Font family HELVE missing in adobe

Dear experts,
Th HELVE font family is currently being used in SAPscript which now needs to be converted to adobe form. The adobe designer does not have HELVETICA font. How  I do I add that?  I see some posts that the font file needs to be place in a directory. Any idea where we can get those font files from?
Any helpful answer will be suitably rewarded.
Thanks!

  • Create Exclusive Font Family/Grouping for Photoshop/Adobe Products.

    Hi, I'm new to using fonts as groupings for decals and dingbats.
    I'm using a specific set on a lot of projects. I looked in the help but I could find out how to group fonts into a set, or font family.
    I've been doing it the slow way, typing in the name and searching through but with 21+ sets it's time consuming remembering the names and which ones belong in each set.
    Atm I just write the groupings down with pen and paper to save time.
    Hope someone is nice enough to share this simple trick.
    Cheers,
    Adam

    I can speak only for Windows systems and there I currently know:
    - Air
    - Shockwave Player
    For Photoshop Elements (as example) there exist already the "Adobe Application Manager".
    Flash/Shockwave Player, Adobe Reader and Air should be also updated via "Adobe Application Manager".
    There it should be possible to set for each application, if we want also beta updates if available or not.

  • Fonts Missing in Adobe, Exist in FontBook - Post Yosemite Upgrade

    Working from a company computer. Operating CS5. Our company font family is Museo.
    The problem began immediately after updating the computer to OS X Yosemite. All Adobe programs fail to find the Museo typeface. I was able to bypass the problem in InDesign by placing Museo in the Fonts folder. Photoshop and Illustrator doesn't have such a folder that I can find.
    The fonts are in Font Book and are validated.
    Some other information:
    The fonts appear in the Notes application but NOT in Microsoft Office.
    Other default adobe fonts are missing as well (ex: Myriad Pro, Adobe Caslon, etc)
    Not sure if this has anything to do with the problem, but I noticed Museo in Font Book is OpenType:
    Yet photoshop seems to be looking for TrueType?
    Any ideas on how to get fonts back into Adobe?

    Have you tried re-creating Photoshop preferences:
    To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
    Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
    Important: If you re-create the preferences by manually deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
    Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
    NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here:
    How to Reset Photoshop CS6’s Preferences File | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV

    Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • Message error from Adobe Indesign : Default font Substituted for missing do.

    Hello,
    Message error from Indesign : Default font substituted for missing font
    I am currently using version "Adobe InDesign CS6 Middle East," which normally supports the Arabic language ...
    The problem is that the characters display correctly and others not! Especially this "font" called "MunaPlain", this version was created in 1996. (on the Internet, I could not find a new version!)
    According to research, test... i have found that Mac OS X Lion that causes this error!
    My question is:
    Is that I could uninstall Mac OS X Lion to return to an older version as MAC OS X Leopard?
    Is there an update or plugin indesign for Arabic? (except ScribDoor, because in this case, it is useless)
    Thank you!

    For questions regarding Adobe apps, it is probably really best to ask Adobe or use their forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
    I am amazed that an arabic font from 1996 would work correct anywhere today given the changes in technology that have occurred.  Is it really not possible for you to use a modern Unicode Arabic font for your work?  There are lots of them -- Apple gives you a half-dozen or so.  And there is a list at
    http://www.wazu.jp/gallery/Fonts_Arabic.html
    Whether you can downgrade your os depends on your hardware.  If it came new with 10.7 installed, then it is not possible.

  • Space appearing in name of just one font family member

    Hi, I have a problem with InDesign CS4 adding a space in the name of just one particular style of a font family.
    This is happening with a company's custom-produced corporate typeface. It has a Font Suitcase file (named "XY Com") and four corresponding Type-1 PostScript files (named "XYCom", "XYComBol", "XYComIta" and "XYComBolIta") for the Regular, Bold, Italic and BoldItalic styles.
    For the Regular version, InDesign CS4 lists the name as "XY Com", but for other styles it lists the family as "XYCom" (i.e. without a space in the name).
    So as well as the family is not getting grouped properly in the various menus, ID also gives an error message about the 'missing' font when opening files created in ID2.0 which use the correct (?) name.
    The problem just seems to be happening in ID CS4 (and IIRC in ID CS3, which I had installed briefly). In InDesign 2.0, the font family shows up correctly grouped, as likewise in Font Book, Linotype FontExplorer X, the standard OS X font selection dialog, etc.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Stewart.
    ID CS4 v6.0, OS X v10.5.5.

    Eric, thanks for the suggestions. I have tried deleting those files and clearing the font caches but the problem persists.
    I have noticed that a different font with a Suitcase/PostScript file combination does not have the problem - but this font is different in that it has a Suitcase file for each PostScript font file, rather than one Suitcase file for several PostScript font file.
    So, it looks like when there is a font family with a Suitcase file referencing multiple PostScript files, InDesign is using the long font name for one style (always the Normal/Regular style?) and the short font name for the others.
    I wonder whether this is just happening on my own system or whether it is a general problem. Does anybody want to check?
    Some example fonts that exhibit the problem are the Image Club Graphics fonts on the Adobe Action Pack Graphics CD that came with PageMaker a few years ago, if anybody has that lying around.
    Cheers,

  • DataGrid ItemRender and font family

    i am writing a custom data grid ItemRender that, for every
    cell, displays a numeric value. Additionally, if the xml data
    structure defines an attribute for a given row, it is supposed to
    display a colored arrow in the same cell.
    Reading the data and determining if to display the arrow, and
    the color of the arrow work fine. I am trying to embed the
    windgings font to display the arrow, that way I can set the color
    programatically. As I said, reading the data works fine, the
    coloring of the 'arrow' works fine. My problem is I cannot change
    the fontFamily of any label in the item renderer. Even the entire
    renderer itself. Below is my code, followed by several other things
    I have tried. Thanks for the help.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

    case 'equal':
    cellArrow.text = 'd';

    <mx:Spacer width="100%"/>
    <mx:Label id="cellArrow" styleName="arrowStyle"
    text=""/>
    </mx:HBox>
    I have tried using <mx:Label id="cellArrow"
    fontFamily='myArrowFont'/>
    I have set the fontFamily='myArrowFont' in the base HBox tag
    as well, and it doesn't change the font of either the cellArrow or
    cellText label.
    I have also used
    cellArrow.setStyle('fontFamily','myArrowFont') in the override set
    data method.
    I have written the same component in ActionScript
    implementing the same functionality.
    The cellArrow label's text and color are set correctly to the
    data, however I cannot get the font to change to windgings.
    I have tried setting the DataGridColumn fontFamily to the
    wingdings font, and all it does is change the header text of the
    column, not any of the rows.
    The actual datagrid is created entirely in actionscript,
    because it is part of a control that will build a datagrid with X
    number of columns, defined in a data structure. That code works
    fine as well, and is below, incase it helps.
    //_dataP is an XMLList from an httpservice or web service
    that defines our grids
    var colsX:XMLList = _dataP..column; //get an xmllist of our
    columns
    var len:int = colsX.length(); //and store the length
    var cols:Array = new Array(); //create an empty array to hold
    each column
    var col:DataGridColumn; //a data grid column reference
    for(var i:int = 0; i < len; i++)
    col = new DataGridColumn(); //create a new column
    col.headerText = colsX
    .@text; //set the header text
    col.dataField = colsX.@field; //and data field
    col.itemRenderer = new ClassFactory(quadBoxItemRenderer);
    cols.push(col); //add it to the array
    _grid.columns = cols; //set our columns array as the columns
    of the grid
    var rows:XMLList = _dataP..row;
    _grid.rowCount = (rows.length() == 0) ? 1 : rows.length();
    _grid.dataProvider = rows; //and give it the list of rows
    _grid.percentWidth = 100;
    _gridBox.addChild(_grid);
    any help is vastly appreciated. Thanks.

    Disregard my question - I've unfortunately failed to check the font-family string as submitted by the server and it turned out to still have a colon character in front of it...
    I guess I've spent a few too many nights working on this making me susceptible to tiredness and a strangely blank mind...
    My apologies,

  • Problem with font-family name

    I have adobe Univers LT Std font purchased and installed on my PC, but there is a problem when I try to use it on the webpage. The font has otf format. I noticed that Chrome and FireFox use different font-family names for this font. FireFox 25.0 seems to use OT Family name (Univers LT Std) as a font-family value, and Chrome 30 uses PS font name (UniversLTStd). So I ended up writing my css like this:
    p {
    font-family: UniversLTStd, Univers LT Std;
    Is there a way to avoid writing multiple family names for a single font to work in different browsers?
    I've checked the font's attributes with FontLab Studio:
    Basic set of font names:
    Family name: Univers LT Std 55
    PS font name: UniversLTStd
    Full name: Univers LT Std 55 Roman
    Menu name: Univers LT Std 55
    FOND name: Univers LT Std 55
    OpenType-specific names:
    OT Family name: Univers LT Std
    OT style name: 55 Roman
    Mac name: Univers LT Std 55
    But didn't find any universal name to use as a font-family.

    Hello Ragu,
    Newly created font family for FR is ZNGO (Similiar to Gothic font). I can see this font family via SE73.
    If I execute the script for FR language output is porpor.
    Now, we have added 2 more countries UK and Germany. So client wants ouput exactly in the same way as that of FR. So I am using ZNGO in paragraph formats. But output for FR an EN doses not contain this font family. I think when script is called in EN and DE language, somehow it does not detect ZNGO font family.
    So my question is (again) whether font famliy is langauage dependent? If yes, then how to change/view languages for font family. is there any option in SE73 or any other transaction? If not, then why am i facing this problem?

    Why Acrobat x professional is changing the text formatting specifically the font family  and the font size of the text in my pdf on exporting it to Microsoft word file format ?How should i stop Acrobat x professional from doing that so that i get an exactly same word file on exporting it from its pdf counterpart?

    I was testing the preciseness & efficiency of Adobe acrobat x professional's doc conversion capabilities. As i have to take a document editing project in future which is going to need lot of pdf to word and vice versa conversions . What I did was I created a test word document converted into a pdf using a pdf maker in my word 2007 , Acrobat did convert the document from word to pdf keeping everything in the source file intact , However when i tried the other way round and attempted to convert the same pdf to word 2007 file format I lost my formatting ?So the font that I used to create the pdf are the ones taken from word 2007 which i believe is using the fonts that are installed in my computer. Any suggestions on how to preserve the formatting of the document after converting it from pdf to word file format?

  • Help!! Arial Narrow missing in Adobe Reader 9.4.7

    Hello
    I have the latest Adobe Reader 9.4.7 and I am having trouble with the font Arial Narrow. When I open a file which has that font  I get an error saying "Cannot find or create the font 'ArialNarrow'. Some characters may not display or print correctly." Any idea how I can fix this?
    I have already reinstalled Adobe Reader twice and I still have this issue. I am using Windows 7 Pro (64 Bit).
    Looking for some help.
    Thanks.

    It's certainly possible but, not only does the font have to be the same name, it has to be the exact font. In other words, it would have to be made by the same foundry, the same year...etc.
    But there's a decent chance this is it: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/family.aspx?FID=22

  • Identifying Full Font Family Names from Acrobat "Properties"

    I routinely update PDFs where the originator is unavailable to question about typography issues. The problem I'm having currently, and continue to have, is that Acrobat (on V8) identifies font names differently from say...the Adobe Store.
    For instance, currently I'm editing a PDF that uses fonts from the "HelveticaNeue" family. I don't have this font, so if I go over to the Adobe store and try to find it, I get multiple types of "HelveticaNeue" font, and none of them are exactly what Acrobat provides as the name.
    For instance:
    Acrobat says: HelveticaNeue-Black
    Adobe store offers:
    Helvetica Neue Std Black
    Helvetica Neue 93 Black
    Helvetica Neue 95 Black
    and so on and so forth
    But NO "HelveticaNeue-Black" is in the list.
    Neither the spelling of the Acrobat font family, or the actual full name seem to match anything in the Adobe store.
    So, does anyone know a way to figure out exactly which font family Acrobat has in the PDF?
    Thanks in advance.

    Chris Souther asked:
    "Does anyone know a way to figure out exactly which font family
    Acrobat has in the PDF?"
    PDF's may include individual fonts, not families. For the most part,
    the font names shown are the actual font names. Or, more precisely,
    the PS Font Names.
    I'm looking at an older Type 1 font right now that has the following
    names in its name table (or at least the ones I can see in FontLab):
    Family Name: Helvetica Neue
    Weight: Black
    Style Name: Regular
    PS Font Name: HelveticaNeue-Black
    Full Name: Helvetica 95 Black
    Menu Name: Helvetica 95
    Fond Name: Helvetica 95
    To prevent conflicts, Adobe did some name modification when they
    created OpenType versions of fonts:
    The OTF version of the same font shows:
    Family Name: Helvetica 95 Black
    Weight: Heavy
    Style Name: Regular
    PS Font Name: HelveticaNeue-Black
    Full Name: Helvetica Neue 95 Black
    Menu Name: Helvetica 95 Black
    Fond Name: Helvetica 95 Black
    It appears that either one of these might be the one used in your PDF
    - and they should be interchangeable.
    Just to confuse things further, the fontnames for embedded subsets may
    be preceded by random 6-letter-and-a-plus-sign strings like HFTRDS+,
    or in some cases where the PDF isn't produced by Adobe Acrobat,
    TrueType fonts might have peculiar names like TT493875.
    Note that with the exception of a small "webfonts' collection Adobe
    has never produced Truetype fonts. If, as you indicated in another
    gorup, you need to install these fonts, you need them in T1 or OpenType.

  • Same font file, different font family in software

    Hi guys
    I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question but I'm having some trouble with fonts on my iMac.
    A few weeks ago, I bought three fonts/font files online, and installed them on my MacBook Pro with Fontexplorer X Pro. Now on the Macbook I can find them in the same Family in no matter which software like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or in Word, Excel...
    Last week when I installed my brand new iMac, I also setup the same 3 font files via Font Explorer X Pro the same way as I did it on the MacBook Pro. Suddenly, on the iMac, the 3 fonts now are divided in 2 font Families, with a difference: TT and OTF.
    Quite annoying since for one client in particular, I constantly need to switch between those three font types which I could do in just some arrow clicks on the keyboard, but since they are now in different families because of the OTF and TT difference, I need to click on the font list every time etc...
    Does anyone know if I can select something like "do not separate OTF and TT" or... ?
    Thanks!
    Bob

    Yes, it does.
    But is there a way to have OTF and TTF fonts in one family and in one list in InDesign? I mean, they are the same font family with the only difference that one of the three fonts now appears as OTF, which it didn't a few weeks ago on the older MacBook.
    Best regards

  • How do I upload a font family?

    I''m uploading a book as PDF pages to an on demand printer.
    The printer would like the entire font family included even though
    I'm only using one weight (style) each of 2 fonts.
    How do I go about uploading the entire font families?
    I seem to think I did this once before, but don't recall the step.
    Please give me a step by step instructions.
    Thank you.

    I think I see what you're going after.
    Open your project in Quark 8. Choose File > Collect for Output. The first thing it asks is "Save Project before continuing with Collect for Output?" Meaning, it wants to save the file even if you haven't changed anything. That's okay, you can just dump the copy of the document later. Click "Save".
    A dialogue box will come up. Create a new folder somewhere using the button at the lower left. The desktop is usually the easiest place to put things. If you want, you can change the name of the file at the top, but it usually makes the most sense to leave it the same name as the file you opened. Choose the new folder you created and click "Save".
    That just writes the open document to the newly created folder. Now you get the opportunity to save the rest of the related items. Turn on the check boxes for "Linked Pictures", "Printer Fonts", "Color Profiles" and "Screen Fonts". You don't want "Layout" on because you just did that. Having it on will cause the rest of the collection to fail. Click "Save". Actually, since you already have everything but the fonts as part of the PDF file, all you need is the "Printer Fonts" and "Screen Fonts".
    A nag box will appear explaining the legality of copying fonts that may be copyrighted. Click "OK".
    A copy of your document, images and fonts will now all be in the folder you created. You don't need the Quark document or images, but all of the fonts you need to send to the publisher will be there.
