Font not changing

hi - I recently loaded 4 new fonts. since then I'm restarted my pc.
In illustrator, 3 of the fonts work fine but the last one, aurulent_sans_mono, isn't working: I can select it in the font selection drop down menu but as soon as I hit enter/tab/whatever, it reverts back to the previous font. I've opened up all the fonts in Word 2007 and they all work fine. The only difference I can see between this font and the others is that it only comes in regular whereas the others come in bold, italic etc.
I've had this problem in the past but with other fonts and that time it was in Word so it might not be an illustrator problem.
any ideas?

I downloaded it again and reinstalled it, restarted my pc, restarted illustrator, and it still didn't work - but, with my type selected, I went to Type -> Find Font and from there I managed to change it into aurulent_sans_mono ok. but even after that I still can't select it in the other ways. It's probably just a bug but at least I've found a way round it.

Font not changing after a CR in a text box

I have some vb.net code that fills in a report, including text boxes. Some of the text boxes are used like a header and have a fixed size. When the desired text is entered, sometimes there will be a character indicating a carriage return/line feed goes in that spot to make the text more readable, and is replaced when found. This works fine.
What does not work is after the text is set up, the user can change the font. The code then goes through all the objects on the report and changes the font. The problem is that when it tries to change the font on the text boxes where the CRLF is, the font change is applied up to the CRLF, but is not applied to the text after it. I end up with mixed fonts in a text box.
Is there a special character or method to get the font to be applied correctly? I have tried all combinations (chr(10), chr(13, chr(10) & chr(13), etc) but so far nothing has worked.
Here is the code I am using to apply the font change:

One more note - this appears to work fine for formula fields. I just can't seem to get it to work for text objects. I have many reports and I would prefer not to change them all to formulas.

Font not changing in preferences.

In the mail preferences, fonts and colours tab, im trying to change the message font, i dont like reading lucida grande and i'd much prefer helvetica. However, when i select helvetica (or any other font) it doesn't change, it just stays as lucida grande. So does the mailbox & messge list drop downs. but the Plain text works fine

Applet font not changed

Hello,
I have an application/applet that displays persian text. The font is bundled in the jar file and this works perfectly well when I run the application, however the applet seems to display a some default persion font (which does not join characters correctly) and not the font bundled in the jar file.
I wanted to know if it is possible for an applet to use a font that is bundled in its jar file or is the applet constrained to using fonts that are avaibale to the browser only?

Fonts are embedded in the PDF part of an AI file. So you can use any AI file with embedded fonts to place into InDesign and to Print from it.
But when you want to edit the file in Illustrator you have to have the needed fonts installed on your Computer (and of course licenced). Otherwise you will experience what you have described.
If you don't need to edit the file, place it as it is in InDesign or whatelse program you work with.

Label Based Menu font not changing

When using the label based menu I am changing the font size from 13 to 16, setting it as bold, changing the color and saving the model. However, non of these changes are showing in preview mode or when exporting to pdf. How can I get this to work properly?

In Captivate 6 Interactions, why does the content font not change to the selected size or font?

Not sure if I am confusing the issue but, I am assuming you are on a mac, have you tried the font book preference?...see below.
Disable or enable fonts
Disabled fonts remain on your Mac, but aren’t listed in apps, the Fonts menu, or the Fonts window.
Open Font Book
In Font Book, select one or more collections, font families, or styles.You can’t disable system fonts; these fonts have a lock icon next to the font name at the bottom of the Font Book window.
Deselect or select the checkbox below the list of fonts. To disable or enable a collection, choose the command from the Edit menu.Disabled fonts appear in gray and are labeled “Off.”
By default, Font Book locates and enables fonts on your Mac, even if you haven’t installed the fonts using Font Book. To turn this feature off, choose Font Book > Preferences, then deselect “Automatic font activation.”

If the PDF that you converted already has searchable text, please try disabling OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel. (If the PDF was created from a scanned document and doesn't already have searchable text, disabling OCR isn't a great option, as the text won't be searchable/editable in the converted Word doc.)

Yep - I was only looking at Text Size.

I imagine your clients must be using Outlook, which is seriously broken when it comes to e-mail standards, especially HTML e-mail. You can work around the issues with Outlook by only sending plain-text e-mails and making sure that, in the Edit -> Attachments menu, the last two options are checked. Unfortunately, that means that HTML signatures are out.
If you need something with a fancy layout, either attach a PDF file to the e-mail or include a link to a website in the e-mail.

Why does set font not work in report generation toolkit?

I would like to change font and underline when inserting text into a Microsoft Word document. I have tried using the
"Set Report Font" vi directly in front of an "Append Report Text" vi in my own application. The inserted text at the bookmark is always in the default text mode
of the document. Is this a bug?
I also tried the find and replace vi with the same result. Font will not change.
I also cannot find any examples of this usage that work. See example vi file below.
Save at C:\ or adjust the template location accordingly in the vi.
Can anyone help me out?

I don't have the time to try anything but as a suggestion I would experiment with the range start end properties (e.g. from start =0 to end =
12 bold is true, from 13 to 23 bold is false, ....) You first insert text without formatting then you use the range start and end to format the text.
I'm not sure it will work but it's worth a try.

note: I would create a 2D array of start and end index of your string and auto-index a for loop that contain the range property node.

I'm using Windows Firewall and even turning it off does not change the situation and I can not access any new emails.

I was using TB on my XP machines and they went down so I was forced to move to a Vista based laptop. It eventually crashed and so I converted my computer from Vista to win 7, Home premium. In both iterations, I have been able to set up TB and transfer all the data & emails that was in them at the time ( from the bood drive that was in the xp machine). but since that time I have not been able to access anything new after that date. It will neither send nor receive emails from both gmail and cox.net accounts that I have. I've attached the settings below. I tried changing some things on [email protected], so that info is obviously wrong.
I've tried deleting TB but apparently have not been able to remove all the data because when I reload it, it just comes back immediately the way it was.
Any help would be appreciated. I really like how TB works and would love to be able to use it again.

File, Send link doesn't open a new email. Using Firefox 11.0. Outlook 2010 is the Mailto default and W7 default email program. On the About:config page network.protocol-handler.external.mailto is set to regular font (not bold) "default Boolean true".

I assume you have tried toggling the setting in Firefox between Outlook and, say, Gmail:

In the search box, type or paste '''mailto''' and pause for the list to filter.
Change the setting and OK to save it, then return to the dialog, change back, and OK again.
You also might want to toggle the setting at the OS level between Microsoft Outlook and the native Windows Mail client in a similar fashion. In Windows XP you could use IE's Options dialog, Programs tab, for this, but I'm not sure in Windows 7.
Since one possibility is a problem in your Firefox settings (including the possibility of interfering add-ons), and another is a problem at the Windows level (e.g., Registry settings), it would be useful to try to identify which one it is. One quick way to distinguish is to create a new Firefox profile. It will start up with all factory settings. You can switch back to your existing profile after testing.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
After closing Firefox, start up again in the Profile Manager as described in this article: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].

"Font not found on the system" for work logo font

I just started a new job and every single AI file I work with in illustrator is using VTypewriterRoyal - the company logo.
It automatically defaults to Myriad with the msg:
"Font not found on the system; missing font has been substituted."
I've spent way too much time changing it back from Myriad once in AI + scouring the web for answers. Haven't come up with any.
No one else at work seems to have this problem. I've tried installing and uninstalling the font.
Redownloading as OTF instead of TTF.
Nothing is working, so I really really hope someone can help me since I'm going to be considered slow if I keep having to take the time to change every ******* file I open.
Adobe support is seemingly overly complicated and this issue is making me crazy!!!
Someone please help. I'm on a brand new iMac 27" using 10.6.8....
