Font of time on locked screen is way too thin (iOS 7)

i'm new here, dont know if apple is reading complaints here, so just in case...
the font, especially for the clock/time is way too thin. really makes my eyes follow that thin thread, to grasp the whole digit. It's ridiculous, cant believe Apple doesnt notice how user-unfriendliy this is. Okay, i've got a pretty bright background picture. that preinstalled wave...

Have you tried playing around with the adjustments under Accessability?
I think the default seeting are bad. After playing around with them on mine I found it was better.

Since upgrading to ios6, all the family's apple devices (new ipad, 2 iphone4 & itouch) are having difficulty reconnecting to the home hub wifi network. I.e, every time the lock screen comes on, the wifi connection is lost when you reopen the device and we have to reconnect through settings. This appears to be an ios6 software issue.
Is there a solution to this wifi connection issue or do we wait for a software fix?
I'd hate to think Apple is going down the Microsoft path, of passing untested software onto the user. What ever happened to Regression Testing, to ensure the existing functionality remains intact?
I bought into the Apple dream, because it was intuitive, reliable & enjoyable to use, all the things that Microsoft windows isn't.
Other issues we are experiencing are, Games are stuttering and the kids really miss the old YouTube app.
Please Mr Browett, sort these issues out.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

YouTube is not now part of iOS 6.
However, you can go to the App Store and do a search using YouTube. You can download several YouTube apps: YouTube (for the iPhone, a IPad app is in work), several users  like Jasmine and YouPlayer.

  • BB Bold Time On Lock Screen

    Hi
Is there anyway of getting my blackberry to show me the time on the lock screen so i don't have to keep unlocking it to see the time???
Or is there a site that i can go to, to make an app that will do it?

Hi, I'm familiar with this one.
What I think has happened (it happened to my daughter's ipod too) is that a picture was taken (by holding down the home button then pressing the on/off button) this picture was then loaded as the wallpaper. If you go to the photos their should be a 'saved Photos' folder/icon. Click that and you should find the image that is ghosting. Try deleting that. Then, to be safe, go to wallpapers (under settings) and choose a new or different background wallpaper. Restart the ipod and you should be okay.
    Hope this helps, Richard

Did you check Settings>Control Center>Access on Lock Screen and make sure it's set to ON?

  • Lock screen no longer works on iOS 8.0.2

Updated to iOS 8.0.2 Now my ipad2 never goes to lock screen after 2 mins, or when I close the cover. "Genius bar tech" seems to think that the functionality has been removed. So when you close the cover tye screen stays on what ever app you were using. I do not use a passcode. Any thoughts or solutions. I liked the pad going to the lock screen. The update is a POS. Never had a single problem from 7.1.2

I bought my iPhone 5C in Kuwait but there isn't any Factime option on my iPhone. But on my iPhone 5, I have Factime.

  • How do you remove camera icon on lock screen on iPhone 5 running iOS 7

How do you remove camera icon on iPhone 5 running iOS 7

I was on a long call. I locked the phone and slipped it in my pocket. Apparently the lock screen camera had activated though it had not taken any shots . The result was post my 40 odd minute call when I pulled the phone out to disconnect I discovered the camera was active and phone was hot and battery had reduced for 92% to around 50%. This seems a serious flaw in design...

  • I have no icon on lock screen for photos i have ios 5

I have no icon for photos on lock screen i am using ios5 on my iphone4

Double-tap the home button while the phone is locked and the Camera icon will appear at bottom right.
Note: it's the Camera, not Photos app. You can take a picture, but you can't do much else until you unlock.

Satis has good recommendations.  If the don't do the trick...
You may be able to improve the speed with some software work but it could also be your disk is corrupt or failing.
    Try an SMC Reset:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Is it faster now?  If not, proceed.
    Backup your data immediately:
Before proceeding you should make sure you have a current backup.  If it has been getting slower over time your disk could be a failing slowly.  SATA drives have two retry modes: short and long.  They can continue operating as read errors are increasing.  The long retry cycle is very long and can cause significant performance degradation.  If it has started long retries then it is likely to get worse and eventually fail.  SSDs also have a failure mode where the fail slowly.
    Time Machine Basics: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1427
    Most commonly used backup methods:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3045
Methodology to protect your data.  Backups vs. Archives.  Long-term data protection:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6031
Try the remedies at http://www.macworld.com/article/2026650/mac-troubleshooting-what-to-do-when-your -computer-is-too-slow.html
    and
    Mac Performance Guide: http://www.thesafemac.com/mpg/
    Safe Mode:
    - Reboot the system in Safe Boot mode.
    - Power on the Mac and when you hear the bong, hold down the shift key until it is booted.
    - Be patient, this will take some time while it checks the filesystem.
If it runs faster in Safe Boot mode then it is probably third-party software compatibility issues.
    - Restart.
    - Does it run faster after the restart?
Run Disk Utility (found in the Applications folder):
-In Disk Utility look at the S.M.A.R.T. Status.
If it says the disk has a hardware problem that can't be repaired then stop.
Your system could be in danger of failing at any time and you need to replace the disk soon.
      Back your system up twice.
(You will need a second external disk for the second backup.)
Consider using Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper! for the second backup to clone the disk.
Jump to the Hardware replacement section and seek expert help.
Repair Disk Permissions and Verify Disk.  If Disk Permissions reports errors, don’t worry.  That is normal.  If Verify Disk reports errors then they need to be repaired.  Otherwise skip to the reinstall OS X section.
    Repairing your system disk:
    - Boot in recovery mode.
(Boot and when you hear the bong hold down the
Command and R keys simultaneously until you see the recovery screen.)
    - Select disk utility.
    - Select your system drive.
    - Repair Disk.
    - Did it complete without errors?
If not you may need a new disk.  Seek expert help.
If it completed normally then reboot.
-Did it run faster and is it more responsive?
    Reinstall OS X:
If it is still slow you should reinstall OS X.
    - Boot in Recovery Mode again.
    - Follow the instructions to reinstall OS X.
    - Now does it run faster?
    Hardware replacement or upgrade?
Hopefully by now your Mac is back to its normal speed.  If a hardware repair is indicated take it to an Genius bar at an Apple store for a free diagnosis and estimate of repairs.  You can compare their estimate with DIY repairs.
    Genius reservation http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ .
or find an Apple Authorized Service Provider https://locate.apple.com/country
You can speed it up further by upgrading some hardware.  For memory, disk or SSD replacements and upgrades check out OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/, Crucial: http://www.crucial.com/ and Kingston http://www.kingston.com/us/.
Consider an upgrade to 8 GB or RAM ($100).
If your Mac has a disk and it won’t repair properly, is low on disk space, or you just want a considerably faster disk,, check out an upgrade to an SSD-Hybrid disk. Google "Seagate XT".
Good luck.  May the software fixes do the trick.

  • 24 hour time on lock screen

I accidentally set my iPhone to 24-hour time a week or so ago. I noticed almost immediately and changed it back. The problem is that my home screen still displays 24 hour time. I have rebooted it and changed it back and forth numerous times. Any suggestions to get it back to normal?

    Hi Rob,
I'm late to this party, but I had the same thing happen and this post came up first when I Googled the issue.
You might be able to resolve this the same way I did:
    • Settings > General >
    • Set automatically to OFF
    • Turn 24hr ON then OFF again.
    • Set automatically to ON

  • No lock screen during call using headphones ios 7.04

anyone having issues with ear or head phones. If i ask siri to call someone the screen activates in my pocket.
Think its an issue with ios 7.04

I also have this problem especially when I try to hold the phone between my shoulder and ear without using a hand....prior to iOS 4, the on/off button on the top would lock your screen while on a call. I had an original and 3G and never had this problem...once I upgraded to iOS 4, I began having the problem and because of the sensitivity improvements (overdone in the case of phone to ear), the iPhone 4 has made it even worse.
My nephew called yesterday and just received an iPhone 4 without ever having had a previous and he hung up on me 3 times and has been hanging up on clients...he hates the phone now...I explained to him the proximity, accelerometer, and gyro-meter features and walked him through so he could see how the screen went from lit to unlit as he positioned it on his face....he just naturally holds the phone such that it is tilted to far and thus the screen becomes lit and touches his cheek.
I just want my old way of locking it (without having to have headphones) by using my on/off button. I can use the "end call" button to end my calls.
iPhone user since 2007 and this is the first thing I can say is truly annoying...even more annoying than the 3G phone being so slow in iOS 4.0 (now fixed in iOS 4.1).

  • I can't access/find the "lock" screen orientation funtion since downloading iOS 7

Since I downloaded iOS 7, I can't access the "lock" orientation key that used to be on the control centre. I've flagged on "use side switch to: Lock Rotation", but to be honest I have no idea what this means. How do I "lock" orientation of my screen with this new operating system?

    Hi Anna,
With iOS7 on an iPhone, you lock the rotation by bringing up the control center and selecting the "Lock Rotation" icon. To bring up the control center, swipe up from the bottom of your screen. You should see a translucent display with the control center options:

  • Auto Lock Screen and Yahoo Messenger on iOS 6

I experiencing few bugs after i upgraded my iphone 4 to iOS 6. The first one is about the auto lock of screen. Sometimes it won't work. And the last one is crashing and hanging when im using Yahoo Messenger.

  • Screen scratches way too easily

So I probably bought one of the last Z1 Compact piece in my town.. What a hunt it was a couple weeks ago lol
    Happy yes!
    Well..
a few days ago I got a nasty scratch whilst my phone was in a front pocket AND I had a few coins in the small tiny pocket (condom pocket).. How on earth is this possible with Gorilla glass **bleep** and so..??

As alexdon says really, you should always apply a screen protector to a new handset imo - even if your phone does have the latest, scratch-proof gorilla glass
Plus, when you come to get rid of it and updgrade its a massive selling point!

  • Strokes are acting funny. Way too thin for the point size.

I'm on 5.5 and all of a sudden, when I apply a stroke to a photo frame, I'm not getting the width that the settings say.
For example, I place a picture on the page, I scale it, say 50%, then put a stroke on it. I barely can see it. I can put a 44 pt. stroke on it, and it looks like it's about 7 pts wide. I tried assigning it to the inside, outside, middle, same thing.
It's also doing that with the rounded corner trick. Click the yellow box, and start sliding a corner piont, and it's barely visible. I can assign a .5" rounded corner to the frame, and I can barely see the roundness.
It's crazy, and completely grinding my work to a halt.
    Any ideas?

just normal, has no bearing on document size.
If I just draw a box with the box tool, strokes are normal.
It's only when I place a photo and reduce it in size do the strokes act funny.
It clearly has something to do with reducing the images.
I see there is a preference for  scaling objects, and I tried both settings.
But the strokes act funny either way.
