in your event log.
3. Check whether Office web app server connects with Exchange server when the issue happens.

4. Grant full access permission again and check the result.

Document preview shows EDIT option even if someone does not have edit rights

From what I can see, in the document preview panel in search results one of the options says "EDIT" even though the searcher only has read rights. Is this correct? If so is there a way of changing it so that it says "OPEN" if the document
is read-only to the user?

No way to change it that I am aware of. For the most part MS doesn't impose a lot of permissions checking on links in dialogues. To do that would require a lot of extra processing.

No documents Preview in finder

Hallo.
I use a lot the documents preview, but since i have 2 user aconts on ma iMac it doesent work fine. It show no previews of the document into the folder or when i use the space bar to see the full image of my document.
I have allways to do a finder restart, and then work fine untul...it doesnt work again.
Any ideas?

Hello. I had a similar problem an solved it like this:
Search for following file:
iWork.qlgenerator
(use advanced search in the Finder with Option "Include Systemfiles")
Move this file (iWork.qlgenerator) to following path:
Sytem / Library / QuickLook
If there's no folder named QuickLook, just create one.
That does the trick for me. Good luck.

System Error in KM Content - Documents

I am getting the following error when navigating from Content Administration > KM Content > Documents
System Error
An exception occured during the program execution
On checking the NWA:
java.lang.NullPointerException

at com.sapportals.wcm.util.acl.jdbc.JDBCAcl.isAuthorized(JDBCAcl.java:410)

*Error doesn't appear when logging with the J2EE admin rights As per the note, I did check the System Principals and they are correct..
Any thoughts?

The "Change Resource Permissions" is already acitvated as per the example here under:
Example
Permissions for an Administrator Role
Authorized to Change Resource Permissions = activated
Unlock Permission                         = activated
Resource Permissions                      = write, read, delete
Permissions for index_service User
Authorized to Change Resource Permissions = deactivated
Unlock Permission                         = deactivated
Resource Permissions                      = read
It does not say to change permissions of the "Documents " folder self!. I checked the permissions on the "Documents" folder and it is by Default to "Everyone - full control".

SC - Approved but status is 'Awaiting Approval' and no follow-on document

Hi,
If a shopping cart is approved, the approval preview shows that all approvers have approved it & it is complete.
However, when you check the status of the Shopping Cart, it still shows 'Awaiting Approval'.
In addition, BBP_PD states that no follow-on document was created.
What can I do to trouble-shoot this issue?

You probably have a workitem that was not cloased yet, because of it the Workflow status is "Started" or "Awaiting".
Please check the workflow log in the SWI6. You can complete manually it by SWIA.
Please follow this example:
1)
Complete the document manually:
   A. Go to SWIA transaction :
      Complete the WF pressing "Complete Manually"
      Then the WF status should be "completed"
   B. IF so, go to transaction SWO1:
      Put the object type: BUS2201 (Purchase Order)
      Click on "Test"
      In "Instance" put the PO number: 4400015308
      Then execute the "setrelease" method:
            REQNO: 4400015308
            INITIATOR: "User"
Has the PO a inconsostency status ? Have you tried release the document ?

Document Preview Capability in Files?

I have a vague memory of being demonstrated a capability within Files (though could have been email) to preview a lot of standard document types without having to download the full document.
So for example it will generate a read-only html view of a word document that you can use to look through the document before deciding to download a full copy. Can someone confirm that this feature exists and maybe point to where I might find documentation on this feature.

Make sure Silverlight is installed on machine which search performed. Go to
http://www.silverlight.net/ and download Silverlight runtime
Run the SharePoint Configuration Wizard after setup the Office Web Application for SharePoint 2010.

Document Preview with Word highlight in arabic

We have business requirement in which we need to display search result document to be preview however we want the word enter in search box to be highlight in document preview.
We are ready with third party product as well.
We are looking for this product to be supporting arabic languages

Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to make the search keywords highlighted in document preview.
By default, SharePoint uses Office Web Apps to preview the documents in search results and it does not support highlighting the keyword in document preview.
So to achieve this goal, we need to use the products which supports to highlight the keyword in document preview to integrated with SHarePoint.

Why a site that has follow content disable can be follow from my site

Hi, this is my question.
I have a site where Follow Content feature is deactivated, so, the follow icon doesn't appear.
Now, If I search the site from MySite, I can find the site, click on the elipsis and click on Follow, so, if the site has this feature disable, why can I follow the site?

According to your description, my understanding is that after you disable Following Content feature for a site, and you could also follow the site via Hover Panel Follow button in search result.
As your description, I could reproduce this issue.
And also I found that :
I searched some documents in the site that I have diabled Following Content feature, the Follow button in the hover panel also displayed. If I clicked it, nothing happened.
Go to Search Center, disable the Following Content feature. Then seach another site that I enabled the feature, the Follow button in hover panel also displayed. If I clicked it, nothing happened.
It seems that the Following Content feature work for the current site Follow button. If the feature is enabled, the button can work normally. If the feature is disabled, the button in search result hover panel will have no response.
So, if you don’t want users to follow sites in seach center, please disable the Following Content feature in the Search Center.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to know if the MySite is needed for following content and getting updates of the followed content.
When users follow documents, sites, or tags, status updates from documents, conversations on sites, and notifications of tag use show up in users’ newsfeed, so users need to their MySite to view the updates in Newsfeed by OOB and you need
to migrate the MySite to SharePoint 2013.

Pdf portfolio document preview issue

I'm creating a pdf portfolio in Acrobat XI and have run into a problem when using grid view. When viewing the pdf portfolio on my 15" laptop, the document preview is cropped in both the thumbnail and larger preview. But when I view the pdf portfolio on a larger monitor, both previews are fine. Any ideas on how I can fix this issue? Thanks so much for reading.

CRM_ORDER_DELETE does not delete salesorders with follow-up documents

Hi All,
in my CRM 5.2 i have to delte many sales orders exchanged in past from R/3 to CRM via middleware.
There is report CRM_ORDER_DELETE to delete sales document filtering with transacion type and sales order code, and it is ok;
but the problem is all the sales orders that have one or more follow-up documents (visbile in CRMD_ORDER transaction) are not deleted by the program and the message is as follow:
The following document could not be deleted:                 8101167607
Object ORDERADM_I cannot be deleted
Number of documents deleted:                                      0
Number of documents not deleted:                                1
How can I delete them ?

Hi
you should in first iteration delete last documents from documents' flows,
and later your sales orders.
You cannot delete documents that are in the middle or beginning of doc flow.
