Font Corrupted in System Password Dialogs

Yesterday the font used in the system password dialog boxes changed from normal to A's within a box. It is only happening with one user account on this computer, the other is fine. Anyone know of a way to fix this? Thanks.

Reinstall 10.5.0, repair permissions, and restart.

I used a modified personal.rsp and dbca.rsp to install Oracle 9.2 personal and a DB on Win2k/XPp, but despite the "-slient" flag, I get a dialog prompting for the sys, system passwords in the end.
How can I avoid this? Are there (undocumented) parameters for dbca.rsp which allow to avoid the dialog?

Use below command and you no need to pass userid/password. It works for all versions.

What Font is used as the default LabView System and Dialog Font on a windows?

What font is used as the default LabView System and Dialog font on a Windows system?
Can I use the default system and dialog font in another software (i.e; Win word or Illustrator etc.)

For Windows XP, the font is Tahoma. I don't know if Windows has a method for changing this (I thought it would be in the display settings, but couldn't find it). Maybe in the registry?

My lock screen just shows a black background and a User Name/Password dialog after opening the screen from sleep. How do I get it back to where it blurs my desktop image with the dialog and my account image displayed?

I'm not sure when it began, but now my Macbook Air only shows a black background and a User Name and Password dialog box when I wake it from sleep. It used to show my desktop background blurred with my user name and icon displayed with only a text field for entering my password. I'm currently using Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1) and all updates have been done. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know this isn't a real problem, just an annoyance since I couldn't find how to change it back in the System Preferences.

I just have to point out that after looking at a related post (https://discussions.apple.com/message/22661092#22661092), it brought to memory that my issue most certainly began happening after I added some DoD certificates to the keychain. This obviously has something to do with it, but it still leaves me wondering what actually causes this to happen. :/

Can't accept any password dialogs in KDE [PARTIALLY SOLVED]

Hi,
Since my last upgrade (yesterday, hadn't updated for a week), im having problems to enter any password inside KDE's password dialogs (kdesu, kwallet, kontact, kopete....)
The passwords just type in fine, but the "accept" button, or pressing enter wont do anything. The password dialog just stays there.
Using Arch x86_64.

As said in the bug report, you can use a workarround to fix this by disabling the "3 star input" option in system settings.

R&R 4.10 no Password dialog box displayed when recovering a Backup

Hello all,
I am using a T61 8898-6dg with XP and r&r 4.10.314
After reinstalling the system from a XP CD I tried to reinstall an R&R backup from a network share.
R&r starts well showed me the backup files and all the files included in the backup. So I was able to select the files I want to recover and the recovery process starts.
Because the backup is secured by a password, a dialog box should appear and asking for the password. But now, r&r stops and nothing happens. I think it is waiting for the password. But I cannot see an dialog box for entering a password. Even pressing the Alt and Tab keys to bring the dialog box to the foreground don’t help.
In the rr.log file, I found the following entry:
Sat May 10 12:27:36 2008 RescueRecovery: Running: C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Lenovo\mnd\mapdrv.exe *
Sat May 10 12:27:42 2008 RescueRecovery: No user found to display dialog '2', waiting...
The same problem I have with r&r 4.20
Any hint what I can do to be able to enter the password?

when the magic mouse is not connected it seems to work fine, I usually click the trackpad and the system prompts me for a password - I enter my password and go back to work.
However every time the problem has occurred I have left the computer with the magic mouse connected, when I return I move the magic mouse, the screensaver stops "moving" but I don't see the prompt for my password, it's almost as if the password dialog is behind the screen saver.

Help!! Menu Font corrupted after after upgrading P...

Hi all,
Pls help.
I've just upgraded the PR1.2 over the air.
It was done very smooth during and right after the upgrade.
When I switched off and on again the phone, all the menu font corrupted.
e.g.
Inside menu.
"All" -> now "ai_category_all"
"desk" -> now "ai_category_desk"
etc.
I add screen capture.
When I go to the "system setting", and check the "language and region", I found there is no language.
Since i installed some Chinese app right before upgrade, I am guessing whether this app corrupts some system file.
Could any of you expert help..?

I upgraded my imac to yosemite and now my kodak printer won't work. I have figured out how to fix this problem by reading through the community post but now need my system password to proceed. However I have forgotten it and not sure how to reset it. Can someone please help me. Needed to use my printer.

Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box under “Select user account”.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click  in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.

I have a macbook pro (retima) laptop. I'm running OSX 10.7.4 - it's fully up to date.
Here's my about info:

Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E2620)
So here's my issue I have the screensaver set to start automatically, and for it to require a password to stop it.
If I have the bluetooth magic mouse connected and I leave my desk for a bit, then (often, but not all the time) when
I return the password dialog does NOT appear, so basically I have a laptop that is running, the screensaver is on and I cannot unlock it..
so my only choice is to do a hard power down.
This happens quite often.

How can I use the password dialog to start an application ? I mean, the procedure to call the dialog first, if user/pass are correct then start the main program.

k, but what if the password has been lost or corrupted ?
I have a WL5.1 server converted to 6.1 (using console) and I corrupted
the converted system password. I cannot start the 6.1 version of the
server unless I reset the password to something known. The other
solution is to redo the convertion of the original 5.1 server.if the password has been lost or corrupted, I think redoing the entire
conversion would be the only option.
we need to know the old password before allowing a change....
its a good practice to change the password as soon as the conversion was
done...

An install request for a new helper app appeared, I entered my system password to download the app. Since then safari will not open. It just comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report. I have tried logging on as a Guest but it does the same.

I have a MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemit. MY safari will not open, it only comes up with a safari quit unexpectedly report. A new helper app appeared requesting my system password to download the helper. Stupidly I input the password, when I log off I can see the download icon for a split second still running asking to abort or continue. How do I sort this?

If you have another browser installed, use it.
If not, launch App store and get another browser for temporary use.
Remove it afterwards.

We are installing AirParrot to our iMac (it mirrors our computer on our TV), but we are not getting sound. In order to install an audio driver, we are asked to type in our system password. If we do this, will we be compromising our computer security? TY
