Font changed in photo captions

hi
excuse me if this has been covered ad nauseum, but you'll probably sense pretty quickly i'm new to this.
i was adding captions to a batch of photos, and i copied and pasted a bunch of ids from a web page.
iphoto seems to have adopted the font from the web-sourced ids — a 12 or 14-point black face font — as its default setting. every new picture not has that font in the 'description' box.
how can i get the old nice, white face back?
thanks

I've not been able to reproduce your problem. Backup and launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed to rebuild the library. Select the last three options.
Launch iPhoto and check the Info/description field again to see if the font has returned to the default Helvetica Neue.

  • Changing photo caption fonts

I am using the template elegance with photos. I want to change the font of the image captions from italics to regular and change the color to black so the lettering shows up better. Can this be done globally, or do I have to change the captions one at a time?
    Thank you.

oh jim! you are a perfectionist!
here is a quote from sboben who makes templates at http://11mystics.com ! she says:
Jean that's one of the things you can't change yet using the iWeb interface. There are a few of those elements on various pages like that. They can be changed in the template XML, but that's a very technical process that requires messing with core application files.
so, if she finds it difficult jim, then is suggest you make text-boxes yourself! you could also try this link and fiddle with .css files:

  • In iPhoto  how do I open Photo Grid to change number of caption lines?

In iPhoto  how do I open Photo Grid to change number of caption lines?

In iPhoto '11 you can only display two lines below the thumbnails of your photos when you browse an event or an album, the titles and the ratings. The title will be truncated, if it does not fit into the single line. From the iPhoto help:
To show title and rating information below photos:
Click to select Photos in the Source list.
Choose View, and then choose the information you want to view:
    Titles
    Rating
The information field you chose appears below your photos.
To hide this information, choose View, and then choose the information you want to hide.

  • Globally changing selected parts of photo captions

Is there a way to make batch changes to parts of photo captions? Something like "find and change" in word processing software.
For instance, I accidentally had the time setting wrong on my camera so that AM was PM and vice versa. I would like to change the AM to PM without affecting the actual time associated with images. This will be very tedious if I have to do it manually...

    Hi Dave,
Oh, so you have been appending the batch change entries -that explains it.
The "Title" field can be batch changed like any other field, only you have to find and to select a suitable Metadata Preset that contains the "Title" field.
I have changed my presets so often, that I am no longer sure, if one of the standard presets contains this field, but you can easily define your own preset, containing all fields you want to edit.
In the Metadata tab of the Inspector Panel set the "Metadata View" selector to "Edit",
In the "Metadata Views" panel click the cogwheel to add a new view and name it,
From the right column of the panel add the "Title" tag to the  new View (this tag is located in the IPTC -> Status section of the Metadata Fields.
Then use this new preset in the "Batch Change" dialogue.

  • Lightroom 5.0 on Windows 7 - Photo Caption problem in Book Module

Using Lightroom 5.0 on Windows 7, I have produced a 76 page book in the Book Module with multiple photos on most pages, but two photos were not showing their captions, and did not print same in a proof PDF print run. I had the photo captions in the Meta Data, but have subsequently entered the pertinent photo caption via Custom Text from the left control panel, and also directly into the photo caption print box without success. I have changed the photo size, without a successful outcome, but when I did an auto cell fill of the photo the caption appeared within the photo, but disappeared when sizing was reduced back. I have exhausted all help avenues at this stage.

Thanks for your input and efforts to assist. I have resisted removing and replacing, as the 1966 passport photo has a lengthy (approx 60) adjustments showing in the history, as a result of its age. Hence I think that I will just have tolerate these somewhat minor, I suppose, aberrations and just send it off to Blurb as is, as restoring so many old photos to a more presentable print status has taken me 3 months as it is.
I don't understand why this a problem. You are removing a page from the book and adding back again. You are not removing the photo from the catalog, therefore you would not loose you are adjustments. Books are just another way of rendering photos.

  • IE 10 Will not update photo captions.

Hi I have updated to IE 10 BUT when I view photos from a web site the photos change but the captions do not.
It worked with IE 9 and works with Firefox and Torch but not IE 10 this is a bit annoying when I am trying to vote for my favourite photo. Also it does not open links from a Google search in new tab as it did before.
It did work with IE10 before I installed IE11 then after I had issues with IE11 went back to IE10 and now it does not update the captions also it does not open links from a Google search in new tab as it did before even though I have set Tabs up
in internet options to do just that open a link in a new Tab.
I am running Win 7 Home Premium SP1.
Looks like I am leaving Microsoft and going to use Firefox form now on.

    Hi Yolanda,
I have rolled back to IE 9. I tried to post the link in my first post but was not able to due to me not being... something I can’t remember. I am still having the same problems with IE 9 and
have been all over the internet looking for answers to these problems with IE 10 & IE 9 to no avail and by all the posts on many many sites including the many Microsoft sites there are more people having these same problems than people not having problems.
So I am now, after more than 15 years, going to abandon Microsoft and Internet Explorer for
Mozilla Firefox it seems more stable than IE. <o:p></o:p>
So thank you for taking the time to answer but I have had enough with Microsoft not fixing there problems. Oh I did ring the service centre here in Australia, where the call centre is I don’t
know, and the guy told me it's my hardware but with all these other people having the same problem I don't believe that.<o:p></o:p>

  • How do I link Photo Title and Photo Caption in iPhoto Book

When using the yearbook template in iPhoto I have found that the Title is not linked to the photo Captions are linked most of the time, so if I move a photo I have to reset all the titles. How can I link them?

    hi Jim,
Are the titles that are not moving ones that you gave the photos while you were in the book mode?
I was just wondering if you gave the titles to the photos in the library view if it would work differently.
Ok, I just tested it. Before you make the book, give all the photos the correct titles and comments if any. Now highlight that album and choose to create a book. The titles and comments will move with the images this way.
I also tested an image that was already placed in the book and it had a title that it was imported as. I changed the title in the library view, went back to the book and moved the photo. The title that I just gave it in the library view moved with the photo.

  • Photo Caption Length Limit?

I like to use sometimes lengthy [probably 2-3 sentences max] captions with photos, and can't find a way to do it with iWeb.
There seems to be a built-in limitation, regardless of text size/placement. I would rather avoid the blog idea where you have to show one picture, then write your text, then show another etc., as I want to post galleries of pictures.
Any suggestions? I haven't found a service yet with .mac or anyone else that seems to allow editing of galleries for placement, and yet also long enough [more than one sentence on average] captions.
    Thanks!
    G5 Dual 2G   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   1.75G Ram

Thanks for the specifics--and I tried that...but short of making the font so small it's unreadable, I don't think that works. As for captions being...well...captions, let me give you an idea what most photo captions are like length-wise:
"German midfielder David Odonkor, left, and forward Lukas Podolski pose as they celebrate with fans at the 'Fan Mile' in Berlin on Sunday July 9, 2006. Thousands of German soccer fans celebrate their team after Germany beat Portugal 3-1 at the third place match of the soccer World Cup on Saturday."
Breaking up the photos so that more text can be entered inbetween doesn't then tie the specific caption to each photo. It just seems pretty obvious to me--and simple, in terms of programming--to allow the user to set how big [in character numbers] we want the associated text to be, instead of just the apparent rudimentary space they allow now.
After searching for a program that would allow this--from iDisk/.mac to Flikr etc., I thought iWeb would be the answer--but apparently not.
When Apple touts itself as being so photo-supportive, with all of it's software--I don't know why none of the applications supports more than minimal text per photo. They've advanced to photo-casting, etc., but if I want to attach what I deem to be regular-sized captions, I have to resort to the very old-fashioned, time-consuming embedded email methods to send them out to others.

  • Title fonts change when published

I have been making a site based on the white template. It has a picture in the header. When I alter the page title (e.g. change colour) the font changes to small hardly readable text wjwhen published, even though it looks fine in iWeb (and was fine prior to changing the font colour).
Can anyone help? Is it because of having the jpeg in the header part? There is no overlap of images and the page title.
    Thanks

Try dragging the photo out of the header, deleting the text and redoing it in the color of your choice and then putting the photo back.
Save and do a "publish all" and make sure you empty your browser cache before viewing the changes in Safari.
This covers three trouble shooting steps at once and may save you time in the long run.

  • How to change the closed caption display in cc 2014

Hi since the new CC update they the option to change the closed caption seems to be removed. Currently it is set to teletext level 1. But i would like to change this to CEA-708. In the older version of cc u could change this by clicking the program monitor settings but this option is no longer available.
The adobe site stats Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Closed Captioning  "You can select the captioning standard for a caption clip loaded in the Source Monitor. In the Source Monitor panel pop-up menu, select Closed Captioning Display > Settings. For example, you can select CEA-608, CEA-708, CC1, CC2, and so on. You can toggle the Closed Caption display on and off."
But this button is now gone.
    Any help?

The button icon you show above is for enabling/disabling closed captions display. To access the Program Monitor's Settings menu, click the wrench icon to the left of the Duration display.
If you want the Closed Captioning Display button back, click the plus sign in the monitor's bottom right corner and drag the button to the button bar.

  • How do I change the photo which is part of my Apple mail ID?

I have just recently become more familiar with my two email addies attached to my Mac stuff. I have been using my email addy @iCloud.com and @me.com and keep seeing that my email has a photo added to it which I want to change. Originally I added a photo (somehow...was really not knowing what I was doing I guess) and am definitely not able to figure out how I did that. So now when I text or email using the Apple stuff, people see the photo I added but it is one that I think I want to change. I have been trolling around trying to find where this photo might be located but so far no luck. Is anyone able to help me with this? I took a grab of the window with the photo showing so it could explain for me what I am asking about. It is the photo of the girl you can see there that is attached to my Apple stuff and I am thinking I want to change it since that is not me...:-)
Thanks, I am sure this is not a big deal.
I just don't seem to know where to find that setting that can edit or change that photo choice.
    Feeling kind of dumb.

It is very interesting that there are so many different ways to do some things on Mac and not much of it is out where it is easy to find out about...but sometimes just "fiddling" seems to work well...
The user image and the contact image are two different things. You can get to your Me card from the Users & Groups, but you can have a different image on your account image and on your Contact card.
Again, neither of which are sent with your emails, unless you attach your contact card.
but I went to System and on in and then double clicked on my name there as the user, that brought up an address book
Where exactly did you double-click on your name? I wasn't aware of this so I was trying to duplicate it. I can't get my Contact card in any way except for clicking on the Open... button on my account info in Users & Groups. I can't find a way to double-click a name and have it open Contacts.

  • I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  I was given the choice of small, medium or large the first time I took a picture.  Now I have no idea how to change it to medium.  Can anyone help?

I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  The first time I took a pic it asked if I wanted smalll,  medium or large and listed the pixels.  I chose small but am now finding that is too small.  Can anyone help me set it to medium now?  I can't find any setting for that.  I'm a newby to iPhones and have no idea what I'm doing.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

By "sending" do you mean sending email?
If so, what app are you using to take the photos on your iPhone 5? Or are the photos from a different source (saved to your Camera Roll from somewhere else, like a web page or Messages)?
My guess is that Mail gives you the option to send different file sizes when it detects you are trying to Mail a really large photo file. The size of photos on the iPhone 5 is really big and some email providers may stop your mail from being delivered if attachments are too large. Thus, Mail tries to help you by offering to resize the photo.
I suspect that if you are sending smaller files, Mail does not bother giving you options to save a smaller version. In fact, I have seen this behavior. So, if the photo is already "small enough", it gets sent as-is.
To my  knowledge, there is no global iOS setting for this. Some apps may have different rules, of course.

How do I change a photo's date in iPhoto '11 9.2.3?!?  I've been able to do it before through the "info" link, but don't have that option in this latest version...?  It messes up my chronological event files when people have their camera date set wrong and I can't fix it!  Thanks for any ideas you can provide.
