Font not available in Office Word

I have loaded the VIVALDI.TTF font within all the library/font and it works with Mail, Safari, Photoshop, Acrobat etc... but it is still UNAVAILABLE for Office 2004 softwares (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Any clue to help me use Vivaldi font in WORD ?
Thanks
Marc

Try cleaning out the font cache files for Office. Close down all Office apps and delete the following two files. The tilde (~) indicates your user account.
~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache (11)

  • Font not available in Photoshop CS6 or Illustrator CS6 (Mac)

I have installed the Frutiger font family in the font library. It appears in the drop-down menu in InDesign, but not Photoshop or Illustrator. How can I make the font available in these programs?

It’s a ttf file – Frutiger. I’ve managed to get it into InDesign, but not Photoshop or Illustrator. Always seem to have problems with this font!

  • Fonts - not available in MS applications

I bought and downloaded a frutiger true type font, because it's used for my company's logo so i need to use it in a lot of documents etc. Loaded it and it appears in Font book. It's available in the trial version of iWorks that came pre-installed on my MacBook. But it doesnt appear in the font lists for MS Office 2004 - word, etc - which is what i predominantly use. Running Leopard 10.5.2 and i'm told that there re font issues with Leopard. Does anyone know how to get round this?

Okay, that rules out Office's own cache files. On to the system cache files and Font Book.
Follow the steps in Undoing Font Book. Note that you will lose any font collections you have created. Doing this will also clear the system's font cache files.
The link above hasn't been updated for Leopard specifically yet, but others here have used the Tiger method and it appears to be the same for Leopard since it worked.

  • Armenian Mshtakan font not working in MS Word

    Hello,
I am able to use the Armenian Mshtakan font on a Macbook pro using OS 10.7.5 only in Text Edit.  It will not work in MS Word.
Is there any way to get Mshtakan font to work in MS Word for Mac?  Currently using MS Office 2011.
Microsoft's website states that it does not support custom fonts due to security issues, and yet there are some custom fonts that DO work in
Word,  Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work?
I've tried clearing the cache file for MS Office Preferences, tried copying the font in fontbook to the Microsoft fonts folder. None of these things have worked.
    Thanks!

    I've got the same problem.
Have you found the solution yet?

  • Loaded fonts not available to apps

Running 10.6.8, using Font Agent Pro, have not had problem for past year and a half, and all of a sudden yesterday, fonts not recognized by apps. Using Quark, versions 6 - 9, Adobe Creative Suites CS3 - CS6, Word, Excel, etc. I have loaded fonts through Fontbook instead of using Font Agent Pro, I have removed caches with terminal, ran Repair Disk Permissions, Shutdown, boot in Safe Mode, everything I can think of. In Fontbook, fonts display correctly but a lot of them are not available in other Apps. For instance, Arial & Arial Bold not available, but Italic & Bold Italic are fine. I work at a commercial printer and this is killing me!

Did you repair permissions and restarted your computer after the font installatons?

  • Fonts not available when offline

I am a creative cloud subscriber however when I'm not on the internet and trying to work I get an error that fonts are not available since I'm not connected to the creative cloud at that time. Is this bug and if so how do I resolve it?

Actually, I have found that when you disconnect form the Internet, Creative Cloud fonts become unavailable. Today, for example, I was working at my office, logged in to CC, and using Photoshop with some CC fonts. I then closed my laptop (did not log out of anything), and went to a cafe. When I opened the laptop, I was exactly where I had left off... but when I started Photoshop this time, the fonts I was using were unavailable. This does not always happen.
Now, another problem I have with CC fonts is that when I travel on business, I usually "shut down" my laptop. Then when I'm on the plane, I'll turn the laptop on and get back to work... and none of the CC fonts are available.
Overall, this is an unworkable solution for me. I can't have my designs/documents broken ever time I open them. The most embarrasing was a conference, where the document I opened up couldn't use its CC fonts and the entire presentation layout was a complete mess.
Bottom line: If you need the fonts reliably at any time (not just occasional print copy work), don't use CC fonts. They are not going to be available to you reliably.
I wish Adobe would fix this. They make it possible for me to use Photoshop for 30 days without being connected to the Internet. Why can't they do this with fonts too?

  • Some user fonts not available in CS6 Classic InDesign, please help

I am using Adobe CS6 Classic on a MacPro computer operating on Yosemite 10.10.1
Three months ago, I brought over my personal collection of fonts from my retired computer. The collection includes 30 Letraset postscript fonts, which I purchased so long ago that the originals are on floppy disk.
Initially, FontBook would not install the fonts, but I was able to overcome that by purchasing FontXChange, a tool which enabled me to quickly and effortlessly convert the Postscript fonts to Open Type fonts.
Using FontBook I installed those fonts into the
                   users/(my home folder)/library/fonts folder.
Twenty-six of the 30 fonts immediately became available on the InDesign fonts drop-down list. The other 4 simply cannot be made to appear on the list. (This is strange, because those fonts do appear among the fonts available for MS Word.
I have been searching for a solution online and have not found anyone who is experiencing my exact problem.
I have tried moving the problem fonts into many different fonts folders, the most promising of which were:
                 •the user/(my homefolder)/library/application support/adobe/fonts folder.
                 •and the MacHD/library/fonts folder.
I’ve tried starting from scratch with the Postscript font, converting it again to otf, etc. in case somehow the font became corrupted in the conversion process.
       Etc., etc.—Nothing works.
The problem fonts are: Bronx, Demian, Demian Bold, and Willow.
       Can anyone out there help?

  • Some of my fonts not available

Where do they need to be loaded to show up?
    Thanks

As Tom mentions for where to find your fonts, but remember, although iBooks can 'see' all fonts installed and active on your machine, only fonts in OpenType or TrueType formats can be used when publishing. Which could explain why some of your fonts are not available.
In other words, they will display correctly in iBooks Author on your machine, but if they are Postscript 1 fonts [for example], then when you preview on your iPad, they will default to an OT or TT typeface.

  • In Pages 5.2, some fonts "not available", yet present in Font Book and working in other apps

Using Pages 5.2, I open a document created in a previous version, and I get error messages about certain fonts within a font family being "not available" in OS X.  However, these supposedly unavailable fonts are present in Font Book and work just fine in all other apps running on OS X.  In fact, I still have the older version of Pages on my system, and it still finds the fonts without issue.  The specific fonts troubling me at the moment are Myriad Pro Semibold It and Myriad Pro Cond.  Pages 5.2 replaces them with Helvetica.  I have wasted hours of time trying to resolve this problem, and I am at a total loss.  What can I do?

Like so many other thing is is probably gone. Why not use Pages 09 that has about 100 features more than Pages 5. If you haven't deleted it it should still be in Applications/iWork 09 folder.

  • Why are some fonts not available?

I have found that there are fonts in HD>Library>Fonts that are not showing up in any Collection in Font Book and are not available in apps that I'm working with. Font Book Help does not address this problem.
    Some help with this, please?
    Peter

What types of fonts are they? If they're Type 1 PostScript, this may be the problem.
Font Book can read PostScript fonts. But from the sounds of it, you don't have the whole font. Type 1 PostScript fonts are a set. One file is a suitcase containing all of the low res bitmap screen fonts. The rest are the outline printer fonts. As an example, here's Adobe Garamond.
    Adobe Garamond
    AGarBol
    AGarBolIta
    AGarIta
    AGarReg
    AGarSem
    AGarSemIta
The first file which I highlighted in green is the font suitcase of bitmap screen fonts. The rest are the outline printer fonts.
    1) The files for a Type 1 PostScript font must have both the screen and printer fonts for a given set in order to work. They also must be in the same folder.
    2) The suitcase of bitmap fonts will work alone, but output will be terrible since the system will print the fonts using the 72 dpi screen fonts in the suitcase if the outline portions are missing.
    3) Having only the outline fonts will not work. You will get exactly what you are having problems with. You can see the fonts, but Font Book won't load them. That's not a problem with Font Book itself. No font manager will load outline fonts without the matching suitcase of screen fonts present.

  • Fonts Not Available in Photoshop CS3 (Windows 7)?

    Hello,
My desktop computer crashed yesterday and I had to run out last night and pick up a new unit as I'm trying to meet a number of deadlines (and not having much luck getting the work done in my laptop).
The new computer uses Windows 7 as the Operating System.  It has already presented a ton of headaches... I've already spent in excess of ten hours trying to reinstall hardware and dealing with the various quirks that arise.
The latest of these issues is that I cannot seem to access some fonts from Photoshop CS3.  I'm having the same issue, to a lesser extent, in Illustrator 10.
For instance, after downloading the Helvetica and Helvetica Neue families in Windows 7, they do not appear in the Type menu in Photoshop.  There are a ton of useless pre-installed fonts there, but not the ones I installed.  If I try to access them from Illustrator, it displays only one weight of each typeface (for instance, it displays Helvetica Neue 65 but omits 55, 75, 95, etc....).
The issue does not occur for all fonts.  For instance, I installed AvantGarde and it displays just fine.  In that instance, the fonts were TrueType whereas the Helvetica font files are Type 1 font files.
Can anyone help?  I've already lost a day-and-a-half of work, and can't afford to spend much more time screwing around with this nonsense.

    Bill,
Thanks for your thoughtul and thorough reply.
To clarify, I do have a copy of ATM, but just have not installed it on my XP computer or this new one.  It is on my Illustrator 10 install disk.  Not sure if it will work on Windows 7, as Illustrator 10 would not run on the new computer until I set the compatibility to work with Vista and earlier.  I suppose that I could install it and see if it works.  Might be worth a shot.
I will check out the software titles you referenced.
With regard to font installation on Windows 7, there are three techniques as far as I can tell.  They are:
    1) Drag and drop method: Works the same as it always has.  Simply drag the typefaces into the Fonts folder or Control Panel > Fonts.
    2) You can navigate to where a font file is located (the desktop, for instance) and then right-click on it and choose "Install."  This is what I referred to previously, and I tried it after drag-and-drop did not work.
    3) For the third method (according to Windows 7 documentation I found online at http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7desktop/thread/324ecdc6-8574-4527-8099- efc430bf550f), you are supposed to be able to go into the Control Panel > Fonts, press ALT (to display the menu) and then choose File > Install New Font.  You would then be prompted to navigate to the typeface you want to install.  However, this option is not available on my computer.  When I tried it, I can access the File menu, but "Install New Font" is not listed on the dropdown.

  • Roboto font not available in certain applications and Openbox menu

I have downloaded Roboto TTF font from here and saved it in ~/.fonts.
    After downloading it, I ran:
    $ fc-cache -vf
After that, I changed the font in lxappearance and obconf and every single application I have tried so far uses it by default now except Openbox menu (window titles seem to work just fine) and Geany.
What can I do to fix this?
I really like the font and pretty much everything runs well except those two.
Note: tried placing those files in /usr/share/fonts/local, but nothing changed.

Tried to switch fonts in terminal (rxvt-unicode) and apparently that font is not available there either.
    Any ideas?

  • Calibri font not available in WebI

    Hello All,
We are on BO XI R3. We have been using Calibri Font for all our reports built on DeskI. The same font is not available in WebI. Will it be possible for me to add this font in WebI and if yes, please let me know the procedure to do so.
    Thanks in advance
    Vignesh

    hi,
Please login to BO Server and navigate to the below folder
    Control Panel -> Fonts ->
Now verify if Calibri related fonts are available. If not, you can install the below  font files from internet.
    CALIBRI.TTF    for Calibri (TrueType)
    CALIBRIB.TTF    for Calibri Bold(TrueType)
    CALIBRIZ.TTF    for Calibri Bold Italic(TrueType)
    CALIBRII.TTF    for Calibri Italic(TrueType)
Modify the following 2 files by adding tags for this new font.
    1.fontalias.xml
    2. i18n.xml file
Now, you should be able to see the new font in WEBI.
    Regards,

  • Single Style of Font not Available in Any Adobe Programs

I have been using Nofret for all of my business correspondence for years. All of a sudden within the last couple of weeks, one style, the Light Italic, refuses to show up in any of my Adobe programs. It is available in my Microsoft and Apple programs
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the font in FontExplorer Pro, rebooting the applications...no go.
    I am using CS2 on a G4 PowerPC.
Any clues as to why this single style would disappear when all of the other styles of that font are available? Can I get it back?

Ok For some reason or another 2 days ago a font by the name of QuickSand was
not appearing in my font choices through the program illustrator. So
I uninstalled the font through the font manager and then why I tried to
uninstall the font through my system folders (Windows 7)  I receive a dialog
that the font was in use. That made me believe that somehow the system was
stuck on retrieving the front through illustrator (which was the last
program I used)  or through the font manager or somehow the font
became corrupt. Hence, since you have already tried uninstalling the font
through the font manger and that did not work delete the front from you
system folder, but before you  do I hope you have a back up of that font it
not make one first or download the font again from the net. Since you are
using a Mac and I do as well there could be three locations in which you
have chose to store your fonts at /Library/Fonts:
    There's also /System/Library/Fonts.
Fonts are divided up into different folders so that Mac OS X can keep its
own collection of fonts (/System/Library/Fonts), you can install additional
fonts for all users (/Library/Fonts), and any user can have personal fonts
    as well (/Users/username/Library/Fonts).
So long story short uninstall & delete the font through your font manager
and all other locations and then reinstall and of course perform a shut
down. That's what worked for me, Hope that helps

  • Perfectly good fonts "Not Available"

Has someone figured out the font incompatibility issues Snow Leopard seems to have with a lot of fonts that were working just fine under Leopard?
I have a great many fonts that I want to be able to use, but since my upgrade to 10.6, they are "Not Available" and refuse to be activated.
What do I have to do to get them working again?

All but one somewhat small font issue has been resolved since 10.6.3. There are two things that come to mind.
Reset Font Book. If it's database is damaged, a very common symptom of that is not being able to activate and/or deactivate fonts. Do that by restarting in Safe Mode (restart and hold down the Shift key), then restart normally. After that, all installed fonts will be active, regardless of their state beforehand. Any font sets you've created will be gone.
Or if your problem centers around Type 1 PostScript fonts:
You can see the fonts, but they will not load. That's not a problem with Font Book, Suitcase or other font manager. None of them, nor the system itself will load outline fonts from a Type 1 PostScript font without the matching suitcase of screen fonts present.
