Font in Forms 6i

Is there a way to set the default font in forms 6i? We're not using templates. The font defaults to Tahoma since I went to XP. It used to be MS Sans Serif.

Start regedit and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\oracle (your oracle home). If FORMS60_DEFAULTFONT is not there, you can create a string value and set it to something like "MS Sans Serif.8.Plain.medium". in other words, <font>.<size>.<style>.<weight>. This will now be the default that forms uses.

Default Font in Forms 10g

I've been doing some development in Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2) and I've noticed some differences between a form that has all the fonts set to Microsoft Sans Serif and a form that leaves the font property as <Unspecified>. When you create a new form and don't change the font in the Layout Editor the font is left as <Unspecified> in the property palette even though the Layout Editor shows the font as Microsoft Sans Serif.
What is the font that Forms uses when the font is set to <Unspecified> in the property palette?

How to embed font in Form Field

Hi All,
I have created Form with few fields,
I have used Chinesh licience font in form field and content; and i embeded the font in the pdf.
But, the font which i embeded is not appearing in the fields, and it's taking default "arial" instead of embeded(chinesh) font when i distribute the form to public users.
Those public has different OS windows/mac and different acrobat version, when i check Document Properties/Fonts/ the font are embeding with pdf
I know, If font not existing in local system, it would go to Arial, but i embeded the licienced font.
Why embeded font not supporting particularly in FormField?
I'm using Acrobat X Pro,
Please help to sove this issue.

Normally when you choose a non-base-14 font for a field, the entire font will get embedded so it can be used with the fields. This is separate from any font embedding for regular text content in the PDF. But in the case of asian fonts, I don't think Acrobat will embed asian fonts for use with fields since they can be quite large.
Adobe distributes the Asian and Extended Language Font Pack so that users can fill forms, comment, etc. with the asian fonts it includes: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5508

How to add license fonts to Form Server?

Hi,
I dont know if it is possible with java command but it is possible to add through web application.
I tried it long back on XI R2 SP2.
BO provide classes like:
ILicenseKey
ILicenseKeyBase
see if you can take help of these classes.
setLicenseKey
void setLicenseKey(java.lang.String newLicenseKey)Sets the license key value for a new license key.
Parameters:

You can do that by puuting the line you want to change in the condition and on the basis of the condition selected , display your line of script.
Line can have your character format.
Otherwise not.

Problem with fonts in forms when deployed on web

Hi everybody out there! Please help me out. My problem is:
I have used developer server to deploy forms on web, but when a
form is shown on web, it takes some default settings for fonts
and colors instead of retaining the original colors and fonts
that i chose during creating forms. I want that forms retain
their original colors and fonts when deployed on web. How would
i do that ?? Someone told me to check the Registry.dat file but
i do not how to change the settings in registry.dat file. So
help me out and tell me how would i change color and font
settings for forms being shown on web by web app. server.

The problem is no resolved:) In the Visual Attribute Group I changed the Font Weight to Bold in the Property Palette.

Available Fonts in Forms 9i

Hi,
I would like to know when more fonts will be supported in the Forms 9i run-time. Currently there are only 3 fonts available, ie. Courier New, Arial and Times New Roman.
We use Courier New, and have a problem with the underscore character "disappearing" because it is too low in the field. My users want a non-proportional font.
I have investigated the alternatives, including clientDPI and mapFont, but all have unacceptable side-affects.
Are there any plans to support additional fonts, and if so, when could this release be available.

Forms uses all the fonts listed in teh formsxx/java/oracle/forms/registry/registry.dat file. It's not Forms limiting the choice of fonts to use but the Java version that Forms is based upon. Java 1.4 has a new feature that allows you to drop true type fonts to the Java VM (I think the lib directory, but you better check with the SUN web page). This means that e.g. using the Java 1.4 plugin should help you to support more fonts on teh client side. As far as i know we didn't run tests with this (and so didn't I). But I am sure that following this route we are able to get more fonts supported in Forms. So the answer is yes, we are looking into this (no date attached to this right now)

I am urgently seeking help. I am using Redhat Linux 9, I have Oracle Database 9i running and have just installed Forms and reports 6i.
My issue is that I don't know where to adjust the font family and size when I run a form application (f60runm).

Can't change font of forms checkbox

I upgraded from Acrobat 9 Pro to 11 Pro (Mac version) a week or two ago and now my forms are messed up. Specifically, the marks in the checkboxes do not print out.
I tried to go into Properties and adjust the font, thinking that might be the issue but the dropdown is grayed out. The font it shows is Adobe Pi, which as far as I can tell is not installed on my machine. So now I'm thinking that really is why the marks don't print.
Why can't I change the font of these checkboxes? Where can I get the Adobe Pi font? How can I print my checkboxes?

The font for checkboxes can't be changed. Some of the options (e.g. cross) don't even use a character from the Pi font, which is built-in. It is actually the replacement font for the Zapf Dingbats font which is guaranteed to be available with all compliant PDF viewers, so there's no need for you to have it installed separately.

How to add new a font with Forms 6i running on Web URGENT !!!

In Forms 6i , I have added a new Font and installed it successfully .In client Server
mode the Form is Successfully Showing me
the newly added font. But when I run this Form on Web It does not shows me the font correctly. The font is a True Type Font for
Windows . I am running my forms using OAS 4.0.8.1 on Win NT. Do I need to make some configurations on the Server ????

1/ Actually most of the customers will use our app through normal 56k modems. Their first connection must avoid to download Jinitiator which is 8Mo, so we don't want people to use Jinitiator (opening the session is even longer with Jinitiator than IE5).
2/ Moreover, the applet window has a grey title line with the word "window" and the name form : this is not internet at all ;-)
3/ A normal connection through a firewall doesn't work with the famous port 9000.

Non-enlish fonts in Forms for Linux

Can anybody help me with a problem:
I cannot insert russian font into a form.
It looks on web like '?????'
I've developed form under Windows and then compiled it under Linux because I have iAS for Linux

I think i could not make my question clear to you.
On windows platform i see all fonts includint Tahoma
and it works fine with Jinitator.
But in linux when i have installed tahoma font.
I dont see in Forms Builder 9i. I want to use Tahoma fonts here too.

I deployed my.fmx on web, but I can't read some of text item prompts,wherease,the same font read it correct in another texts.
All fonts in my .fmx is Arial font. NLS_LANG is American_America.AR8MSWIN1256.
I have configured font name in Registry.dat file and have no effect.
Please tell me how to solve this problem.

Install a customer font - dynamic form design

Hi all,
we set the parameter gs_docparams-dynamic mit abap_true for generating the form, beause we locate some form objects dynamically. Now we need to embed our customer font other licenses (for the dynamic form design).
So, we installed the font (for dynamic design) on the ADS, but it is still the same problem, that the font is not embedded in the PDF.
Should the font be installed on the ADS and the client?
Do somebody have install instructions? ...or other ideas?

Hi,
What ever font you installed in ADS, Same font you need to install in your Desktop/Laptop where you are designing form.
Once the fonts are installed, they are visible in your form and you can include the fonts in the form.
Note: After Installing the font in ADS, you need to restart the ADS Service(Normally basis people will do this)

Embed Fonts in forms

Hi there,
I designed a xdp using a font called Walt Disney Script v4.1 (you can find it online for free) and i'm trying to embed it but never appears. It is installed in my LC server and in the adminui (Services -> Forms -> embed fonts) i typed his name. The font is editable....
Anyone knows the problem?

I tried it here and duplicated the issue ......thereis an XCI file which controls certain paramaters in the creation of the
PDF. In the default XCI file Font embedding is set to false (I guess to reduce the size of the templates). You can create your own XCI file and use that one to create your PDF and have Font embedding set to on.
There is also a setting in adminui under the Forms Server Service option that you can name fonts to always embed .....I believe that changing this will need a restart to caus eth eoption to update.
