Hey muditsisodia
It is not possible to use your C5-00  front camera as a web cam. This because the unit does  have or support TV-out function.

  • I tried validating my fonts and there are a whole bunch of fonts that have problems. How do I fix these problems?

I was reading this article and it said that you should validate your fonts occasionally. I did and a whole bunch fonts came up with problems. How do I fix these problems?

At the top of the window where your fonts appear after the validation run, there's a drop-down (defaulted to 'all')
Select warnings and errors from that list and the resultant list in the main window should tell you what the problem is. The most common is duplicated fonts.
You can use 'resolve duplicates' in Font book, but it can be a bit hit and miss which ones it deactivates.

  • Garbled fonts when generating a PDF file

    Greetings all:
I am currently creating a series of documents in FM10 which are then converted to PDF for eventual posting on the web.The first two converted to PDF okay (more or less). I created a chapter template which is used for making the third document. All of the formats and document properties are the same. When I generated the PDF (saved book as PDF), I got some weird results. All of the headings, chapter titles, and other text that used the Lucida Sans Demi Bold font came out garbled. Even the character count doesn't jibe with the original in Frame. I checked to make sure the font is installed in the c:\windows\fonts folder. Adobe PDF is set as the default printer. I tried generating the PDF with "Rely on system fonts only, do not use document fonts" checked and un-checked both. There was no difference in the output.
I don't have much of a choice in fonts. The people I'm doing the work for really want to use the Lucida Sans Demi Bold font. Other sans-serif fonts look okay in regular type but their bold faces are too bold.
Fonts aside, what's going on with the PDF conversion and why am I getting it now with this new document when it worked before with the other two documents?
BTW - I'm using the PDF add-on that came with FM10. We don't have the full version of Acrobat installed. No one to compare notes with here, I'm the only writer and the only FM10 user. On a Win7 platform.

Make certain that the "Convert CMYK Colors to RGB" option is checked in your SaveAsPDF window. Otherwise, you're using the CMYK workflow, which has some serious problems.

  • Word2007 to PDF conversion FONT issue!

I converted My 181 Page Word Document to PDF through the
    PDFmaker(acrobat 9 pro)embeded into word2007. Everything Went
    smooth almost a 1:1 replica.
The one issue I am having is that I noticed the PDFmaker did
not convert my Font properly, as I will explain in more detail
    below.
My document has a total of 4 different fonts used. Below are
the 2 fonts, 1 of which did not convert properly.
    PalladioURWTOT-Medium
    PalladioURWTOT-MediumItalic (conversion Problem)
(side note these are open type fonts)
You see the main text used in my document is
"PalladioURWTOT-Medium" all the text files in that font came out
100% fine the problem occurs with the Italicize ones. in M$ Word
when you want to Italicize that font you click the "Italic icon".
When you do this word uses the "PalladioURWTOT-MediumItalic" font .
So in other words technically there are 2 different fonts, as the
Italicize version gives the font a very different look cause it's
    using a specific font.
Now here is where the problem lies when I converted the PDF,
it seems the PDF maker looked at all the
"PalladioURWTOT-MediumItalic" fonts and instead made them
"PalladioURWTOT-Medium" and then adobe went and slanted the font
trying to iItalicize it. It therefore does not look at all like the
original "PalladioURWTOT-MediumItalic" and now I am at a loss as to
what I can do in order to get Acrobat to recognize this.
Here is what I assume is happing. I noticed in word when I
have a the Font selected in it says "PalladioURWTOT-Medium" as the
selected font, of course as you can see below i have the Italic
icon selected as well. Word2007 does not allow you to selected the
actual name PalladioURWTOT-MediumItalic since it already
understands that when you hit the icon that it will automatically
    use the italic font.
    Example
    in WORD
    here is a
    "PNG
Image" I made to illustrate the issue i am having with the
fonts used and what supposedly happened
ANy help or suggestions would be very much appreciated as
this Issue has really cause some serious problems for me.

  • Fonts are not the same color from page to page?

I had a page with white colored font and the subsequent page had a grey version of the same font.  So I created a new page off of the page that had the correct white colored font and I copied the text from the other page to the newly created page and the font came in BLACK and a different font completely!
    What gives?
    Is there a solution?
    Thank you,
    C

I did.  I switched over to firefox and it was fine.  So I emptied the cache of Safari and it worked.
    Thanks for the timely response.

  • Font Editing Issues

First off, this is a great application. I have found it very easy to get going.
One of the projects I am putting together was created in Photoshop CS4. The type layers use an OpenType font.
Once imported into Catalyst, some of the layers kept their formatting. Others however, defaulted to Arial, not Gotham and blue as opposed to a grey.
Even though I applied the formatting in Catalyst, it wouldn't take.
No matter how many times I tried, whatever type formatting I applied it jumped back to blue Arial.
This was not consistent on every type layer either. Some of the layers kept the styles applied in PS.
    Simon.

    @shooternz and @snarky...
First of thank you. Answers to questions:
    We both use macs.
Unfortunately screen grabs won't help much but i attached one anyway; the "prep mangos the easy way" on the left is her font contained inside reimported video in my sequence. the "prep mangos the easy way" just to the right of it, is my text box that matches the exact size of hers (as you can tell). But my settings are size 155 and leading -28. Where her's is size 117 and leading 9.
As far as I can figure, it shouldn't have to do with screen resolutions because our sequences are exactly the same resolution.
    @snarky:
I can't uninstall my font Avenir font because it's a system font (came with my OS it seems). Hence, I suspect that's the problem (she may have a new version). But still, if I've managed to find the exact same size of font and leading that lines up with her's on my end, shouldn't that always work?
I suppose my main question is this: have any of you had any similar problems and if so how did you resolve them? If not, it just has to be because of this damned Avenir font and how it's a system font for me and not truly the same as her's.

  • Beginner font questions

These are some beginner font questions if someone has the time/patience.
I've never paid much attention to fonts over the years, never installed
any other than those that might have come with applications. Early on,
15 years ago or so, I settled on Palatino and I've stayed with it for
most docs (Word 5.1a and now Word vX) and often for other apps (Safari,
    Now).
I just upgraded to Tiger (10.4.4) and I use Word vX.
    Questions:
    1. I gather from looking at Font Book that when I'm using Palatino in
Tiger that OS X is getting it from my OS 9 System folder for Classic.
It does not look like Palatino is in any other locations including MS
Office vX. Does that make sense?
    2. I always thought that Palatino was a very basic, always available
    font. Not so?
    3. If I decide to stop using Classic, and I'm close to that time, can I
transfer those fonts to OS X? If so, to which location is best.
    4. And are the same fonts used for printing and screen? In other words
back in pre OS X days I thought some fonts came in screen versions and
print versions but my memory is hazy on that. Not only that.
Thank you for any education or links for info.

    That's correct.

It seems to be out of favor.

Yes, you can just put it in Users/username/Library/Fonts (or Library/Fonts for all users).

  • Fonts from previous Indesign

I recently had my hard drive crash.  I though I had all my fonts backed up, but I didn't.  I've used Univers Lt on several of my documents, and of course this font came from a previous version of ID, but I'm not sure if I can get them off the CD.  Is there any way to get a copy of the fonts from previous version of ID if I have my key?
I'm not sure if I have access to the previous version installation cd.

Even if Adobe had such a facility (to provide downloads of fonts bundled with previous products that you already licensed), it would not help you in this case. No version of Univers has ever been bundled with InDesign or the Creative Suite.
Furthermore, none of the Univers fonts available from Adobe have been labelled as Univers LT. The Univers fonts in OpenType format are of the OpenType Std family. The older Type 1 versions of Univers had names of the form Univers ## where ## was a two digit number associated with the weight of the font. "LT" is the font ID associated with fonts sourced from the Linotype library, but Adobe never licensed fonts labelled as Univers LT.

  • The candara font in italics is turning my words into what looks like another language (it's only happening in the italics version).  Does anyone know how to fix it? (I'm running OSX 10.8.3 on a new iMac

The candara font in italics is turning my words into what looks like another language (it's only happening in the italics version).  Does anyone know how to fix it? (I'm running OSX 10.8.3 on a new iMac and the only change I've made recently is to install MS Office for Mac 2011)

This is what the font turns it into (it's supposed to say Chrysler Building & New York Public Library).  The font came with Pages which is what I'm working in.  It worked before but isn't now.

  • What happened to my old font on my new iMAC?

Recently got a new iMAC to replace a 6 year old iMAC.  I installed the same Adobe CS2 software on both computers.
However, some fonts - Papyrus - for example, that I frequently used on the old iMAC, are missing when I try to view or
use them on the new iMAC.  How, if possible, can I get the missing fonts to work on the new iMAC?  Your instructions
and suggestions would be most welcome.  MANY THANKS!

    George,
I installed the same Adobe CS2 software on both computers.
However, some fonts - Papyrus - for example, that I frequently used on the old iMAC, are missing when I try to view or use them on the new iMAC.
Are you sure those fonts came with the Adobe software?
How, if possible, can I get the missing fonts to work on the new iMAC?
Is it impossible to select the fonts on the old one and copy them to the same location(s) on the new one?
Hopefully, this (counter) question holds the answer.

  • Embedding Fonts in Epub - some don't display on IPad

I know that there are certain fonts that will not display on an epub file displayed on an Ipad. The InDesign file the fonts came from substituted the 2 missing fonts OK except one. If I look in the fonts folder from the epub the font is there it's also in the encryption.xml but I do not see the font displayed on IPad
    btw the font is
    MaturaMTScriptCapitals.otf
    any help?

Sounds like you'll need to manually substitute a compatible iPad font...

  • Importing fonts into InDesign CS3

I have an Macbook with OS10.4.11 and I'm using InDesign CS3. My question is, how do install fonts in my ID that were sent to me from someone else with ID (version not known). I tried installing the fonts in ID's Fonts folder as the help recommends, but they're still listed as missing when I open the file.
Since I'm a newbie, I'll mention that the fonts came in a separate folder, along with an Images folder, the .indd file, and an Instructions.txt file. I believe this means it was "packaged" using ID's File--Package command? Might this make a difference?
    Thanks for the help!

Try installing the fonts into your system using Font Book. Double-click on the font files to open them then click on Install Font in each open preview window.

  • Fonts included with InDesign or the CC or CS bundles?

Is there a list of the fonts that were included in the CC or CS bundles? I used to know where these ints were stored when the apps were installed, but now I don't know where they are. I need a list of which fonts came with the programs.
    Sue Campbell

    Hi Sue,
The CS bundles have documented lists for example: http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/fontinstall/cs6installedfonts.html
CC subscriptions give access to typekit so you could say you have access to all fonts listed here: Full Library | Typekit
    Also see the faq: http://www.adobe.com/products/type/creative-cloud-fonts.html
Does Adobe Creative Cloud come with fonts?
Yes. Every subscription to the Creative Cloud includes Adobe Typekit. Full (paid) Creative Cloud plans and most single-app subscriptions include a Typekit Portfolio plan, which includes hundreds of fonts for both desktop and web. Other Creative Cloud subscriptions also include a selection of fonts for desktop and web use; refer to the subscription requirements for more information.
Do individual Adobe applications come with fonts?
Yes. Any subscription to an individual Adobe application includes a Typekit account. Adobe’s Photography Bundle, which is significantly discounted, includes a selection of fonts for web and desktop with Typekit’s free plan. All other single-app subscriptions include a Typekit Portfolio plan, with hundreds of fonts for web and desktop from Adobe and other type foundries.
Did Adobe take away the fonts it used to bundle?
No. All of the same fonts which used to be installed onto users' computers are available for desktop sync and web use from Typekit — along with hundreds more great typefaces from Typekit’s other foundry partners, available for desktop sync, web, or both.
    Didn’t I buy those fonts?
The license for software which included bundled fonts allows those fonts to be used while the software is installed. That means if you uninstall the software, you are no longer licensed to use the fonts. And if you upgrade, you have a new software license which might grant different rights.
The Adobe Creative Cloud now provides desktop fonts for its users via Typekit. The same set of fonts previously bundled and installed with Adobe applications is now part of Typekit’s Portfolio plan. You are licensed to use the fonts as long as you are a Creative Cloud (or Typekit) subscriber.
But I can't include these font when I use the Package feature!
Because desktop fonts from Typekit are provided by subscription, they cannot be copied and moved by the Package feature (or users). However, any recipient of your document who is also using Creative Cloud can use Typekit to sync the necessary fonts if they don’t already have them installed. In many cases, simply creating a PDF of your document with the fonts embedded is a convenient way to send a document for print output or publishing. (See also Packaging files that use synced fonts.)
Where did my installed fonts go?
No Adobe product installer or uninstaller will remove existing fonts from your computer. Even fonts installed by previous Adobe products, like the Creative Suite, will remain until you move them, delete them, or erase your hard disk.

  • 10.6.5 font question

I have resolved a bunch of font problems I was having since upgrading to 10.6.5 by archiving and installing 10.6 and re-upgrading.
I now have alot more fonts in the computer section and some duplikcates which font book isn't resolving.
    Here is a simple question:
for a font like Courier where I have a font suitcase in user>Library>Fonts
    and a .dfont in System>Library>Fonts
    1) which should I keep - dfont or suitcase?
    2) Should I a) remove from inside FontBook or b) delete from folder in Finder and then rebuild FontBook cache.
    best
    Tommy Banana

My apologies -- I just noticed that I do have some font suitcase files in /Library/Fonts & probably elsewhere & they are supported in OS X. When I check them with Font Book, the "Show Font Info" function says they contain Truetype fonts. I'm pretty sure they are leftovers from the Classic OS days; I've probably discarded the ones not compatible with OS X.
All I can really tell you is the fonts in /System/Library/Fonts generally are best left alone but you will get better advice about this from other users that know more than I do about that subject.
But regarding installing Snow Leopard, it does not do an archive and install -- there is no archive containing deactivated previous versions of OS files & other items like there was with that option in earlier OS versions. A better name for the Snow Leopard version might be "Replace & Install," although that applies only to the new files that come with the OS. Everything else is left in place, except possibly for certain incompatible items that are moved to an "Incompatible Software" folder at the root of the drive.
That might explain where some of your duplicate fonts came from.

  • Required Fonts for Lion

A lot of fonts are installed by Lion, for what I thank Apple but I really want to manage fonts myself and want to turn them on or off as needed (I use FontExplorer 3).
So – which fonts are required to run OS X Lion? Which fonts can be disabled? I know for instance that one of the Japanese/Chinese fonts is used to dusplay the rating stars in iTunes. Had it all setup but now a lot of fonts came installed with Lion. Can I dsiable the same ones as in Snow Leopard?

Keep an eye on this site: Font Basics. They have provided great font info before on both Leopard and Snow Leopard. I feel info on Lion should be there to before too long.
What I've done meanwhile, is disabled all fonts actived with my font manager (FontCase). Then moved all fonts from the following folders to a folder on my desktop: /library/fonts and /users/home/library/fonts.(Be sure to leave /system/library/fonts alone for now!!)
I then imported the fonts I moved to my desktop into FontCase, cleaned font caches and restarted. After restart I actved my basic sets in FontCase again, and all's been working just fine.
    Hope this helps!
