Font changes on Blog main page

Hi everyone!
Does any of you know if it is possible, on iWeb Blog main page, to modify the other posts than the first one ? I lowered the size of the text in my posts when editing them, but when appearing on the main page of the blog, they get bigger and it is impossible to edit then.

IWeb Podcast Blog: Main Page Only Allows 5 Episodes: Submitting to iTunes

Hello-
I have a podcast published with iWeb '08's podcast blog. I noticed that the main page of the podcast only shows previews of 5 episodes that you can click on. I know that you can easily change this with the inspector, but I don't want to have to many on the main page which will cause long page loading times. The problem is, in the RSS feed, it only shows the five episodes on the main page. I submitted this RSS feed to the iTunes store and got it accepted, but, just as I suspected, iTunes only shows the episodes in the RSS feed. *Is there a way to get a RSS feed for the archive of my podcast? If so, how can I change the feed iTunes has?* Could I just insert a RSS feed button on the archive page? Would that work?

If you go to the podcast page and use the inspector, clicking the RSS button at the top of the inspector window, then click blog you will see that it allows you to change the number of episodes shown on the main page. Could it be this?

Irregular spacing between entries on main page (BLOG.html)

Hi--
Why does the spacing between entries on the main BLOG page (blog.html) differ according to how long the entry is?
If the 'header sections' are the same size, why is their appearance on the main blog 'index page' different sizes?
I.e., if the contents of an entry exceed the template size, there is excessive blank space below that entry's header and the previous entry(below)--even if the 'header sections' are the same size.
Is anyone from Apple on these forums???

At last...something I know an answer to...
when you are in iweb and have the blog main page open click on inspector and the the RSS tab.
Select blog from the blog / podcast options and then the number of excerpts to show option is there, the excerpt length option is another great feature.

IWeb blog main entries

I am a new user. I created a web site with a blog and published to mac. I created multiple entries, and set up 5 excerpts to be displayed on the blog main page. It looks good on the iWeb. After I published, there are no entries on the main page. I have to go to archive to see the entries. Please help. Thanks.

Welcome to the discussions, amos.
Where's your site? Chances are, you went to your site right after you created it, then that info got stored in your local cache. The next time you went there, your computer is getting the information from the local cache because it's faster. However, the local cache still has the old information in there.
Try holding down option as you reload the page OR placing a question mark at the end of your url. Both should force the page to load from the web instead of your cache.

Font goes gray on main blog page...

My entries become a monotone color on the main blog page. Underlined font, doesn't get displayed as underlined on the main page. Anyone know how to fix this? Ideally I just want people to be able to read my blog on the main page without having to click "read more"--so I display the whole article length on the main page. Any tips on this and other subjects related to displaying your whole blog on the main page would help.

You've got me with the length slider, please tell me where I'm supposed to be looking, this would be helpful to me. But the reason I am a little lost is that you said you want the whole entry in your main blog page and complaining because you couldn't do it, now you say you can.
Also, I don't doubt you have seen websites with non linked text underlined, but that doesn't mean it is proper protocol.

How to change the color of blog titles on blog archive page?

So while I'm waiting for apple to fix iweb's publishing problem, I might as well do a revamp of my site in the meantime.
One thing I've been itching to change, but can't is the color of the blog titles on the main blog archive page? They show up in red, even when I change the color on the actually blog entry page to blue. Can anyone please help?

Change blog start page - is it possible?

Hi all.
I have a blog going, started it in iWeb 1.0. However, the template is looking a little tired and limited and I quite fancy changing it to one of the new ones. I've stared at the programme for a while, but nothing's coming to me on how to do it. Is it possible? Is it simple (like me)?

Hahaha....Sorry to break it to you this way!.... You know how when you are on your very first (earliest) blog entry and you hit "Previous" the link actually takes you back to the main blog index page because there are no previous or earlier entries? Well, now you can change that one link in your new blog to point at your old blog to make the transition seamless... haha. Believe me, I know about homepages and mothers, fathers, and wives! Good luck!

Some photos don't appear in the blog's main page

All the entries in my blog include a photo and almost always a small version of the picture appears in the blog's main page. Sometimes the small picture does not appear, although it shows up in the individual entry containing the photo. You can see what I mean in the Hacienda Magueyes entry in http://web.mac.com/jamarimutt/Blog/index/index.html
Any suggestions to have the small photos consistently appear in the main page? I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Josemari ~ One possible explanation is that instead of dragging that Hacienda Magueyes image over the Placeholder image to replace it, you instead removed the Placeholder image and simply dragged the image onto the page — in which case it won't appear in your blog's main page.

.pages .pdf font change

I created a newsletter in pages and I need to send it as a PDF via email. The newsletter looks great in pages, but when I export it to a PDF, the font changes (it becomes larger and bolder). Anybody seen this before?

The problem is most probably due to the font used and you have still said not which it is and what type of font.
If you have installed other applications there is also a strong possibility there are multiple versions of the same font on your system. Word for instance installs truetype versions of system fonts with exactly the same names.
You will need to resolve any such conflicts using either OSX's Font Book or a 3rd party font manager.

I have changed the settings for my main page so that it's set for Google and it is still pulling on yahoo. I also unistall firefox and re installing it and the same problem persists. What can I do?

I also tried restoring it to the default settings, put in other websites as main page but yahoo is still coming up as the main page. I have downloaded yahoo's toolbar a few months back and have unistalled it a few weeks ago but still nothing has changed.

Check in Add-ons to see if you have any toolbars installed:
[[Uninstalling add-ons|Uninstalling add-ons]]
Because the Ask Toolbar (a custom version I think) is sometimes installed (or offered to be installed) with other programs, such as Foxit Reader.

If you want to change the fonts of the entire page then this code will do the trick:

     font-family: whatever, goes, here;
If you want to change the fonts of ALL tables on a page then the code is something like this:
table {
    font-size: 20pt;
    font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace;
    font-style: italic;
    font-weight: bold;
what exactly do you want to change? Can you be a bit specific so that Ben or Ken can give you the exact code and tell you about the short-hand method to write the code in one line.
Have you bought a book on CSS yet? If not, it is a good idea to get one as a reference. Eric Meyer writes good books on CSS.

Font changing halfway down page

On PCs, my font changes from andale mono to Times New Roman after the first text box. So the top half of my pages are in andale mono, which is what I want, but the rest is in Times New Roman, which I don't. Someone suggested that there is a 'paragraph 2' default, which I would need to change. But I can't find any reference to this anywhere. Does anyone know how to do this? Or could it be some other problem? Everything displays fine on my mac. Thanks very much.

I've sorted it now: what I did was to make all the text boxes links to the page they're on, which someone suggested on allaboutiweb. For anyone else with the same problem, you:
1. select the text box itself (not the text)
2. go to inspector
3. click 'make hyperlink'
4. click 'one of my pages'
5. select the page the text box is on.
That's it. God alone knows why this should work, but it does.

I changed my main page to Outlook. Now as soon as Firefox comes up and Outlook starts, it freezes. I cannot even get to the Firefox options to reset them.

I had made some changes to Firefox this morning, including changing the start-up page to Outlook. Now as soon as Firefox comes up and Outlook starts, it freezes. I cannot even get to the Firefox options to reset them.

To start Firefox up with a blank page with a blank page instead of your home page, you can type or paste the following in the "Run" dialog, or maybe in the charms bar search box (I haven't tested that):
firefox.exe "about:blank"
I'm not sure why Outlook.com -- which should redirect to the Live Mail login page if your previous session cookies have expired -- would freeze Firefox.

Trying to change my Blog page

I started a blog when I got to Afghanistan, and I want to change the blog to a different layout. I am not seeing where I can do this. Does anyone know how to copy my old blog to my new one with all the entries? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You could just start your new blog with the new layout, and manually make a link at the top that points to the old blog, like it's an archive.
That might not be acceptable to you, but I just did it for one of my blogs.
