Font Error help

Tying to open new pdf files in Adobe, getting error message
Cannot find or create font 70,Bold some characters may not display or print correctly.
Im on the latest version.
Any help or fixes.

I am in desparate need of help. I am trying to print screen from my Explorer browser from a SCT Banner financial program so that I can document steps in setting up university grant accounts. I keep getting this error message on my desktop and it closes the browser. The computer techs at the university are unable to solve this problem. It seems to only happen to those who run Windows XP.
I need a solution asap.

Has the vendor certified their app to run on the configuration that you are using?
If so it is their problem.
If not it is yours.
You can try loading a more recent version of java but that might not fix it and might make it worse (ie other things might stop working.)
Font errors are usually due a combination of video card, video driver and OS. Sometimes updating the video driver can help.

Cannot extract fonts error message even after fonts outlined

will not allow me to attach screen shot from grab. Image not allowed is error message

Grab saves files to tif format, you need a web format (jpg, png, gif) to post to these format. Rather than grab use preview app.
preview application >> file >> take screen shot >> save as file type png
Now the cannot extract fonts error, could be fixed possibly by an illustrator free update, don't know the verison you are on

Reset your illustrator your prefs.
Does this happen to all files, or is this just a certain file. You may have a font in a symbol or opacity mask.
Save a copy of the document, keep deleting items, unitl the error goes away. This will identify the problem item, of which we better help you by narrowing the variables down.

After Effects CC "Unable to Create Font" error fix?

Can some one help me with this complicated problem?
My After Effects CC 2014 won't work due to "Unable to create font" error.
Error appears when in the project footage is missing. When footage is found it runs perfectly fine.
What's the solution?
I'm running Windows 7 64Bit

Footage - I mean Product pictures imported from Photoshop. No odd file names.
Error appears on every project I have when I remove footage. *(replace product shot in photoshop for example)

A lot of people post questions or frustrations about missing font errors in FrameMaker. FrameMaker reports missing fonts because it can be a big expensive deal if you miss the mistake when going to press.

Fixing the Missing Fonts Error This information is courtesy of Tim Murray. The Problem <ul><li>You open a Frame file and the console reports that a font was not found, so another was substituted.</li> <li>You cannot generate a book because Frame tell you it can't properly open all the files.</li></ul> Load the font This is the obvious fix. "Don't care" solution In this solution, you are positive you never used the font, but even if you did, the substitution FrameMaker provides would be okay anyway. <ol><li>Close the file.</li> <li>Turn off the "Remember Missing Font Names" preference.</li> <li>Open the file (you will get the error again) and save. </li> <li>The next time you open the file, the message will be gone.</li></ol> "Programmed" solution Here you want to substitute the missing font for one that is different than the choice FrameMaker provides. <ol><li>Turn off the "Remember Missing Font Names" preference</li> <li>Exit FrameMaker.</li> <li>In a text editor (notepad.exe), open the maker.ini file.</li> <li>Edit the ini line "DefaultFamily=". Instead, you can simply Shift+click or Ctrl+click the files you want (and a Ctrl+A, in Windows, selects the whole list). In FM6 and earlier, press Enter. In FM7, right-click > Open. Each file will open (but, of course, you may have to acknowledge missing font messages). Missing fonts error even though fonts installed

Hi,
At work we use Gill Sans as our corporate font. These fonts have been installed in Windows (and I can see them in Control Panel > Fonts). Yet, when I open a file with these fonts I get a Missing Fonts error with Gill Sans font missing. My colleagues don't get this error, and I have checked that the same fonts are installed on their machines. Can anyone help me?

- Is your font appearing in the 'Find Font' dropdown list?
- Is the document you're trying to open one you created yourself or is this coming from some other office?
(If so I'd advise to get a packaged document so you can use the exact fonts initially used and see if that makes a difference)
- What version of InDesign are you running and what version was the publication created in?
It could be that your font is not the exact same one that was used to create the document.

I have tried deleting and resetting printer and re-installing update 6 times. Last update attempt showed none available??? I can’t load the software directly from HP because their only option is to use the software update option on the mac....frustrated!!! Help!!
I get blank pages that just run through the printer and a stats window that just 33% complete and goes no further.

I am going on the guess that an old driver is still installed...
Use Finder Go > go to folder, and go to /Library/Printers and delete the HP folder(s).
Reset the Printing System:

Now, Add the printer in Print & Scan prefs.

Distiller "can't find font" error with MS-Gothic and ArialUnicodeMS

Hi. I'm tried to verify that Distiller (both 9 and XI) and PDF Generator (11.0 SP1) are able to generate PDFs from Postscript files using a variety of fonts. Almost every font that I tried works perfectly fine, but MS-Gothic and ArialUnicodeMS both fail with "can't find font" errors. I've verified font configurations in both Distiller and PDF Generator, and lots of other fonts work fine. I've also verified that the two fonts are installed, enabled, and can be used in other applications (e.g., MS Word). In fact, I can generate PDFs from MS Word documents on the same server that use both of those fonts. I suspect the errors are misleading in that those apps can find the fonts, but are unable to open or use them for some reason. I've been able to replicate this behavior both on Windows Server and Mac OS X.
Has anyone seen behavior like this? Any suggestions on how to get more information out of these Adobe apps to get a better idea what the real error is?

Addirional note: This is a java class within a JavaFX application if that is relevant.
It does seem to be relevant - if I create the same class as part of a Java application rether than a JavaFX application it compiles without error. Is the imported java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment different in the tow cases??

This may sound crazy, but download any free app. This often "shocks" the other apps into working.

I am not getting an errr #. It just says that there are purchases on my ipod, not in my itunes. I transfer all of my ipod purchases into itunes. Then I try an download the new version of my ipod 7.1.1. It still says there are purchases on my ipod touch. So I just hit continue because their are not purchases on my ipod, that aren't in itunes. It extracts the software, and backs up ipod. Then itunes just closes. When I reopen it I get the same message A new iPod software version (7.1.1) is available for the iPod “My" iPodl”. Would you like to update your iPod now? My imac has recently been restored to as new, I have the newest ipod touch, and my version of itunes is also the newest version. The only thing that I can assume is that the problem, is another untested & bad update, from Capn Cook.

Font error in file with no fonts

Here is an oddity... running PS CC 20140730.r.148 on an iMac running OS X 10.9.4. Fonts are being managed by Suitcase Fusion 5.
As stated in the subject, I am getting a font error in a file where there are no fonts, let alone any layers other than the background.
Here is a screenshot of the offending file and the layers palette to show the supposed lack of fonts.
This has happened on a couple of images now. Any thoughts?

I also tried to specify the conditions with service, interface and namespace, but this is only possible if i switch bound to message to yes...
but the error occurs in file adapter... there is no message generated...

I think you are using the IDES system, Can you check the services in SICF transaction. If the service is not activated you activate it again.
In this path you will find in the below path and try to check/activate the services relevant to the WDA stack.

PDF font error

Getting a Font Error when opening a pdf file with Adobe Reader.
All the newest versions of Reader, OSX etc.
The error says missing font Univers-Light
Sometimes Reader crashes.
It turns out this is an Adobe font that I have to pay for???

It's a bit more complicated than that. Some fonts are messed up in 10.6.7. Read this thread:

Follow these steps,
1. Launch Adobe Digital Editions
2. Keeping ADE program active on your screen, Hold Ctrl+Shift+D keys.
- you will get a prompt window to Erase Authorization (ADE 2.0) & Deauthorize (ADE 1.7.2)
- Deauthorize ADE and Re-launch it.
3. Navigate to Help > Authorize Computer (in ADE 2.0) & Library > Authorize ( in ADE 1.7.2, usually you will be prompted to authorize when you launch the program ) .

Getting CoolType invalid font error 'can't fetch cmaps' for font MyriadPro–Regular when adding text box or text callout

Just updated Acrobat X Pro on Mac to v10.1.10
Now if I try to add a text box or a text callout (text box with arrow) I get a popup error saying "CoolType invalid font error 'can't fetch cmaps' for font MyriadPro–Regular"
Any ideas much appreciated.

This is usually caused due to corrupt/ invalid font libraries.
On your Mac, open up 'Font Book' and follow the instructions below:
Hit Cmd + A to select all fonts as shown above
Click on File > Validate Fonts
This will open up the Font Validator that will scan all your fonts and will notify you if there are any corrupt fonts. If you do see any corrupt font libraries, please remove/ delete those fonts from your computer. Then try opening Acrobat and check.
