Font change after Leopard OSX installation???

I recently installed Leopard OSX and after I went online for the 1st time after installation, I noticed that on many sites (yahoo, yahoo mail, bing, youtube, etc.) the default(?) font changed from what I believe was Arial, to what looks like (believe it or not) a Brady Bunch style font for certain sections displayed on the page.
I went to the Font Book and Arial is there and isn't disabled, so I'm not sure how to get rid of the new default, and get the original one back. Any clues???
Thanks! ben

  • Font changing after upload

    I am having a problem with a swf file that we are using for a
    splash page for a bands website. It is a simple page with some
    audio and two links. The problem I'm having is the font and the
    sizing of things changed after they were uploaded to the server. I
    tested the file with two different browsers before e-mailing it to
    the production company, and everthing worked fine. Any help would
    be greatly appreciated!
    thanks

    Hi
    This is a very common problem and very easy to fix.
    The problem is that the font your using is not available on
    the machine(s) being used to view the webpage.
    To get round this problem all you have to do is select the
    items in the Flash IDE individually and select Embed
    Choose Uppercase. Lowercase, Numerals and any special
    characters you need.
    Republish and hey-presto Browser content correctly
    formatted.

  • Text font changed after reopening project

    I have one prject which is causing this problem
    I have text in various parts of the movie, but whenever I reopen the project I find that the font has changed, but only with some of the texts.
    The font I am using is Playbill and all the instances of text use that font.
    After closing and reopening the project some of the text instance are correct, but some have changed to different fonts.
    It's always the same instance of text which have changed can anyone help please?

    I expect though that when the bug is finally fixed they will show those fonts (one up or down) that were selected!
    Yes, I hadn't thought about that. It's hard to say.
    My guess is that your font will stay the same, and it will be OK.
    I say that because it looks like these bugs are based on a criss-cross of information between inline rendering & external rendering/export. That's why it only screws it up after you restart.
    So it's like there's an incompetent monkey receiving the information you've set & saving it - who always gets it wrong. Once he's replaced, and he stops "forgetting", it should be right.
    No disrespect to monkeys intended, I love them.

    Make sure the two things available:
    1. Embed fonts option enabled.
         This option is available in Designer->File->Form Properties->Save Options panel
         Important: This will work only for PDF files (not for XDP)
    2. Adobe Reader Extended Languages support font pack installed on the target machine the Hindi font is not installed.

  • Outlook 2007 calendar events font changes after syncing with iTunes

    I use Outlook 2007 on a Windows XP PC. I have no problems syncing Outlook calendar events with my iPhone 4 other than for one highly annoying detail. My default font in Outlook is set to Times New Roman 12 pt. Whenever I sync, all of my calendar events' text in Outlook is changed from Times New Roman 12 pt. to Calibri 11 pt., and sometimes more recently, to Arial 10 pt.
    It's driving me nuts as I find Calibri to be hideous-looking. In addition to the font change, all other special formatting such as bold and italics are removed.
    Has anyone experienced this before or know what's going on? Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

    Has no one experienced this issue? I can't understand why this happening. It's been almost two months since I posted this.
    To reiterate: After syncing with iTunes (the newest version), all custom text formatting in Outlook 2007 calendar events are changed to Calibri 11 point, and sometimes more recently, to Arial 10 point. My default font is set to Times New Roman 12 point.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Font smaller after leopard 10.6.8 update

    I have always had my resolution at 1680x1050, but my font seemed smaller after the 10.6.8 update.  Has this happened to anyone else?  How can I fix it.  It affected all of the applications and system menus.  What can I do to fix this issue?

    This has been reported several times.
    Globally, you can change the screen resolution in System Preferences > Displays (go to a smaller set of numbers). If this takes you away from the native resolution for the monitor, the results may not be the best.
    Otherwise -
    There is nothing that can be done about the font size in menus.
    However, you can increase the size of the font used for filenames (names of files and folders, and info in Finder views set to List). To do that for the Desktop, for example, click on a bare patch of Desktop to make it active, then press Command-J which will open the View Options window for the Desktop. In the middle of that screen is a pulldown menu you can use to make the font larger. This is a live action, meaning the change will happen immediately.
    Unfortunately this is not a global change, so you would need to do the same for individual folders as needed. One thing that makes doing that easier is that the View Options window is a relative one - meaning if you leave the initial one open and then open a folder, the settings in the View Options window will now pertain to the contents of that folder.

  • How to change resolution during OSX Installer?

    I'm trying to upgrade from 10.4 to 10.5 and when I boot from the DVD the resolution looks like 800X600. Why? My 10.4 installation is using 1280X1024.
    I can't do anything with the installer because the application isn't smart enough to scale itself. I can't view or navigate to any of the buttons because they're off the screen.
    Does anyone know how to change the resolution via terminal or some other method or know how to navigate the installer via keyboard?

    Actually, that doesn't tell us much since there are quite a few different G4 Macs. It might be important to know which one, but assuming this is a "Pro" type tower, the problem may be that it is filled with some video card other than what Apple supplied as OEM parts & as a result there is not complete driver support for the card on the DVD's version of OS X.
    As an aside, this demonstrates why it is so important for Discussions users to fill in the "Computer Model" & related system info in their settings page with enough info for others to know exactly what Mac is involved. Apple doesn't make this easy with its confusing & inelegant model naming conventions -- it is more than a little ridiculous that some models require a footnote explaining that the season reference in their name is for northern hemisphere seasons! Nevertheless, with so many Mac models in existence, this is often essential information for getting timely, accurate help.

  • Font Changes After WebHelp is Generated in RH10

    I'm having an isssue that is similar to this topic: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4751049 However, my issue is with RoboHelp HTML, not RoboHelp for Word.
    We recently downloaded the trial version of RoboHelp 10 to determine if our help files, which were created in RoboHelp 2000 (possibly, that was before my time, and that is the latest version I was able to identify on a CD here) could be updated. Everything works great, except that when I generate WebHelp or HTML Help, some topics appear in Times New Roman. Based on the applied CSS file and the way that the project looks in RoboHelp, everything should be in Arial.
    I have re-applied the CSS file to all topics, checked to make sure the appropriate style was being applied to the text in the topics that were showing up incorrectly, and tried applying the default and other CSS files.
    I'm using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 to view the WebHelp.

    There was a pretty significant paradigm shift starting with RH7 to move to standard HTML and CSS support. This resulted in significant changes to styles and also how you select the styles to apply to paragraphs.
    For example, in RH6 the H1 style was defined twice like so:
    H1 {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    LI.kadov-H1 {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    RH7  changed like so:
    H1 {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    LI.H1 {
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    Possibly the  kadov- part hasn't been removed from the stylesheet. Or perhaps it has been removed from the stylesheet, but not from the topics.
    There is also a topic on Peter Grainge's site (www.grainge.org) that discusses Lists, as these caused a lot of problems on upgrade, so you could read through that for more information as well. I'm unsure if you are familiar with Robohelp, but thought I'd point out that unlike Word, the Style drop-down in the toolbar only displays paragraph and character styles - to see all possible styles (like list styles) you need to use the Style Pod (unless this has changed recently - I have up to RH8 available to me).
    Another option is to create a brand new stylesheet so you can compare the imported stylesheet with the native RH10 stylesheet - be wary of implementing all the differences though, as some of your choices will depend on the HTML code in the topics as well.
    Hopefully some of this will help you with your issue though,
    Amber

  • Font Changes after export

    Hi there,
       am going with a small problem here,
       in my report am displaying some HINDI fonts which is displayed perfectly during the report load, but when i export it to PDF and  WORD formats the font is changing to square boxes,
       but its coming fine when i export it into excel file....
      can anybody get me some solution for this
      any help will be greatly appreciated
      Regards
      Nayeem.....

    Hi Nayeem,
    You need to use a UNICODE font and one that is not Licensed, CR will not embed licensed fonts into PDF files. Odd that it doesn't work in Word though.
    Not sure what OS you are using but in XP go into Control Panel, Regional and Language Options and click on the Advanced tab and check on the option to Apply all setting to.... in the default user account area. Then go to the Languages tab and check on the option to Install Files for east asian languages. We have a dependency on that option as of R2. It adds about 10 meg of files so you'll need your Windows CD.
    Thank you

  • Screen becomes blurry (font change) after java starts?

    Using java 5.0xx, when any java application starts, it chagnes my screen font. and as a result the text becomes blurry, its almost like its using truetyoe fonts. Is there any reason for this, or to prevent this?

    Thanks for the reply..
    I used your tool and it seems my jnlp file is ok ..(nothing in red)
    I have actually identified the problem and it seems after update to java 6 update 14.. I am not able to access any resources
    Here the function that reads a .csv file
    private int readStateMapData(String theAbName) {
    .............................//lines deleted

    String ID = st.nextToken();
    String name = st.nextToken();
    if (name.equals(theAbName)) { stateID = ID; break; }
    in.close();
    if (stateID == null) return STATE_NOT_FOUND;
    } catch (MalformedURLException me) { return BAD_STATECODE_FILE; }
    catch (IOException ie) { return BAD_STATECODE_FILE; }
    I already have a logic built into my program that displays and error message and it shows "cannot read state code file"
    These files are inside my jar. Again if I uninstall java 6 update 14 webstart works fine ..What should I do ??

  • Captivate 4: Font Changing After Publish

    I am having an issue that I just cannot seem to resolve and I think I have tried everything. When view the published training the font in some of the caption boxes is changing both in style and size. I have tried to delete the caption and recreate it from scratch, recreating the slide itself from scratch, using select all in the caption and changing the font, and removing the check from the anti-aliasing on transparent captions. Nothing seems to be working an I ever tried switching to AS2 and still no change. Below are screenshots of the correct Font Myrid Pro 13 and the unknown incorrect font. Has anyone ever experienced this issue in the past?

    Hello,
    Did see that you inserted a variable. There were indeed quite a lot of issues with inserted variables in a Text Caption in CP4. One possible solution is: try to make a TC with only the variable and position it on the other Text Caption.

  • Default font change after upgrade

    I'm NOT very technical....Downloaded most recent upgrade (10.6.8 I think)..Font/text and size changed for everything. How do I restore pls.

    Hi, Bob -
    Does this also apply to various websites I access?
    No - the items I mentioned apply only to Finder views, meaning to items on the Desktop and open folders.
    The chosen font and size of font in a browser is controlled from within the browser (as is true for most every program). If you are using Safari, open its Preferences (in the Safari menu in the main menubar), click Appearance in the header. In the new screen you can change the defaults. Howevrer, it is not unusual for a webpage itself to override those settings.
    Other programs often (but not always) have similar adjustments available.
    Things you can do if webpages and other things remain too small -
    • In most browsers, pressing Command + (Command and the + key, which on the short keyboards is the = key (meaning do not add Shift)) will increase the size of the text displayed on the page. This is a step up function, so subsequent presses will increase it further. To reduce the text size, press Command -
    • You can use Screen Zoom, which is always available by default (it can be turned off in the Mouse pane in System Preferences). To use Screen Zoom you need to have a Magic Mouse; if you do, hold down the Control key and use the finger-gesture for scroll up (stroke away from you). This will enlarge the entire screen display, centered more or less on the location of the cursor. To bring it back, hold down the Control key and use the scroll-down finger-gesture (stroke toward you).
    • You can also activate the Zoom feature in the Universal Access pane in Stsrem Preferences; in that pane click the Seeing item near the top to switch to that page.
    • Check the resolution setting for the display in System Preferences > Displays - it may have got changed from what it should be. What the default is depends on your model, mainly the screen size.

  • Web page composer (wpc) font changes after copy from word

    We are using the wpc for publishing news,
    I created a font in css and it works fine,
    except when I copy some text from word, then he takes the font from word and not the css.
    Anybody knows what I can do?
    Edited by: Niki Vandersteen on Jul 30, 2009 9:50 AM

    Hi,
    In WPC, if you are not refering any CSS explicitly, then the WPC refer the default CSS stored at
    /etc/wpceditor / css / runtime / ...CSS .
    So if you want to keep your styles then either cretae those styles in a seprate CSS file and refer that CSS file.
    OR create those styles in the default CSS files and refer those styles for the desired text.
    Hope it will help you.
