Font list just keeps getting longer!@!
hello!
i use suitcase fusion with my illustrator CS2.
I have noticed that in some files the font list is very long, and once I open a new font or activate it it is listed in the font list and openned every time I open the file.
is there a way to delete fonts from the list???
I delete swatches and patterns etc. when I save a file to make it a little smaller and open faster, now I am onto the fonts.

If the fonts are used in the document, you can replace them by selecting: Type > Find Font.
If the listed fonts are not in the Find Font dialog and they are not active in either Font Book or Suitecase Fusion, then it is possible that the font list files have become damaged. You may be able to reset the list by reseting the font list files:
1. Quit all open applications.
2. From the Finders menu go to File > Find.
3. Select the hard drive name and select File Name from the Search options.
4. Change the Kind field to Name.
5. Type the following in the search field: Adobefnt
6. Move any of the resulting files to the Trash and then empty the trash.
Once these files are deleted, relaunch the product and attempt to reproduce the issue. The font list files will get recreated as needed.

My Mac suddenly started getting a pop up message saying "There was a problem conecting to the server. URLs with the type "file" are not supported." My internet is working fine,no problem connecting. I just keep getting this message which I click off and continue working.
Open the Time Machine pane in System Preferences. If it shows that Time Machine is ON, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner, if necessary, to unlock it. Scroll to the bottom of the list of backup drives and click Add or Remove Backup Disk. Remove all the disks, then add them back. Quit System Preferences. Test.

Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec. I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app. Any ideas?

have been trying to download cc and lightroom thru it, but no luck. just keep getting put into loops with no further activity.

First, make sure hidden folders are viewable. You can do that using Windows Explorer or My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Look for the radio buttons to show or not to show hidden files and folders.
Now look for C:\Documents and Settings\''username''\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles or some part of that path, or your actual profile folder, which would have had a semi-random name, typically ending with default, or the bookmarkbackups folder, which is the ultimate prize.

To recover your old Firefox settings folder (profile folder), try using a utility like Piriform's Recuva:

That needs to run ASAP before deleted files are overwritten.
The folder you're looking for would have had a semi-random name, but be located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\''username''\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

I can't open Firefox. The home page doesn't come up, I just keep getting the Crash Reporter asking me to restart/quit but every time I do this the same message comes back. I've not been able to use Firefox for days now.

If you do not have Rapport, then we need to have a crash report ID. When you send Mozilla a crash report it just puts it in a giant database. We have no way of looking it up without the Report ID. I have no idea what is wrong without looking up the crash report. Please get the Report ID of your latest crash report.<br>

Why do contacts name keep getting longer and longer?
On some of my contacts, the name keeps getting longer and longer.
For example, if my name is Jason Kahng.
After a few weeks, when I lookup my name in Contacts it comes up as "Jason Kahng Jason Kahng Jason Kahng"
This is very annoying. If I edit the name back down to Jason Kahng, it will do this again a few weeks later.
Please let me know how to fix this problem.

Go and log out of your MobileMe account and then try logging back in again with a dummy username and password. This can help clear it and then just log back in again with your normal username and password.
Note though that iWeb does not require a password or username to use it - this is MobileMe.
Also, start thinking about MobileMe alternatives before you are forced to in June. -
I had to uninstall my iTunes and now it won't reinstall, I just keep getting error messages
After the last iTunes update, I could no longer access iTunes on my Windows desktop computer. I tried to repair it, but kept getting error messages. The point I'm making is (1) you don't get "better" results ... you get an error if you just select the pupil; and (2) software systems that are smart enough to detect a user error and simply "beep" and "beep" could and should in fact be smart enough to offer some sort of unobtrusive help message. The red-eye tool worked fine, I'm commenting on Adobe's not-very-useful error beep. I read the instructions several times, but I missed the point. When I used the tool, the default (?) shape of the tool was, well circular ... like a pupil. It seemed very natural to orient this circle with the pupil of the eye. Not a big deal...just a suggestion for a human factors improvement.

Not been able to open firefox for days just keep getting crash reporter, tried everything, no joy
for the past few days, a week at most, i've been unable to open firefox, it just keeps giving me the crash reporter..
i always use firefox, i've not installed any add ons (i did install dropbox lately but thats about it), i always have adblockplus running, have done for months never had a problem
having to use Opera at the minute cos Chrome is the slowest browser known to man (why everyone sings its praises i'll never know)
then one day, i tried opening firefox, it said checking compatibility of add-ons, then gave the crash reporter box, not been able to do anything since
i've followed all guides on here, i've reset all settings, i've updated the add-ons it said i had, i've tried booting in safe mode..
..all with the same result, crash reporter
so please dont tell me to go into firefox and change settings as i cant even open firefox

Please follow the instructions in the article from the above post. In fct you have a second suspicious file showing on your report so look specifically at and scan files ''gblrofmx.dll'' & ''sprotector.dll''
If possible I suggest you quarantine the files rather than deleting them immediately. Also note that you may need to start Windows in safe mode (or Windows safemode with network access) in order to find and move or delete the files.
