Font in Oracle Form open from Chinese & English Regional Setting

Hi,
we have oracle form deploy in oracle 10g as that will be open from PC that use Chinese Regional Setting and also PC that use English Regional Setting. The label however is in english.
The problem is, the display & Allignment of the Font in English & Chinese regional setting will totally different.for the font already look nice on English PC, when we open from Chinese PC all the font & Allignment will be become not proper.
If during development we allign and tested for Chinese PC, when we open from English PC, will have the same issue.
is there any one have solution for this ?? cause this really frustating for us since our form is used by different country with different Regional Setting on their PC.
Wondering how this problem solved in Oracle Application ?? or actually they have the same issue as well...

  • Open Oracle Forms app from APEX

How can I open an Oracle Forms application from within APEX?
Right now, the Forms app is accessed simply through a Bookmarked hyperlink, so it seems to me I should be able to open a browser window and send it the same url from within APEX. Can someone provide all the details please? Thank You.

I don't know about Oracle Forms specifically... but you should be able to put a link to any arbitrary URL within your Apex application, and have the browser access that URL.
For instance, you can create a button and set that URL as the button's location, or create a Display-Only item with a default value set to a block of HTML including an <a href> tag.

  • Opening and Oracle Form (D2K) from ADF

Hi, We have requirement for developing new module in ADF, in parallel with our Oracle Application instance.
I would like to know, if there is any option to Open the Oracle Apps Sales Order form directly from the new ADF module, by clicking on a button.
    Thanks,
    Aneesh

I could get the URL, but the URL contains an ICX_TICKET number, which is generated dynamically by Oracle Apps. So I can't use a static URL for this.
Do you know how I can use or generate an ICX_TICKET in runtime? My user will have an active Oracle Application screen opened along with ADF web page. He want to navigate to Oracle Apps screen from ADF page. Hopes this makes the requirement more clear.
    Thanks for your time,
    Aneesh

  • Unable to run Oracle Form Builder from Designer 10g

I am using Windows XP with Oracle Designer 9.0.4.5. From Design Editor, I select Run -> Oracle Forms, nothing happen. I am able to open Form Builder manually (C:\ORACLE\904\bin\ifbld90.exe). After I generated a module (form) from Designer, I have to open the FMB manually from Form Builder. In Designer 9i, I am able to open Form Builder from Designer. Is this a bug for Designer 10g?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Thanks for the response, Suresh,
I believe this is an installation/configuration issue.
I installed Oracle Developer Suite 9.0.4, which includes Form Builder, Report Builder, and Designer. System Path contains the ORACLE_HOME (c:\oracle\904\bin). I am able to start Form Builder from DOS command (ifbld90.exe). I am also able to start Report Builder (rwbuilder.exe) and Designer (des2k61.exe) from DOS. I am able to Run Oracle Report Builder from Designer, but just not Form Builder. I also checked the Windows registry settings and they seem alright to me.
    thanks,
    Jim

  • Upgrade Oracle Forms/Reports from 6i to 11g

    Hi you Oracle experts,
I'm considering to upgrade my Oracle Forms/Reports application from 6i to 11g.
However, I see dozens of separated server components on the download page in OTN.
Can anyone guide me what server/developer software components should I prepare to install ?
Also, please tell me the service dependency between the server components.
    Thank you in advance.

It depends on which Machine you want to install. Its different for a developer and a Server.
For Forms and Reports, you can Weblogic server and install FMV with Forms and Reports builders.
For migration you can go through this link.

  • Call Oracle Forms 6i from UNIX

    Hi,
I am new to Oracle forms and I have some querries -
I have a form created on windows environment (.fmb/.fmx). This form accepts a parameter in a text field and calls another Oracle Report. Now my questions are:
    1. If windows forms are not compatible with UNIX environment, then how these are converted to be compatible with UNIX/Linux (without re-creating them on different platform)?
    2. Can I call the same form from UNIX shell with input as a shell script input?
    3. And if answer to the second query is no, then can I invoke Web deplyed froms (on application server) using shell? and how..
    I w'd appreciate your help!
    Regards.

    1. If windows forms are not compatible with UNIX environment, then how these are converted to be compatible with UNIX/Linux (without re-creating them on different platform)?you need to generate fmx on server side. this is character mode. use : f60gen yourforms.fmb username/password@tns > a
yes you can call it forms use : f60run forms.fmx username/password@tns
    report : rwrun60c yourreportname.rdf username/password@tns destype=file desname=a.lis
but always use HOST command inside the forms, also to send to the printer name that is configured to your server.
    host ('rwrun60c /dsk8/ciame/rcption/wagih/reportname xxx/xxxn@xxx batch=yes destype=file desname=$user_output/'||to_char(:blk1.office_emp_no)||'.lis tty_office_no='||to_char(:blk1.office_no)||' tty_emp_no='||to_char(:blk1.office_emp_no)||' tty_rcpt_no='||to_char(:blk2.rcpt_mst_receipt_no)||' tty_rpt_type=0;
    lp -d $lp01 -c $user_output/'||to_char(:blk1.office_emp_no)||'.lis',NO_PROMPT);
and if you call another form then you can use open_form,call_form,,... inside the form. Be sure you add in the library your wroking folder.

  • Call Oracle Forms 11 from ADF

    Hi,
I search for a example/source/demo for calling an Oracle Forms 11 "page" from an ADF (ADF Faces -> *.jspx) page.
I use Jdeveloper "Bulldog" with ADF BC and ADF Faces. I need the option to start an oracle forms application (which would build with new forms 11). A second session on databse is unproblematic.
Has anybody an idea? Some information from oracle experts?
    Kind reagards.

Forms is started using a url, so the syntax would be like
http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=config_sectionconfig_section refers to a configuration-section in the forms-configuration-file "formsweb.cfg" there you can configure everything needed like the name of the form to start and (if desired) the userid and password forms should use to connect to the database).

Wouah, impressed..... decompiled frmall.jar package step by step to port Forms engine to be run as stand alone application over java webstart and to change some "visual" components GUI... (design, icons, colors ...) is probably the craziest thing I ever read so far in this forum.....
For sure you will find help from gurus and oracle for your project in this forum ....... Are you making fun of us ?
You must be a java expert to play with about 1000 form classes and well organized in your development, so why don't you just write your application in swing or in whatever you want instead of using poor old awt forms java classes ..... You will probably spend less time then trying to re-invent the forms-wheel and replace alone the whole Forms development team.
ok that's enough for me today...
this thread is just simply unbelievable and silly

  • Feedback from ebs form opened from notification

I have a notification that has a link to launch a standard EBS form. (Invoice create) The user has to complete the details on the invoice form as normal.
How can I find out in my workflow that the user has completed the task and created the new invoice and then relate that to my workflow.
After looking through the forum, the only suggestion that might work would be to add a new parameter that could be handled by the form but then I have to change a Oracle supplied form.

    Hi,
There is no simple mechanism for this to happen.
The easiest (but most unreliable) method is to make the notification require a response, and have the users respond to the notification when they have done the work. The upside is that it is dead easy to implement; the downside is that typically users don't like having to do this, and they might also forget.
If you are not doing this, then you would need to have something in the process which waits for the action to complete - typically either a defer thread, receive business event, or a block. My preference would be to have a receive business event, and then code something that fires the event when the record is committed in the form - this could be a change to the seeded form, or could be a trigger on the underlying table to fire the event when the record is created.
If you don't want to code something in the form or in a trigger, then your only other option would be to have the workflow process pause, then check whether the record has been updated / created, and then move on if it has, or loop back to the pause if it has not. The downsides of this are that it requires polling to take place (which is not very efficient), additional loops record extra records in the Workflow history tables, and if the process is time-critical you are introducing an unnecessary delay in the process. However, this is less intrusive to do than making a change to the form or writing a trigger.

  • Opening oracle form from workflow notification asks for responsibility.

    Hello All,
I am trying to open serach service request form from workflow notification.
For that I have added below.
    1) created Form type of WF attribute and attached it to message. Value of this attribute is
    CSXSRISV:REQUEST_ID=&REQUEST_ID.
    2) So the link apears in the notification but when I form session opens it brings up the responsibility selection screen, If I select Customer Support resp and click on OK, service request get queried properly.
So everthing is working fine, only issue is when oracle form opens it asks for the responsibility to select from selection screen.
How can I remove this responsibility selection screen?
Do I need to pass any parameter or something like that?

    Thanks for the reply.
I have added CSXSRISV function i.e Find Service Request to the appropriate menu which is attached to the responsibility and opened the form from newly sent notification. Still no luck. Still it is asking me for resp to choose.
Can you suggest me any other workaround?
How to see whether workflow worklist is available to customer support resp?
